Reviews for Riverside Hotel
Review 1:Indoor restaurant spaces are not inviting. When I came in for dinner at 8:30 no one was in them, and a few were outdoors, but it was too cold to sit there unless next to a heater. That is late for a Sunday, but the Restaurant across the street was more inviting, so I went there.
Review 2:All the staff I interacted with were great. No bartender was in the bar by the street, so I went to the one off the lobby and he was very engaging.
Review 3:*Air Conditioning very noisy. *Unable to leave balcony door/window open for security reasons. *No mirror over dressing table. *No handrail in bath - quite slippy
Review 4:*Great location. *Heated swimming pool. *Friendly & helpful staff. *Water taxi closeby. *Riverbank walk.
Review 5:We were there for 2 nights only and there was nothing wrong.
Review 6:Centrally located with access to the strip outside, shops and beach. Shuttle bus to the beach runs past. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Review 7:Our room was not ready and had provided the exact estimated check in time. The water in the shower was ice cold both at night and in the morning. Not worth over the $330. spent for one night. Will never recommend and never visit again...and I live in South Florida.
Review 8:Location
Review 9:Quite old rooms
Review 10:Unbeatable location directly at Las Olas Ave in Fort Lauderdale. If you like good restaurants, bars and shopping in boutiques in walking distance then this is the place to go
Review 11:Lack of self-parking. Public or valet parking only. For the price one would expect robes provided. Room door slammed itself shut. Could not turn off light at desk without unplugging it, maybe that was just me.Musty smell in room, guess to be expected due to location, southern FL, and age of building. Smell dissipated after ac ran for awhile.
Review 12:Great location. Friendly staff. Beautiful lobby, nicely decorated for Christmas. Beds are very comfortable. Loved the "old" charm feel of the property.
Review 13:For the price I paid I wasn't terribly impressed with the room we were given, it wasn't all that clean. Also parking was outrageous but I guess that's to be expected if you're in the middle of the city!
Review 14:Great location, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful hotel, lobby, etc.
Review 15:I purchased pastry from pastry shop across the street as I had to leave before breakfast for my flight and when I opened my pastry box it was full of bugs. Room needs to be fumigated.
Review 16:Great location and staff and the room was pretty
Review 17:The pillows were too hard...which made it difficult to get comfortable..
Review 18:the location...beautiful area around the hotel and the closeness to the waterways
Review 19:Wish they had free shuttle from airport but, we had a wonderful stay! I defintely will come back.
Review 20:Love the location!!! Great place to stay and walk around Las Olas.
Review 21:I honestly didn't have any bad experiences. People complain about the mandatory $27 valet fee, but you're at a nice hotel and you can come in and out all day. There's little to no street parking.
Review 22:Don't let the street view of this hotel throw you off, the actual hotel entrance is around the back and is completely different. This is absolutely beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The Wild Sea restaurant attached to the hotel is fantastic with a nice selection of seafood and wines. Service is fantastic and very friendly. I was there for 2 nights and even drove back up north an hour to stay one more night because it was so nice. The location is perfect if you don't want to drive--there's plenty of places to eat and drink within an immediate walking distance.
Review 23:Internet speed was slow and kept dropping out. We were at street level, the Lightning was very dim so you need the curtains open to find anything in your bag. Unfortunately there were no sheer curtains, so if u wanted more light u were exposed to people passing on the street, tricky!
Review 24:Excellent position, right in the middle of shops, restaurants etc.Staff were all lovely, hotel had the old world charm. Breakfasts were great , we didn't get to try the evening meal
Review 25:We were married at the Riverside in 1995. We celebrated our 20th Anniversary there we have celebrated other anniversaries there also. It is a wonderful place.
Review 26:We enjoyed our stay.
Review 27:I loved the riverwalk in the morning, the pool in the afternoon, music on the front patio in the evening and the great shops and restaurants within walking distance on Las Olas at night.Thanks. We'll be back!
Review 28:We paid more for a room with a balcony. I assumed there would some kind of great view. We didn't use the balcony at all.
Review 29:The staff was great. The rooms were very nice. Breakfast was really good. No real complaints.
Review 30:Lily checked us in and was extremely rude. We have never been to this hotel prior, and we're asking her where valet was located. There are no signs in the front of the hotel as to where valet is located. She didn't use any directional terms to direct us to the valet, but said ( with an attitude and eye roll) "it's right there", and pointed. Extremely rude.
Review 31:clean, great location
Review 32:View was of the air conditioners on the roof but the price was cheap and I guess it was the only room left!
Review 33:Very close to great dining and shopping. Very comfortable stay!
Review 34:Bad room, a/c didn't work properly, noise! Be very careful whereyour rm is located. Mexican Tile floors in hall. You hear everything. The maids pushed their carts up and down all day over the tile.Maddening.
Review 35:Sheets were awful stiff and itchy! Upgraded for a bathtub expected it to be like the one on their web page it was just a regular tub ;( very disappointed in tub!
Review 36:Location was awesome and hotel was very clean and well decorated
Review 37:Air conditioning in the room is very noisy and kept us awake, but too warm not to have it on. The is a road at the back of the hotel which is a little loud in the morning.
Review 38:Staff on arrival where extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is just a couple of miles walk to the beach, right in the middle of the main shopping area and social scene.
Review 39:There is no free parking for hotel guests. The hotel charges $27 per day for valet parking and self parkiing is just as expensive.
Review 40:The staff was real kind and helpful
Review 41:Conciege's arritude bordering rude. All other staff pleasant. Small issues - No replenishment of small toiletries in bathroom (4 night stay) and no magnifying makeup mirror. Pillow menu, bathrobes and slippers we would've thought would be a given for a hotel of this calibre.
Review 42:Location, comfort, cleanliness, size (Tower block) and awesome live music in the weekend. Even though our room had only city views - was lovely with private balcony.
Review 43:The older rooms in the historic tower are well appointed and functional but small. Not bad though.
Review 44:Liked the buzz of the East Las Olas strip and its bars, galleries and shopping.
Review 45:Nothing significant to complain about for our 1 night visit. Only minor issue; don't use the bell captain for the $25 "shuttle" to the airport. We asked for a taxi, got listed for the shuttle. It did not show up on time, so we took a taxi; easy to get and only $16.00 plus tip. Why do great places like the Riverside screw up on things like this???
Review 46:This is a beautiful hotel in a great location, right on las Olas Blvd by lots of great restaurants and shops. Just a short walk to the Water Taxi stop, a must-do for visiting Ft Lauderdale. Spent a night here after a cruise. Will definitely be back.
Review 47:I did not like the way the outside was ignored in the evening. You need to research why everyone prefers other restaurants nearby. The food and position are first class
Review 48:I liked the breakfast outside in the morning. Lovely position
Review 49:Our room was in the old building. The room was fine but the bathroom was ridiculously small. The outlet for the hair dryer was on the back wall next to the door
Review 50:We've stayed at the Riverside before and love the ambiance and location.
Review 51:Everything, situation of hotel, lovely walks on boulevard, lovely restaurant where we ate a few times, loved the breakfasts. the staff very all adorable very accomodating in every way. thank you
Review 52:Only item we did not like was the capacity to accommodate hair styling tools in the bathroom; however this was not a game changer. This could be improved if there was a mirror in the room in addition to the one in the bathroom.
Review 53:Loved the location, the appearance of an old world hotel with a modern addition. We found the staff to be superb in assisting us with our request.
Review 54:The location is perfect, is near from the beach, there are restaurants, stores, etc The room are comfortables and clean! The restaurant is nice has a good service
Review 55:More vegetarian options in the breakfast menu. Everything revolves around eggs, meat. and seafood in 99% of the restaurants of Ft. Lauderdale and the Riverside Hotel is no exception to this.
Review 56:Riverside Hotel wins hands-down when it comes to location. It is right in the middle of the Las Olas Blvd where you can find great restaurants all in a block's radius! It is very close to the River Taxi that will take you to Hollywood Beach in 45 mins and is less than a 30 mins walk to the beach itself. It has an old school look with great interiors and views. Also, very helpful valet, bell-staff, and concierge. Do ask for the Everglades tour -- it cost us only $55/head with pick-up and drop from the hotel.
Review 57:Very confused staff on many levels. Booked wrong room for my kids, cancelled my room, rebooked my room, etc. How does someone call a hotel due to a booking problem and then just 4 hours later have their reservation cancelled? Too much confusion for me. I need dependable.
Review 58:This has always been my only choice of hotels in Fort Lauderdale but this hotel staff has issues and I'm open to other choices now. Too bad!
Review 59:Location is perfect for shops and restaurants. Nice reception area and bar. Most Fantastic staff who found our passports and money and kept them for us until we managed to drive back; thank you Dieulia Da Vilmar, you're a star!
Review 60:Love everything about the hotel not one complaint

Review 91:Location & comfort & staff great!

Review 97:The room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff was very helpful & pleasant.
Review 98:Very clean and comfy. I like the way the room was set up. Bluetooth was a nice feature for music.
Review 99:Room had a damp mouldy smell and the bed felt damp
