Reviews for Lake Opechee Inn and Spa

Review 1:Last time I had a balcony room and a jacuzzi tub and was looking forward to that but our room this time did not have that. Still a lovely room though, but a bit pricey. Breakfast was lacking!

Review 2:Love the decor, the restaurant onsite is great! The rooms are beautiful.

Review 3:Room was nice, over priced though. The smoking area is right at the entrance doors, you have to walk through the stink of smoke to go in the building. Continental breakfast was something you'd see at a 2 star hotel. Bed had a big hump in the middle. TV was to small to see from the bed. No thermostat control on the fireplace, if you fall asleep with it on you will wake to a 90 degree room.

Review 4:The room was fabulous, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a fireplace but didn't use it, too warm outside. We had a drink in the bar, and the staff was great.

Review 5:Would have been great if swimming pool had been larger.

Review 6:The lake location and view. The large room with comfortable beds, armchairs and fire The best hotel we stayed in in New England

Review 7:the room was the cleanest I have stayed in in any hotel. It was large with a beautiful fireplace. Once you fall onto the bed you never want to get it out. Great night sleep. Anything we needed was taken care of. Def want to go back

Review 8:If I was being ultra picky it would be a few more healthy options at breakfast but that's pretty minor-would definitely use again

Review 9:Room over-looking the lake was large & spacious with a nice fire & jacuzzi bath. Restaurant was good too. Reasonable prices for the quality bearing in mind how much we had to pay for medium (at best) quality in New York & Boston!!!

Review 10:The room was a little dark. Not enough overhead light. Personally do not care for down mattress top.

Review 11:The restaurant was awesome. The staircase was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 12:Did not get the room I requested in my reservation and was very disappointed and the jacuzzi was so noisy you couldn't use it for fear of disturbing neighbors.

Review 13:It did resemble an old in. Was surprised it was only 10 years old.

Review 14:I was unaware that half of the old factory still existed, therfore the view was a bit awkward.

Review 15:Amazing staff! Great view of the lake! Spacious room and very cozy! Amazing in house restaurant! Great location overall.

Review 16:I wish the pool and spa had been open.

Review 17:The rooms are very spacious and very comfortable. The comfort level of the linens and the bed was extremely high. Very nice continental breakfast.

Review 18:The continental breakfast was not as pleasant. Settings lovely but selections just not up to rest of your establishment!

Review 19:The building was very attractive and we most enjoyed O restaurant. The view of lake was lovely. Think if you develop industrial bldg. as we read about, it will be a major plus.

Review 20:Oh my gosh - it was wonderful. It was my boyfriends birthday and they helped me get a small cake and balloons in the room upon check in. The tub, the bed, soft chairs, fireplace - the whole room was super comfy, romantic and casual. We had a lake view King room. We visited the spa and had excellent couples massages, we kayaked on the lake - we visited local sites and ate local food based on the staff's suggestions and it was all great. We even petted the golden retrievers who were lovely. O's Steakhouse on site is phenomenal. Perfect for foodies. It was just great all around. My only two suggestions would be to include the bathrobes upon check in . . .the bathrobes were so soft but I had to ask for them. And I wish there was a rack for our kayaks. We didn't mind bringing our own but it was a pain to store them on top of our car with all of the straps, etc. I will go back to this place again and I will recommend it to others for sure.

Review 21:We had a room with two queen size beds. The mattresses on both were dented on the sides that are closer to each other. The indentations were so bad that we both ended up having to sleep on the far end from each other which totally took some serious points out of the entire stay.

Review 22:The complimentary breakfast and around the clock K cup coffee/tea was a huge plus.

Review 23:The comfort of the bed left much to be desired. It should also be noted that when cleaning a soda spill in the room, without a doubt the rugs need a cleaning.

Review 24:As indicated above, the staff was friendly and the facility has a good location.

Review 25:Best bed I've ever slept on. Lovely, tastefully decorated room. Spacious without being cavernous. charming, with all necessary amenities. Great restaurant attached to the Inn for lunch and dinner.

Review 26:Pool and Hot tub should be open 24 hours, we returned from a concert and everything was closed..the reason we got the hotel room was to enjoy those amenities and they were not available when we returned

Review 27:The only things we did not like were the lack of availability for last minute appointments at the spa, our first day there we were literally the only couple wandering the halls when we went to the spa they o my had availability for pedicures or body scrubs, their loss we were ready to put down some serious money for relaxation and also the reception ist did not seem to care which was a real bummer. We would have understood the lack of availability had they been booked up in th inn but this was not the case.

Review 28:We liked that the rooms were spacious, the view of the lake from our room was beautiful, the restaurant had delicious food, and the staff was very friendly.

Review 29:This is our third time at Lake Opechee and we are never disappointed From the greeting of the staff, to the beautifully decorated rooms, its first class all the way. Not to mention O's one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in. There too the staff is wonderful

Review 30:The soaking pool and jacuzzi were directly off of the lobby. We did not feel comfortable using them because we felt like we would be on display.

Review 31:We loved the room. It had a cozy feeling with the fireplace and comfy furniture. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable ever!

Review 32:I booked and paid for two rooms, the second a Christmas gift for my older son and his fiancée. I was not at the hotel when they checked in. The front desk clerk made it kind if embarrassing for them. I managed to make it back in 15 minutes but I physically had to be there with my credit card.

Review 33:Great restaurant on site. Spacious rooms and fireplace is romantic. We accidentally left some ski clothing in the room after we left. The girl at the front desk called is when we got home and mailed it to is promptly.

Review 34:The hotel room on the end 132 was located above the restaurant and we could hear the noise from the restaruant all night long. Everytime the door shut below us in the restaurant the room shook. When we were finally able to fall sleep around 2 am the sound of a loud truck awoke us at 5:30 am! The truck was so load I thought there were several plow trucks it turned out that it was a food delivery truck for the restaruant. I was standing watching them bang around from our window. I was so perturbed by this. The loud banging went on for a good hour and after we were able to fall back asleep for a couple hours. Unfortunely check out is early at 11 so we had little time to fall back asleep before we headed down stairs for breakfast then hustled to pack up. What was the biggest let down was telling the manager about this experience and her reaction was as if she was used to hearing it. She offered no apology no complimentary visit, no refund no complimentary spa so many things she could have offered something but we got nothing not even an apology.

Review 35:The bed was very comfortable. I loved the fireplace and the wood work in the room.

Review 36:We could not find anything that we did not like

Review 37:The Inn and Spa were top rate and the Staff was highly professional while making you feel at home. You can enjoy the surrounding Lakes Area and then have an intimate evening in a comfortable room listinening to soft music and while enjoying the warmth and glow from your own fireplace This is the place to stay for anyone visiting the Lakes Region in the State of New Hampsire

Review 38:When I booked my reservation online through Booking.com, I asked for aview of Lake Winnepasauki and a late checkout so that I could godirectly from the Funeral on Saturday to the Luncheon Reception. When Iwas checking in on Friday. I was denied a lakeview room, despite thefact that our funeral group keep the Inn from being completely empty,When I pointed out that our funeral group was the reason the inn was notcompletely empty, the Innkeeper reluctantly gave me a lakeview room. Idid not see another guest on my floor during my stay! The late check wasgranted the next morning on my way to the funeral. However, when I wentto pay my bill, The Innkeeper added $50.00 to the total for a latecheckout charge. In fact, my daughter and I left the luncheon receptionearly to checkout, around 1:45 pm. Our maid had even told me not to beconcerned about checking out as she would be working until after 4 pm.This Innkeeper was hoping I wouldn't notice the extra $50.00 charge! In summary, the innkeeper choose to disregard the customer! To addinsult to injury she told me six times why I was wrong and she wasright!! The Inn keeper destroyed the customer's stay!

Review 39:The restaurant: Friday night dinner was excellent, as was the postfuneral reception luncheon on Saturday, 11/29/2014,

Review 40:The bed was very soft which made it hard to me to move.

Review 41:Staff were very helpful and frindly. The style of tge room was unique, the jacozi was perfect, the view is so beautiful, this place is perfect for getaway weekend :)

Review 42:The patrons who tried to ruin our time but could not! We had 10 people at our table so I understand we were a bit loud but the staff said we were great and handled themselves wonderfully.

Review 43:Service and food were outstanding, front desk staff very helpful. Also while in the restaurant we had some other patrons take offense as we were laughing to loudly for them, they came over to start a fight, but the hostess and bartender handled it in a very professional manner. having owned 3 restaurants I was very impressed and thankful for them.

Review 44:I didn't like how the website makes it look more secluded in the woods rather then being right in town & also the website makes it look like your balcony overlooks just the water when in reality it overlooks the parking lot then the water.

Review 45:I really liked the fireplace & whirlpool in the rooms.

Review 46:Everything was great nothing to dislike.

Review 47:We only stayed overnight but we were very pleased with everything. The staff was very friendly, the restaurant and service was out-standing. The room was large and comfy and the fireplace was a plus. We can't wait to return.

Review 48:The staff at the front desk were not friendly for the most part. Our initial contact was good but we arrived too early and it was not a problem leaving our luggage and going for lunch. When we returned we were thinking of upgrading the room and it appeared to be a problem for us to see both rooms so we left the reservation as it was. We obviously had to make a decision without seeing the options. Checking out was not pleasant either.

Review 49:The Restaurant was very good and the staff were helpful. Gave some greats tips on where to tour. Food was great.

Review 50:I was expecting a secluded lakeside setting, based on the online pictures and was very surprised that it was located it the middle of town. We opted for a "forest" view room, but in the morning were awaken by early morning Main Street commuter traffic. The rooms with a lake view over look the street coming into the Inn and parking lot, which made me glad I did not pay extra for that view.

Review 51:the onsite where we had dinner one evening restaurant was superb. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was exceptional and helpful on all levels. Our overall stay was very pleasant.

Review 52:The beds were super soft and very uncomfortable and unsupportive. Felt like sleeping in a hole and even difficult to turn over

Review 53:The decor and size of the room was great. It was also nice to have 2 easy chairs to relax in

Review 54:Breakfast options were unimpressive. Bagels and English muffins were wrapped in plastic wrap. Hard boiled eggs in shells. Instant oatmeal. Boxed cereals. Same choices each day.

Review 55:Super comfy and luxurious bedding. Keurig coffee available 24 hours in the lobby. Tranquility spa is a nice option right downstairs.

Review 56:The view of the lake toward the left from all balconies is blocked by a large warehouse. It really spoils the pleasure of sitting on the balcony.

Review 57:Outstanding staff. Nice large room. Great restaurant on site.

Review 58:extra cost for additional people.

Review 59:the beds are amazingly comfortable! the theme of the rooms are adorable the view of the lake is beautiful! staff is accomodating definitely would come back again.

Review 60:This year my room was located very close to the restaurant and had some odd food odors. My fireplace did not work. I had emailed them prior to my arrival to ask that they remove the feather pillows as I am allergic but they hadn't. I did ask to be relocated to another part of the building due to the smell but they could not accommodate me as they were full.

Review 61:This was my second stay at Lake Opechee Inn and once again the room was beautifully appointed and homey. They offer a nice complimentary breakfast.

Review 62:The bed on the first night had a pillow topper and was the most comfortable bed I've slept in..ever. For some reason the staff took away the pillow topper for the 2nd night stay. The bed was still comfortable but I did not sleep through the night and was just no where near as comfortable. We had the card on the bed to just make the bed and not change sheets, so not sure why the topper would be touched.

Review 63:We loved, loved, loved our room! It was so comfortable and spacious. The window seat was comfortable, the lounge chairs in front of the TV were great! Bed..pillow topper made it amazing! Location, can't beat the convenience to BNH Pavilion and just getting around. Oh and the beautiful golden retriever greeting us was perfect!

Review 64:Absolutely loved our stay at Lake Opechee Inn. We stayed in the Old Man Room, which was quite cozy and very clean. Love the location and convienent to the WOW trail for running, etc. Staff was quite accommodating in whatever needed. Will definitely stay here if we return to Lake W.

Review 65:The only one thing we wish was different is that we weren't able to store our bikes in our room, but the hotel has a locked trailer directly in front where athletes can store their bikes.

Review 66:The staff is very accommodating. We were staying for the Ironman Timberman 70.3 and the staff put out breakfast at 3am(!) for the athletes. This is a beautiful space. Feels just like home. We will be coming back!

Review 67:Convenient to Lake and other attractions, varied options for dining (both casual and sophisticated), nice shopping, large bedroom, warm/cozy, yet elegant atmosphere, friendly staff -- it was perfect! I'd definitely return and also recommend it to friends.

Review 68:Picture in add misleading. Thought it would be possible to sit close to lake & enjoy. No outside pool to get out & enjoy experience. Only one side of hotel had lake views. Very skimpy on towels. Lighting in room terrible. Really didn't feel the lake experience. No one available to help carry bags

Review 69:Bed (mattress) not comfortable - too soft in center; some rooms have a poor lake-view

Review 70:Nice spot on the lake; beautiful and tastefully decorated interior, spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable room - great view (from room 110). Relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel.

Review 71:The room price was more than I am use to spending for just my self, but it was a special occaision and worth it. It would make is hard to spend the week though.

Review 72:The staff was very warm and inviting. The view from our room of the lake was amazing. I wish we could have spent more time there. I think for future special occaisions I would go back.

Review 73:If they can find space, an outdoor pool or possibly a little beach area on the lake would be nice.

Review 74:The staff was extremely friendly. The inn was beautiful and the room was amazing—really spacious, clean, and comfortable.
