Reviews for Cedars Resort
Review 1:We had absolutely no hot water in the room for anything in the cold winter in Sedona, told the front desk Mike, he said to wait for 5 mins and try again, 30 mins later still nothing, called him again and was told there was nothing he could do, and said he couldn't predict what's going to happen in the future so the only option for us was to wait for hot water to come back up or if no luck then no shower. He didn't call back to check on us neither had he apologize for the situation, not to mention he didn't even care most likely. So we spent the night with no shower and had to use ice cold water to clean up. Room had no kettle to boil hot water either. Just given a coffee pot with sugar and cream for 1 person. No slippers nor shower cap ( oh right! Why would there as we couldn't take a shower anyway! ) Told the housekeeping guy in the morning at check out so he could check to make sure there was indeed no hot water, he felt really bad and apologized to us, which we truly appreciate his genuine sympathy. It's not a resort in my opinion, I am a frequent traveler and have experienced all kinds of accommodations and understand what a RESORT mean. This is basically a motel located in a very nice area with pretty good view to the mountains, if that's what you are looking for and the only thing you need for the night, this is the place to stay.
Review 2:Location is perfect, few minutes walking to downtown. Beautiful view to the red rock mountains with balcony. Pool would be nice in the summer time.
Review 3:No bad experience. We've been to Sedona many times and this was a first at the Cedars Resort. We will be back when we get the chance.
Review 4:We had the end room upstairs and there was a little balcony - the view from our room was lovely.
Review 5:dusty plastic plants in room, dated room, tiny bathroom, iron bed frame was sticking out underneath mattrass and almost hurt my knee in the dark.
Review 6:Location close to town centre of Sedona combined with stunning views of red rocks and creek.
Review 7:We bought a bottle of wine and didn't have a cork screw went to front desk they didn't also.
Review 8:When I walked in room it was dark so I opened the curtains and loved what I saw my jaw dropped it was breath taking what a view
Review 9:There's not much to complain about it! This past visit one of the pillows had a black stain on the pillow case but other than that things were great!
Review 10:We love the view from the balconies! Mike at the front desk is awesome and so welcoming! We also love the location! Great price for a great hotel!
Review 11:Outstanding view as our room with balcony was overlooking the Oak Creek & some amazing sandstone mountains. We turned climate control off & slept with the slider door open & could hear the Oak Creek! Room was nice, loved the stained glass in bathroom. Jacuzzi was great; pool/jacuzzi area have the same view as the room which was awesome. Walking distance to all the restaurants/bars/shops. We'll stay here again! 2 thumbs up!!
Review 12:Location was good . staff were very helpful and friendly the place was very clean and that is very important to me . Linens were fresh and clean. The Decor did not match. furniture is modern and the paintings and wall acc. were very dated.
Review 13:This is the second time we have stayed here. Lovely clean rooms balcony with outstanding red rock views and an ideal location just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. Friendly helpful staff. Can't fault it at all.
Review 14:I wish we could have stayed a few extra days....
Review 15:Amazing location with relation to Grand Canyon, and the adorable town of Williams. B&B is an amazing structure with captivating views and lovely furnishings and appointments. Convenient, comfortable and breakfast was amazing. Bill and Gloria were fabulous hosts.
Review 16:Slightly concerned after reading a couple of reviews but we were very happy. Our balcony overlooked the red rocks which were fantastic. Would be happy to stay again,
Review 17:The TV reception was poor. There wasn't any instruction on the use of phone or TV. No note pad to jot instructions. Mirror not cleaned and lotion in a DRY climate would be nice.
Review 18:The view off the balcony. The ease of parking. Friendly female cleaners we saw. Enough chairs in room. Comfortable bed. Good lighting. Front desk person was helpful with recommendations.
Review 19:The location is perfect. Although at a busy intersection, the rooms overlooking Oak Creek are quiet and seem secluded. Stunning views of the red rock from the balconies.
Review 20:Hot tub did work an there were not switches or instructions on how to turn on. Bed was not very comfortable, especially pillows which offered no support.
Review 21:Location and the views are spectacular!
Review 22:Wasn't particularly clean. Clean except for bath tub and a few flying bugs of some sort.
Review 23:The view out the back window was very beautiful. Oak Creek and the red rock hills beyond.
Review 24:No microwave. No complimentary breakfast. Small refrigerator. Bathroom and catpeting could use facelift.
Review 25:Walking distance to uptown. Gorgeous red rock views from balcony & pool. Unexpected view of and closeness of Oak Creek. Free & convenient parking. Excellent pool and hottub hours. No traffic noise. All King rooms have balcony and view.
Review 26:The title "Resort" suggested more to me than is justified - this is just a Motel with a pool. It is a bit old fashioned and in need of some attention.
Review 27:Great location, clean and spacious room. No sink in bathroom, only in main bedroom area.
Review 28:Would be nice to include breakfast, but the room had a small refrigerator so we had plenty of food with us.
Review 29:Perfect location in the middle of Sedona. The view from the first floor rooms is spectacular. Patio overlooking creek is very quiet, only nature sounds, no street noise. Right on the creek, with a nice set of stairs to get to it.(rustic, not meant for anyone with serious balance or walking issues).
Review 30:No breakfast
Review 31:Beautiful view Stunning view of red rocks Room was clean and bed comfy Carpet was very thick and comforts to walk on Sedona it's self is stunning and hotel in excellent location
Review 32:Not pleased w towels. Too thin, small and rough.
Review 33:Fabulous view Great location, off red rocks right outside our balcony. Oak Creek behind our room so we could hear a soft rushing to put us to sleep.
Review 34:Some people might find the hotel rooms a little bit out of date. But this didn't bother us because the bed was comfortable and there was more than enough room. The view was outstanding. We did not spend very long in our rooms anyway.
Review 35:We were welcomed kindly. Our rooms were taken care of every day. The housekeeping staff was polite and funny. The front desk staff was very helpful. The location is absolutely gorgeous. And the cost was amazing. It was less than half of what any of the other hotels in the area were. This hotel is seated right in the middle of both busy areas. But its not busy right in this direct area. You can walk a few blocks in either direction and find food music and entertainment. I'm so glad I studied up and found this place.
Review 36:We had a bad experience not related to the resort. We were walking in a small center to find a breakfast restaurant reccommended by the motel clerk and my wife tripped, fell and broke her right hip and suffered a concussion. She was in the hopspitl at Flagstaff for 6 days before we returned home. We were to stay two nights at Cedar Resort but because of my wife's injury we had to miss the second night. My understanding is that the resort will credit back our payment for the second night that we were unable to stay which is generous of them.
Review 37:The beautiful view ffom the room and from the balcony. The sound of the creed from the balcony. The careful maintenance of the resort.
Review 38:The room wasn't what we expected from the website. It was dated and needed a thorough cleaning. We thought we'd be able to meander down the walkway and perhaps see Oak Creek but everything was padlocked. No amenities. Not our idea of a resort, more of a motel.
Review 39:The location was good. Close to everything., within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. The view from the balcony was very nice.
Review 40:There is a beautiful view of Oak Creek and the red rocks from the balconnies. It is in a very good location. They no longer offer a breakfast but do have coffee and there is a Starbucks across the street. The staff are very nice.
Review 41:Nothing.
Review 42:Cedar's resort is a beautiful hotel in a even more beautiful town. The view from our room and the pool was spectacular; in the evening we sat on our balcony and just enjoyed the scenery. The rooms were clean. big and comfortable. An additional breakfast would have made it perfect.
Review 43:The AC did not work very well and the spa at the pool was broken.
Review 44:Staff at desk was fantastic- Rick was great. Location and view- incredible. Nice & Quiet!
Review 45:A/C unit was too loud - kept kicking on all night and waking us up - couldn't be adjusted. Bed and pillows pretty uncomfortable. No cable services on the t.v. - not even pay-per-view.
Review 46:Unsurpassed views - as good as any 5 star hotel in Sedona!!!!!!!!
Review 47:Decor a bit outdated, and room could use a fresh coat of paint.
Review 48:The view from the balcony is AMAZING!! The front desk and cleaning staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 49:I do t see how they can call themselves a resort when they have nothing to offer. Our room was dirty the baseboards had thick dust on them, there we cobwebs in the bathroom. None of the trash cans had trash bags in them. The towels had stains on them. The decor was really out dated. And to top it off the sink was leaking all over the floor. I would not stay here again
Review 50:The only thing we liked about this hotel was the view
Review 51:The view was wonderful if we didn't have huge trees right in front of our patio. We had to stand in certain areas of the patio to actually see the view. The room also needs to be updated a little . They were also not pet friendly.
Review 52:The customer service was great.
Review 53:During our final night there, we could hear everything the people upstairs were doing and saying. It wasn't sound proof at all. It ruined my last night there. If we stay there again, I will definitely request a room on the top floor.
Review 54:We loved the location. It was so beautiful to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. The staff was very friendly.
Review 55:No breakfast. At the price we paid for our room, breakfast really should be provided, or at least gift certificates for local businesses. We paid almost 3x the amount we paid at the likes of best western, holiday inn, even econolodge, all of which provided very good and simple breakfasts.
Review 56:Stunning Location!! Absolutely beautiful views. Very comfortable rooms.
Review 57:Any other place in US this would have been a $59.00 to $79.00 motel room, but because it was in center of Sedona it cost 2X. . This is AZ, pool had NO shade, minimal facilities , what you would see in any roarside motel.
Review 58:Not much.
Review 59:The customer service of the gentleman when we arrived was fantastic, he was more than happy to answer all of our questions we asked. The view out of our bedroom was AMAZING!
Review 60:Overall everything was great but it would have been ideal if a basket breakfast was waiting at your door in the morning, fruit nd rolls would have been a treat.
Review 61:Having a deck over looking the Oak Creek and mountains was extremely relaxing.
Review 62:I had reserved the room with 1 credit but upon check in I gave them another and explained to them to charge that card not the one they had on file and they ended charging the credit card I told them not to charge.
Review 63:The location and views were wonderful!
Review 64:Had to clean leaves and peeled paint from bottom of pool and hot tub before use. Room wasn't ready till after 4 pm. Small bugs crawling on floor
Review 65:Good location. Great view,
Review 66:The view was wonderful, very relaxing room to sleep in. Great view from the patio. The maid staff where wonderful and talkative which made you fell very welcomed and took care of every need coffee, clean towels
Review 67:Found two hairs in the bed, wifi did not load basic pages and room had long-thread rugs and looked like it was out of a bad motel movie.
Review 68:The view from certain balconies is absolutely stunning, out of this world.
Review 69:The pool area had spectacular views but overall the pool was not inviting. The rooms were adequate but on the plain side. There was no separate bathroom/changing area. Of course,toilet/shower room was separate. No amenities otherwise. Don't see how it's called a resort.
Review 70:The location was great! The staff was very accomodating.
Review 71:Desk clerk was unable to figure out how to get on the wifi system- I had no address or passcode to work with. 2 days of not being able to work in my room.....this was a business trip. Dated room with popcorn ceiling and shag carpet. Hard to get in and out of the parking lot with increased traffic.
Review 72:The View- clean- maids did a good job.
Review 73:The bed was quite firm, and after two long days of hiking, it would have been nicer to have had a softer bed.
Review 74:The location was great. You could hear oak creek from the room. The views were very good. The bed was ok, but for the price I thought it would be a little bit more comfortable. The shower head was pretty short as I had to duck a little to totally wash my hair, and I'm only 5'9" tall. The staff was very nice. The pool and Jacuzzi were both nice, and the pool deck also offered nice views.
Review 75:The balcony with a great view overlooking Oak Creek was a great place to relax with a glass of wine after a warm day of site seeing. The room was spacious with nice decorations. It also had a desk. My favorite was a comfortable wing chair with ottoman.
Review 76:The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We got there late evening and the restaurant recommended to us for dinner (The Hideway House) was perfect - walking distance and amazing food. Room was a perfect size and we had a balcony looking out at the red rocks. We will definitely come back!
Review 77:Amazing view of Sedona's Red Rocks from our balcony. Right next to the expensive L'Auberge resort. We walked over there and had a luxury 5 star breakfast creek side.
Review 78:That we couldnt walk down to the stream...
Review 79:I loved the view, it was nice to wake up make coffee and sit on the balcony! We had a very nice and relaxing weekend.
Review 80:The views from the rooms are stunning. The hotel is older and could use some updates, but it is clean and comfortable. The location is great for walking to points of interest in Sedona.
Review 81:No complaints.
Review 82:The Cedars Resort is located in the heart of uptown Sedona near many shops and restaurants. It's also located right along Oak Creek, so make sure to get a creekside room which also provides a great view of the rocks from your balcony. Staff there also very friendly and helpful. Thanks again to Mike!
Review 83:The restaurant they recommended is not a good value for the money, actually is very expensive for mediocre type of food
Review 84:The location of the back building rooms is ideal almost magical
Review 85:Noise from rooms, and group of classic cars in parking lot making noise just pick a time when they were staying
Review 86:Easy walk to Main Street and best view of the mountains
Review 87:The location was perfect for us. In the middle of everything,it's on the river with view of Snoopy Rock and lots of shops/restaurants within walking distance.
Review 88:walls were thin... For the most part it good for us only one uncomfortable hearing people talking...
Review 89:Views from hotel were beautiful! We could walk to shops and restaurants.
Review 90:Decor is dated and rooms could use a refresh to the 21st century. Shag carpeting in a room is pretty sick... If you can get past that, the location is fantastic for the price and the service at the desk was great.
Review 91:Great location and value for the price.
Review 92:It could use some updating but otherwise it was fine.
Review 93:Close to lots of stores, restaurants and other interesting things. Easy parking and hotel has a great view.
Review 94:Next time I will get a second story room since the walls and floors are kinda thin. It would be quieter.
Review 95:The private balcony was awesome and overlooked the river valley. I sat out there and soaked up the morning sun while listening to the river below. lovely
Review 96:The location is amazing. We loved sitting on our "patio", listening to the stream and looking at the gorgeous red rocks. And so convenient to uptown.
Review 97:A little dated and bathroom small but the view and location made up for it.
Review 98:The balcony on upper floor facing the Red Rocks...ask for it. Best view of our life and we have travelled extensively in USA and Europe,Holy Lands. So grateful!
Review 99:No one at desk when I accidentally locked door on departure. Had to leave favorite coffee mug. Not enough towels. Have paid less for better looking room. Poor job vacuuming.
Review 100:View was great.
Review 101:Only one Front desk worker was stressed and not very friendly. Wish there were screen doors on the patio because listening to the creek would have been lovely. Moths were bad at night so we had to keep the glass doors closed. Very limited Television stations also.
Review 102:Convenience of parking right near our room. We were traveling with bikes so security was important. Pool was not heated when we visited in mid March but hot tub was nice. Wish even a continental breakfast was available but we walked to Creekside easily. Luckily we had a room on the creek side of the complex so no road noise. Only complaint was loud showers above us with early risers- like 5am. But that can't be helped in places with mostly short-stay visitors like us.
Review 103:Front service desk was not friendly and no restroom for guests in the lobby. We were set up to take a wine tour and they wouldn't let us check in early, yet they also would not allow us to use the restroom. Never experienced that before. Only 2 towels in the room and everything including products were cheep.
Review 104:Location and views from the room
Review 105:The resort needs upgrading. Bathrooms small and need to replace shower head. Not very sound proof. Listened to the people above us walking across the floor most of the night.
Review 106:Central location. We walked everywhere. Beautiful view from our room.
Review 107:Not being able to get into our room at couple of occasions due to the scanning of malfunctioning cards.
Review 108:The beautiful view from our room. The sound of the water running throughout and down the (arroyo). The friendly people met at the Hideaway Italian restaurant next to Cedar Resort at a walking distance.
Review 109:The limited 2 hour- availability of coffee/tea in the morning, the absence of writing paper or pen in room, no tv channel listings, dirty carpet are all things that could be corrected and make it a more appealing location. WiFi was not password protected.
Review 110:The amazing view and the location to downtown was great. The pool was clean and inviting. It was quiet at night.
Review 111:When you are basically just sleeping somewhere, why pay a fortune. If you want to come to such a beautiful place and stay in a room then maybe do something else. Great location with great view.
Review 112:The pictures on the website were deceiving. When we arrived I expected the hotel to look like the pic I saw online, but then I realized the pics were outdated.
Review 113:The location of the hotel was awesome. restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Review 114:Weather was cold so needed heater on at night which was somewhat noisy.
Review 115:Staff at reception very helpful and suggested good places for Dinner and Breakfast. Hotel well placed for looking at shops and sights and walking on trails.
Review 116:The heater was noisy.
Review 117:People were very nice and you cannot beat the view. The location was also good - you could walk to some of the shopping and dining. The rooms are a bit dated, but quaint.
Review 118:Desk staff said their having problems with housekeeper, our shower had hair on the walls and floor. Drain smelled up room. For the price, should include a small free breakfast...questions if bed sheets were cleaned.
Review 119:The views were awesome. Location was great. Desk staff friendly.
Review 120:The rooms are in need of updating Bathrooms outdated Room needs modernizing Uncomfortable side chairs Carpet outdated
Review 121:The staff was very friendly and courteous Good view Nice facility with great potential
Review 122:We were on the lower level and could hear guests walking above us and when they opened their sliding door. Maybe the track needs to be adjusted.
Review 123:We stayed three nights at Cedars Resort. It is an older facility but was clean and comfortable. Our housekeeper was a great guy and addressed our needs. The hot tub was awesome!!
Review 124:It was in desperate need of an update. From the shag carpet to the avocado green walls, it's a throwback to the '70s. It was a small room with silly nightlights on each light switch that stay on all night. Very little TV selection.
Review 125:The view from the window was wonderful. It's walking distance from many shops, restaurants, the Chamber of Commerce, bars. We enjoyed the hot tub.
Review 126:Wi-fi was not available in the room.
Review 127:The location was beautiful and the view from our room was wonderful. We could walk or drive to everything we wanted to see or do. the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. After a day of walking the hot tub was a welcome and relaxing end to the day.Wifi
Review 128:Can hear other guests upstairs if on lower level
Review 129:View was great Location is excellent within walking distance to uptown, liquor store, gas station, restaurants Hot tub and pool were clean
Review 130:The location is excellent so that you can walk to restaurants and shopping. As well as the view off your balcony of the mountains and creek below. The pool and hot tub was wonderful, located on a large balcony overlooking the creek with the same magnificent views!
Review 131:I booked rooms online from the pictures. The hotel looked nice but a little dated when we arrived at the room we were AMAZED!!!! the room was perfect it was clean and spacious very comfortable and going out on the balcony !!! Words can not describe what you see. The hotel is on a Picturesque spot that is truly a sight to be hold. Take it from a hotel snob who loves 5 star hotels I would stay at Ceders Resort over and over again
Review 132:Nothing
Review 133:Loved this hotel. Great location nice short walk in to the main area of sedona. Loveley room we had a private balcony overlooking the red rocks and Oak Creek. the hotel alos had a lovely garden area to sit in.
