Reviews for Seafarer Key Largo Resort and Beach
Review 1:There could have been a problem. They had just changed their policy about pets at New Year. No more pets and I understand that hotel owners do not want the responsibilities in case there is a vicious dog. But I had made my reservation before New Year so they welcomed us.
Review 2:It is a nice little resort with nice people. It might be hard to find unless you watch the Mile Marker on US-1. The room was small but comfortable and clean and the beds were great. It is a peaceful place fit for me, a retired teacher. Driving over the Keys is such a marvelous experience for me. So driving from Orlando it is the perfect distance, I can start anew in the morning and enjoy the ride. Do not forget to stop at Dolphin Rescue Center, by the Mile Marker 60 or so going south.
Review 3:The only change I would make is to add a place to charge phones. All the outlets in our cabin were already in use.
Review 4:The beach draws you in. It's set up w/ lots of seating areas: chairs, a floating area w/ chairs, tables, hammocks, free kayaks. Coffee w/ homemade muffins in the morning were great. Resort was cute & well kept. We got good advice from the friendly staff.
Review 5:I'm not going to lie to you and tell you this is the Hilton, becauseit isn'T. It's got the old Florida feel to it, but it'sperfect. The pictures uploaded do not give this place justice. The staffare amazing, friendly, and care about the property. Every day somebodywas using a leaf blower, raking the beach, wiping down the tables, tending to the grounds, etc. I always saw somebody walking around doingsomething! Anytime we had questions or needed something, they would stopwhat they were doing to assist us. I couldn't have asked for abetter staff or place to stay. Now, it's set up like a motel with multiple buildings. We stayed in Apartment 15, right next to the office. The front room has a kitchenette, dining room tablet, couch, TV, and bed. There is a small hallway with a closet and mirror that leads to the bathroom, and another small bedroom with a larger bed. We had a microwave, stove, sink, fridge with freezer (full size), silverware, and plates/cups. The only complaint is that the bathroom is tiny without any outlets, and there is no lighting in the shower. We also had a little porch with 2 chairs and a table. The beach is of course man-made. There are several patio tables with tiki umbrellas hanging over it (with rope lights at night!). Several lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs. 2 paddle boards and several ocean kayaks to rent as well - FOR FREE! One day was so windy we could not take the kayaks out, but the next day we did and it was a lot of fun! The water was clean, clear, and warm for December. We saw pelicans, jellies, and coral.. no other wildlife. Unfortunately, everywhere in the area canceled all drives, snorkels, and glass-bottom boat trips, so kayaking and hiking is the best we got down there. We were tempted to stay at extra night, but didn't because of the lack of outdoor activities due to the wind. There are plenty of restaurants around. Publix is 10 minutes up the road for groceries.
Review 6:Staff wasn't extremely friendly but they provided a good service overall
Review 7:Beautiful private beach where you can see the sunset! Good muffin for breakfast!
Review 8:Mattresses!
Review 9:We loved everything except the mattresses (which I understand will be replaced it)! The place is adorable, the dock is cute and cozy and you can see the sunset. We plan to return!
Review 10:The room was really small, you could barely walk around the bed.
Review 11:location is beautiful!! Grabbing a free kayak and exploring the environment is so easy and fun! The terrain is very cosy and well maintenances. Very small but good room!
Review 12:I loved the look of the property. It was very private and relaxing. Our accommodations were perfect. We had people staying at local hotels but everyone liked our place the best.
Review 13:Very bad cleaning. Cockroaches in the room and sticky floors. The whole place needs upgrading and was definitely not worth the money. There were jellyfish in the water and lots of seaweed. Not a place to swim!
Review 14:Big rooms. Wifi worked fine.
Review 15:These are well appointed beach style cabins with a beachside retreat area and a jetty with a table to watch the sun go down. Great value for money, even warm muffins and a coffee supplied for breakfast.
Review 16:Really there was nothing not to like. This was our 2nd trip & we are already planning next year.
Review 17:Very family friendly. Great owners. Beautiful beachfront property.
Review 18:Nothing really to dislike. Place was perfect for us.
Review 19:The staff was so helpful and friendly. We picked this hotel based on the reviews and they where right on the money. We had the best time getting to know our fellow vacationers and enjoying the beach.
Review 20:The shower water was difficult to regulate with an unusually small shower curtin and poor location of tv.
Review 21:The staff was very nice the grounds were clean and nice.
Review 22:We stayed at Seafarer twice during our trip to Florida and we absolutely loved this place. The property with its small beach area was very relaxing. We would definitely stay there again.
Review 23:Room air conditioners make a lot of noise, so it was hard to sleep. Also, if that cottage had been any closer to the Overseas Highway, I would not have been able to sleep due to road noise. In the morning, in addition to regular coffee, it would have been nice to have a pump thermos with decaf coffee.
Review 24:The grounds and villa were immaculate, well-groomed. The other guests were friendly, quiet.
Review 25:Everything about this resort is brilliant great location & facilities. We more or less had the beach to ourselves on the second day until other guest arrived. Spent a couple of hours kayaking which was great. The only bad experience was we ate at the Island Grill & we attacked by mosquito's & had to abandon our food.
Review 26:Went in October with the full red moon. Didn't put any insect spray on the first night. Whoops!! Won't do that again. Dam the No see ums and Mosquitoes
Review 27:Fantastic place. Great sunsets. Very Private.
Review 28:Perfect stay, would have liked to stay more and explore the Keys in more detail, but our itinerary could not make it possible this time. Got upgraded to Bay side villa due to renovations and could not have been happier :)
Review 29:The beds where a little soft for me but i have a sensative back! So the beds are anyones preverance!
Review 30:Cute and private ! Nice sunsets, kayaks, and sup boards! Nice owner !
Review 31:The room was very small, and the tile floor was oily and wet which was very unpleasant. The listed amenities, such as hair dryer and in room coffee pot, had to be acquired at front desk. The beach area had chairs and lounges, but they were not comfortable.
Review 32:The beach view was nice.
Review 33:Nothing really. Breakfast isn't much to speak of, but since you have a full kitchen in your room you can always make your own.
Review 34:Loved the fact that it was very quiet and peaceful at the facility. Felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Review 35:Bitten to death by killer mosquitos
Review 36:Location Use of complimentary canoes etc Sunset views Self contained facilities and large sitting room Feeling in evening Local restaurant Ballyhoos
Review 37:The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Our room was upgraded at no extra cost. The room and all the surrounding facilities were very clean. One minor critique is that the shower was just a small stall and the bathroom could use a little updating. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
Review 38:Having to leave! :( I could stay there forever!
Review 39:It was truly a beautiful beach area, view, sunset & grounds were very well kept & such friendly management & staff. We will definitely stay there again. We are from Arkansas & drove...it was an absolute wonderful time!!! Highly recommend this resort!!! Free kayaks made it even better!!
Review 40:Beds were ok but not real good. Very small bathroom. Some people may have difficulty getting in and out of bathroom
Review 41:Location was great. Loved free kayaking and beach area. Local feeling
Review 42:Bring bug spray! Mosquitos were prevalent once the sun went down.
Review 43:Excellent Property - Had everything that we needed. Clean room, airconditioning, great beach, kayak rental, friendly staff, even BBQ'sthat we used to cook our fish after we went fishing.
Review 44:No pool, but then it's a small place & it's right on the beach so you can go in the sea instead. A basic breakfast but what was provided was nice.
Review 45:Great location on Key Largo. Parking free. Good location for shops, restaurants etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was in a lovely chilled location right on the beach. It is very peaceful & relaxing. The rooms were simple, spotlessly clean and had all you needed. Hassle free check in/out & everyone was welcoming. A welcome break from the big cities we previously visited!
Review 46:Kitchen facilities in bedrooms:- kettle, plastic tumblers, no sachets of tea/coffee, no stirrers, no creamers. You cannot put boiling water into a plastic tumbler! Breakfast left outside office each morning - tea/coffee in flasks, muffins under net, after a short time in the heat of the sun the muffins become inedible.
Review 47:Location on Bayside - excellent, near everything - restaurants etc. Easy to find on main US Highway 1
Review 48:Housekeeping was hit or miss. Overall clean but floor wasn't swept & housekeeping made one bed but not the other.
Review 49:Great little beachfront. Enjoyed snorkeling & kayaking & watching the sunset. Quaint Keys-cottage feel.
Review 50:Room was small, but that was ok, it was extremely clean, and had everything we would need. Outside facilities were perfect, very nicely decorated. Would def visit again!
Review 51:Location is wonderful! Pretty quiet, beautiful sunsets, great fishing from the dock. Rooms are clean. We had a couple small issues with some cleanliness, but the staff jumped right on it and fixed them.
Review 52:Although 21st century updates were made, some minor issues like counter space in the bathroom was lacking. A dressing table with a mirror would have been helpful
Review 53:Owner run and operated. Perfect Key Largo 50s vibe. Property was spotless. Free parking.
Review 54:Room was kinda small. Shower was very small. But we just hung out at the nice little beach most the time so it didnt really matter.
Review 55:The little beach was awesome. It was quiet. Cool tiki torches and lighting. It was extremely relaxing and night. Staff was nice and helpful.
Review 56:Was not told we had "limited maid service" until checkout. Several times did not get enough towels or washcloths. Desk person said we should have been told to put towels on the floor, which I did after day one. Still didn't get it right.
Review 57:Friendly staff. Good location. Decently priced.
Review 58:The breakfast was a bit too simple: just a muffin and coffee. Also, you had to be fast cause otherwise all muffins were gone. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit since we're in fruit heaven. The staff was ok but not that well informed: the girl told us we didn't need reservations for the snorkeling tour but when we went there, everything was fully booked!! Luckily we could go the day after but you defintely need reservations!! Cleaning could have bene better cause it was still very sandy in our room after the cleaning lady had come by....
Review 59:The small but nice beach. The room was also ok.
Review 60:The room was spacious with a generous sized kitchen. The property is well kept and attractive. There's a dock, chairs and tables right by the water where you can watch the sunset every evening. The use of kayaks was complimentary for guests which was an added bonus to staying there. The location is central to everything that you want to see and do.
Review 61:We had the room near the road so we had quite a bit of noise from that. The room was quite old and would have benefitted an update, especially the shower area.
Review 62:It had a nice small beach area, great for watching the sunset.
Review 63:Room was ridiculously small, property felt like a KOA campground, so if you are into that sort of thing I guess that's good. I had to leave a day early and was not given a refund or discount. Breakfast consisted of some muffins sitting on a table outside.
Review 64:Room was clean, property had a secluded feel.
Review 65:The sound of the air conditioning in the bedroom.
Review 66:The private beach is just perfect. Facing the sunset in a hamac, a few chaises and tables on the beach, it is absolutely perfect.
Review 67:What a wonderful find! Nice little beach, quaint, nostalgic room, friendly staff, lots of little extras such as use of a free kayak, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, and muffins, coffee and bananas in the morning. The best part was sitting in a chair in the water in the evening after the sun went down watching the heat lightning off in the distance and meeting some wonderful people from all over the world. I'll be going back there again!
Review 68:I would of liked a newer bed. The bed was squeaky, but comfortable enough to get a good nights rest.
Review 69:I loved that we had airconditioning, but also a beautiful oasis of nature just outside. The staff was friendly and kept the room/ grounds well taken care of. This resort is by far the most beautiful one around.
Review 70:Coffee, muffins and OJ breakfast not out until 8 am. We had to leave at 8 am to get to our dive boat. It would be better if the breakfast was out at 7 am for those of us who have to leave early for dive or snorkel trips.
Review 71:Very clean room (although very small). Comfortable bed. Small, cozy and quaint old-time Key Largo accommodations. Hammocks in the little beach area. Nice sunset views.
Review 72:Owner, Henry very outgoing and friendly. Older place that could use a reno but for the price good. Very clean but usually stay in larger branded resorts. Overall very pleased and would go back if in the area
Review 73:Shower was very small and didn't have good pressure.
Review 74:Nice little place with a gorgeous sunset view. We had a larger garden view room and it was quite spacious. Plenty of room to move around and keep all of our luggage. There was a small fridge, microwave, and table for two. Flat screen tv and wifi were nice. Staff was very nice and offered hot muffins and some other things for breakfast. Cleaned our room without us asking.
Review 75:The room was very nice but there was no room for storage of anything.
Review 76:Nice quaint Keysie place. The outside was beautiful, the beach very pleasant. It was nice to have the kayaks to use.
Review 77:We managed to miss the property on the highway a few times over as we arrived. We later learnt to spot the "Bright Yellow Seafarer man" from a distance in order to drive in. Maybe if the trees could be trimmed around him, he would be easier to spot along the road?
Review 78:Although some might say basic. the Seafarer was just what we were looking for. A very clean, relaxing, no bother, place to stay. A perfect little sandy beach with plenty of tables, chairs and a couple of hammocks dotted around We were able to walk over to Denny's to eat in the evening. Other places to eat, shop were only a short drive away. Staff were very helpful, both before we arrived via e-mail and on site. Would defiantly recommend.
Review 79:NOTHING NOT ONE THING
Review 80:I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff was outstanding. The grounds are beautiful. Very clean and comfy rooms. Can't wait to go back.
Review 81:The over inflated price of what was a rather dated accommodation.
Review 82:The best part of our stay in Key Largo was the private beach, not big but a lovely little jetty and a surprise visit from 5 very friendly manatee's in the early morning. This was worth the stay.
Review 83:Homemade muffins and cookies each morning, beautiful beach area for watching the keys sunset, free kayaks for guests, fridge/microwave/tea/coffee in room, 2 double beds for just us 2, Barracuda restaurant just opposite with great value food and a varied menu, very close to John Pennekamp State park, free parking on site
Review 84:A large group came in had 4 rooms and like 35 people we couldn't even use the beach...
Review 85:We had a blast. This is a great place to stay. The staff was great . The beach was great and quiet. Will be going back!!!!
Review 86:The room was a bit smaller than we had expected, but it was very clean!
Review 87:The location was perfect and right on the water with a private beach and kayaks. The beach was very quiet and peaceful with hammocks and chairs to lay on. The staff was extremely friendly
Review 88:Not the quiet getaway... Tiny rooms, old bed, Parents allowing their children to ram the floating dock with kayaks they had not reserved. We traveled several hours from our place outside Tampa to do some fishing and were told by the front desk rep that kayaks are available and there is a dock on the property as well for fishing. We had to fish around a boat (boat owner not a guest on the property but personal friend of owner) that was moored at the end of a 50 ft dock in about 3 ft of water. Despite all that, we had a successful day of fishing. No cleaning station and the owner stated the he "strongly suggested" we not keep our catch. If we decided to, which we did, duh, we could NOT bring any fish into our room no exception. No kidding! Would not recommend this property and will not return!!
Review 89:Sunset was nice.
Review 90:Nothing not to like about this place.
Review 91:The whole place cute and comfortable we could see the sea from our patio The staff helpful and the home made cookies and morning muffins delicious. The beach was lovely plenty of chairs and hammocks even saw dolphins swim past really close.
Review 92:The room was a little small inside.
Review 93:The small beach and chairs provided a relaxing setting and the free use of the kayaks gave us the opportunity to explore some great areas from the water.
Review 94:Zum Frühstück gabs selbstgebackene Muffins! Was für ein toller Start in den Tag! Am Abend einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang genossen und dann schwammen noch 2 Delphine vorbei! Einfach wow
Review 95:I didn't have enough time to explore the property.
Review 96:I arrived super late after an extensive day of traveling and snafus... they left me my key, a map, and the WiFi password and a note wishing me luck on my interview.
Review 97:The staff were wonderful, funny and kind. The whole place felt like a community of travellers together. The wee beach was peaceful, and offered good snorkeling and sunsets.
Review 98:Very relaxing, beach access with kayak, friendly staff who provided excellent dinner recommendation, cookies and muffins provided as an additional unexpected treat.
Review 99:the entrance is hard to find gravel road and not enough parking.
Review 100:it was friendly lots of of people from europe and south america staying at the hotel great beach love visitation.
Review 101:The place is near The ocean (but no swimming part) with a restons area ! Lovely place in key largo with a free parking! The room was clean and The owner has good muffins in The morning!
Review 102:Don't expect the Marriott. This is a funky old-school, laid back little resort.
Review 103:We stayed in a cottage 40 feet from the waters edge... sunset from our doorstep... cool grounds and decor... helpful friendly staff...
Review 104:The bed was not very comfortable. Blankets were cheap and thin, mattress was not soft.
Review 105:The staff at the Seafarer are amazing - so, so friendly. Our room was itty bitty, but we didn't spend much time in there because right out the door was the beach which was filled with hammocks, chairs, and little tiki huts. We rented kayaks (free!) and explored the area. There are grills available for guests and we made use of those. Overall, a great place that I recommend!
Review 106:Housekeeping never cleaned our room. We came back after a long day ando didn't have fresh towels or sheets and trash was full.
Review 107:nice location on the beach, great views. Staff was friendly
Review 108:I didn't like the bed situation. There were two double beds crammed in one room. My husband and I had to sleep on the sofa bed cause the beds were too small for two people. The bathroom was small but doable.
Review 109:I liked the location and the use of kayaks and paddle boards. The beach was nice too. Very clean. The room was clean as well.
Review 110:Coffee could be served a little earlier for the early risers.
Review 111:Wonderful place to stay! Beach area is so relaxing with a great view of the sunset. Staff was very friendly.
Review 112:The owner walked us to our unit and showed us around. He explained the current updates and accepted our feedback and opinions. The dock was awesome and we could see tons of starfish.
Review 113:None. Price is a little too high (but ok compare to the expensive place which is the keys islands)
Review 114:This place is a little side of paradise, you wouldn't expect such a nice place just on the road. Can only recommend this place. The staff is very nice, we arrived late on the first day and they manage to arrange us. The room is clean and convienent. The beach place is lovely (swimming towels provided, kayaks, standing paddle ect..). Parking place available. Free wifi in the room. Microwaves and fridge in the room. Breakfast & coffee at the reception.
Review 115:Our room was right behind the office. It was tiny and we could not get rid of the mildew smell. The bathroom had no ventilation whatsoever......so. Also, we got billed twice for our one night stay.
Review 116:location on the water. Great looking beach. Quaint.
Review 117:expecting a little kitchenette, but only had a frig and microwave
Review 118:location nice little beach friendly staff laid-back vibe new, comfortable beds new, flat screen TVs good wi-fi free kayaks free parking unlimited coffee in the morning clean rooms
Review 119:There was nothing that I didn't like.
Review 120:It had a small bay front dock and swimming area that was peaceful and perfect for watching sunsets. They had Kayaks for free use. They had Manatees swim by almost every night. The staff was pleasant. The rooms were clean. It was a great value for the money, which means a nice place at an affordable rate.
Review 121:No plugs for hairdryer in bathroom rooms were very old and need much upgrading. I would say 50.00 a night would be sufficient for what you get.
Review 122:It was on the bay and very pretty
Review 123:The couch was very uncomfortable! The bed was comfortable but it seemed like our head was lower than our feet.
Review 124:The location was very nice! We enjoyed the beach (small but nice) and the staff was very friendly.
Review 125:I had a difficult time sleeping here. My bed was right next to a window with the outside light shining in on the bed. I ended up covering my window with a sheet. One housekeeper would noisily roll by my at 8am for a while. There's was also noisy work being done here, but they didn't start until later in the day.
Review 126:Both the staff and the people who stay here are extremely friendly. The kayaks that comes with a room is also great. My first day out kayaking, I was right out next to a small pod of manatees.
Review 127:Price for the new year period was high but we were late in booking. Room was not serviced for 3 days so after being on the beach, room can get sandy. limited facility in the room we had, fridge and micro wave only. At night it was either loud road traffic or a noisy A/C unit.
Review 128:Location is perfect, gulf side with a private beach area and good beach facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 129:Very quaint laid back little village. Saw stingrays, snapper, mullet, dolphin (mammal) right from the dock. A short trip in their free kayak brought us to 4 manatees!
Review 130:The air conditioner was by the entrance door and therefore the area near the bed did not get cool. Considering the distance from the Duval St. area I felt that the nightly room charge was high as we were not in a historic house and the rooms were nice but were not of a caliber to be worth the almost $300.00 per night even in peak season and there were no amenities included such as a free kayak trip or even the sarongs they say will be in your room for your use and are not.
Review 131:The rooms were clean and roomy. The young men staffing the booth for kayak rentals were really nice and helpful and the night kayak tour was amazing and the price was quite reasonable.
