Reviews for Looking Glass Inn

Review 1:I did not like being right next to the designated smoking area. Both to get to our room and being on our balcony we had the smell of smoke lingering which I could have done without. There was a lot of noise as well.

Review 2:Loved the location, and the accommodations.

Review 3:We stayed here for a very stormy weekend but the room was warm and clean and dry so we could just sit in the room and enjoy watching the storms come in! This is a cute place, very close to the beach. My dog was welcomed with a nice basket of goodies, too!

Review 4:It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to have an additional luggage rack. We had two suitcases so one of them had to be put on the ground which made getting things out of it more difficult.

Review 5:Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Fireplace and spa tub were GREAT. The room was very clean. Loved having glasses, dishes, and silverware for our use. Location can't be beat!

Review 6:The only thing I didn't like was the pillows. Too soft. But that's okay next time we will just bring our own.

Review 7:The room was amazing. Loved the spa tub, the bed, the fireplace, the view. The staff was very friendly. Loved that you could hear the ocean all day long. Was amazed they had conditioner that actually worked! Lol

Review 8:Was not happy when we arrived and was told check-in time is 4pm. Whywhen booking was I asked when we would be arriving if they will tell youcheck-in isn't till later. We did get in an hour earlier than 4.Asked if they had a restroom when I went to check in and was told therewas a public one across the street. After driving 2 and ahalf hours andplanned on staying at this place you why do they not have a facility forguests to use.

Review 9:It is close to the beach and restaurant is just across the street.

Review 10:The room was clean, well cared for, tastefully decorated, and a string of Christmas lights was a nice touch (since we visited in December). We will definitely stay here again!

Review 11:Amazing view, great location, and comfortable rooms! We will be going back again! Next time we will bring our dog, because they are the most dog-friendly place we have ever been to!

Review 12:The view from room 304. The fact that the beach was across the street and we could interact with the local "crabbers". Also Moe's was conveniently located for eating.

Review 13:We were so impressed with the facility..it was very clean..staff was very friendly and we stayed in a King suite which was very affordable...we will be back...Maggie was very accommodating.. She even had a happy birthday sign for us...thank you!!!

Review 14:The room was not fancy, but it was clean and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. The continental breakfast had a lot of choices. One reason my niece and I chose Looking Glass Inn is it is pet friendly. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely book there again.

Review 15:I wish we had a view of the Ocean.

Review 16:The size of our room and the long white bath robe! ❤️ We didn't have our dogs with us but they would have been very welcome!

Review 17:The booking service we used didn't jibe with the actual rooms available, but the staff made up for it..

Review 18:Great views from the 3rd floor room, nice view from the ground floor room. The beds were heaven!! The rooms were exceptionally clean and well organized complete with everything we needed. The staff was 5 star!

Review 19:Bathrooms were very small and our tub was slow draining which was fixed right away.

Review 20:The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They are very pet friendly which was a plus. Comfortable beds. Very clean and the towels were very soft and plush.

Review 21:Was told it was an ocean view room but we looked out at a parking lot -- bottom floor. Noisy neighbors above.

Review 22:Beautiful property. Customer service great.

Review 23:Looking Glass Inn was quaint and loved the location! I have never booked online before and was extremely pleased with everything! Will definitely come back!

Review 24:There was no elevator, but I am happy that at age 76 I can still climb stairs!! The climb was definitely worth the view!!

Review 25:We loved the view from our upstairs room. Looking over the ocean, and kids digging for clams.

Review 26:No Complaints

Review 27:Brudus, the long haired chiuhauha wanted me to relay to you he had a wonderful stay. The room was wonderful. I slept between my Mom and Dad, in my kennel all night long. I'm trying to talk them into coming back real soon. As soon as I am leash trained they said they'd bring me back. Keep a room open for me...Thank you...Brudus the holy terror...Also my Dad just said the front desk people and manager were very very nice and accommodating....

Review 28:OMG where do I start.....the staff is unbelievable, the beds comfy, the light breakfast in the morning perfect, the location wonderful....Wish I could move there!!!

Review 29:A couple small things to consider in Room 207 were that the bathroom door wouldn't stay open which was a hazard at night using the toilet and the faucet was very hard to pull on. Refrigerator wasn't cold enough.

Review 30:We love the view from room 207. It was very relaxing and fun. Also like the fireplace when it gets cold out. It's great to have our dogs welcomed. Everything was so clean! Yeah!! Complimentary champagne for our anniversary was an added surprise! We'll be back next year!

Review 31:Great location across the street from Mo's seafood. Dead end street with ocean beach. Walking distance to downtown. Very pet friendly. This was our second stay and we will be back.

Review 32:Ceilings are a bit thin, overhead noise was a problem.

Review 33:The staff are warm and welcoming, the room was beautiful. The hotel is dog friendly so we will definitely return with our pup.

Review 34:Rooms were out dated. Pictures were much better than the actual property. Kudos to the photographer. Stayed at much nicer hotels in other locations on the Oregon coast for cheaper rate.

Review 35:Nothing special. It wasn't bad by any means. Just not sure how the reviews are so high. It was ok at best.

Review 36:I loved how close the hotel was to the beach and how friendly the staff was as well. And on top of that, the hotel was perfect for a little mini vacation (the room was equipped with everything you could need).

Review 37:The sofa sleeper was a bit scary. I know these are tough...but the mattress was so thin our two littles 6 & 3, could really feel it.

Review 38:The staff was amazing. The doggie welcome kit was lovely. The room was spacious (bathrooms are fairly small) the view was beautiful and the grounds were so clean and so well manicured including the pet area and also the outdoor picnic area.

Review 39:Fridge kind of broken/hard to close. Bathroom noise from downstairs room super loud. Better coffee needed in rooms☺

Review 40:Liked service ! Everyone helpful. Very close to beach.

Review 41:Cold breakfast and small outside area for the crab boiling! My husband didn't like the fact that we would be outside for our eating! I missed our crab fishing!

Review 42:Everything else, location and Mo's right across our motel! The bay and beach acsess was perfect! Very nicely kept rooms and motel!

Review 43:We thought we had booked a room with a full kitchen but obviouslyhadn'T.....but.....

Review 44:As it turned out we ended up ordering out and having some excellentsushi and other food from the hotel's menu in the room.....

Review 45:No A/C, air-flow. Box fan in room. Poor insulation elephants walking upstairs. Window opened to parking lot; lots of noise but too hot to keep window closed. Beds hard and would bring your own pillows.

Review 46:We will come here again and again. First stayed at this property as kids in early 1960's (pre-Looking Glass ID). Perfect location, excellent bay/beach access, rooms very classic/serene, staff very friendly, dog friendly, beautiful, even though there some shortcomings, I would give the the highest of recommendations!

Review 47:The coffee at breakfast was awful. Having the bathroom sink outside the bathroom is awkward. The shower water temperature was all over the place. Limited parking.

Review 48:Relaxing on the balcony and watching the sun go down over the ocean is amazing. The breakfast was simple but good. My husband loved the jacuzzi tub. The fireplace was nice when the temperature dipped after dark.

Review 49:I didn't like how loud the Jacuzzi tub was when turned on....doesn't allow relaxation or romance. I also didn't like the noise from the parking lot during the day.

Review 50:It was a good room with a balcony, and the small kitchen served our needs well. The Jacuzzi tub kind of takes over the room though.

Review 51:The shower drainage was slow, although understandable with the beach right across the street. The room smelled of wet dog. Next time we'll definitely ask for a no pets room if they have those.

Review 52:They have everything! Beach blankets, beach toys, fresh cookies at 6, crab potting and cooking.

Review 53:The room was large with two queen beds. Very comfortable beds. Everything was fresh and clean. Looking Glass even had BBQ you could use if you wanted. They provided about anything a traveler could want.

Review 54:I'm afraid of heights and was petrified walking up the 3 flight ifstairs!! The walls are so thin I could hear the guy next door snoringall night! The worst $225 I've ever spent!!

Review 55:The staff were friendly.

Review 56:Compared to a $200/night hotel in Astoria we've stayed in, this hotel is a quite a bit less impressive in styling and amenities. It is a great hotel -- I just think it reflects more a $130 room rather than the $200 that we paid.

Review 57:I was impressed with the cleanliness of rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the small but convenient amenities provided.

Review 58:Great location. Beautiful view. Very friendly and helpful staff! Very clean and comfortable room. Only location on the coast that I could find with No size and weight restrictions on pets. This is my now only place to say when I visit the coast! Will defanitly be back!!

Review 59:I like the comfort and quite of this place. Very nice rooms.Stayed on the 3rd floor. Spa tub with a view and kitchen. Breakfast was good cereal, bagels, fruit,.juice and other things like muffins, cheese, milk and coffee. It seems like they have everything to offer for a dog. Beds towels bowls treats etc Just a nice place to stay.

Review 60:We didn't like them trying to charge $4 for old DVD's when you can go to Red Box at McDonalds and get the newest movies for $1.50. And the Hot Tub in our room was Ho Hum...the jets were weird and made water go on the floor. No elevator.

Review 61:We loved how nice the people were, how clean the rooms were and this place is located in a perfect spot across from beach.

Review 62:I really don't have any complaints

Review 63:Awesome staff,Clean, comfortable, room. They go the extra mile to make sure your stay is excellent. From sand toys for the kids to dog beds, even blankets and flashlights for late night walks or bonfires on the beach.Great location, would recommend to stay at least two nights.Great Place..I

Review 64:The balcony off of the room was the perfect spot for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. The weather was clear and sunny but I would love staying at this property on the stormy days too..

Review 65:The floor squeaked from the room above the sound proofing was not very good.

Review 66:The room was perfect for a weekend getaway the location was perfect right on the beach.

Review 67:The person checking us in didn't confirm the price of them room (I got a receipt upon check out, which was a little out of the norm from other places we've been staying at). They do allow pets, which is great for some people, but they put someone with 2 giant dogs in the room above us, it sounded like they were running around the room late at night.

Review 68:The bed and bathroom were immaculate. The place was very nice, good value and great location.

Review 69:Bed made my back sore. That did not happen when I stayed there previously...Anomaly?

Review 70:Close to the beach and restaurants. Excellent facilities and amenities. Great breakfast. Helpful staff.

Review 71:We would suggest a second story. On the first floor you hear foot traffic if you open your window.

Review 72:They have facilities for outdoor picnics and barbecues. Everything is spotless. Although we didn't use them, they go above and beyond in catering to animals and kids.

Review 73:We were upgraded to a king size bed with an ocean/bay view. Easily walking distance from the beach where we saw whales migrating and seals playing. Also internet was good, was able to steam video on my computer.

Review 74:Some early morning noise happened near the property that had nothing to do with the hotel, but it still was unpleasant.

Review 75:I loved the view from my room, having a deck to sit and relax on, and everything was just great :-)

Review 76:Looking Glass is a two minute walk from a nice, large beach. The staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations of where to eat. We will most definitely be back!

Review 77:Mo's, and the fact we had to pay a premium $30 per night for 2mature dogs when we did not use room service for the entire stay

Review 78:Quiet clean place, easy access to beach with friendly staff who were agreat source of intel on where to eat.

Review 79:This is one of our favorite places to stay at the Beach. Love the location and how pet friendly they are. The welcome dog basket is a great touch.

Review 80:There was nothing not to like!

Review 81:We liked the convenience of Mo's Restaurant across the street and easy beach access. We liked the arrangement and cleanliness of the whirlpool suite.

Review 82:The only thing was you could hear anytime someone was taking a shower or flushing the toilet.

Review 83:The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We loved all the amenities. We forgot our beach toys at home so our six year old was happy to see you had toys we could borrow. Thanks!

Review 84:When check in the price was higher than what was booked. Fortunately I found a confirmation printed out. The manager honored the booked rate right away and was very apologetic about it. Didn't have this problem when I booked other hotels on other web site.

Review 85:Location - across from entrance to beach and a restaurant.

Review 86:It was so nice to have a dog friendly place that didn't care how much your pet weighs or what breed they are. A welcome change. Wonderful place!! We will be back.

Review 87:Water pressure in shower was not very good and hot water was running low around 9am when I showered. TV was a tad small and we had not been able to watch a movie over a G rating in a long time(small children at home/this was our first trip away in over a year) and would have enjoyed more on a bigger screen.

Review 88:Great location we could walk to restaurants and right across from the beach. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

Review 89:Didn't like having to carry our breakfast back to our room to eat. When neighbors use the spa tub it is very noisy in your room as if you are using yours.

Review 90:Easy access to beach and Moes, if you are a fan of that. Really spacious room with a nice fireplace.

Review 91:Difficulty pulling the sink water faucet on. It was a challenge climbing three flights of stairs when you are 91 and 81, but we managed!!

Review 92:We liked the view and I liked the spa

Review 93:we got there kind of late, they said our check out time could be a little later. we had never taken our rescue dog to a hotel before the lady that checked us in had some helpful tips. every one was very helpful and friendly!

Review 94:the whirlpool bath was a bit noisy but that's to be expected.. overall a great deal

Review 95:great room and loved the whirlpool bath and complimentary champagne since we were celebrating our 15 year anniversary

Review 96:The stairs but that's my bad, hopefully I will remember next time to request a first floor.

Review 97:The location, the pet friendly environment and the staff are so accommondating.

Review 98:The doggy grassy area would have been nicer if it was bigger.

Review 99:The rooms were pet friendly, but they were clean, and there were no hints of previous pets being in the room, so that was a plus! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ask for a bay or ocean view room.

Review 100:Nothing all good

Review 101:location and comfort are a factor for us Beds have to be comfortable or we won't return We have the looking glass down as one of our favorite places to stay

Review 102:Even with heavy curtains, there was too much light from the streetlights. But we like a dark room and we had the corner room (304) with a great view. If you wanted dark an inside room would probably be better.

Review 103:Just walk out the door and you're at the beach. Great drift wood collecting and walking beach.

Review 104:There was wind blowing through the gas fireplace so loud my husband and I got a total of about 4 hours sleep each night. We overheard the manager and front desk person talking about an earlier issue we had with extremely loud sounds coming from the hot tub next to our room. Tip: don't ever talk about guests in the lobby in the ear shot of other guests (even if you aren't saying any rude, it's tacky).

Review 105:Comfy bed, good access to the beach. Nice size room.

Review 106:Parking is tight for big trucks and location to beach not bad but located on a very busy park entrance. Still a good place to stay

Review 107:Good size room comfortable bed staff very nice.

Review 108:We had it all: 3rd story with an amazing view, spa tub, fireplace, and kitchenette. All for a low season, mid-week, discounted price. To top it off we were located directly across the street from the restaurant "Mo's", our must go restaurant every time we visit the coast.

Review 109:The jetted tub didn't have much pressure at all and ran out of hot water when filling the tub. The tub does not have much privacy.

Review 110:Best beds and pillows we've had at a motel. Even the balcony chairs/table were kept very clean. The staff was outstanding.

Review 111:I asked for a ground floor room and they saw that request but ignored it and put me in an upstairs room and I am unable to climb the steps. I insisted on a downstairs room so they had to talk another guest into changing with me.

Review 112:Walls are too thin, I could hear my neighbors talking, which made us feel like we had to whisper. Hard to relax because of the noises (showers, walking, talking)

Review 113:Nice clean room, staff was very friendly.

Review 114:My only complaint was that the room had a strong smell, a mixture of cooked fish and disinfectant. I bought a strong air freshener but it couldn't quite mask the odor.

Review 115:The bed was quite comfy, and the kitchen was handy to have and a decent size.

Review 116:We wished we had more time to stay!

Review 117:We loved the two person jacuzzi and proximity to local restaurants, but the best part was the beach access! We saw the most amazing sun set and loved roaming the beach looking for Lincoln City's glass floats that are left on the beach ever winter. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Review 118:The WiFi only worked for a few hours the first night. They assured us they were working on it and I'm confident the problem will be fixed for future visits.

Review 119:The accommodations were great. The room was well stocked and very clean. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will be back again.

Review 120:The bed was a little too firm for this old soft body.

Review 121:Can't beat the ocean view from the third floor balcony and the whirlpool tub was welcome after a long walk on the beach.

Review 122:I loved the whirl pool suite. We were provided plenty of soft, fluffy towels. The breakfast was good too. When I visit the coast I will definitely stay here again.

Review 123:Breakfast is limited but they are obviously trying.

Review 124:The room was as nice as any non pet friendly place. Too many hotels that take pets are run down and smelly. This room felt comfortable, and clean. Staff is friendly, welcomed me and my dog!

Review 125:Very nice kitchen, but ill equipped. Front Desk loaned a good sharp knife. Had to bake Scalloped Potatoes in Pyrex Bowl. Hyde a bed not a good sleeping bed. Recommend new Mattress or ad a foam pad.

Review 126:Exceptional Cleanliness Wonderful Staff. Kind, considerate, and immediate response to requests. # 213 is "our spot" now!!! :)

Review 127:We were asked if we'd like to upgrade, which we did, only to find our room was on the side if the building looking directly at a high fence 6 feet away and faci g the back of the cafe next door. This was not acceptable. What kind of an upgrade was that? We feel VERY ripped off.

Review 128:Pet friendlyness
