Reviews for Coconut Palm Inn

Review 1:You couldnt swim in the ocean there because there were too many jellyfish.

Review 2:The staff, very helpfull and very friendly. Loved the fire pit, and the smores, we met so many people. Liked screened in porch and bbqs.

Review 3:The poor breakfast and the fact that the hotel was a bit far from anywhere interesting were a bit of a downside (but not deal-breakers anyway)

Review 4:The staff, amenities, sport activities, our great family room and the beautiful location were all very nice aspects of our stay.

Review 5:Breakfast was a bit basic. Door lock was a bit stiff. Having said it was good value for money it was allot to pay for 2 nights B&B.

Review 6:Great setting with opportunity to canoe anytime. Very happy staff.

Review 7:Not much to do in the area - had to drive everywhere and traffic could be bad at times on US Route 1. You could also hear the traffic noise from the highway.

Review 8:Breakfast, kayaks, paddle boards. It was small, quiet, and the pool was great. Beautiful sunsets from the dock. Enjoyed the wine at sunset too. Room was comfortable and cool. Shower was huge with great water pressure. Loved the fire pit and s'mores making at night.

Review 9:Didn't dislike anything but a shelf near the sink would be great.

Review 10:I think a 9.2 is a fair rating for this resort. It's not the place to go if you are searching for nightlife, waiters working for tips or a large breakfast menu. ( I would never give anywhere 10 ) The resort oozes charm, our room, no 4, opened onto a private Lanai which in-turn opened to a deck and then the beach overlooking a lovely cove. There is plenty of space for the small number of residents and you can relax alone or sit around the evening fire-pit and socialize. Breakfast is just right for the location, okay no cooked egg stewing in a terrene but fruit, breads, cereals and yogurts, may be disposable plates and cutlery but lets face it your on the beach. Another table or two a little closer to the food might be good but we a few yards to a table when your in such a great place is no price to pay. We found the Staff brilliant, I guess working in such an idyllic place should put a smile on anyone's face. Without a doubt our favourite resort of the 5 we visited around The Everglades and Keys

Review 11:DO NOT reserve a downstairs room. The loud and annoying guests above us created an environment which was not relaxing when they were pounding around.

Review 12:The location was excellent with an easy walk to many locations. The staff was very accommodating.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:The hotel was in a perfect location on the beach. It is a small hotel so all the staff get to know the guests personally. The little touches make the stay special- the complimentary glass of wine in the early evening, the fire with marshmallows to toast later are very welcome. No restaurant but plenty nearby and the breakfast buffet is good

Review 15:Much too expensive. On the pictures it looked like paradise, but in reality, you could hear the cars from the highway, rooms were small, old and not clean. The extra large bed was only 1,5m, and the airco made so much noise that is was difficult to sleep. As breakfast bagels were served on a paper dish with a plastic knife, not even eggs or fresh fruit salad.

Review 16:the sunset view

Review 17:Pictures and description from Booking.com are not fair with the price you pay at the end: - No restaurant, no bar. Requires to drive between 15' and 30' if you wish to find something good. - Light breakfast: bagels and cheese, that's it. - Outside buffet, plastic glasses, paper plate. Only 2 tables for the whole hotel and long chairs... If raining: good luck ! We ate our breakfast in our room. It reminded me camping times.

Review 18:Nice view and relaxing ambiance but this hotel totally overrated (too expensive) given the services offered. I don't thank booking.com.

Review 19:Room we stayed in was a little small but this isn't a huge complaint at all. If you are looking for a bar for a social life you won't get it here but this what I liked about this place quiet and relaxing.

Review 20:Fun place to relax. They provided nice touches every day. Came out at 5 offered wine, at 7 made a little fire and provided everything you needed to make smores. Had kayaks, bicycles to use any time. Also gave out a cute little goodie bag for Thanksgiving day. Just a fun place to stay.

Review 21:The location was great, the room was big and clean, it had everything we needed. The hotel view was impressive, the breakfast by the beach was an excellent complement. The staff was so helpful, informative and kind.

Review 22:Lovely location...perfect setting for a Bayside breakfast! Good facilities and friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast a real bonus. Good location for getting the best out of the Keys.

Review 23:Leaving

Review 24:Fantastic setting and basic but relaxing facilities, perfect place to chill and unwind. We used it as a stop off on the way to Key West, wish we had stayed here longer.

Review 25:Most beautiful getaway right at the beach under the coconut trees. Peaceful surroundings with hammocks and other attractive recreational areas. Very clean rooms with lovely decor and nice colors (at least in room 3). Very welcoming staff. Top class customer service I would say, at least compared to the price of the room. Bonuses: -free bike and kayak rental -nice pool area -welcoming drinks There were only one downside to it: the fact that we had to leave this place next day, because we had already booked another hotel for the next night from Key West :) So, I have no complains about this place nor the staff and would choose this hotel again any time travelling to the Keys.

Review 26:We had an awful weather and therefore could not enjoy the beautiful nature. The only thing I would change for better was the breakfast which was too simple.

Review 27:Magic place, I wish I could spend more than one night there.

Review 28:The room we were first allocated already had a resident BUT we were then dealt with a really awesome way (yes that's US speak). It s how the hotel deal with problems not how they arise, so 110% for that.

Review 29:Great service when after an initial error - the room we were allocated already had an occupant - we were dealt with in a very professional way. Sea-front location great and the wine at sundown was nice touch and the breakfasts were lovely. Friendly helpful staff who called me at my next hotel later leaving something behind collected on our way back. Oh and they ordered our take-way pizza too!

Review 30:This place was beautiful! A piece of heaven on earth. The manager Tracy is amazing and very professional. Ashley, the front desk receptionist is a truly delightful individual and goes out of her way to make the guest feel welcomed. We were a big party and I was hosting my son's birthday there. Both ladies did a great job at treating my guest like family. What a wonderful time we had!

Review 31:The cleaning supplies are a little strong smelling (yup, I'm digging for something).

Review 32:Loved it; was a great experience, a lovely place for a quiet weekend. Total relaxation. Staff was super. Would highly recommend for a low-key not overly fancy weekend.

Review 33:What a blissful oasis. An absolute gem! Perfect place to unwind and relax while being treated to Tracey and her staff's kindness and generosity. Ashley has s'mores on the beach over an open fire every night, preceded by a glass of red or white. Tracey has gone above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome. In all of my travels I have not come across a more perfect combination of tranquility, beauty and ahealthy dash of personality. Perfect place, wonderful people, we will be visiting again!

Review 34:They were remodeling the room next to ours so parking was limited during the day. And our walls were vibrating from a saw while we were trying to rest after a morning dive. They offered to move us but we were leaving the next day. Would still stay here again.

Review 35:Nice "beach" area and piers. Great location.

Review 36:The only thing we didn't like was leaving. We would have stayed months....

Review 37:It has a story book picturesque location. Our comfortable room was ON the beach. It oozes the Key cool.

Review 38:Breakfast could me more comprehensive Easy to hear what the neighbours are doing No restaurant on site

Review 39:Bayside location Nice atmosphere Lovely staff

Review 40:To leave this place!

Review 41:The location of the hotel is hard to find but if you found it, it is so beautiful. The staff is really friendly and the opportunity to use a stand up paddle or cayak is still amazing..

Review 42:Need little sound of music. If we have a hot tab more nice!

Review 43:Front of room is ocen and we don't need key and I don't need looking for toilet! So quiet and enjoy free breakfast with iquana and friendly quirrel! (When you go you undersatnd the mean). The place is no restaurant and bar but you can bring all your drink and food! If you have a charcoal you can barbecue your self! We could so relax! Thank you very much! Staff is so friendly!

Review 44:Book when weather is good if you are looking for water based fun! All water themed entertainment locally shuts down during high winds.

Review 45:Excellent staff! will go the extra mile... beautiful grounds with enchanting views, especially at sun set. Old florida style rooms keep in outstanding condition.

Review 46:Somewhat disappointed that the room did not have a water view. I thought that all the rooms had a water view and ours was the only one that did not.

Review 47:Loved the grounds and the location on the water.

Review 48:Everything was very nice!!!

Review 49:A fantastic room, comfortable bed, the beach, the breakfast... Everything was just perfect! The lady in the reception was so nice and friendly!!!

Review 50:That we couldn't stay longer!

Review 51:A beautiful property, a laid back feeling, and very helpful staff. The sunsets are incredible, and the hammocks and pool are relaxing. We stayed for 6 nights, and the staff also helped my husband plan a surprise by putting roses and wine in the room! The small touches like smores in the evening, wine, screened in porches, and the quality of service makes it stand out from other places. A lovely hotel; I am sure we will be back.

Review 52:carpet in rooms

Review 53:really a bit like paradise, direct Access to a cool beach to chill, gratis Kajak rides, great staff very friendly, great experience to have the breakfast on the beach (bagels, fruit etc. great choice) and the marshmellows and Hershey bars on grilled fire, rooms small but cosy, but fully equipped,

Review 54:Staff not responsive to my need. I accidentally left a shirt and only realized it after checkout and departure. Called next day and asked for it to be retrieved and sent to me. Desk rep said they would check and email me status. I have not heard back from them .

Review 55:Location and facilities

Review 56:Wished we had been advised of the need to have some insect repellent. As dusk draws in, little biting bugs seem to explore local unprotected flesh. Take some repellent to make the most of this resorts great facilities.

Review 57:Loved this place. The lowest cost accomodation of our Florida stay but certainly the best in so many measures. The receptionist was really welcoming and her introduction of the resort and facilities had us smiling from the beginning. Great location with waterfront location and free use of body boards, cycles and kayaks. All the normal pool facilities with loungers, chairs and hammocks dotted around. Evening fire pit to to meet and socialise with other guests and great Al fresco breakfast. Excellent value and quality.

Review 58:Dated rooms that need some repairs and shower head/faucets needing replacing (broken and rusty) Bottom sheet that was ripped. Air conditioning that creaked all night.

Review 59:Very friendly staff. Good location.

Review 60:No issues at all.

Review 61:Fantastic location with ever helpful staff. All rooms face onto the beach and everybody has free use of canoes, bicycles and table tennis equipment.

Review 62:We reserved the last room didn't like that there was no outdoor patio for us. We were in 117 room seemed to be an after thought. Friends complained of bathroom size and no where to put things for us women while getting ready in them. We were outdoors most of the day so room not a huge issue. Would definitely come back.

Review 63:Quaint property easy to meet other guests, grills were nice to have, boat ramp was convienient, property was clean.

Review 64:Amazing staff! Ashley greeted us upon check-in with the biggest smile and rum punch! Tracy recommended great restaurants and booked the perfect snorkeling trip. We stayed in a beautifully decorated suite with 5-star furnishings. Every little personal request we had to make our stay even more comfortable was met and delivered with a smile. It was so nice to stay at a resort with all the recreational equipment (kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods, bikes) available to use with no rental fees. The cherry on top was wine at sunset and a bonfire with s'mores every evening. We will definitely be back soon!

Review 65:I love having the paddle boards and kayaks for sunset. Breakfast outside with the iguanas is so fun. The staff are amazing and so helpful and friendly. I cannot say enough about the place. Go and experience it yourself!

Review 66:Extremely well kept grounds, super friendly staff and well equipped common areas. Quality of lounge chairs, hammocks etc reminded of a high end hotel. A true find and we will be back!

Review 67:The breakfast may be improved.

Review 68:Great location, on a quiet bay. Beautiful swimming pool. Communal areas very clean and tidy. Everyday free cocktails and fire for marshmallows. Kayaks and paddles available. Wonderful sunset! The staff is very kind.

Review 69:I would've rated it higher if a bathroom was located near the beach. Since there is not one it's difficult to enjoy the outdoor facilities if you arrive before ck in and there check out is 11 so its difficult after check out. We had to go to the dairy queen across us1. We got there early to enjoy the afternoon snorkeling/kayaking but had to go do other things till 2. :-(

Review 70:The grounds are well maintained. The owners/staff is nice.

Review 71:Nothing bad at all.

Review 72:Amazing location right on the Gulf. Staff really friendly -given a complimentary rum punch on arrival then wine at sunset along with "smore's " cooked on an open fire. Iguanas wandering round, free use of kayaks, paddle boards and bikes (tho it was a bit hot for cycling. ) a perfect holiday place - lovely pool, hammocks and chris under the palm trees we really wished we had booked to stay longer as we stopped only on one night en route to Key West.

Review 73:We loved the Cocoanut Palm Inn. The staff (Ashley!) is charming, welcoming and helpful, our room was lovely and bed so comfortable and all the amenities -- such as s'mores and wine at sunset! -- are lovely. The setting is beautiful lit tastefully in the evenings to add to the appealing atmosphere. We would return and would highly recommend.

Review 74:Mattress needs to be replaced or a topper put on it. We could feel springs in some places.

Review 75:Friendly staff, beautiful property, clean and comfortable room. Loved the screened porch.

Review 76:The property was beautiful. A serene spot to take in the beauty of the keys. The room was small, but well appointed. The sunset wine was a special treat. We would love to come back.

Review 77:We could not use the pool and breakfast was just fruits and bagels... I would've preferred a bigger breakfast.

Review 78:Everything was great! Staff was very personal, unlike big hotels. As soon as we checked in we were offered rum punch, wine was served every evening around 7:30pm, camp fire with smores was around 8pm, and then they recommended some great places to enjoy dinner by the water. Even though the breakfast wasn't much, I did like that fact it was out by the tiki hut. I loved the iguanas begging for food!

Review 79:Our bed was a little uneven in room 9. Nothing horrible by any means just a little uncomfortable. That's it. Everything else was amazing!

Review 80:pretty much everything. Our room was just the right size, screened in porch was great. Pool and view were on point. Loved the fire in the evening with s'more fixin's. Very good with the details, and I am I big on the details...rum punch when you check in (so good!)

Review 81:The Kayaks and SUP's were available at a moment's notice. There was plenty of beautiful scenery to enjoy while paddling. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Wine before sunset and smores after dark at the fire pit!

Review 82:Nothing ,

Review 83:Beautiful place, friendly people, welcome drink ,was my birthday bottle of wine& card in room really special place to be,wish we had more time there to enjoy

Review 84:not a bad experience but some fresh fruit would have been nice at the breakfast buffet

Review 85:friendly staff, cleanliness, guest kayaks, an overall laid back and relaxing experience

Review 86:Not very sound proof. Heard lots of noise from above and around us.

Review 87:Had no idea this place would be so cute or the people so nice. Beautiful setting. Lovely sunset over Fla Bay

Review 88:Bathroom was small and no hooks for clothes. Could hear people in other rooms through bathroom.

Review 89:Location is great, sitting out on dock, quaint, clean, great managers, screened in area outside room was nice to sit out on in morning.

Review 90:Tremendous staff (imagine me sitting on a pier, watching sunset, and lady bringing me a beer, free beer, just so the sunset is better). Good, fast, free WiFi (work never stops). Very nice neighbourhood, quiet and relaxing.

Review 91:The room was beautiful and clean, but no view whatsoever. Very small.

Review 92:Loved the comfy feel. Great piece of property with great view and great location.

Review 93:The only fault I could find was the different lightbulbs used in the ceiling fan light, no biggie on the scheme of things.

Review 94:A wonderful location on the beach. This is without doubt the most relaxing break we have taken. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Unfortunately we could only stay one night and the round trip from England is around 8000 miles but we are planning to come back in Sep/Oct for a weeks stay.

Review 95:Breakfast was poor and could easily be improved.

Review 96:Lovely location with excellent facilities. A very romantic 'couples hotel' where you never felt overcrowded. Hammocks were great as was the pool and Kayaks. Guests were of all ages but would not recommend this hotel for children.

Review 97:Second stay in same room, which is a bit tired looking and lacks a full length mirror. Also, it is a tight squeeze due to trying to fit too many items of furniture into a tiny space.

Review 98:Situation and staff most attentive

Review 99:Probably needed more plates etc for cooking, however this is not a bad thing it's just an observation

Review 100:The staff are great and cannot do enough for you. Great location and so relaxing, so much so we extended our stay.

Review 101:everything was excellent

Review 102:This inn exceeded all expectations we had about this last minute unplanned trip. Coconut Palm Inn deserves a 10/10 for location, hospitality, cleanliness, options and exceptional attention to detail in all areas. The staff and most gracious Manager, Tracy made sure our experience was nothing less then exceptional. We will be back for certain.

Review 103:Loved the calm and seclusion. Very clean and well kept. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer. Loved the "mostly adult" atmosphere, since we were taking a few days off from our four kids, and just wanted a romantic night away.

Review 104:We booked at the last minute and got a very small, (no view) room (12B) which was very clean & adequate. We did not mind much as we spent most of our time on the beach - but if it had been a rainy day, the room would have been oppressive.

Review 105:Stayed just one night on way to Key West. Beautiful tranquil location, lovely little beach, dock, lots of waterfront chairs, hammocks, pool, kayaks, etc. Staff were friendly & helpful. Had dinner nearby in Snappers on the coast - excellent fish menu with some jolly music.Breakfast in the beach cabana is basic but perfect with juice, fruits, breads, coffee. Would definitely return.

Review 106:Breakfast on beach is nice idea. But it consisted of 2 choices of whole fruit and defrosted pound cake. Didnt expect Starbucks but coffee was not good. Great local breakfast options and kept yogurt in fridge in room. Not enough of a concern to keep me from returning.

Review 107:The grounds were beautiful and kayaks were easy to take out. Room was comfortable but on the small side. Staff was helpful. Very relaxing stay!

Review 108:We stayed for only one night but it was amazing. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. The facilities are great too: paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. there are also a few barbecue sets in the property where you can enjoy the beautiful view. Property is also great spot for sunset. Property is very quiet so that you feel like you are alone in the little paradise which ws what we were looking for: quiet romantic place. We would definitively try to go back again.

Review 109:Room was extremely small and had only one chair. No suitcase stand. Breakfast setting was beautiful but breakfast itself uninspired.

Review 110:Location is great. Property is well-maintained. Staff helpful and pleasant.

Review 111:Not much in the way of restaurants within easy walking distance. If you have a car though, no problem.

Review 112:The room was very clean and comfortable, as were the hammocks on the beach. The wildlife was exceptional and varied, including Iguanas, woodpeckers, red cardinals, lizards and manatees.

Review 113:The only thing was the noise in the rooms - we could hear the couple in the next room talking and coughing and their shower was obviously right next to our bed, so was quite loud.

Review 114:The rooms were lovely and clean and there was a great range of facilities. The cakes at breakfast were delicious and we had a barbecue at sunset which was a highlight. The staff we met were very friendly.

Review 115:The relatively quiet and peaceful location, the very friendly and helpful staff, the opportunity to just do what we wanted without having to look at the clock :-) This is another little peace of heaven we have found on earth !

Review 116:The sofa bed is not comfortable for adults or children over 12 years old.

Review 117:Perfect quiet setting. Great to have access to kayaks, paddleboards, and hammocks. Plenty of chairs on the beach and docks to enjoy the peaceful water area. Nice touch to offer a small breakfast even though it was not included.

Review 118:Wish we'd been able to take a bay view balcony room, but due to our late(ish) booking, none were available. Not the hotel's fault, of course. A small beach into the water would be the icing on the cake.

Review 119:The quiet location and view (but who on earth sat down and designed that carbuncle of a yellow monstrosity next door? He probably received an architect's award for it too!).

Review 120:Second bathroom door did not lock. Easy fix and did not distract from our stay.

Review 121:Peaceful and comfortable. Room 14 great room with updated accommodations and bay views. Pool and kayaks nice distraction and execise. Close to restaurants and beaches.

Review 122:we only chose the one bed suite with a sofa bed in lounge, our kids hijacked the bedroom so we goy sofabed which is not not really comfortable for adults so if i went again i would opt for a two bed room

Review 123:the view from the room, the beautiful relaxed setting, the extra eqpt like fishing rods, kayaks

Review 124:We stayed there on the way to Key West. The location on the water was excellent. The room was small but fine for one night. Breakfast was a joke. Some coffee, apples and a chocolate chip type cake.

Review 125:We had problems with the plumbing but the manager came and fixed them very very fast. Great service.

Review 126:The place is pristine, in the heart of the keys, with a view straight out over water and mangroves. We loved the kayaks - first thing in the morning though you need to run to grab one. Breakfast on the beach was wonderful, as was sunset on the dock. Can't recommend highly enough

Review 127:The grounds and views were just beautiful. Use of the free kayaks were a great surprise as was the heated swimming pool. Will definitely stay here again!

Review 128:Everything was perfect.

Review 129:The size of the hotel (small) made it feel personal and under crowded. The staff (especially Zee and DeeDee) were brilliant - helpful, friendly and just made our stay even better.

Review 130:Maybe somewhere to get a cold drink or ice cream on the hotel premises would be the only grip.

Review 131:This is a gem of a hotel, small and intimate right on the water. You feel as if you have the place to yourself at times and it hits the right note between relaxing and activities.

Review 132:The women were lovely and so sweet the rooms were so clean and cozy ! To wake up to the sights is just beautiful. Plus everyone is knowledgable about stuff to do around there ! We're def going back!
