Reviews for Sobaka Hostel

Review 1:The location is horrendous. it is a 20 minute walk uphill from the bus stop and there are no streetlamps. there are three critical junctures that one has to navigate correctly, failing which they end up elsewhere on the hill. furthermore, the hostel administrator only goes to the hostel when there are new guests arriving. it can be very irritating to wait for the administrator to arrive after a long climb up the hill

Review 2:Room was warm, bed was comfortable and lockers were new and secure. shower was decent and cooking facilities were functional although a little basic

Review 3:Even though we've come there when all the city lights were off, it was not really a problem as there is a electric generator in the hostel. Sergey was extremely nice and even picked us up at the bus station so that we wouldn't be lost. The area of old Yalta is charming and the promenade is just 15 minutes walk down the narrow streets. Hostel is very clean and cozy - hope to go back there in summer!

Review 4:The hostel claims to have 24 hour reception this did not appear to be true as tracking down an administrator was difficult. Upon arrival I had to call and wait outside for one to arrive. He was a bit rude and unhelpful and did not have change (in the end I over paid because when I leaving he still didn't have change and he said it could be a tip). The hostel also felt noisy and crowded with only two bathrooms for 30-50 people not being enough there was always a queue. The hostel could be great with more attentive and helpful staff.

Review 5:I liked the map and helpful directions that the hostel provided upon booking. This made the hostel easy to find and offered helpful info about nearby amenities. The atmosphere in the hostel is fun with friendly people and a nice opportunity to meet other travellers.

Review 6:The staff if they are not busy can meet you at the station when you arrive to Yalta and bring to the hostel. They also send you all directions to the hostel after boooking confirmation. The place is located in old Yalta - if you go up you can easlily find a bus stop to Livadia & Vorontsov palaces, Swallow nest.

Review 7:Hardcore

Review 8:Going up by stairs from the main street to the hostel is a bit hard after a long day

Review 9:Very nice and friendly people (both staff and guests :)

Review 10:I liked the overall atmosphere of Sobaka hostel and the staff was very very helpful. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, the kitchen is ready for any culinary experiment. Although we didn't use the chance, they also organize trips to various sights.

Review 11:Very nice stuff, friendly hosts, comfortable rooms and location and amazing international atmosphere inside :) And free hiking for all comers as well! There are only good impressions from being there)

Review 12:A bit tricky to find, only 2 showers available for all visitors - may take time to wait for your turn

Review 13:Very special friendly international atmosphere, very helpful staff, funny name of a hostel and its' design elements =)

Review 14:1. Really difficult to find. It is reasonable to call the staff and ask to meet you.

Review 15:1. Staff and generally friendly atmosphere. It is really a place where you can meet new people; 2. Clean; 3. It is really difficult to find, but once you do it, you are rewarded by a nice location: the area is green and pleasant, and it is about 15 min. pleasant walk to the center.

Review 16:Shower was a problem, did not work properly.

Review 17:Small new-builded private hostel with a charm in the old part of the town. The owner is a young guy very helpful and friendly. The hostel is styly decorated with a humour. Nice athmosphere. Very quite place. Comfortable big bed. The kitchen is functional.

Review 18:This hostel is located a good 15-minute bus ride from the city center,so it's not convenient for stumbling back from a late night of drinking, but for the money, cleanliness, and service, you can't beat it(especially since accommodation in Yalta is sky-high price-wise)! Olegwas more than hospitable and friendly, and even shared some of hisdinner with me! I felt very comfortable here and would highly recommendto others. It's a brand new hostel (only 2 months), so if you are scaredoff by the lack of reviews, this is the reason for it! Cheers, Sobaka!
