Reviews for 1st Interstate Inn

Review 1:Some of the staff were ruder (not all). The actual property is pretty beat up--bordering on dilapidated. I travel for work (weekly) and have stayed at plenty of low-cost hotels, but this was by far the rattiest place I've every stayed. And that includes Oil & Gas man-camps.

Review 2:It's in a great location and easy to get around the area.

Review 3:Walls not very soundproofed. Random bugs in the tub.

Review 4:Uh, well. This is definitely one of the dodgier places I've ever stayed in the States. However, it's the cheapest place in the area and if you're just here to ski and don't care about quaint, romantic, etc., this is your place. Reception desk was super nice, there was a TV...yep. And the Mint restaurant next door was pretty excellent.

Review 5:The staff is excellent, friendly, and funny. The price is amazing. Everything worked great and was as expected. I got what I expected for a $77 a night room on January 1st 2016. No other room came close to this price - in fact the next closest price was $270 all the way up to $2300 a night! The location is prime and the price is better. Plus, you get a nice discount at the local steak house next door, The Mint. The hotel gives you a coupon: $12.95 for a steak, baked potato, and salad bar. This saves you 10 dollars right then and there. You get to cook your own steak, too - it's sweet! To you stuck up snobs that gripe about this place please step out of your glass slippers and experience life once in a while, clowns.

Review 6:I'm a cheap traveler, so I know what to expect from roach-motels. I bring my own sleeping bag and pillow, don't sleep under the covers, etc. This place was about average except for 2 things. The room had an intense cigarette smoke smell, making it difficult to sleep. And I showed up late at 11:40 pm, which I put in my reservation, and checked that they allowed check in up to midnight. But when I got there, the office was closed and dark. I rang the bell and someone eventually showed up, but they were super annoyed with me showing up at 11:40 pm.

Review 7:Good location to access all of the ski resorts. Cheap for the date ($70 for the Christmas - New Year week). There's not much else to like about this place though.

Review 8:It was my worst experience ever in lodging. The heater did not work, it was cold, there was no blanket, only a sheet and bedspread. Office closed after check in so I could not report problems, it was closed in the morning. Towels were old and stained. I felt I got ripped off. This is the first time I have ever been unhappy with lodging.

Review 9:The room difinitely did not look like any of the photos I saw!! Dirty, dingy, AND a moldy bathroom. Found out in the morning that the shower did not even work!!!

Review 10:They gave am a key rather than a keycard. That should have been the first sign!!!

Review 11:Not open till midnight like stated on the web, rude customer service, no snow removal, thin floors, poor lighting, noise from outside, gap between door, hole in door, overpriced, no noticeable drop box, no way to secure door from outside key, low shower head, clogged shower head

Review 12:Close to I-70, bus line, walking distance to bars, shopping near by, free coffee, hot water, TV, shampoo, lotion, free parking, fridge.

Review 13:The room is very, very old and it really shows its age. I inspected theroom very carefully before placing all my stuff down for the night. Itwas still very clean, but it was hard to ignore the bathroom floorpeeling up, the missing frame on the bathroom door, and the yellowdiscoloration of everything. If this description bothers you, do notstay here; you will be incredibly disappointed. If you don't mind acheap but funky place for a night, happy hunting. I want to stress thatthe bed in particular looked and smelled very clean and the mattress wasone of the few items in the place that wasn't decrepit.

Review 14:The room was small and old, but it was clean and well-stocked withclean towels, soap, toilet paper, an extra blanket, cable tv, and evena plastic cup for water I used. A cheap, clean room was all I waslooking for for my weekend snowboarding trip, and that's exactlywhat I got here.

Review 15:Smelly room. Rude staff. And now they want to charge me a cancellation policy on top of what I've already paid? Unfortunately, I DID stay in that motel.

Review 16:Location was the only good thing about this terrible hotel

Review 17:Plugging in my ph charger, the outlet had a glob of dirt on it.Bathroom wallpaper was pealing and dirty, stains on ceiling, walls. I have pictures. I'd B shocked if it passed Health inspection. Bathroom heater did not work.

Review 18:Didnt like anything but desk clerk was nice. We felt as if we were at the Bates Motel. Our rm in front motel row was ready for the wrecking ball. Shower curtain was discussing from rusty water and 4 consecutive hooks gone.

Review 19:When I first got there the lady at the front desk gave me my room key. I went to my room and was not comfortable with it. I was kinda scared being a singel woman and the door didn't lock very well. The shower head didn't work either. I went back to the lady at the front desk and asked her if I could have a diffrent room because of how I was feeling and she right away gave me a room closer to the front office with a better door and the shower worked. She was very nice and understaniding. Thank you.

Review 20:Busted lampshades, wallpaper peeling and falling apart, closet opened to outside garage, water came out scalding hot, bathroom heater was old school where its easy to brush up against it and get burned. Overall really dirty and gross. Could not spend the night and I'm not foofy I don't mind a couple of things here and there but this took the cake. Still itching from bed.

Review 21:If you like hanging out with multiple residents living at a motel, this is the place for you. Beyond ghettotastic!

Review 22:This is the worst place I have stayed at in my life. No matter what the price, stay away

Review 23:Website says A/C, breakfast. No A/C in any room. No breakfast, not even coffee. Wifi didn't reach our room.

Review 24:Bed was good. Housekeeper was very friendly. Heater worked good.

Review 25:We were very disappointed in the quality of the motel. The lights in the bathroom did not work, there were no screens on the window. We had a very small room with a double bed. For the amount of money we paid the service was very poor.

Review 26:The location was about the only thing we liked. The second night was better as we had more room but over-all it was disappointing.

Review 27:I booked on line, stating I would arrive between 9-10pm. I got there about 9:45-- and would have gotten there 10 minutes earlier if the desk clerk hadn't shut off the sign (apparently at 9:00).....

Review 28:Great value, near the Interstate. Older motel but with microwave, mini fridge, comfortable bed, hot shower, nice towels for this kind of older, budget place.

Review 29:Room very small, Bed small, no locks on windows, very poor maid service-did not change all linen every day or clean room. Staff did not know how to use there phone system. Manger not on property at all times.

Review 30:NOTHING

Review 31:At first attempt, I was told there were no rooms available. A couple hours later I booked on this site and got a room no prob. No TV...she did give me $10 off for that tho. Pillows were uncomfortable. Shower/bathroom smelled clean but appeared dirty. This place was WAY cheaper than any other place in an extended area. Plus it was right next to the oldest bar in Colorado. Dee the bartender was very cool.

Review 32:The rooms were not ready for use at 4:45pm after we checked in at 2:30. We were tired after a long day of hiking, and just wanted a shower and a nap. It was not going to be ready until about 6 at least.

Review 33:The manager, Ange, was so wonderful to work with! She is a funny and energetic lady

Review 34:Severely understaffed (cleaning staff had quit). Upstairs rooms felt like you were walking in off of a back alley. Light bulbs not working and a light fixture not working. Still, it was clean and comfortable, if a little strangely laid out.

Review 35:Location and price.

Review 36:Bathroom was run down with a lot of rust. Late morning coffee (8am).

Review 37:Proximity to several skiing resorts

Review 38:Old and unsafe flooring.

Review 39:Proximity to ski resort.

Review 40:no door on bathroom

Review 41:good location

Review 42:The check in was at 2 and the front desk lady told me to come back in 2 hours because the room wasn't ready.

Review 43:Nothing

Review 44:Shabby room, missing electrical outlet plates, door difficult to open/close.

Review 45:Close to store outlets. Refrigerator and microwave in room.

Review 46:Cheap place to stay for skiing

Review 47:Pretty rough shape

Review 48:Location, lots of parking

Review 49:Hygene if front desk person Disappointed was supposed to be king bed had two doubles

Review 50:We liked the central location with good restaurants on both sides

Review 51:See above comment. Look somewhere else.

Review 52:Place is disgusting would not have stayed if it wasnt so late when I arrived.

Review 53:Staff was rude, linens had holes in them, room had large holes in the walls, stains in carpet, stains on bed, etc.

Review 54:Staff was rude, very cold.

Review 55:First room had no operational light or fan in the bathroom. Fortunately I got there early enough that there was one room left they could move me to.

Review 56:The bathroom sink had some bad stains. Needs to be replaced. Also the room had a mildew odor.

Review 57:Next door to The Mint restaurant

Review 58:Rooms need to be updated. Was not told there was a drop box for early risers.

Review 59:The staff was helpful.Food and gas nearby. Close to highway.

Review 60:This is pretty much a halfway house. Stay away if you can.

Review 61:Located in the right spot

Review 62:The staff are great and the rooms are basic but clean.

Review 63:Awesome place. Staff very courteous.. clean place had smoker room but was alrite.. didn't have a problem with it

Review 64:The beds were uncomfortable for 2 people together.
