Reviews for The Coho Oceanfront Lodge
Review 1:The bath was way to small and dark. When we booked our room we got a total cost then after we got there they added a dog fee of 20.00 a day we thought that we should have been told ahead of time.
Review 2:The view and bed was comfy also breakfast was good
Review 3:Absolutely no complaints!
Review 4:Very quiet and clean room on the 3rd floor overlooking the ocean. Absolutely loved the view and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Access to beach for walks was very convenient.
Review 5:Very thin walls. I could hear everything from the other rooms and hall
Review 6:The room was very cute. But the partial view of the ocean was a Lil strong. I had to open my door and turn the corner due to the rain I couldn't see anything. I guess I should read between the lines next time.
Review 7:Two flights of stairs to get to 3rd floor. Cord for coffee did not reach the outlet. Had to move the hot water maker for the French press to another location.
Review 8:Fantastic view. Comfortable room.
Review 9:I wanted a workout area, they have one but they don't open it on weekdays until 9 am. this is the off season so it will be mostly individuals like myself - business. they need to open the workout area at 5 or 6. by 9am I was gone. I wont use them again for this reason.
Review 10:Partial view too small. Bed not made in three days and had to ask for clean towels one day. Very little closet space and no drawer space and no light in the bar area.
Review 11:Location, fireplace in room, break fast
Review 12:The shower was quite small even for my 5'1, 100lb frame. Good luck trying to get in and not hitting the walls if your any bigger. The French press was ok, should have brought our own coffee because it just wasn't strong enough. Nice touch though!
Review 13:The size of the room was great for 2 of us and the view was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful. Mini fridge along with dishes, pots pans for cooking. We booked the King suite.
Review 14:Great value for the money. Great view, has everything you might need or want...microwave,refrigerator (bigger than most),DVD player (movies to checkout are available at front desk),wine and snacks are also available at the front desk, pool and spa, elevator(for those of us who don't do stairs very well anymore) So much more than just a place to sleep. And they offer special package and not just the couples kind but family packages too. Checkout The Coho I think you'll like it as much as we did. Oh and hot breakfast included.
Review 15:It was to bad s storm had come through with all the wind and rain. For us it seemed a little scary when they had warnings for 35-45 foot waves crashing in. Just not used to that maybe.
Review 16:It was great just staying on the waterfront
Review 17:While the coffee was fresh and tasty, I would of preferred to have anactual coffee pot in our room instead of a French press.
Review 18:The view from our room was awesome.
Review 19:I was charged on twice for the room and still waiting for my refund.mycard was not to be charged as I paid cash. This did make a financialissue for me so I'm quite disappointed.
Review 20:Very friendly and clean as well as honest. I left some jewelry in theroom upon check out and received a call from the staff regarding this.As I was already headed home they offered to mail it to me.Veryimpressed.
Review 21:On our first two visits our room was much nicer, than this visit ...Especially the bathroom or lack of the sink was in the guest room with no vanity!!!
Review 22:This is our third visit to your hotel. The view and amenities are lovely.
Review 23:The view was excellent. The rooms were updated and clean. The breakfast was awesome. It's close to part of the downtown Lincoln City area that's nice to walk. We checked out the shops and Prehistoric (museum) a long with a couple of dive bars, all within walking distance. The beach is is easy access and beautiful.
Review 24:I m from Alaska made my resavation over the phone when I show up there my cards would not go through and front desk wouldn't take half cash and half on card.
Review 25:Room was "crowded" - heat needed to be "spread out" - part of the room was too hot, part of the room (away from the heater) was too cold. Two queen sized beds would have been better than one king sized bed and a fold out couch.
Review 26:Location - view of ocean
Review 27:The price was a little high as the accommodation was nice, but, the place is older.
Review 28:The view was just lovely - watching high waves and walking on the beach. The breakfast were delicious.
Review 29:There was nothing particularly special about this place, but the staff was very friendly and attentive, we were very comfortable and had every amenity we wanted.
Review 30:Only complaint was the beach access was down the street, not too far. It was great to be able to sit out on the patio around the fires. The partial beach view for the room was more than I thought I would be able to see; able to see and hear the waves.
Review 31:I enjoyed the fireplace in the room; quiet cozy. The first night was a horrible downpour; it was fun to watch a movie in the room. Breakfast was good, waffles and biscuits and gravy were yummy. I liked that they had a separate adult section.
Review 32:The toilet area in the bathroom of the Fireplace Suite rooms is not very big. If you were a small person it would be fine, but for a normal or larger than average person the space between the toilet and shower is too small. Did not like that the sink was outside the bathroom either.
Review 33:We loved the location right above the ocean. The view from our Oceanside room was wonderful.
Review 34:I was disappointed in Unworkable Ice Machine near Us,Wasn't left w/any kind of notice.Kept trying between other's.Waste of time,Notice Please
Review 35:Waking to Morning Beach,My Room #47 was Perfect With the Twins,God Bless,Next Room I's Suite with balcony!*
Review 36:There was NOTHING bot to like. The staff was amazing, as was our room. I had an issue with our sofa sleeper in our first room. They upgraded us to a bigger room. It was doublely amazing. I recommend this place to everyone. Without a doubt one of the nicest and friendliest places I've stayed. Their breakfast was just as good.
Review 37:Coho was by far one of the nicest places I've stayed. I have lived in Oregon over 40 years, so I've stayed at many places. Coho was execptional. The staff was amazing,as was everything about this place. The view was wonderful. Ocean view from every room. The beach was just steps away.
Review 38:Very obvious attempt to sell "special touches" in the room at very high prices was unwelcoming.
Review 39:Location was great. Patio Overlooking the ocean with chairs was an especially enjoyable to enjoy the ocean.
Review 40:No beach access. The people next door paid a whole lot less after the guy said he gave me all the discounts. I had a severe allergic reaction to the sheets. Not sure if they were clean or what. Never had my face so red and blotchy.
Review 41:The breakfast. The modern look.
Review 42:Had to go to front desk each day to ask for coffee. Would be nice if that could be placed in rooms when cleaning each day.
Review 43:Lovely view. Clean, comfortable room. We also enjoyed the sitting area overlooking the beach to watch the sunsets.
Review 44:The mattress was too firm for our taste. The prices for the snacks in the room seemed excessive.
Review 45:The grass area outside the sliding door was very nice. We were a little worried, when we saw all the dogs around, that there would be a lot of barking, but it was quiet day and night. The grab bar in the shower was a good idea for us seniors. The breakfast was excellent.
Review 46:Room #50 needs a different sink area. You have to be a juggler to use toiletries, no counter space. We had to put some items on the floor as we used them. I would suggest taking the wide pedestal sink out and if possible putting in a small vanity with a smaller sink but some counter space on the sides.
Review 47:Good location, clean room
Review 48:The bed was not as comfortable as I would have hoped. We stayed in room 51... so maybe some rooms have better beds than others.
Review 49:Shane, at the front desk, was particularly helpful, informative, and professional.
Review 50:I purchased an ocean view suite with balcony and fireplace. When we arrived we were told by the day manager that that room was no longer available to us, subsequently putting us in a room under the stairs which wasn't even close to what we had already paid for. This bait and switch practice can not be tolerated and has to be bad for your business. This experience was not worth the 565.00 we paid for our three day stay.
Review 51:We liked our room once we got it.
Review 52:The staff was courteous & friendly, location was excellent, our oceanview room was immaculate & cozy. Free movies & games, fire pit sitting area a bonus!
Review 53:The only down fall is the bathroom is small with no counters.
Review 54:The view was the best! The bed was very comfortable. We will definately go back. Breakfast was great, and the french press coffee was excellent. The staff was awesome. The fire pits were a nice touch.t
Review 55:The bed wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked.
Review 56:Loved the seated area with the fire pits in the sand overlooking the ocean. Great location with ocean view and easy access to the beach.
Review 57:Even though everyone is made aware at check in time about the no smoking policy, people do not take it seriously. We saw two different women smoking and made the desk aware of the second person smoking off the balcony above the fire pits.
Review 58:Liked the room, it was a very partial view. Kinda sad about the description online. The staff was training a new person, and overall enjoyed our stay.
Review 59:Had requested a wake up call and did NOT receive one. Mattress was very uncomfortable Did not like a French Press coffee Room was hot and difficult to cool
Review 60:Really nothing was good
Review 61:Breakfast facility too cramped. Breakfast was poor and stale. Had a problem brought up to the desk and was told I would receive a call, but that never happened.
Review 62:The view
Review 63:Excellent accommodations! The staff were attentive to our needs and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our stay. The free breakfast was fresh and delicious.would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is coming to the coast!
Review 64:The lighting over the bathroom sink needs improvement. It is too dim.
Review 65:Every person on your staff delivered excellent service with an exceptionally friendly and positive attitude. They made us feel like they were very happy to serve us and to have us there. We all very much enjoyed the breakfast; something for everyone; particularly the wonderful fruit!
Review 66:Would have preferred less carbs on the breakfast line...however, it seems that biscuits and gravy are a big deal in this area so who am I to complain! :)
Review 67:The staff, all of the staff, front desk, maintenance and house cleaning were all fantastic! We could not have had a better experience! The Hotel was clean, updated with modern decor, ok workout facility and the location would be hard to beat!!
Review 68:Our room did not get cleaned 1 day, it was very disappointing. We did complain & it was cleaned the next 2 days.
Review 69:The view was wonderful. Enjoyed being on the beach.
Review 70:Nothing bad!!!
Review 71:I did not book our rooms correctly, and the staff was very nice in getting us what we wanted. The free breakfast was excellent with lots of tables to accommodate many.
Review 72:Smell in the room. Waste with plastic staff at breakfast...
Review 73:Top Ocean view, directly on the water front. Good place to relax and km of white sand beaches around. Staff gave good hint for Kyole´s restaurant around the corner with nice sunset view at dinner and perfect food
Review 74:Quiet, a great Ocean View, good parking and a very friendly Staff. Over all it was a great experience. I will return to the Coho Lodge every time I am in Lincoln City, Oregon. It is a good value for the Room and service. When I checked out, I was very well rested from my stay. From one who has cris crossed the USA many times, I believe you will be pleased with your stay at the Coho................LARRY
Review 75:The parking can be pretty difficult when fully booked especially with a bigger vehicle. People were also smoking on balconies, designated smoking area would be nice.
Review 76:They offer a good selection of DVDs to borrow at no cost. Very friendly staff.
Review 77:Our room did not have air conditioning. It did have a fan, which was sufficient during our trip because it was only in the 70s. If it was hotter, it would have been uncomfortable.
Review 78:The view and location are terrific and staff were very friendly. We also liked the outside gas fires and soft sand to watch the sunset.
Review 79:The gal who checked us in didn't read the online reservation I placed hours before and put me in a room that prohibts pets. She was very disorganized, not plesant at all.
Review 80:I booked on line while on the road. The staff were accomodating once they read my entire reservation (they didn't see I was travelling with a pet).
Review 81:I didn't like getting called on Sunday on our way down that they were changing our booking. We were to have had a room with 2 beds, ocean view, ground level. We ended up with a queen bed and a very very uncomfortable rollaway, ocean view on the 3rd floor. They hadn't booked the massages so we had to take whatever time was available. Then they didn't tell us where the massages would be until I called down and we were slightly late to our appointment.
Review 82:I liked Amanda and Eric who helped us as we checked out. Amanda called Eric to help reduce our bill after the other staff had changed an upgrade fee when they messed up our booking. We loved the gals who gave us our massages. Very professional and helpful.
Review 83:Voss glass water bottles. Too dangerous for family travelers. Replace with plastic please.
Review 84:The location had a stunning view! We were welcomed with warm chocolate chip cookies and our pet received a welcome care package with treats for her too. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the expanded breakfast. Also able to enjoy the pool, sauna, and workout room. Staff was fantastic!
Review 85:Making a reservation on line or over phone with Coho staff. Very, verypoor service. Staff rude! That means you Ryan. Clarissa dropped theball. New male employee working night shift apparently doesn't knowthe right answers according to Ryan who promptly threw him under thebus. I will never make another reservation with this establishment.I've never even stayed there! It has been for my daughter the lasttwo times. Both were a huge hassel. Done. The lesson you all shouldremember: The customer is always right.
Review 86:Location to beach. Hotels around you slightly shady.
Review 87:Location, staff and facilities are great value for money. Had a great time in Lincoln city. The recommendations from staff were excellent. Will be going back in the future.
Review 88:Make sure you clarify ocean view. I thought I was getting a partial ocean view and it ended up being a view of the parking lot. But, after mentioning my dissatisfaction I was moved to a different room and it was awesome.
Review 89:The staff was very nice and accommodating. The view from our room was amazing. I will be visiting the Coho again.
Review 90:Our room did not have ac which we didn't find out until we checked in. It was not mentioned when I booked online. The rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floors had ac. Since we were on the first floor, we could not leave our sliding door open at night. They provided us with a fan but it was stuffy in the room because there was no air circulation. The sofabed springs were broken so my son who had to sleep on that bed was uncomfortable.
Review 91:Nice view from our room. Good wifi & breakfast.
Review 92:Someone was a smoking on the third floor in front of the rooms. Should be no smoking property.
Review 93:My 11 daughter and I came for a one day getaway and had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, walking the beach, and the view from the room was wonderful. Staff were very responsive to questions and providing forgotten forks!
Review 94:a little expensive for such a small room, BUT all rooms with a balcony view of the ocean are at a premium in lincoln city.
Review 95:Just about everything. Close to attractions, breakfast was nice, view was great, climate wasn't harsh.
Review 96:Can't think of anything-except I couldn't stay longer!
Review 97:The view from my balcony. The people there where friendly and helpful. You must stay at The Coho and experience the sunset!!
Review 98:The breakfast bar was dirty when we arrived the first morning, only high sugar choices, old plastic glasses that should have been discarded, etc. We did not return for the other two mornings. Mattress too soft and reading lamp was too dim.
Review 99:Liked the access to the beach and the firepits. The updated bathroom was very nice except the lighting while bright was poor for grooming.
Review 100:There wasn't anything that we didn't like. If I had to improve on a thing it would be the coffee maker only because we are big coffee drinker and it really was an easy fix because we filled our vase from downstairs.
Review 101:the location, the room and view. Superb and the staff is the best.
Review 102:Our room was tiny and we had to take our dog out of the room every time we left the room I've stayed In plenty of Oregon coast hotels where we didn't have to do this The breakfast was crowded
Review 103:The location and the condition of the hotel
Review 104:My only complaint is there was not much at the breakfast for a person with gluten intolerance issues.
Review 105:I loved our view and our room. So nice to get her there with family.
Review 106:Clock in swimming pool house was an hour behind.
Review 107:Mark of excellence overall. Got myself a Coho logo baseball type of cap, and an orange sweater with Coho logo on it for our lil apple head dog. Gloria had a great relaxation time there (hot tubbing) prior to her hospital appointment and the results were good.
Review 108:It would have been nice if there were stairs down to the beach at the hotel but the walk wasn't that far to get down there.
Review 109:My partner and I stayed at the Coho for our anniversary. We had never stayed there and it was awesome. The staff were so great and we loved our room. We will definitely stay there again!
Review 110:Ocean view is just that, hotel on a cliff...you have to walk to the end of the block to access beach. Small parking lot get your spot and stay put.
Review 111:Nice rooms, good breakfast
Review 112:Beach access actually not that easy for anyone with walking difficulty (very steep road and stairs to get to beach). Motel is perched high on a cliff. Our bathroom was OK, but our friends in another room had a painfully small bathroom.
Review 113:Ocean view
Review 114:Coho's Cafe did not have lunch or dinner, would gladly pocket out $$$$.
Review 115:Hot Tub was freshly painted with clear water so did the pool. Very impressed with the 3 gas controlled bonfires outside. Nice interiors. Provided dog bed and bag of dog treats & bone. Coming back again.
Review 116:We cannot think of anything.
Review 117:They price was surprising. The room was so enjoyable and relaxing, we watched a movie, enjoyed snacks in our room. We loved sitting around the outside fire pit and enjoying our coffee. The breakfast was unbelievable, so many choices, very thankful.
Review 118:Hard beds, only french press, needs coffee maker. No coffee in rooms, no place to hang clothes while you shower. No direct beach access. No dvd player in bedroom. Small tvs. Minimal dishes, no dishwasher, no freezer.
Review 119:Large balcony and great breakfast selection.
Review 120:Was some noise from roofers (unavoidable if you want the roof fixed) need some stairs down to the beach...
Review 121:Terrific staff and beautiful view, In room amenities were good...
Review 122:An upscale bistro-type restaurant onsite would make this place so much better. Hard to find a decent place to dine for supper.
Review 123:Loved the incredible ocean view from our room. Staff were helpful and always smiling.
Review 124:Wish I could have stayed longer!
Review 125:Friday evening wine and chair massage!! Don't forget to schedule a nice long private massage...unforgettable experience!!
Review 126:Morning front desk person was not the friendliest, but I can't call her rude either.
Review 127:Very upscale feel. Very comfortable with a great breakfast area. Hotel is right by the beach with a little walk to the access.
Review 128:Housekeeping staff didn't come until we called them, late in the day each time
Review 129:Emily, working nights, was fantastic but unfortunately she was the highlight for our trip....
Review 130:NO EVERYTHING WAS G R E A T
Review 131:Everything was perfect. It was clean, no noise at night lots of good food for FREE. W will stay here from now on when we are in that area. NO EVERYTHING WAS G R E A
Review 132:Nice location, beautiful view! With close access to the beach and lovely little patios. The room was cozy and comfortable. The bed was luxurious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would love to go back in the warmer seasons to enjoy the outdoor fire pits!
Review 133:Only thing I think could use improvement is how the breakfast is laid out. When busy it gets crowded. Not bad but at all just could be better. Breakfast is super good though.
Review 134:My favorite place to stay at the beach!!!
Review 135:My only complaint is the poor lighting. The bright note is since I couldn't really see any blemishes I felt like a million bucks the whole trip.
Review 136:We loved this hotel! We were able to see whales and sea lions right from our room! Best part is it is one hotel away from the this really neat beach access where you can drive your vehicles down on the beach.
Review 137:The shower was so tiny it was ridiculous, and there was no way to heat water for the French press except to microwave two tiny coffee mugs of water at a time.
Review 138:The view was amazing! And it was less than a block to the beach entrance. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Review 139:We had a king size bed which was much firmer than we are use to so we didn't sleep very well. But over all it is very nice and we will go back. Next visit we will ask for a queen size bed which tend to run a little softer.
Review 140:We really liked pretty much everything. It was very clean, quiet and the location is great. Breakfast was also very good.
