Reviews for Moonlight Hotel Hue
Review 1:The first room we stayed at was on the fourth floor - from there we heard the sound of the bars around loud and clearly until 2 am and also the room neighbours - rooms are not soundproof. When we asked to cancel our further nights, the manager did not quite believe it was possible to hear the music, but gave us a higher room. The reaction of disbelief was unprofessional.
Review 2:Spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast buffet offered great choice of asian and western food. Friendly receptionists.
Review 3:The bed was a little too hard for my liking.
Review 4:The location was central. The street was very vibrant with a great night life, great vibe. The breakfast was fantastic, a lot of variety and delicious food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby and rooms were very clean and fresh. Beautiful!
Review 5:The gap between the bath tub and the wall meant that when you have a shower, you end up with water on the floor.
Review 6:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was large with a lot of choice. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Review 7:My room was across the street from the bar so it was a bit noisy at night. If you're light sleeper, request for the room away from the street.
Review 8:Breakfast was tasty. Staff are extremely helpful. Ask for their recommendation for local seafood restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
Review 9:None.
Review 10:Hotel location is in the center to many 'happenings' in the city. Yet, when we shut our room door, there's an air of tranquility, making us oblivious of the noise outside.
Review 11:We were given windowless rooms that a 4-star hotel should not have in the place! Asked to change to another floor and was told the hotel was fully booked. Avoid rooms #107 & #108.
Review 12:Location.
Review 13:Great location central to everything. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. The cafe next door make the best Vietnamese coffee! We were there everyday. The conceirge was attentive and assisted us with little tips to get around Hue.
Review 14:The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to help us. The reception named Duyen was friendly, efficient and informative. My husband lost his jacket in our tour bus and she managed to track down the tour bus and returned the jacket. It is a centralised area and is within walking distance to local eateries and in close proximity to tourist attractions. Breakfast was good, there was a variety of food to accomodate all taste buds.
Review 15:Breakfast was hit or miss Got charged for a cracked glass Very loud at night due to a club across the road. Cleaning staff were very loud in the morning.
Review 16:Great location, very clean, staff were friendly, room had a jacuzzi, spa is amazing and well priced
Review 17:The breakfast had lots of choice but the quality of the food wasn't that great.
Review 18:Moonlight is a very nice hotel in a great location in Hue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is definitely more expensive than other hotels in the area but it is worth it.
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:The rooms are really nice, with a wonderful bath tube. We could not use a lot the swimming pool, but having a bath after a long walking day is really recommendable. Breakfast is quite complete, nice views from the rooftop bar.
Review 21:Have read some comments about the noise. This is from quite distant bars and so will be an issue for all hotels in the town. Some sound between rooms but again a Vietnam standard.
Review 22:Can't fault anything - especially for the price. Stylish and spacious room with excellent staff.
Review 23:The staff are business-like as compared to the earlier hotel we just left the day before. The other hotel staff were very warm and personal
Review 24:The hotel is central to many activities - market place, eateries, transport.
Review 25:My room was on the 8th floor overlooking the river. Great view but a bar in the street below has very loud music (bass) into the night
Review 26:Great service, spacious rooms and good location
Review 27:there is a disco downstairs and other very noisy bars in the neighbourhood that put very bumpy music until 2am or more. staff very stiff: they made us pay for a broken glass.. (1dollar..). it is a big hotel used to have big group of tourists. the downside is to be treated a bit like big heards of noisy people...
Review 28:very spacious and confortable room. big beds. the rooms have high standard facilities.
Review 29:Just be aware we Booked family room but not suitable for 2 adults and 2 children (12 and 9). I guess families are "3" in Vietnam.
Review 30:Location is excellent and all services to the standard of any mid-range Western hotel.
Review 31:The pool was disappointing
Review 32:Hotel is conveniently located on a street with several restaurants and bars. It is close enough to the Imperial City. We enjoyed our short stay in Hue
Review 33:There is nothing I dont like from this hotel.
Review 34:The hotel location is strategic. The room is comfortable. Cleanlines is superb. Breakfast is fabulous. Staffs are warm. All is excellent. Money well spent.
Review 35:Breakfast was great. Lots of variety. Staff are very friendly. Great location. On a busy and lively street but still quiet at night. Highly recommended for the price!
Review 36:Nothing - considering the price paid it far exceeded expectations.
Review 37:Fantastic hotel for the price!!! Proper hotel with all the facilities. Excellent choice for breakfast on top floor with view of perfume river. Located on main backpacker / tourist road which is excellent with lots of bars and restaurants.
Review 38:This is a really nice hotel in a great location. This is one hotel where I would recommend paying the little extra for the river view room. It is worth it for the lovely view. Breakfast was really good too.
Review 39:upon checkout, staff wanted us to pay for a small face towel which we did not take. we told them housekeeping had put only 1 instead of 2 facetowels in the room. they still did not believe us but we left anyway without paying. spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay in the hotel.
Review 40:good location
Review 41:Pool was small and covered completely with very limited space to lay around pool
Review 42:Large rooms. We were 3 family members travelling together and they upgraded us into 2 interconnecting rooms
Review 43:Pool was pretty small and too warm and heavily chlorinated, though it had nice views and was OK when empty.
Review 44:Staff very helpful, good location, lovely views, excellent breakfast.
Review 45:The bar on the main drag was too loud and annoying for no reason.
Review 46:Everything. King suite with its own garden was to die for. The dark wooden floor boards, the classic furniture style and the bed. The views. All Amazing. Breakfast excellent and the staff were impeccably friendly and helpful. Stay there again with out question.
Review 47:This is hands down the best value, high quality hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff, location and rooms are outstanding. This is my second stay at the Moonlight and it's has been excellent.
Review 48:Musty smell in the hotel's corridor
Review 49:Nothing in particular except to say thank you to the bell boy who provide us with a cold drink and cold towel after our long day trip
Review 50:Noise: there was a lot of noise coming from a nearby bar and also we could hear the television in other rooms in the hotel. Cleanliness: stains on the sheets and towels, housekeeping arrived and entered room at 8am while we were asleep. Staff: immature and inexperienced, at times poor manners and we felt we were inconveniencing them when asking for boiling water at breakfast. Wifi: weak and unreliable, especially late afternoon
Review 51:The location was surrounded by nice restaurants and bars. The spa facility within the hotel was very relaxing, thorough facial but staff need some upskilling on pedicures.
Review 52:Excellent value for money. Good location and convenient to get to restaurants and the river. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again,
Review 53:Pool could have been cleaner, had missing tiles and should have stairs for older guests. WiFi sporadic, so a nuisance; fortunately our sim cards picked up the slack. Suite could use some amenities like glasses & dishes for happy hour entertaining but the staff happily brought whatever we requested.
Review 54:Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. always willing to make extra effort to ensure the guests' satisfaction. Location is perfect. Suite was nice size with a nice river view.
Review 55:The buffet breakfast was rather crowded and a little chaotic.
Review 56:The staff were extremely helpful, even in ways they didn't have to be. And they all spoke perfect English. The spa was also very good.
Review 57:the hotel charged me for a broken glass ehich I had no idea it came from, and it didn't provide any prrof that it was broken during my stay, though it is not that much money, but when you are rushed to check out to catch a flight, there is really no time to debate for i USD charge, the hotel service is very unprofessional...moreover, the staff was very nice to western travelers, but don't give it a damn if you look Asian which I supposed they think we are all Vietnamnese!
Review 58:location, pool,
Review 59:I chose the hotel because of the gym, but it was totally run down. The treadmill did not work, the weigh system did not work. I hope the management will understand providing a good gym for guests is part of the good service too.
Review 60:The staff were friendly, polite, helpful and they always wore a genuine warm smile that made you feel you were always welcome.
Review 61:We were very impressed with our stay at Moonlight Hotel. The location is perfect for shopping and eating out. The kids love the swimming pool and spa on Level 4... An oasis in the midst of a busy, happening part of town. The staff was fantastic. Everyone was warm, friendly and eager to pleased.
Review 62:Location is also close to some construction and bars who play the music too loudly. No bath in room. Asked for twin beds, got a queen bed...
Review 63:The breakfast is amazing, so much variety and eggs made to order! The location = close to some restaurants and easy to walk to the citadel, waterfront and market. Nice staff and internet was also available on the computers.
Review 64:Disgusting welcome drink. Shower over spa bath. Shower cable got stuck under bath and was not corrected. Sister's room had a leaking shower, reported but, again, not repaired. Advertised balcony but only big enough to stand on.
Review 65:Beautiful room. Good view from restaurant floor.
Review 66:No comment.
Review 67:A well located luxury hotel Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Friendly atmosphere and safe. Rooftop terrace, bar and restaurant provides a view of the Perfume River and the city.
Review 68:This big hotel was in a great location! Close to restaurants and the buzziness of the old city. The room was lovely and clean and the bed really comfortable. We really enjoyed the extensive breakfast and the great view. The staff were very helpful and organised a private hotel car to take us to Hoi An. A great trip! Thank you.
Review 69:We had stay at the connecting room, and one thing make me so suprise is no door clock between 2 rooms! It's make me got experience. But with professional service , everything was fine . We look forward for next trip and will be check in again !
Review 70:I like to sign seeing at the restaurant. Ontop , I could viewed all the city. It's amazing for me.
Review 71:The pool was freezing cold and excessively chlorinated. The equipment in the fitness centre needs updating - apart from the treadmill, it's pretty much unusable. There was a mouldy smell in the cupboards in our room and in the spa area. But these are minor complaints and, overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the incredible suite!
Review 72:We booked the King Suite on promotion and loved it. The room is huge, with two bathrooms, sauna, and jacuzzi with a window that looks onto the bed. The interior design is a little kitch but I love that! The private balcony garden is a highlight with water features, fish, and an incredible view over the perfume river. The location is perfect for exploring Hue. Staff were pleasant without being overbearing with their service. There was great variety at breakfast, including some local specialities but dishes could have been warmer and fresher.
Review 73:Cleaning was not perfect and the taking breakfasts late meant that not all was fresh.
Review 74:Arriving quite early by train we got our room before chick-in time and were able to take a needed shower. The room was excellent and wi-fi well functioning.
Review 75:dont book anything at the hotel, the attraction booking is overpriced. you can get haf proce off the agencies on the same street
Review 76:the location on the main restaurant and tourist attractions street. a 5 minutes walk to the river. the room was huge, modern and clean. breakfast was awesome and staff was friendly.
Review 77:Although hotel moonlight is a little expensive for Vietnam it is well worth it if you want to treat yourself. We come from perth WA so for us it was a good price for the quality of the hotel. Great position for walking to citadel.Very friendly helpful staff awesome breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 78:Being in the city centre is useful but the hotel is exposed to external club "music", which (thankfully) pulled the plug at about 10pm.
Review 79:Courteous, helpful staff, clean and spacious (deluxe) room, attractive breakfast, great view from 12/F.
Review 80:We overnighted at the Moonlight hotel and it lived up to expectations. Very comfortable, excellent staff on the door and front desk. Breakfast was particularly good at this hotel- huge range.
Review 81:We loved our stay here (1 night at beginning of Jan 2015). Great value for money, lovely room, comfy bed, free welcome drink and fruit in the room, good breakfast and great staff who were really helpful. Good location near a few nice restaurants and bars and a short walk from the sights. We used the hotel driver Duan the next day to take us to Hoi An which was one of the most enjoyable journeys of our trip... Really reasonable price, he stopped and showed us marble mountain and several other sights, so much better and more relaxing than getting a bus. All great value for money, would definitely stay here again, it was a shame it was just one night!
Review 82:Shower hose must have been broken/torn because water was flowing everywhere when taking a shower. Also along the river side (50m down the road) there was a club/bar playing extremely loud music. We could hear it partially from the room; would not have wanted to stay in the other hotel next to that bar (you ll see what I mean).
Review 83:Hue being small, hotel is close to the main area and within a fair walking distance from the Citadel. Nice view from a pretty high floor. Good looking rooms.
Review 84:Smelly room and toilet Bed sheets smell so bad and not clean (we saw small insects which might be bed bugs) Small room Location not that good
Review 85:Friendly staff
Review 86:A really friendly hotel with helpful staff. We only stayed one night but the hotel was a very relaxing place in a good location. Organised a trip at very short notice too!
Review 87:Near to our room was a tin-roofed half-finished terasse which was very loud when raining.
Review 88:Nice and modern reception. Good service including helpful large umbrella use.
Review 89:Lifts got very overcrowded at check out time in the morning Forgot to clean our room one day Bathroom sink wouldn't drain last day
Review 90:Rooms were well appointed, spotlessly clean Staff were very helpful Great Balconies with a view Location was very central for shopping/restaurants/bars
Review 91:The hostel nearby can be very noisy as from 10 pm. Request a room at the back or up high to avoid this.
Review 92:Beautiful, luxurious and affordable hotel at top location. Lots of nice restaurants in the same street. Excellent breakfast. Enthusiastic staff who sang Christmas carrolls every night in front of the hotel.
Review 93:Breakfast buffet was sometimes only lukewarm
Review 94:Very helpful staff. Small details like a personal welcome letter make you feel an appreciated guest. Noodlesoup made to order was excellent.
Review 95:Initially got a room on the 3rd floor that was unpleasant to say the least. It took an hour of negotiations to get another room. Room is not clean enough (happened to drop something on the floor and searched for it under the bed... all I could find was a thick layer of dust). Housekeeping is tardy. Bathroom is a bit corky with tacky jacuzzi that makes it hard to take a simple shower.
Review 96:If you can secure a room on the 6th floor or above, this is a reasonable place to stay. Not great. Below the 6th floor, the view is mainly roof-tops full of a ACs, boilers, and alike. It can also be quite noisy due to bars on the street.
Review 97:WiFi was a bit slow at times.
Review 98:Very clean and comfortable, and the staff is very attentive and helpful, one of the best in Hué, if not the best! Will stay there again when I return to Hué!!
Review 99:When you are at floors 3,4 or 5, air conditioners located at the medium roof are working extremely loudly.
Review 100:Generally friendly and well trained staff. Breakfast is good.
Review 101:They advertise an "indoor pool" but it is mostly outdoor and was too cold for the kids to swim because of that. It was disappointing.
Review 102:Everything was great! Really liked the breakfast too!
Review 103:put our names us on large led screen to welcome us - a bit intrusive
Review 104:really pleasant and helpful staff, lovely spacious room with views over Perfume river, the best breakfast I have ever had ever anywhere on top floor dining room with views, comfortable bed, great location,
Review 105:room was very small, air con heater didn't work but it was fixed and we were given an extra duvet. balcony was very narrow, no room to sit out, if you did need fresh air you had to use the balcony door which swung open fully through the night. breakfast could have been 5 star but it was cold. noise from kareoke went on until midnight, i thought the huge speakers blasting cheesy christmas songs at entrance of hotel very tacky, also couldnt hear my partner speak as we got out of taxi so hotel can hardly complian about other establishments noise. booked early as it said only one room left , but then lots of rooms appeared at half the price I paid for exactly same room, dont book early, plenty of good hotels in Hue, I will try another next time.
Review 106:Cleanliness was almost 5 star, if the bedsheets had smelled fresher. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful, they are the best thing about this hotel.
Review 107:Nothing!
Review 108:The street on which this hotel is situated has a number of good bars and restaurants. It is only 5 minutes by taxi from the railway station. Make sure to only take a marked taxi. The first guy to greet us said that he had a taxi but it had no markings. He said that he would take us for 100,000 dong. We declined and took a metered taxi instead and it was only 45,000! Everything in the hotel was of a very high standard. The staff were extremely helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.
Review 109:1. The sound-proofing of the rooms/building is not fantastic and the hotel is near some bars and restaurants, so the bass can be heard. BUT, the activities tone down by midnight. 2. Moonshine Spa is mediocre in terms of service.
Review 110:The staff speak reasonably good English. The hotel makes the best out of every small thing for the guests. Private tour transport options are really well-priced.
Review 111:the staffs are in bad manner, i booked two bus tickets and asked them call a taxi for me, i don't know why, they talked something in their language and drove me to another place, i missed my bus!
Review 112:room is ok, and is not far from the royal palace
Review 113:Nothing, can't fault this hotel
Review 114:Very warm welcome, allowed early check in free of charge. Lovely room, well appointed. Good facilities, very good breakfast.
Review 115:Hot water wasn't quite hot enough.
Review 116:The room was clean and neat. Great view of Hue. Hotel staff was helpful. They got laundry done for us in about 6 hours at no additional cost to the laundry prices. Good breakfast. Wifi was strong and fast. Highly recommended for the price.
Review 117:The location? Perfect! Right in the middle of one of the busiest street of Hue. Lively bars and lovely restaurants at hand. The service? Beyond the call of duty. The staff is, as usual in Vietnam, warmly welcoming, smily, attentive, ... Not because it's their job but because they want your stay to be comfortable and memorable. They ca also book you a private tour, a taxi, train tickets, ... The room? Fantastic. We booked a "city view" and were upgraded to the "river view" on arrival. There's floor to ceiling windows opening on a small balcony. The weather was rather wet but it doesn't wipe off the view! A super duper comfy king size bed to loose you husband during the night... There's also a tiny sitting area by the window so that you can relax, read a book or do some work with a view. This room comes with the jacuzzi bath tub. Another place where I lost my husband for some time... The buffet breakfast served on the top floor serves all sort of vietnamese specialities as well as beanz, sausage and bacon for the less adventurous. Eggs are cooked to order. If not sweet enough, croissants and pastries awaits you. For even more indulgence, the Moonshine Spa will soften your muscles and relief your nervous nots or broken back (quite common after a minibus day trip). A highly recommended hotel if you stay in Hue.
Review 118:The road can be a bit noisy in the early hours of the night from loud music coming from the close by bars.
Review 119:Good hotel with very good and friendly staff. Nicely located in a touristic spot with many restaurants and bars in the vicinity.
Review 120:The rooms in this hotel are exactely as spacious and luxurious as they look on the pictures. The reception staff, especially our bellboy Truc took care of us in a fantastic way! We were also very pleased with our visit to their Spa. The Spa manager was very professional and made sure that we enjoyed the treatments very much! Don't hesitate to visit the spa here, it's a great experience, and the prices are very affordable! Their breakfast is served on the top floor with a all-around view of Hue. The location is absolutely the best in town - in a lively street.
Review 121:The Hotel staff was unbelievably helpful. We were picked up by the hotel and taken to the hotel. The welcoming staff was the best. We had no real itinerary and hadn't been to Vietnam before. The travel coordinator met with us and guided us through the best way to see Vietnam. She made plane arrangements and tour arrangements. It ended up being perfect.
Review 122:We splashed out on the suite at this hotel and it was amazing - in room jacuzzi bath and steam room! Very well furnished and in perfect condition. Hotel is well positioned for strolling about and staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 123:There was nothing whatsoever about this hotel to dislike.
Review 124:We splashed out and booked the Signature Suite and it was a dream - amazing- just perfection. Staff - amongst the best we have come across in Vietnam. Breakfast - great variety and so well presented. Location - super restaurants close by - within walking distance of many sights.
Review 125:The bars by the hotel are a bit noisy, but the rooms are well isolated.
Review 126:Well-furnished and modern, spacious rooms and great bar and breakfast area with a view towards the river. Very attentive staff who accommodated a room change request (twin to double) on the spot. The doorman in particular (Truc) was very helpful in arranging a bike rental and transport to the airport.
Review 127:Its central location is on a street with many bars which unfortunately the sound resonated into the bedroom. This is not the hotel's fault but unfortunately this is the price you pay for having such a central location.
Review 128:The staff were courteous, friendly and accommodating the hotel was comfortable and extremely good value. It is in walking distance from many of the sites, restaurants and bars.
Review 129:If you book the cheapest rooms you won't get a window so worth the extra $9 for a room with a window.
Review 130:Fantastic location. Beautiful room on 10th floor with balcony.
Review 131:Nothing to not like everything was great, very helpfull reception and door staff, good food, great location, wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.
Review 132:Nothing at all
Review 133:The friendly welcome we received was wonderful and the staff continued to make sure we were satisfied/ happy with everything throughout the stay. Loved the river view from our room.
