Reviews for Oak Creek Terrace Resort
Review 1:There was no phone in our room. The wifi signal was pretty much non existent. The hot water ran out quickly so filling the hot tub was a little bit of a process. Overall still loved our stay though.
Review 2:The grounds were beautiful. The room was comfortable and the fireplace was great.
Review 3:Just to say...bathroom floor tile slippery (no water on floor)--my hubbie & I both slipped but caught ourselves before falling. Be careful!
Review 4:The bubbling creek on the property! Clean room with hot tub-very pleasant! Ready for us. Quiet--YES! (away from the road) Comfortable bed. Fireplace. Thank YOU!
Review 5:My only complaint is I wish there were not solar tubes over the bed. I am not an early riser so I would love less light in the room.
Review 6:The room was very comfortable with a fireplace and the bathtub. The staff was excellent and we were able to park right up to unit. We loved that we could have our pet. The grounds were lovely--just an overall great experience.
Review 7:I didn't like the morning check-out worker. He didn't seem to value my opinion about how to clean the dusty air-conditioner ventilation screens (they were very dusty). He was in a rush to get the key and send us on our way. Personally, I hope he changes his attitude or finds a job that doesn't require him to communicate with customers. That was not how we wanted to start our morning on vacation.
Review 8:I'm 6'9"; my girlfriend and I both fit into the Jacuzzi bathtub. The indoor fireplace comes with a free 1.5 hour match-lit burning log. The night-shift staff (the guy with the nice truck) was very kind to us. He told us information about trails in the area and gave us a free trail-parking permit. Our king-size bedroom had wooden floors, a shower with LED lights on the sprayer, a flat-screen TV, a fireplace, and cool window shades. The coffee-maker was also very new.
Review 9:narrow water closet, difficult to use, small shower in comparison to Large jetted tub/spa. Bathroom needs to be redesigned. Floors were not swept second day of stay. On-line pictures showed rooms with fireplaces, which we did not get.
Review 10:Staff was excellent. Roomy bedrooms.
Review 11:My particular room was dated. The Jacuzzi was stained and looked dirty, The toilet was so close to the sink I had to sit sideways on the seat.
Review 12:The property was very beautiful with plenty of places to relax outside and take in the views and the sound of the creek. The accommodations away from the road appear much nicer than those up by the road.
Review 13:The location was beautiful and peaceful. Very nice staff. We loved that the creek was walking distance and the hamoocks by the Creek. Very relaxing!can't forget it's very pet friendly!
Review 14:The room was poorly furnished. The bathroom was very small, with no place to put anything .
Review 15:The location was very nice, a creek right outside are door. The motel is about 3 miles out of town, which was good for us. Very quiet.
Review 16:I was under the impression I was given a free upgrade for accessibility reason and was charged an additional 55
Review 17:Excellent overall. Would love to go back
Review 18:Very compact bathroom could be challenging for big people. No breakfast (not really a problem, just sayin'.)
Review 19:A perfect little oasis for a solo traveler seeking peace and quiet away from Sedona's commercialism. Very relaxing grounds with plenty of creek frontage. In-room jacuzzi with very hot water. A fun place to stay without being pretentious.
Review 20:We were looking for a location on Oak Creek to take our daughter and grandson to, similar to one my wife and I enjoyed in Oct. 1964. This fit the bill well, we all liked our stay. Thank You.
Review 21:It was just a weekend trip and we expected the room to be cleaned when we got back at the end of the day. We couldn't tell if they had been there or not.
Review 22:This place was so unique! We were looking for a place that was personal, whimsical, and close to nature. We got it all!
Review 23:Advertised as free internet service but on check-in found the "small print" stating internet service not available in most areas of the property, including our cabin. Also, the room had a giant Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom but we would have preferred a larger bathroom.
Review 24:Nice, comfortable place to stay in a great location! Our small bungalow was cute and quiet.
Review 25:The weekend traffic on Saturday was pretty constant and made the trip into town difficult, but I guess that's due to Sedona's popularity.
Review 26:Quiet, comfy and cool location.
Review 27:Says free WiFi everywhere. But you can only get it if you are up by the office. Also no cell service there. Stayed 3 nights, no maid service. They dropped off clean towels the second day, but didn't clean the room.
Review 28:Nice and secluded. About 5 miles out of Sedona.
Review 29:The room #23 was very poorly put together, there was split closet doors for the bathroom and they were all banged up. Things are very dated!! Moved the nightstand to plug my phone charger in and it was very dirty with dead bugs. Was not impressed!!!!!!
Review 30:The grounds are wonderful right off the creek and the outdoor patios are nice.
Review 31:Not a major problem, by any means, but the accommodations are somewhat dated, mattress could be more comfortable. Cabin was a bit cramped, especially the bathroom.
Review 32:Property is nicely located, close to the creek. Room was very clean. Property is beautiful.
Review 33:Critters in room Only could use starter logs Furniture outside should be cleaned every day with leaf blower
Review 34:Grilling option with kitchenette Spa tubes Scenery and landscape Cleanliness Location love koi
Review 35:The room is in need of renovations. Updates were good, but caulk and molding were craked in some areas.
Review 36:Loved the location and the staff. Also loved the jacuzzi in the room!
Review 37:Nothing! I'm already planning a family trip so that my wife may enjoy the scenery and stay as well.
Review 38:Very comfortable. The nicest place I've ever stayed as far as comfort, location, and cleanliness!
Review 39:stayed for five nights, had 2 small bedside cabinets and a small hanging space, had to live out of suitcases asked at reception was told thats it ,next door, same room type had a big chest of drawers.
Review 40:nice place,
Review 41:All it's missing is a pool.
Review 42:Very cute place with spacey clean room with lots of amenities. Convenient location to all of Sedona's hot spots. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.
Review 43:The cleanliness was kind of an issue. It wasn't gross, but there were some hairs on the floor and in the bathroom. There was also some mold in the shower. Again, it wasn't gross to us but if you are REALLY picky then it might bother you. Otherwise we thought it was lovely!
Review 44:I loved the gorgeous location and the rooms were very cute.
Review 45:The room we had was wonderful, clean, beds were comfortable. There were separate sleeping rooms for 2 families. Great relaxing area right outside our room, gazebo, tables and a bbq grill. Staff was so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be back very soon!!
Review 46:The biggest negative we had was the fact that you allowed "large" dogs when it specifically says small dogs allowed. We could not sit out by the stone wall in the chairs provided because of the barking dogs in #14 and others that were being taken on walks to and from the creek and to do their business below us!!!!!!!!
Review 47:Nice atmosphere and great location!
Review 48:rooms not really clean. found a lot of hair on bed sheets and pillows that were not ours when we checked in and didn't smell fresh, and clean. room very small.
Review 49:beautiful property.
Review 50:The room was small and did not have a place to write or play cards. Also, there was no seating , except for the bed. The space was taken up by a double jacuzi., and fireplace. Facility was clean and well kept. Staff were extremely helpful.
Review 51:Rustic setting and location near Oak Creek.
Review 52:Room was dirty. No wifi we were in a cabin by creek. Had to ask for extra toilet items. Loft was hot , air did not work well. Hard to get to.Said hammocks by creek one hammock a joke.
Review 53:Koi pond
Review 54:Being that it was just me and my husband I rented a room rather than larger accommodations, and I will say the rooms are very small, but very cute and clean. It would've been difficult to stay in the room with a child. Next time I hope to rent one of the larger bungalows.
Review 55:Growing up in the area, I had wanted to stay here since I was a kid (this also speaks to the staying power of this hotel as it has been there for 35+ years). I finally got my wish and it did not disappoint. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful, and there are many different spots to relax and soak it all in. I loved the terracing, the many levels of hang out spots, and the creek access. As a bonus the koi pond was particularly entertaining. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but the Dairy Queen across the street had a little coffee shop that also had breakfast. I can't wait to stay here again.
Review 56:No stove in kitchen area. Limited overall kitchen facilities. Lacked comfortable indoor seating.
Review 57:The views and the creek were nice. The grounds were well kept.
Review 58:Breakfast would have been nice, but it did not detract from the experience
Review 59:I loved the location and the view. Staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
Review 60:They advertise WiFi, but it simply does not work in that area. It was one of the reasons we booked there. They should be more honest in advertising. There was leak in the refrigerator so floors were wet. Very small shower!
Review 61:Nice location, pretty setting
Review 62:Maybe a sweep once in awhile to get rid of the spider webs. Other and other than that the place was so beautiful.
Review 63:Very relaxing atmosphere. Home away from home. This is where I will stay every time I visit Sedona
Review 64:Beautiful place, most comfortable hotel beds/pillows I've everslept on! I never usually review places but this is well deserved!Lovely seating area outside and bbq. Wish we could stay longer!
Review 65:Very friendly staff and excellent ambiance. The room was nice and clean and we loved all of the foliage and fountains! It was a very relaxing place to stay.
Review 66:The location is out of town away from all the congestion and noise. And the facilities include places to sit alongside the creek. The rooms have a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub and a comfortable bed. We will return.
Review 67:Floor in our room, tile, could use a good cleaning.
Review 68:Friendly staff that went way out of the way to accommodate me and my needs. Lovely surroundings. Gave good advice on what to do while visiting.
Review 69:We didn't use the heart-shaped jacuzzi tub because we noticed there was some kind of build up around the jets that kind of creeped us out.
Review 70:The grounds and the creekside location were really nice. Room size was a plus and it appeared that updating was in progress. Water pressure was strong and the lighted shower head added ambiance :) Parking was ample right in front of our cabin. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price was good for the area. We would stay here again, hopefully longer next time.
Review 71:Such charm! The creek! Fun landscaping! 1st room had a problem with the air conditioning, sweet lady at desk up graded our room without any hesitation! I love that kind of coustomer service!
Review 72:If you need internet, you are out of luck, very tucked into the canyon. This place is forgetting about all that and enjoying the beauty of the canyon and Oak Creek.
Review 73:Staff very friendly and helpful, very quiet and wonderful to just relax. There is a Dairy Queen right across the street for the kids, but closes at 8 pm. Just a great place to spend a couple nights. Right down the road from Sedona shops and activities.
Review 74:The pillows were not comfortable.
Review 75:The view was amazing. Right near the creek too. The room was so charming and cozy. A fantastic value for the money. We will definitely be back. I have already talked about this place to family and friends. The staff was awesome, also. Thank you
Review 76:I figured we would get a better room for $200 a night. (Taxes and fees included). Cabin 12 was outdated, and not in a rustic, cute way. It screamed 1980 from the pearlescent painted walls, disco shower head, brass fireplace surround, track lighting, (with mismatched and burnt out bulbs). carpet-sided jacuzzi and kitchen bar. We kept getting granules on the bathroom counter no matter how many times I wiped it off--we think carpenter ants or termites were busy. Poorly matched paint patches and bad construction in general made this the opposite of the rustic retreat I had hoped for during our 20th wedding anniversary stay.
Review 77:The location beside the creek and away from the hustle of downtown Sedona was great. You could sit out on the patio and hear the leaves rustling, the birds singing, and the creek bubbling along.
Review 78:So, it took me 45 minutes to find the place as my gps couldn'tfind it. I finally found the motel and the keys that were given to medidn't fit my assigned room. Exchanged keys. New keys opened thedoor, and I interrupted a couple. Oooops! So, new keys, new room. Thenew keys didn't fit in the door assigned. I asked for a refund onmy room and I was off to the next motel. What a horrible end to avery long day!
Review 79:Beautiful location three miles outside of city center!
Review 80:I really enjoyed the serenity I experienced at the resort. Waking up to the sound of the birds and creek from my room was just what I needed to set the tone for a relaxing day. The jacuzzi tub was amazing and the room was beautiful (Room 15). I also thought it was wonderful the staff provide passes to the local parks/hiking sites in the area at no additional cost. It was so relaxing to sit by the creek with my toes in the water or nap in the hammocks. I definitely plan to go back again when I need some time to rest and relax from busy city life. I went by myself and felt completely safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Next time I plan to bring my dog! I am so grateful to have found such an amazing place that also accepts dogs. If you are looking for a nice place with some luxury included surrounded by nature, I would recommend this place.
Review 81:When the adjacent room used there shower or hot tub it gurgled in our tub and water came into the ton in our room. The bathroom was tiny.
Review 82:The surrounding views were beautiful it was clean
Review 83:We purposely chose a small room to keep our trip costs down, so it didn't have space for other places to sit in the room besides the bed. A small shelf in the bathroom would have helped to place some toiletries/make-up.
Review 84:Beautiful location, lots of outdoor amenities to enjoy the incredible view.
Review 85:If you are looking for a five star up-scaled resort, this is not for you. If you are looking for a path less traveled this facility works beautifully.
Review 86:The landscaped grounds were beautiful. The cottages with outdoor living areas fit the setting and while older nicely decorated.
Review 87:Shower very small. Water pressure in shower was low.
Review 88:The creek was amazing and very close. Close to town but far enough away from all the hustle and bustle. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 89:Could not get the Wi-Fi,the over powering smell of bleach when we first got there. Was expecting room to be cleaned but bed sloppily made and towels left on counter.
Review 90:The view is incredible, the bed was comfy.
Review 91:Maid service was almost nonexistent. We had to pester the front desk personnel to get what we needed. The front desk people were very accommodating.
Review 92:The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful
Review 93:Wish there was a quality restaurant within walking distance. But it was a short drive back into Sedona.
Review 94:A beautiful, well-managed and cared-for resort. The room was very comfortable. The grounds were lovely...and the porch in back had really cool, relaxing swings. The walk to the river was very nice
Review 95:This was a last minute decision to stay here and the minute we pulled up I fell in love. Everything about this place just makes you feel peaceful. I can't wait to come back and take a nap in the hammock next to the creek.
Review 96:There was a lot of climbing up and down hills but that's also the beauty of it. Our room had a spiral staircase that was near impossible to get our suitcase up.
Review 97:It was so peaceful there. Just relaxing on the upper deck of our mini castle after a jacuzzi with the wife. I wish we would have spent more time doing that. We had a wedding there at the resort so we were very busy. The staff was very helpful moving outdoor furniture around for us. Supplying us with things we needed. The staff was so accommodating and friendly!
Review 98:Room was not the best but we took the least expensive room;21. Has a stair to get to bathroom, the wife broke her toe on the step. No storage in room. Other rooms looked better.
Review 99:Location by creek and grounds were very nice. Green grass area near creek with Gazebo for very relaxing time. About 20 minutes or less from town of Sedona. Will go back (with a different room).
Review 100:I didn't really like the pillows (too big for sleeping).
Review 101:I love that the rooms are spaced out so you feel like you have some privacy and it's dog friendly which is a nice bonus. Oh and of course the creek on the location is great!
Review 102:Property runs from the main road through Oak Creek Canyon right down to the Creek. Private screened-in patio with well-equipped outdoor cooking/eating area came with our unit. Comfortable room with Jacuzzi tub for two. Quiet, lush gardens with artistic touches everywhere. Koi pond full of gorgeous fish.
Review 103:We liked that it was about 5 miles out of town, located on a creek and had a unique charm. Most rooms have a fireplace and jacuzzi. Not luxurious but cozy. Wonderful Indian Gardens Cafe right down the road for breakfast. Would definitely go stay there again.
Review 104:Smoke detector battery "died" during the night and kept beeping until I found it and pulled the battery. Overhead lite was out. Facilities are dated but appropriate for the area.
Review 105:The bed was fantastic. Hot tub was great.
Review 106:The bathroom is small and desperately in need up some updating as well as the rest of the room. Reception for wifi/tv is spotty at best.
Review 107:Beautiful location. Quiet setting. Very comfortable bed.
Review 108:Not much presence to make sure other people obey the leash regulations for animals. Nothing against well behaved animals staying near their family, but it's not cool to have them running about wildly and unattended
Review 109:Took advantage of the area around them. Lots of little spot to hang out. Loved the tube. Comfortable for our dog
Review 110:Our room was large and very comfortable. There was a bbq and outdoor furniture right outside our room, which we made use of. Loved exploring the creek behind the hotel. Had a great time!
Review 111:The shower area was small and the spray was high and could not be altered. I could barely get the spray to hit my head.
Review 112:I thoroughly liked the large room, the plush bath towels ( they are the best that I have ever used), the pet area, the outside patio area, and the price.
Review 113:The wi-fi didn't work down at our cabin. I had to walk up to the sitting area near the office.
Review 114:We had a cabin. It had a very nice bathroom, kitchenette, BarBQ, bed and double jacuzzi bath. Listening to the water run in the creek was very soothing.
Review 115:Room was small and bathroom especially so. Also, could feel breeze coming in the uninsulated walls and cabinets!
Review 116:hot tub, natural and woodsy property by the stream.
Review 117:Travel with my young daughter and shared our bed, slept very comfortably. We loved the jacuzzi and beautiful background of the property. We walked to the creek and enjoyed nature there.
Review 118:Little to no cell service with Verizion or AT&T.
Review 119:We rented the two bedroom. The layout was terrific. Very private with access to relaxing patio. Little unexpected touches made this very comfortable.
Review 120:WiFi was not strong at all and no TV reception. I didn't mind, but had twin toddlers with us so not much of an option for TV or music.
Review 121:Nice and secluded, very friendly staff, clean rooms and beautiful property. Will definitely be staying there again!
Review 122:The shower in cabin 20 was a joke also all furniture by thecreek is gone one of our favorite things about your property
Review 123:The referal to butterfly garden inn when you could not acomidate all of our needs great place with fantastic people and services loved it!
Review 124:Wasn't an awful experience. It wasn't very clean and since i pay money for their services i expect cleanliness as one of the services provided. Our in room phone didn't work, nor did our porch light. The linen on the bed was not clean. Bathroom wasn't clean, or jacuzzi tub either.
Review 125:I like the location. The scenery is beautiful.
Review 126:gurguling drain in tub.......fixed by putting water in tub.
Review 127:was worried about being next to road, but there was little if no traffic all night. comfortable stay
Review 128:There was a small step down between the two rooms that was not marked at all. Also, the steps to the bathroom were dangerous. Our friend came out of the bathroom & fell down the steps. We were not drinking!
Review 129:Very close to Sedona but not right in the hub of everything. Very quaint & quiet.
Review 130:I felt that for the $180 we paid that the room needs a lot of updating!!! The flooring is cheap pergo, the Jacuzzi is from the 1950's, the cabinets need upgrading and the bathroom could be cleaned better.
Review 131:This property is nestled in the mountains that make it peaceful and quaint. Loved the outside as far as curb appeal. The Bed was great!
Review 132:Facilities miss stated. Hot tub was old jet tub that had seen better days. Room was tiny, it was an old 1950's motel that was renovated cheaply
Review 133:Setting was nice
Review 134:We stayed in the basic suite so fit was pretty tight for room for the price. We will probably stay in a bigger room next time.
Review 135:Location, beautiful place, very relaxing.
Review 136:Neighbours... They watched TV with sound up until the wee hours of the night (bring earplugs!). Sound insulation is not the greatest.
Review 137:We had a nice, clean room (22) which was just right for our family.
