Reviews for Volcano Inn
Review 1:Wonderful, we were treated to the most wonderful hospitality from the girl that checked us in to the adorable girl (sorry I did not get there names). Would not hesitate to recommend.
Review 2:Our accommodation was in a beautiful surrounding and was really comfortable for my husband and I and three teenage children. The breakfast provided was simple yet fresh and delicious. It was conveniently located near popular locations such as Akaka Falls.
Review 3:Soundproofing up/down could be better, at least in the new building.
Review 4:Nice quiet location. The large room windows made you feel you were in a rain forest (which you are!). Basic rooms, but all that we needed. Creative light breakfast!
Review 5:Not a terrible thing...however would advise carrying your own soaps and shampoos. The ones provided even to shower are all liquid and unlabeled. Any allergies, dislikes for ingredients, smells etc....if you don't bring your own, you're kind of stuck.
Review 6:Staff friendly and seem to be available all the time. Location very close to volcano village and volcano national park. WiFi in rooms.
Review 7:The bed & linens could use some updating but that is literally the only criticism I have
Review 8:Appearing to be deep in the rain forest, and waking up to it through the large window. Also the breakfast provided was delicious & simple. And the hot-tub in the rain forest was also a huge win.
Review 9:Prepaying by check was a little scary. Luckily, check arrived at B&B within required time window.
Review 10:Homey facility with fabulous breakfast. Great coffee, freshly baked banana bread, and mango boats with banana, yogurt, and pineapple. Yummm!
Review 11:Beautiful setting, nicely designed, with spacious rooms, common areas with wrap around windows and cozy sitting room, woodsy setting, well prepared continental breakfast, quiet and relaxing.
Review 12:The humidity in the room is very high. The dehumdifier should be on, also when no one is in the room and its filters should be cleaned. This way there is a strong smell of mold when entering and starting the dehumidifier.
Review 13:Wonderfull place in the middle of rainforest.
Review 14:Great location near entrance to the national park. Quiet, laid-back hotel. Rooms simple, but very comfortable, with a view into the forest. Breakfast was good, and breakfast/lobby area almost like a treehouse. Nice hot tub area, too.
Review 15:The included breakfast was very good, but was the same everyday, so it got boring after four days.
Review 16:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities charming and set in lush rainforest. Very private and quiet. Our room was away from the main inn, in a local neighborhood, with three other duplex houses that served as rooms. Parking was tight, but still the buildings were set apart from one another enough to offer plenty of privacy. It was clean and up to date. There were two hot tubs that were clean and hidden away in the jungle. If you're not looking for a posh resort, but want a comfortable, more authentic Hawaiian experience near the Volcanoes National Park, this is the best place I've yet to stay out of my three visits to the big island.
Review 17:Unfortunately my bed was really uncomfortable (bedroom next to dining room). A new mattress or even a decent pillow to start would be a huge improvement. Other than my difficulty sleeping, this place was great.
Review 18:Beautiful location nestled amongst the trees. Really close to the national park and there are a few restaurants in walking distance. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day of biking around and the breakfast was amazing! Everything was very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful.
Review 19:A small room, but new and clean and adequate. The tropical moisture is unusual for most mainlanders.
Review 20:The home made local breakfast was amazing and plentiful. Wonderful hot tub in the colorful garden of native plants.
Review 21:We stayed in downstairs corner room which was noisy. Overhead pipes with running water, people walking around. Place seems to lack personality.
Review 22:Good location, friendly morning staff, okay breakfast.
Review 23:The property is a collection of very cute woodsy cabins with giant windows to look into the rainforest. Staff is great, morning breakfast is good and the location is outstanding for touring Volcanoes National Park.
Review 24:nothing except not being able to pay by credit card and having to send amt due by check in advance
Review 25:location--right outside Volcano National Park--view from corner suite, lovely breakfast of papaya
Review 26:I loved this unique little inn. Its all you need for a night or 2. We were so close to the volcano national park which is what we wanted. The outdoor hottub was awesome. And the big windows in the room overlooking the amazing rainforest was the best
Review 27:When we arrived we discovered that our room was adjacent to the kitchen, where they start working at 5:30 am. In order to move to another room we had to pay a little extra.
Review 28:This hotel is wonderfully located for exploring Volcano national park. It's literally a 5 minute drive from the park's visitor center. You can easily start hiking early in the morning, then come back to shower in the afternoon, and then head back to the park for a nightly observation of the volcano. Breakfast is also superb - the freshly baked banana bread was great!
Review 29:The staff were friendly, the free breakfast was delicious and fresh (papaya boat and banana bread, tea/coffee), nice view of ferns from lounge area, giant sleeping area with 2 doubles and 2 singles upstairs, outdoor undercover hot tub was very welcome after a long day (shared between other units, but no one else used it.)
Review 30:We were a little dismayed to receive an email saying we had twelve hours to pay via Paypal or lose our booking. We didn't receive the email until after the twelve hours were up, so were a bit panicky about arriving and finding ourselves sleeping in the car! The very helpful lady who checked us in explained that we would have received more emails before we actually lost our booking, but that should have been made clearer in the initial email.
Review 31:The grounds were beautiful, and the staff excellent.
Review 32:The "refrigerator strips" are a good idea, but for safety perhaps they should be placed about 18 in away from the bottom step instead of between the bottom and second step. It may require additional strips to wrap around the staircase, but visibility will be better, fall liability reduced. Plumbing sounds in Crater room. Probably can't be helped, guests should bring earplugs.
Review 33:Having reliable Wi-Fi access was really a boon to completing our business objectives. Fresh baked banana bread and fresh fruit were healthy and delicious Room rate was very good value for the convenience, cleanliness, breakfast, amenities
Review 34:The room was somewhat small and did not accommodate for 2 large pieces of luggage.
Review 35:Awesome jungle environment.
Review 36:Bare floor was cold and shower was only lukewarm
Review 37:Besides the perfect location- very cool &casual. Breakfast was a tropical treat.
Review 38:Surrounded in beautiful gardens, quiet, peaceful, well kept.
Review 39:Great location close to park entry, clean facilities, brilliant rainforest views, great breakfast!

Review 42:Location is perfect to visit Volcanoes National Park.
Review 43:Humid and cold in the evening, dehumidifier was noisy, damp smell in the room.
Review 44:Location is good, very close to the volcano park
Review 45:Breakfast was delicious, but only two things to choose from
Review 46:Very picturesque surroundings and garden, prompt service response, clean
Review 47:20 years old TV. Poor functioning shower head; poor functioning kitchen water jack. These could have been easily upgraded.

Review 57:Close to the national park so easy night viewing of the crater
Review 58:The fact that the hot tub was available all hours plus the breakfast.
Review 59:Big windows in the corner suite; free but awesome breakfast
Review 60:Room was very small. Hope they fix shower so it gets a little warmer.
Review 61:Location,isolation, brand new room. Lovely breakfast.
Review 62:No complaints
