Reviews for Arabella Hotel Sedona
Review 1:tile floors were not clean, felt like I needed a rug. Only one chair in room, no place to set luggage, Late breakfast start-we needed to leave before 7am.
Review 2:the view was nice
Review 3:We had a downstairs room #150. The people above us were very noisy and you could hear every move that they made.
Review 4:Location to place's to dine and to town.
Review 5:You need a better quality of tissues. Magnified mirror would be a good thing. Having a microwave in our room would have allowed us to eat leftovers from our restaurant food ....
Review 6:Your staff upon arrival was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was good; a nice choice of different varieties to choose from
Review 7:Very clean and I like that it is wood/laminate floors...no carpet. Close to all & quiet for being off an Interstate. Great staff. Would stay there again.
Review 8:I pay about $200.00 per night. The place was very noise, we can hear evething. The second night we moved to the second floor I will not stay again
Review 9:My only criticism would be dump the powdered eggs and use real ones :-) ! But they definitely had something everybody could eat for breakfast. From yogurt, cereal, bagels, English, muffins or pastries.
Review 10:Everybody was very friendly and welcoming! The room was clean and spacious. It was an excellent value and the views from the room were amazing!
Review 11:The room itself was comfortable but too pricey for what it was. I stayed there two days and moved to the Sky Ranch Lodge for a little bit less and got MUCH MORE VALUE for the money. Office personel was very friendly and professional. They are currently doing construction on the place so maybe... once things get settled... it will feel much better there...
Review 12:I liked the patio/courtyard and the location. Thought it was very cool that the top gourmet mexican restaurant in all of Sedona Elote is in this hotel. I like the bright red color in the Arabella logo.
Review 13:The beds were uncomfortable. The pillows seemed old. The bathroom was old with the sink in the hall way separate from the bathroom. The tub/shower floor creaked when you stepped in, almost to the point of thinking you might fall through the floor. Our room was on the second floor with no elevator to bring up your luggage.
Review 14:The location was good and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Review 15:We spent Christmas Eve there and enjoyed the freshly baked cinnamon rolls provided. The staff were very friendly and the room is neat and clean, will definatly recommend to friends and come back.
Review 16:Our room in the main building was definitely a little older, but it served it's purpose. Not high end, but a good basic room. We did have some trouble as the room seemed to be a little warm.
Review 17:The location of the hotel is fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived during a rainy foggy cool spell, but the front staff gave us suggestions for a safe hike, provided maps, and we easily cancelled our second night at the hotel to head to better weather. They allowed us to check in early on our first day as long as we didn't mind being on the second floor that didn't have an elevator. We were grateful for the fairly early check in. Again, great customer service! The breakfast was very nice, but did get crowded later in the morning since the weather didn't cooperate and no one wanted to sit outside. The pool area looked beautiful, and we will plan on coming back to enjoy the area more at another visit. In addition, I want to thank the staff for finding my ID/credit card and taking care of over-nighting it to me so I could fly home!
Review 18:Bathroom was dated.Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast that produces a lot of garbage.
Review 19:Elote Restaurant in the hotel was amazing and very reasonably priced.
Review 20:a little disappointed in the quality of the room. no microwave and just some minor things that did not meet my standard. but for the most it was an excellent stay
Review 21:the view was outstanding the staff was warm and very helpful
Review 22:Never a bad experience, however this hotel does need some work. Air/heat didn't work in our room. Also, on a previous stay, every outlet, which are not many had loose connections.
Review 23:I love the location and that the hotel is right next to my favorite restaurant-Elote:-)
Review 24:Need easier to access outlets by both beds
Review 25:We were pleasantly surprised about this hotel after we saw it was ranked in the lower 1/2 of Sedona hotels. They must all be good! Great location, friendly staff. Room was older, you could tell by bathroom, but was nice. Pillows were surprisingly too tall, we're used to horrible flat pillows. These were great for watching TV, but a little tough on our necks. Free breakfast was standard hotel free breakfast.
Review 26:When someone asked for a plastic fork at the breakfast, the employee just said, "we're out of them." She then ignored the person. That being said, I would still stay here again.
Review 27:They did a super job on getting me a room close to parking. I had a bad ankle at the time.
Review 28:Housekeeping could have been a little better, we didnt get enough fresh towels
Review 29:Great service and location. For the price probably the best value in sedona, highly recomended for travellers on a budget.
Review 30:Nothing
Review 31:Accommodations were clean and comfortable, needs were met quickly and hiking trail footsteps away. The continental breakfast could meet a variety of nutritional needs.
Review 32:We had a blood and grease stain on the curtain. I forgot to mention it to the staff though until after our stay.
Review 33:The location in proximity to what we were there to enjoy was great.
Review 34:We heard the on-site Mexican restaurant Elote is amazing; unfortunately, we weren't aware that both the on-site restaurant and bar are closed on Sundays and Mondays. It was disappointing as there was no other options on-site, but it was close to other restaurants/bars.
Review 35:Everything was great. Good location for walking to restaurants and bars in the downtown Sedona area, great view of the red rocks. Our room was spacious, appeared newly renovated and had a nice balcony. The Arabella does a great job at maintaining the courtyard, which has many sitting areas to enjoy the outside.
Review 36:Staff is great. I arrived late and forgot to ask for a ground level room but the people at the desk insured that I got one which made things a lot easier for my sister who has heart issue. Thank-you!
Review 37:Andy was great and answered about a million questions for us. Places to eat, to see, to get car fixed, very friendly. She made our stay great and we can't wait to come back.
Review 38:The rim of the toilet was not cleaned for some time. I took a picture of the black mold/mildew (?) under the rim. The continental breakfast could be better for $180 per night.
Review 39:The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location is within walking distance of dining and shopping. There are partial views of red rock hills.
Review 40:Even though comfortable and pretty clean, the hotel rooms look like they purchased the furniture from an old 1980's Marriott. It is a big hotel, so can't tell about the rest of the rooms. The breakfast was down to very very basic, to the level of a cheap airport hotel style. We skipped it and went to a real restaurant. If you are looking for a resort experience, go somewhere else. We only used the hotel to sleep (very comfortably), shower and rest.
Review 41:The staff was super friendly and helpful. Jackie, the concierge went out of her way to help us out with our questions and recommendations. Jason, at the front desk was super nice as well.
Review 42:I have stayed here when it was under 2 previous names. All 3 times have been pleasant. I am REALLY happy that my last visit introduced me to ELOTE, the BEST restaurant in Arizona.
Review 43:Wished there was a newspaper in the hotel lobby or breakfast room.. Did not bring a raincoat or rain hat and found it difficult running to the next building for breakfast in the pouring rain. Also, the hutch where plates, forks, spoons and napkins were, made it a bit awkward having to walk all over especially if it were necessary to get another utensil, napkin or plate which is bound to happen..
Review 44:The hotel is very nice, clean and in a great location. Staff is very accommodating and pleasant.
Review 45:Breakfast room was a little unloved. Not the hotel's fault, but everything closes really early, so if you want to eat at 8.30 you have very little choice
Review 46:Nice pool. Good views
Review 47:Having two clocks, one for each side of the king bed was a really nice touch. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The sunrise view of red rocks from our room was beautiful.
Review 48:Disposable bowls and plates at breakfast. Airconditioning next to bed.
Review 49:Spacious room. V helpful front desk staff who helped is plan our day. Comfortable beds. Pleasant breakfast room with lovely view.
Review 50:Small bathroom desperate for update. Bottom of jetted tub was filthy or stained and so deep that getting in and out of shower was not easy. Paint peeling from walls. Sink was cracked and stained.
Review 51:Quiet room and comfortable beds and we had good view of mountain.
Review 52:Our first night the popular restaurant was closed but the second night the restaurant opened and there were so many people waiting in line and at the outdoor tables. They were loud and it lasted late. Our room overlooked the area. But we got through it.
Review 53:The front desk person was very accommodating and nice. We liked the view from our room and the balcony. The breakfasts were good and the staff friendly.
Review 54:Recommend staying on a top floor, could hear every footstep above us.
Review 55:Rooms were very large. Great location. Breakfast staff was great. Pool area was very new and nicely re-done.
Review 56:Room was to small, didn't have a table, had to bring the patio table in the room, and no microwave either for the price i payed we should of had table and microwave,
Review 57:The view
Review 58:Room was not clean . Two leftover coffee cups on balcony table. Hairs in tub. Pool could be cleaner.
Review 59:Great location, right on gallery row....which made for some awesome window shopping. Within walking distance of that artist village that I cannot remember name of. Room, was great, love the fire pit outdoor seating area, free ice tea coffee upon arrival.
Review 60:Absolutely everything was top-notch! We appreciated being able to check in a little early. Pool and hot tub were immaculate. Free breakfast a nice addition and Elote's food was fabulous!
Review 61:Bathroom smelled of urine and hairdryer didn't work. Hallway was musty. There were items under the bed so it showed the rooms weren't cleaned that well. Pool heater wasn't working so pool was really cold.
Review 62:Rooms appeared clean and neat. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was beautiful.
Review 63:no elevator so be aware if you're on the second floor you have to carry your luggage up the stairs
Review 64:Convenient location; the staff was very friendly and called our room to make sure we had everything we needed; the room was spacious and clean and looked like it had been recently updated; coffee, teas, iced tea and water were available in the lobby
Review 65:Outdoor pool is cold! Leaking rain water from the gutter made a muddy paddle on the hallway which makes your feet wet!
Review 66:Dog park is good! Location is perfect. Clean and comfortable room.
Review 67:We are a family of six in which we always book two rooms in our travels. I made sure to book both rooms with two queen beds. One room met this request while the other was just a king bed. When I phoned the front desk for correction I was asked, "Are you sure there aren't two queens in there?" I was then asked to come retrieve a key to a new room containing two queen beds. I feel it was appropriate for the front desk to climb the stairs and carry through the parking lot to rather bring me, the guest, a new key for their mistake. But, no such luck. My husband/boy's room had a horrific BO odor to it which they just dealt with. Mine/my girl's room had not been vacuumed as there were dead crickets, paper, and a marble on the floor. Our bathtub had hairs in it, and one bed had what appeared to be a blood stain on the white blanket under the main throw. Breakfast was not the greatest and the room/kitchen very dirty. So with our experience at Arabella my family of six all agree to never book there again.
Review 68:The location from the main strip was a bit further away then expected, but an acceptable distance. Our balcony views were nice. However, after walking through the property I noticed not all guests had a view so you might want to check when booking.
Review 69:Our patio only had two chairs so we were fighting over chairs with the neighbor room That would be my only complaint
Review 70:the pool and the outdoor fire pit we're great. And if u need a microwave they will bring it to your room.
Review 71:Still could use some updates. The room was clean but the carpet seemed older and the hallways smelled bad. Breakfast items were not replace although there was still an hour left until the end serving breakfast.
Review 72:Beautiful views of the area and close to a trailhead. The pool was great and deep enough for my teenage boys to jump in and not hit the bottom immediately.
Review 73:I requested 2 beds and got 1 bed I went back to front desk and gal gave me a bed with a fold out. The next day a couple was there and they gave them the same thing. I guess they complained more that they gave them a a double bed. I did not get my room cleaned 1 day. I had to complain 2 times. I drove from LA CA. 8 hours on the road.
Review 74:the food and area were great
Review 75:Wendy was so helpful and sweet. She was on top of the breakfast. Having the cold ice tea and water in the lobby. The front desk staff were amazing, very sweet and helpful. Excellent Customer Service. Great location as well, the hiking trail behind the hotel is a great spot to see the sunset.
Review 76:The hallways smelled so weird like burnt rubber. I prayed the rooms didn't smell that way. They didn't but our room did have the faint mildew smell that some hotels have. It is located just in town so you have to drive to the touristy uptown area. Breakfast offerings were not good at all.
Review 77:The staff was incredibly nice and helpful.
Review 78:Our bathroom had a faint, but noticeable, smell of old urine.
Review 79:The location and the view was great. A lot of options for breakfast was really great for having young kids.
Review 80:Air conditioner had a bit of a difficult time keeping up with the higher temperatures and the wifi was a bit slow.
Review 81:Beds were very comfortable, location is close to most of Sedona attractions, the staff was friendly, and they provide refrigerators in the room. There is plenty of very nice outdoor casual seating with great views of the Red Rock formations.
Review 82:We found that cleanliness was the biggest issue. When we checked in we found previous occupants hair all over the bathroom floor and in the shower drain. We also found spiders, ants and beetles in our room. I think that is because people tend to leave the patio doors open a lot because of the nice views etc but it was still kinda gross.
Review 83:We loved the many activities that were available to do at this hotel. We never needed to leave the hotel for entertainment.
Review 84:Room was comfortable, not cleaned by 4 pm one day. When I mentioned it on check out was told by the associate that for as many days that we had stayed, not getting the room cleaned one day "Was not too bad."
Review 85:Room was comfortable, pools were nice. Breakfast was adequate.
Review 86:The 4:00pm check-in was troublesome after a long days of driving. Did not like to compete with tour bus groups - especially for breakfast.
Review 87:Beautiful setting and well-kept grounds.
Review 88:Maid service was somewhat slip shod. When asked why the room was not done at 4:pm, she said a do not disturb sign was on the door...we couldn't find the sign..then she asked if we wanted the bathroom cleaned...after she made the beds. She was friendly and pleasant but not apparently well trained.
Review 89:The location and the fact that the Elote is there.
Review 90:The room on the court yard open to pool and spa. Beautiful views of the mountains. Clean rooms, nice people. Parking at the front door. Would gladly stay here again.
Review 91:During the night I had allergic reaction to something in the bed. Had trouble breathing. Front Desk moved our room, we lost our view and balcony and king bed. The breakfast was awful. Our trip was a waste!!!!
Review 92:Noisy aircon unit in room. Tiny bathroom/toilet with wash basin in the bedroom area. Odd lighting, 2 huge bedside lights way too bright and no other lights except over wash basin or directly above TV. Only wall outlets for phone charging next to wash basin (not best location near water) or way down behind a bedside table. Odd one way traffic system that is not signed as such and not followed by all guests. Not a cheap room either although this is Sedona in the summer. Room number was xxxA per card but room only had XXX outside door, confusing to find and door was underneath stairs up to second level. Breakfast buffett was very basic, no cooked food and in a smallish room which gets crowded with the large number of guests they have.
Review 93:Clean but small room with one queen bed. Only upside is it is half mile to Tallaquepaque shops.
Review 94:Breakfast was very mediocre, our door appeared to have been broken into with a crowbar in the past, they should really fix it, as it made my husband and myself feel uneasy
Review 95:Comfortable bed, good location
Review 96:Powdered eggs and store bought Danishes were not good. The price point for dinner at El lote made us drive up the street to find food.
Review 97:Bedroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Review 98:Small room with air conditioner close to bed and no adjustment to air vents so cold air blows directly on you from 2-3 feet.
Review 99:Elote Restaurant in same complex is wonderful
Review 100:The hotel had beautiful views and was a great value. They welcomed our pet making it easier for us to enjoy our time in Sedona. And the restaurant was soo good!
Review 101:For the price, the room needed some work, especially the mattress on the bed!! It needed to be replaced, could hear the springs when sat down on bed or laid down!! The toilet paper dispenser had rusted spots on the metal.
Review 102:The front desk was friendly and they had coffee available.
Review 103:The air conditioning system was fairly noisy
Review 104:Breakfast was good, with many choices for all. The larger swimming pool was very nice and the location of the facility was convenient.
Review 105:Waiting so long in line for the Elote restaurant. Also, because of the layout of the restaurant, at times conversation difficult due to tempo of ongoing conversations of seated guests.
Review 106:For a two-night stay in Sedona, this hotel was wonderful! Based on its central location in Sedona, we traveled easily to various locations for sightseeing, shopping, etc. Everything was very closeby. Lobby staff was courteous and efficient. Rooms ample with nice little patio. Also offered large swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Scenic hiking trails behind hotel.
Review 107:We were told we would have a view but it wasn't great. The stairwell had garbage in it and it was challenging carrying the suitcases up them.
Review 108:Breakfast and being beside Elite restaurant. The room was nice , clean and very comfortable.
Review 109:The breakfast was not that great... the eggs were bland, no bacon and not much of a selection of fresh fruit or cereal. The pillows were uncomfortable. The décor was extremely plain for the price that we paid. The electrical outlets seemed like they need to be checked out. No microwave.
Review 110:The staff were nice and helpful. The waffles were good. That there were warm beverages in the lobby. There was a fridge in the room.
Review 111:We arrived early about 1 p.m. and were told the room would be ready by 3:30 P.M. We did not get our room until at least 5:30 p.m.. Sat in the lobby watching many people get their room. We paid top dollar and got a room on the main floor that was not anything special. Apparently they didn't have enough cleaning people that day. The second shift man was somewhat rude and inferred we reserved with a company that wasn't to his liking. No view.
Review 112:Hotel is outdated and not worth the $. Even a travel agent in downtown sedona told us we could have found a much nicer place for the $. First time in sedona, so we can't complain too much since our trip wasnt about staying in our room, but more focused on hiking. We won't stay here again though.
Review 113:View is gorgeous.
Review 114:quality of room was certainly not worth the cost. Hair dryer didn't work, the toilet ran all night, the lid was loose and ready to fall off. There were gaps all around the door and the shower floor was slippery.
Review 115:Location was good
Review 116:The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Wished there would have been a microwave in the room but the staff was very accommodating and said they would bring one to our room if available or let us use theirs at any time.
Review 117:The is a Great Location in Sedona. Great Staff, I got to talk to the General Manager of the Hotel, She was very helpful and tried to make our trip a great one. We ate at Elote which is on the Hotel Property and it was absolutely incredible!
Review 118:The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size. The restaruant at the property was fantastic. Loved the location near the hiking trail and walking distance to the other shops.
Review 119:I was there with a friend and we had booked a room with 2 queen beds. When we arrived they gave us a room with one king bed and the only other option was a downgraded room with 2 queens, so we kept the king. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed with how busy they were, but they were nice and we liked the hotel a lot.
Review 120:The hotel was clean and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay.
Review 121:Breakfast buffet was not filled and workers were not around to get things refilled. Did not get the room cleaned first night. One worker working front desk and about 10 people trying to check in at one time.
Review 122:Great location
Review 123:We arrived and the person in front of us was complaining because their room was not cleaned the bed was not made, the towels from the previous guests were left! When we got to our room it was the same situation! They did upgrade our room to a nicer room and gave us a discount however check in with all the issues took over an hour! Our new room the phone didn't work and neither did the hair dryer. Also we requested a late check out the day we checked in it didn't matter we still had someone knocking on our door and opened our door at 10:30 in the morning!
Review 124:The front desk staff was nice and the property was beautiful! It was in walking distance to several places.
Review 125:Breakfast was very busy with lots of families and short staffed and out of some selections, Would eat breakfast somewhere else next time.
Review 126:Location was close to center of town.
Review 127:Office staff was not professional or informative or honest about the staffing problems. We had to wait fir three hours from 4-7 to get to our room that was booked two weeks before. The room had not been vacuumed and during the week of our stay it never as vacuumed. The first two days we did not require any towels etc. When we did expect three days after our arrival fresh towels and the garbage we put out ourselves on the front walkway. we did not receive. umtil we requested. This was Sumday morning. We checked out April 8th and the room never was vacuumed.!, Attention to room repairs is necessary. we were not informed our room had no,bathtub and the shower, tap was faulty. Broken bathroom door knob also.outside patio table not wiped down.
Review 128:Bed was comfortable. View is beautiful. Some staff friendly but not trained! Breakfast staff friendly but very overworked and they have not been taught but do the best they could. Very obvious that this hotel needs more capable staff! Air conditoner worked well. Sheets were clean and pillows and bed good.
Review 129:The description on their website was pretty inaccurate. Our more expensive room with private patio and views was on the first floor, the patio was where the cars parked, the only view was of the hotel entrance. The room they moved us to shared a balcony with the room next door and both rooms lacked real closets.
Review 130:Location is very convenient and within walking distance to shops, the tourist area, and within short driving distance to Oak Creek Canyon, trail heads, Jerome and other great places to visit.
Review 131:Very busy, fully booked with lots of kids but it was Spring Break. Should have got a room with balcony at that price. Restraurant should take reservations. Guess they make a lot on bar drinks while you wait one and half hours for a table.
Review 132:Nice pool area
Review 133:Attitude of the front desk staff except for Will (very nice). They have tried to "dress up" the place but it is still the old "King's Ransom." Photos very misleading.
Review 134:Location of the hotel is all.
