Review 1：Looked a little run down, and not very many resaurants in the area, to walk to. Walls are thin, so can hear neighbours.

Review 3：I liked the price but we had no hot water the heater didn't work in the room and the dryer didn't dry our clothes. Other than that it was very clean and the bed was comfy. Good cable too. It was also located next to lots.of stores.

Review 18：I went to pay for an additional night at about 5:30am and was asked to return later in the morning. The only issue was that I started work at 7am.

Review 26：Booking this room was one of my worst travel experiences ever. The hotel was grossly misrepresented and disgusting. I gave the front desk my credit card and id upon arrival only to find my reserved room was dirty, had a horrible smell, A/C not working, pillows soiled and a dripping faucet. Additionally there were transient permanent residents living in deplorable conditions on the same property. I informed the attendant of my concerns and their misrepresentations and demanded to cancel my reservation and provide a refund. They refused. We left forfeiting our payment. This place is a nightmare....I'd rather stay at The Bates Motel!
Review 27：The floor was filthy. The shower had hair in it. We were hesitant on staying but did not want to pay the cancellation fee and then find another hotel. We were tired and just wanted to sleep. Nothing like the picture we saw on the advertisement.

Review 31：There was multiple bugs in the room, the door and walls were dirty. I didn't even stay a night because it felt so dirty and they refused to give me any sort of money back. Don't waste your money.

When I confronted them, they said they didn't charge my card the extra $50. I called my credit card company. They confirmed my card was charged twice once for $97.00,and once for $50.00. They are dishonest, and don't keep a clean establishment.
Review 34：Two tiny towels for two grown people. Very small bed, Flat pillows, Filthy floors. Low income people living on property, one side of hotel looked good the other looked like something from the ghetto. Lots of drugs and drinking happening all night long.

Review 36：The owners had very poor communication skills, there were guest sitting in the parking lot drinking and smoking drugs. The parking lot is one way in and out with a very narrow road way. The biggest turn off was all the riff raff sitting in the parking lot. I was afraid to stay there with my six year old son.
Review 37：No, no, no. This place is truly a dump. Lots of sketchy characters hanging around in the parking lot engaging in who knows what. Part of the property is clearly extended stay rooms for the downtrodden. The most depressing place I've ever been. Room was dirty, my feet turned black after walking barefoot. Mini fridge was broken, no hair dryer. I did not feel safe. Checked out immediately in the morning. Avoid this one!

Review 49：The walls are a little too thin. Our television lost it's channels the day before we left. The water line to the toilet seems to be hooked up to the hot water line. The toilet seat got pretty hot while sitting on it. It needed a couple of lamps for the night stands. The installed lamps were a little too bright and inconvenient to turn off by the door before going to bed. It would also have been nice to have a chair or two for the table that was provided instead of having to sit on the bed for everything.
Review 50：The room was clean. The colors were bright. The shower was nice. The room was decorated very nicely and the staff were very pleasant. The price was a little high for the accommodations but I would stay there again. The rooms certainly show they have been recently remodeled. The outside is kept clean and also has been remodeled.
Review 51：The building is in dire need of an update. The rooms are very small. There is nowhere to sit outside, no pool, no chairs.....Unfortunately we will not be back to the Coast Inn.

Review 57：I left my iPhone in the room when we checked out. The owner said he checks all the rooms before housekeeping comes through, and he had my phone right there at the front desk for me. Very honest ownership.
Review 58：The rooms were filthy. If you upgraded to a deluxe room it was at least sanitary. The staff are quick to charge a late fee and suggest taking advantage of near by motels continental breakfast.

Review 68：Service was really lousy no one was around to check us out. So we had to about 15 minute for the staff to show up. And when we checked in, there was only on bath towel in the bathroom and since we brought our own towel we didn't usk for more towel. A few our after we left, we got a phone call from the hotel saying we took one of their bath towel and they will charge us $20 for the missing towel, I said I didn't take it and I would go back to the hotel to prove it since I wasn't far from the hotel but they said I didn't have to and still charge me for that missing towel. They said there were always two towels and if there was only one towel why would I ask for more, I was like is that's my fault that's I didn't wanna use your towel and didn't ask for more from you and you didn't check the room before we leave and after that they said the'll call me back and hang up the phone. If you decide to stay in this hotel make sure you count the bath towel when you check in.
Review 69：No coffee in the rooms or office. There was shop near by that had coffee. A little inconvenient but it worked. There was a fridge but it did not seem to work. The outlet was controlled by a switch that was in the off position. There was not any indicator to let us know this. Moved the fridge to another outlet. Would have been nice if switch had been marked.
Review 70：Coastal Inn is in the middle of a very large remodel project. When we first arrived we thought OH NO! The owners showed us the rooms. They were new and clean. Our stay was only for one night and we sleep well. Plenty of hot water for showers. I was impressed at how they handled my I-pod I left in the room. They mailed it to me at no charge and even waited a day to mail it so it would not arrive before I got home.

Review 79：There are some people that stay in the run down, not remodeled portion, at least we think, and they were in the parking lot in the late evening, hitting on my sister, and complaining about how strict the owners are. The neighbors shower was really loud on our side early in the morning, but we came in late at night and probablly woke them up with our showers. They also did not plug in or turn on our fridge, so it took us a little while to figure it out, since the plug in was through the closet wall, and plugged into an outlet in the closet, and there was a power switch behind the microwave that operated the outlet so even when we thought we had the fridge plugged in, it didn't get turned on until we came back from dinner, realized that it was still not working and went looking for a reset switch for the outlet. OOPS
Review 80：The Hotel is undergoing some extensive remodelling, so upon getting there, you think "I have made a terrible mistake". However, the rooms were very nice, my sister and I shared a King size bed. Everything was newly updated, rooms were clean, staff was kind of friendly. You can tell that the owners are working hard to ensure that the hotel is clean and inviting and the drugs, prostitution, and shady activity is kept out. This can make it seem as if the owners are strict, and nosy, but if you don't have anything to hide, you will enjoy the location. No coffee, breakfast, pool, or laundry, but really this is just a place to sleep, as Oceanside has so much to offer. We came on accident during comic con so prices on all hotels were practially doubled, so it wasn't worth the price we paid for one night, but it was still the cheapest in the area. Other times the hotel is much cheaper, and worth the price.
