Reviews for Los Abrigados Resort and Spa By Diamond Resorts

Review 1:Had to change rooms, because heater didn't work. But the staff that evening was great. In a matter of minutes we were in another room, and upgraded. Excellent staff.

Review 2:Had a room too far from the pool and hot tub to walk to in the cold weather. The price for the room was way too high for the time of year we were staying and to cancel they would have charge way too much of a penalty. This hotel even charges for coffee in their lobby, we stayed at much cheaper hotels that included coffee at no charge.

Review 3:Bed was very comfortable

Review 4:The room didn't look anything like the pictures shown!

Review 5:The location was the best part. The room was rather spartan. The sales pitch was a bit too long.

Review 6:There is nothing I didn't like about my stay.

Review 7:The suite was very spacious, well kept, and well stocked. The location was also great as it's right in the center of Sedona, and the staff was very friendly.

Review 8:1- They do not offer daily cleaning (very weird) this should be explicitat booking.com2- Theu charge me 8 dollars more if no reason and also told me that this tax is from booking.com 3- And the staff from receptions hás ZERO educations, ZERO good humor and they are very rude.

Review 9:The location and the room.

Review 10:We were lied to by the marketing people of the time share staff!!! We were supposed to receiveTWO $125 credits on our bill...we were not married, engaged, cohabiting etc...

Review 11:The location...next to Talaquepaque shops and restaurants.

Review 12:The bed was uncomfortable. The heater was either too hot or not hot enough, the shower knob was broken.

Review 13:We liked the location of the property. Close to shops and restaurants.

Review 14:Toilet very low to ground, water level high in toilet, got wet. No fan in bathroom, also no bath mat.

Review 15:kitchenette, very comfortable bed and excellent quality sofabed mattress. Dedicated 120V EV plug we used to charge our Tesla. Laundry room on site. Heated pool. Spoke and Wheel restaurant had decent quality food for Thanksgiving lunch Access to Oak Creek, facilities for sports and children.

Review 16:Air was stale and I had to keep my balcony door and windows opened to air out. The chairs on the patio weren't comfy. I was out of sugar but couldn’t hold for housekeeping.

Review 17:Apartment specious, comfortable and well appointed. Kitchenette has everything you need. The atmosphere outside was nice. This resort is in a great location next to the Tlaquepaque shopping mall.

Review 18:Lack of parking and difficulty finding our room. The chairs on the patio weren't very nice and didn't fit with the rest of the decor. There was an unpleasant long wait for a gimmicky check-in award - which was actually a sales presentation for other properties owned by the management.

Review 19:The sofa bed was heaven. The rooms were large and the little kitchen a welcome surprise.

Review 20:I don't like paying $15 for resort facilities I don't use. If I want to use the pool or exercise equipment I can pay for it.

Review 21:Rooms are large, comfortable and well appointed. Kitchenette has everything you need. Nice outdoor grills for guests

Review 22:The staff was really great in helping me find fun stuff to do since I wasn't from around there. I had a very relaxing trip and can't wait to visit again!?

Review 23:The spare bed was uncomfortable. Light was shining through from the outside. Heater was blowing loud.

Review 24:The atmosphere outside was NICE.It was close to shopping.

Review 25:There was a lot I did not like!!!! That they add a resort fee. That I could never find parking in the evenings. That they call themselves a green hotel, but they should still make the beds everyday!!! I just stayed at another, much smaller property in Sedona for nine nights in April that was also green, but they offered housekeeping services everyday. I also hated the fact that they want to sell you timeshare on the property!!!!!

Review 26:The location!!!

Review 27:We only stayed 2 nights and one day, so we didn't have much chance to participate in the on-site activities, and it was cool, so we didn't get to use hot tub or pool. Even so, we found the unit dated and bit run-down. The staff at the front desk were not particularly helpful or friendly.

Review 28:This resort is in a great location, right next to the Tlaquepaque shopping mall, a really cool artisan shopping concourse. There are a couple of good restaurants on site, and some others in the mall.

Review 29:Has any of the owners, directors etc had an in room coffee ? Totally awful as you only have powdered creamer ,not actual milk. What a let down for a first class accommodation

Review 30:Good location but the weather hider ed our trip. Lucky it was our third visit... . ,.my husband was disappointed with his steak ,not as good as the last time .

Review 31:Difficult to find room. Signs are not useful in locating room and it would help if the building letter is mentioned upon checkin.

Review 32:Acomodations were much improved from last visit.

Review 33:The hotel has very poor customer service. After wr checked in and were settling into the room getting comfortable in the living room area, another couple walked in. I contacted front desk and NO apology was given except for "yeah, it was a computer glitch." After returning from dinner, our room keys didnt work. I called the hotel from mobile and requested new room keys be sent... 14 minutes later I had to do a second call and was told, "well we only have one bellman, so he will get there when he can." At check out, I was asked about my stay and shared our experience. The front desk agent just said ," oh its a big property and we are always short staffed." Soooo not so diamond after all!

Review 34:The location is great. The quietness is a plus.

Review 35:Loved the Diversity of the entire facility.............polite & helpful staff, great restaurants, great shops, & proximity to town & RedRock mountains.

Review 36:I was checked into a room where the door could not be locked. The staff at maintenance and even security were very helpful and friendly but the staff at reception was more than challenging and very unacommodating. I wasted more than an hour of an overnight stay (check in after 4pm!!!!) in order to be put into a room where I could lock the front door. (Info from the front Office to a maintenance Person was " please have her walk over to reception if she has a problem").

Review 37:Location and pool areas

Review 38:Staff seemed detached, except for Beau, who was very friendly! You pay top dollar. It would be nice to offer discount for multiple stays and/or nights.

Review 39:Close to downtown Sedona; restaurant and bar on site; southwestern architecture; cleanliness; pool.

Review 40:Our rental room needs to be updated, carpet dirty, window trimming torn in places. Poor signage, hard to find the pool etc

Review 41:Danny security guard and Dean who helped us plan our days need to be commrnded for their caring

Review 42:The room. It had all the dishes, etc for cooking in the microwave. But no freezer and it did not have a kitchen sink or dishwasher. Its not sanitary to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. Why do hotels/resorts refuse to supply good lighting. I have low vision and reading in that room was impossible.

Review 43:Ihe grounds are beautiful. I loved walking around them.

Review 44:The room had a pungent odor, musty with a touch of something undefinable which, incidentally, was still in my clean nightshirt when I got home. Also, while sitting on the toilet, water dripped on my head from an overhead fixture. Maintenance came, mopped up the water, and told me someone would be back at 9am to fix it. By 4am, it was leaking from both light fixtures in the bathroom. When I went to shower at 5am, the shower didn't work - it was just a dribble. Then, when I used their hairdryer, it was impacted with dust and blew brown stuff into my hair and the sink. I complained to the front desk twice in addition to reporting the leak. No offer to change rooms was made.So much for "staying vacationed."

Review 45:Beautiful location.

Review 46:The adult saltwater pool is great and thy have an exlarge hottub. Being able to cook a meal is so nice also, many more amenities available also.. Danny the Bell man was very courteous and helpful.

Review 47:Have stayed in Sedona before , but this time the location could not have been more perfect in every way. Walking distance or 1 mile drive to all attractions and restaurants.

Review 48:I arrived at 4am and was exhausted , I was given a huge map and told to find F building literally in the dark. I wondered around for 20 minutes it's very confusing .

Review 49:The Hotel is beautiful, the grounds are very pretty and very peaceful. I felt very safe .

Review 50:Would like information re Sedona available instead of waiting to talk to Concierge.

Review 51:Size of rooms and accessibility. Husband has a scooter and the staff found us a room that had a ramp from parking to room. .

Review 52:We hated the shower, and the couch pull out bed was sooooo uncomfortable. Sleeping on the floor was better.

Review 53:We loved the pool and how close it was to dining and shopping.

Review 54:We had no idea where the resort was in location to town, we were pleasantly surprised when we found that we could walk everywhere! Beautiful grounds and accommodations we would stay again if we ever return to Sedona.

Review 55:Spoke and wheel restaurant on site was good and bad. First night it was awesome with a great burger and a great waitress cherry. Second time the service was crazy slow, they forgot one meal and the waitress (name not to be mentioned) was terrible. We lost 2 hours of our busy day!

Review 56:Perfect location. Great pool. Friendly staff. Lots of things to do. Not enough time!

Review 57:- mold on the shower curtain - handicap bar was loose and dangling - chatty, smoking staff members congregated at the laundry room outside the window beginning at 9:30pm and once they left, the loud laundry went on for over an hour. - bed was uncomfortable - there were not enough linens and no toiletries. - there was hair in the bed

Review 58:location was central

Review 59:Your information card on how to operate the TV should let people know the channels are digital. If you turn on the TV and press 5 for channel 5 it will not find the channel. You must input 5.1. We had to have a service man up to the room to explain this. If that information was added to you sheet it may save your service person some time and it would be less of a hassle for your guest. I went down to the pool and as I got there (6:30 PM) they closed it because a storm was approaching and there was the possibility of lightning. When I got back up to the room I tried to call the concierge to ask them to call me when the pool reopened, the phone rang and rang but no one answered. I ask the frond desk about it when I checked out and he said they left early because it was slow. Gives the word concierge new meaning.

Review 60:everything except what is noted in didn't like

Review 61:We didnt know it was a time share. They did not offer housekeeping services during our stay. We had to order towels each day but they never took old towels. Parking was difficult at times.

Review 62:Location was great! Big rooms.

Review 63:Room had not been cleaned but staff did so promptly. Went to sports bar and were waited on by the bartender - not once did a waitress approach us - he was great !

Review 64:Ambience of the grounds is wonderful. Staff very accommodating.

Review 65:I got different stories regarding check-in time. Parking was limited near our room. Surprised that the room is not made-up each day. Not a problem, just a surprise.

Review 66:Quiet and excellent facilities, in the room and outside. Great location.

Review 67:The pillows were too hard, the staff was not knowledgeable, when asked a question the answer 3 out of 4 times was I don't know. Felt the hard sell to take the 2 1/2 hour time share talk was not appreciated at the time of check in.

Review 68:The spa (massage) was great

Review 69:Could not easily connect smart phones to free wi fi, certain smell detected when entering our room. But that is all we did not like.

Review 70:Many relevant amenities ( use of fitness center, mini golf and restaurant), very friendly and professional staff, location to shopping, nice getting a gift for our stay. Easy driving to our tours and pick up location for tour companies. Kitchen equipped with what we needed to cook. Very clean!

Review 71:They don't clean the room.I have been 4 nights and nobody went there noonce time. They charged me 15 US per day more tham tax. If a wanted to clean the room I should pay an extra for it.

Review 72:The swiming pool and the Gym

Review 73:Waited more than three hours for one of our two rooms to be ready. A large wedding was being held at the facility that day, and the staff was quite frazzled and unprepared to accommodate other guests properly. Would prefer daily housekeeping and no sales pitch for time share.

Review 74:Excellent location; beautiful pools; lovely grounds; great restaurant; amazing views; nice facilities; large rooms; adjacent to beautiful Tlaquepaque shopping/dining area.

Review 75:Dirty room. Mold on walls. Old. Uncomfortable furniture. Uninformed, slow, uncaring staff. Had to ask for fresh towels 3 times and then go get them myself. Front desk staff had no idea what they were doing. Mr. Z. needs to get on top of things.

Review 76:Lpvatipn

Review 77:Most units are still old and need to be updated. Diamond Resorts acquired this place and are slowly updating the rooms. We saw an updated unit on a timeshare sales tours and it was gorgeous. Check-in wait was too long. Expect heavy timeshare sales activity. We were offered a $100 resort credit in exchange for going on a tour and listening to the timeshare sales pitch. We did the tour and received the credit but the credit still has not been credited to our bill. We checked out last week. I have been calling the manager regarding this but have not received a call back. I was also given someone else's receipt when I checked out and didn't realized it until I got back home. So the resort, under new management, is certainly working out a lot of kinks.

Review 78:Sedona is magical and beautiful so the location is ideal. The grounds, pools, creek side park, lobby areas are beautiful.

Review 79:They messed up and wouldn't let me book the second night with the wedding block so I had to go through booking.com and it ended up costing me about $80 more ;( it was their error not mine

Review 80:The wedding took place on the grounds , so very convenient

Review 81:Kids water feature was broke, lobby coffee machine broke, cleaning service left us with no towels after they cleaned room. Check in was painfully long.

Review 82:Ashley at front desk was spectacular. Grounds are lush, pool is warm, lots of activities onsite and family oriented.

Review 83:The A/C was not working. It took 2 days to get it working. The resort fee is high if you are not using any of the resort amenities such as the pool or fitness, etc.

Review 84:The location was close to Downtown Sedona and walking distance to several good restaurants. The suite style rooms were large.

Review 85:Did not know that this place is actually a time-share facility. Expect to be harassed by the staff consistently as they try to make you attend seminars and promotional gatherings.

Review 86:Beautiful suite - very reasonable for the area. Excellent facilities

Review 87:The staff wasn't friendly at checkout and had to call 3 times to get sheets for the pull out bed. The last night we had a poisonous spider and the last day a roach! I can do bugs in room... I guess but a roach! I brought it up to staff and he said this is Arizona we get bugs. I live in Arizona and I don't get roaches in my home. Sorry I've never had a roach in my room not even at a ramada inn. Other than that I'd recommend it because grounds are beautiful and it's a good value.

Review 88:The property is beautiful and in a great location. The room was a good size and semi up to date. I read a lot of bad reviews about spoke and wheel the service was slow but good was good.

Review 89:rooms are rather old and dated. Parking was very limited. When returning at 10 p.m., we had to park a considerable distance from our room.

Review 90:rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 91:To many stairs everywhere, you could not go anywhere without lots of stairs and no elevators. I had recently had ankle surgery, wish I would have known about the stairs prior to booking. When we needed Toilet paper it took them 5 hours to bring it with repeated reminders. They do not clean the room mid week as they tell you when you check in they only replace the towels. This place was geared more to family's with kids not adults. They have 2 pools but the kids were always in the large pool and the hot tub.

Review 92:Great location, beautiful creek adjourning the property that was peaceful to walk around. The salt water pool was refreshing.

Review 93:Room could have been cleaner. A few cockroaches (but a note left by the management alerted us to that possibility)

Review 94:Great grounds. Front desk was very helpful.

Review 95:Requested 2 queen beds...got one. Two of us slept on old pull out sofa with springs poking out and squeeked all night. AC unit loud. Drapes don't close so parking lot lights kept us awake. Dead roaches on floor in morning. Facility needs update badly.

Review 96:Location is great. Staff VERY friendly. With updating, could again be a nice place again.

Review 97:I loved the beauty and convenience. I liked being close to the creek. I loved the facilities. I loved that it was next to Tlaquepaque Shops. It was so relaxing. I hated to leave. It was a wonderful first experience visiting Sedona. I am glad that I was not staying farther uptown with all the traffic congestion with construction being done. I feel I just was very lucky with this choice.

Review 98:Too much noise from the people above us. Shower door would not close. Had to shower with the door half open. Water leaked from the shower fixture.

Review 99:Beautiful grounds

Review 100:This is a Diamond Timeshare property and they are all about selling.

Review 101:Beautiful property. Great location. Immaculately clean. Very comfortable. Right in back of Tlaquepaque Mission shopping center. Beautiful Red Rocks setting. Family friendly. Handicapped units available.

Review 102:The "upgraded" room we were given left a lot to be desired. The kitchen are looked like a plywood frame with faux-wood contact paper over the surface. The cushions on the sofa in the sitting are kept sliding off when you sat on them. The carpet in the bedroom area looked old and the shower area did not appear to have been updated. The most frustrating part of our 2-day stay was evening parking. If your unit is to the front of the property parking is very limited. There are "reserved" spaces for certain units otherwise it is limited curb side or limited "slot" parking. The back of the property near the family golf area has more parking spaces than appears to be needed. It appears when the resort is at 100% occupancy there is only 90% parking available.

Review 103:The cost of the rooms was reasonable and location of the property was good.

Review 104:When we checked in the front desk clerk rambled through her speech so quickly we couldn't understand her and had to ask her to repeat which she sighed heavily and like we were an inconvenience and sped through it again. Very unfriendly!!

Review 105:The grounds were beautiful and I love all the activites.

Review 106:Out dated room including old carpet was very disappointing, when I stay at a resort I expect granite countertops and new furniture and flooring. Our room was like stepping into the 80's.

Review 107:Good pool and amenities

Review 108:I enjoyed the location. Within walking distance from Oak Creek Brewery! Couldn't have asked for more. They have a lot of kid friendly activities and adult activities as well. I wish I had a longer stay there.

Review 109:There is a list of dislikes unfortunately. First was the fact that the bed was nearly concaved on one side. Second was the Wi-Fi was practically non-existent followed by the fact that when I couldn't relax with my tablet I was also unable to watch TV due to the fact that the reception was so terrible on so many channels that it wasn't even worth my time. Trying to unwind in a hot shower was also not enjoyable because the shower heads spray like needles without the ability to change the pattern. For the type of money they charge they should make sure the facilities are up to par.

Review 110:I liked the gym/fitness facility and I liked the pools.

Review 111:Couldn't get our two units adjacent to each other. Also reserved a 2bdrm unit with a king master, and second bdrm with 2 full beds. Actual second bdrm only had 1 full bed. Staff told us that online info needs to be updated; two beds no longer available in second bdrm.

Review 112:Location is great; adjacent to Tlaquepaque-dining, shops, and galleries.

Review 113:dirty rooms. watch out for the sales pitch...they held me hostage for 4 hours...three different sales men....until finally getting up and walking out!!

Review 114:nothing

Review 115:Property is somewhat of a timeshare idea so they do try to sell you but other than that it was a great experience!

Review 116:I really enjoyed the location and the cleanliness of the resort.

Review 117:Price was pretty high for age of the facility. The price did not include maid service or breakfast. Rooms need a facelift. Exhaust fan in bathroom was unusable in both of our rooms because of the noise it made. Wifi in rooms was poor. Patking not convenient to our rooms.

Review 118:Location was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 119:They charged 100.00 on my card in addition to the purchase. They also charged an additional15.00 for resort fee even though booking.com charged it. The place is a timeshare and they are looking to get you to purchase the whole time you are there. I was told my 100 fee for checking in would be refunded in about two weeks. They don't offer late check out. Even though the hotel was not even close to full. Very rule oriented, not customer based.

Review 120:The rooms haven't been updated since they were built.

Review 121:Gorgeous grounds! Flowers everywhere! Sedona is gorgeous! Clean rooms and attentive staff!

Review 122:The furniture in the unit looked worn and dated.the front desk reception was not helpful...when there was anyone there at all; not enough front desk people to accommodate the long lone of peoole. Supervisor was not hepful to adjust pricing since I did not get the two bed unit as I reserved....I got the single bed unit yet got charged through booking.com for a two bed unit; supervisor said it was out of her control. For this main reason, I will probably never stay at a dion resort again, nor recommend it to anyone.

Review 123:We only stayed for one night and the only thing we liked was the dinner at the on site restaurant. Perfectly cooked steak.

Review 124:very early check out no room service concierge never answered phone front desk did not answer phone long walk to office to get answers toddlers in hot tub peeing

Review 125:facility is beautiful family/children oriented (if you want that)

Review 126:Dated over priced room. Upon entering room there were 2 plastic bags of used wet towels & a handicapped toilet seat in the bathroom sink. Please review this because future guests should be aware of the overpriced cost of stay at this facility,

Review 127:Location

Review 128:The renovations they're doing are wonderful. The only thing that I wish was better was parking when there's a full house. But our stay was beautiful. I totally recommend this resort!

Review 129:Intrsuivness of iBAHN wit-fi

Review 130:Completeness of facilitate, decor and condition of unit, fittings of handicapped accessible unit and professional competent cheerful staff

Review 131:I asked for a newspaper and was told by the front desk clerk "We don't usually give them away." The second day I asked to pay for a paper - $2 for USA Today. Seems petty when the property is so nice.

Review 132:Late breakfasts, but others nearby eased that with no problem.

Review 133:Short walk to lots of restaurant choices. Lataqueapaque (? spelling) just next door, was easy access, and plenty to keep you interested.

Review 134:Check in was a little bit of a wait.

Review 135:The grounds were very nicely landscaped. Wish we had more time to do a little more exploring on the property. It is not right downtown but an easy walk to get there.

Review 136:Piles of cottonwood and dead leaves outside our door. Told staff on arrival on Tuesday, still there on departure Thursday. No maid service provided, so no clean towels or emptied wastebaskets.

Review 137:Spa services were great

Review 138:I didn't like the $14 per night resort fee. Just include it in the price of the room. But the parking was included and there were lots of resort activities... I would stay here again.

Review 139:With 3 adults and 2 younger children We stayed in a 2 bedroom . The bedrooms were large and the sitting /dining area was spacious and comfy. The furniture was clean and newer. Nice quiet location. It was nice to be able to walk to several Restuarants .
