Reviews for Pavilion Hotel
Review 1:the room older than the pictures , ants in the room, offer different kind of room because 2 rooms that we booked had problems
Review 2:good location, nice staff
Review 3:Poor service. Rooms and Toilet is untidy. The sheets were not replaced, we knew because there were hair. Think there are bed bugs too. They were really itchy. We told the reception about it. Shower was not working on day 1. We had to use the bidet just to take a bath!! It was repaired late morning. Gross but we did not have a choice. We couldn't use the bath tub, it was really dirty. There was a bundle of hair stuck in the bath tub. There was one instance when a Male housekeeping just opened our door. He has a key and just opened the door when he perfectly knew we were inside (all of us are girls in the family room). The proper thing to do is to knock and announce himself as "housekeeping". He can't just come in like that. My sister screamed because she was putting on clothes at that time. Front Office/ reception at night is not very good. He provides useless/ absurd suggestions. Ex. I've cancelled the half-day Cu Chi Tunner Tour after realizing that check out time is at 12nn. The tour lasts till 2pm. he suggested that we can still go with the tour but needs to leave the room by 1pm. So i explained to him that tour lasts 2pm plus travel time, which he knows! Because we got the tour at the hotel and he was checking the computer. He asked me to go back to the room and said he'll provide another solution. He'll call me on the phone when he thinks of something- he called and said he can provide us a different room and pay half rate for late check out but the room can only accommodate 2 people ( there are 8 of us in total! in 2 family rooms!) The Female receptionist in the morning is better though. She is apologetic and prompt and very attentive.
Review 4:The location- It's very near major tourist spots and Ben Thanh market. The Female receptionist in the morning is good. She speaks english well and accommodates us well too.
Review 5:Only that the tub is too high that you need to hold on to the walls when getting out. We asked for rubber mats but they seem Not to know. Breakfast isn't bad but can be improved slightly.
Review 6:The place is so clean and staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in a family room and it's big room. Location is also great! It's a 2-3 minute walk to Ben Than Market and Street Food Market at night. Area outside is alive but not wild that it makes you feel safe to walk back late at night.
Review 7:Some staffs were unable to understand english. But their good attitudes maked up for it. Towels were dirty but not a big issue.
Review 8:Good location. Frendly and helpful staffs.
Review 9:Lack of draw space for clothes (2 people sharing) Bathroom door could not close properly
Review 10:Extremely friendly and accommodating staff Location was ideal for all amenities
Review 11:The room we had was dated, and in need of renovation.
Review 12:Staff and location were great - the hotel is located a short 5 minute walk to the Ben Thanh market, 15 minute walk to the Central post office and Bitexco tower.
Review 13:No real guests area at the reception. Our room was on the back side and there was a building in construction. Then no late sleep as very noisy from 7am! No international channels on TV.
Review 14:Location
Review 15:Breakfast a bit basic and the breakfast room gets busy at peak periods
Review 16:Right in the city centre so you can walk to most of the major sights and the main market. We had a spacious upper floor room with views but some looked smaller and dark. Friendly staff and good service, always happy to help. A good budget option for a couple of nights
Review 17:The room wasn't what I expected basic but was perfectly fine to stay a few nights the service soon made me forget anything bad.
Review 18:The staff were the most friendly I've met in my travels. Helped me with money exchange, directions, taxi booking and overall amazing service. Including the little unexpected extras given to me at night such as platters of snacks and drinks.
Review 19:It s located right in the heart of hcm city, very convenient to tourist attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful except for one of the maid, She got upset and vocally expressed her anger when she had to make us another room since we had to Move to another room on the 2nd day for the reason that The same room was not available when we booked it, the facility is kind of old and worn out, Not as nice as the photos in the website, if u want less noise, avoid lower levels and front rooms, However I don't think family rooms are available in the back. I would stay here again for the conveniences but if I go with my family then I would choose another place with less noise from he street
Review 20:I had no bad experience, but could not find CNN on TV.
Review 21:The very friendly staff and lots of efforts to help me with visiting the important destinations.
Review 22:Breakfast was not enough, we came down a lil late and there is no more food in the warmer. One lady who serves the food is not so accommodating and it would be nice if she can smile a little.
Review 23:The location, the superb staff, the availability of things to do in sgn.
Review 24:the breakfast is very very limited. the refilling takes long and once the plate is empty, like the fruits, they do not refill it with the same fruit, this is same with the main courses so its not advisable to take breakfast late. But i think that should not be. The breakfast is also the same in my 3 days stay there the room i requested was wiith city view but what was not given that request. the housekeeper was also rude and does not smile.in my 2 times encounter with her.
Review 25:The front desk people are friendly and very helpful.
Review 26:Not enough privacy due to window and blinds in hallway, Lack of breakfast options. Other than that perfect stay!
Review 27:Excellent Location, Food nearby, Most helpful and friendly staff always willing to help and talk, Free Amenities and cookies, daily housekeeping.
Review 28:Nothing
Review 29:This hotel is situated almost in the city centre. So you can get easily everywhere. Staff was always ready to help us, answer all our queries and fullfill our requests.
Review 30:There was a bit of smell in the bathroom
Review 31:The hotel is very near to the bus station near Cho Ben Thanh for the bus 152 to/from airport. The hotel is also very close to Cho Ben Thanh. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and the front desk staff speak English very well
Review 32:By watching the pictures on internet I thought the room and the toilet were better than what really are.
Review 33:The strategical position of the structure, very close to all the important things to see.
Review 34:Our room had a kindof transparent window looking at the corridor , so we had the corridor light the whole night. There was a very loud generator next to our room, so we had a bad sleep.
Review 35:Staff is extremeky helpful, when we looked for a pharmacy they even came with us to show where it is. Excellent location, few minute walk to the main market and all the bars and restaurants. Could not be more central.
Review 36:Breakfast is just fine, but not enough ( bacon :D )
Review 37:Very friendly and helpful staff, very accommodating, always happy to book stuff for us or show places to visit and few tips on local scams.
Review 38:old linen and towels, partition wall (very noisy can hear people walking pass room when they are talking), breakfast not much variety
Review 39:friendly staff and good location. Wifi signal strong.
Review 40:Really uncomfortable beds!! shower pressure poor, broken toilet flush handle, bathroom old and in need of renovating. we stayed in 2 different rooms as we broke our stay by going to the Mekong river. the upper floor was only slightly better than 2nd floor which was very noisy due to the air con fans in the balcony. Wouldn't stay there again. But relatively cheap if ur not fussy at all.
Review 41:Friendly helpful staff, very good location
Review 42:A bit more storage place for clothes. Light from adjoining building came on at odd times and lit up bedroom.
Review 43:Staff were really professional, cheerful and extremely helpful. They are an asset to the establishment. Room was very comfortable and clean. The location was perfect and within walking distance to major attractions.
Review 44:Noisy room. Window faces staircase. Hear people walking up and down stairs always. Especially housekeeping every morning from 7am and they were loud. Not all rooms provided with a safe. My one was sitting unattached in corner of wardrobe.
Review 45:Friendly staff. Good location. 2 small bottled water provided daily.
Review 46:Some renovation might be good like bathroom tube tent or bathroom door
Review 47:Kind staff always ready to help and understand your needs. Close to the city center.
Review 48:The sincerity and helpfulness of the staff made up for any shortcomings. Their resourcefulness made out trip much more pleasant. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.
Review 49:Noisy building site and cockerels behind early in the morning, guess it couldn't be helped!
Review 50:Mi the receptionist was very helpful with everything including tours!! And made the stay much easier for us as first timers in nam
Review 51:- Small room with no window. - Breakfast was poor. Very limited choice and almost everything was empty.
Review 52:- Location was good. - Staf was friendly and helpful.
Review 53:when I make payment they asking 3% charge,I have to pay in cash. And I book a tour trip through front desk. They charge me the price 30% higher than outside. And the tour is suck!
Review 54:I booked early. Price is cheap. Previous rate is really high
Review 55:Nothing bad. An average hotel in this price range.
Review 56:Staff was great. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Great location in the middle of the tourist area. It is an average hotel in this price range.
Review 57:The room pictures shown bear no resemblance to the room you get. Rooms are poor standard, poorly maintained and towels look like kitchen towel. Breakfast area sits 16 people on 4 tables, so you end up sharing. This hotel is, most definitely not 3 stars and I wonder how it could ever have received 8.1 score.
Review 58:Bed wasn't to comfortable.
Review 59:Staff were amazing, very helpful, friendly and nothing was a problem, location is great and easy to get around from here.
Review 60:Breakfast starts at 7am which is quite late especially if you have a full pack itinerary
Review 61:We arrived late but the staff still allowed us to pay the next day because we did not exchange enough VND. Staff are helpful and gave us tips on how to go about HCM and other attractions
Review 62:Staff were very friendly, and was in a great location. We accidentally took our room key to the train station on check out and the Manager raced out to get it off us before catching our train.
Review 63:Maintenance of the apartment was not good, the doors did not fit and the apartment was not really finished. Breakfast was almost non-existent if you went after 9. A couple of things that needed fixing never got fixed in 4 days.
Review 64:Great location, very friendly staff.
Review 65:We found The bathoroom a but dirty and the pictures did not match the reality. You can find better at that (high) price..
Review 66:The staff was eccellent and the service too
Review 67:They gave us a room with a frosted glass window facing the hallway and elevator, when you are in the room, other guests can see what you are doing and at night we had people trying to look inside, really weird and creepy, we couldn't sleep as the light from the hallway comes thru the window all night. We got given a different room after complaining and even though it was better, we had lots of ants everywhere. Very old towels, and breakfast was a joke. Again, I have to say the staff there is great and they do what they can to help. We paid for 7 night although we moved to another hotel 4 days earlier. Just pay more and go to a better place if you can.
Review 68:Staff made it better, but the place isn't nice.
Review 69:The room seemed unfinished! Electrical sockets hanging off the wall and not all working - quite unsafe. The TV power and Ariel cable were not connected. There was open ducts in the bathroom. Everything above eyelevel was filthy.
Review 70:Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the Wi-Fi connection was excellent. Location was quite good for all the main sights - within walking distance.
Review 71:Had a great time here. Staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful. Really good breakfast too. Excellent location. Room is clean. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ho Chi Ming
Review 72:Not the cleanest place we have been staying in. The bathrooms are in need of refurb, beds, towels and sheets too.
Review 73:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good central location
Review 74:For a 3-star hotel I had really expected a window in the room. Even though we booked the cheapest room, I think they should have let us know in advance that we had to stay in a room without a window. Otherwise everything was perfect.
Review 75:Staff was very friendly, everything was very nice, except that the room didn't have a window.
Review 76:The room was nice and quiet. The internet worked very well. If you get a room looking out at the street not so quiet. Easy walk to the markets, restaurant and shopping. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will stay here again
Review 77:The hotel is centrally located in the busy center, near many attraction. The room is well equipped and very nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was decent. It's good place to stay for the value
Review 78:NO PRIVATE, someone sneek and stalk my room from the small holes of the window, so scary!
Review 79:Staff was helpful and kind, specially the girl staff. Good location for night life, comfortable bed.
Review 80:facility is not really good, the lift's very small, wifi's weak, toilet's old...
Review 81:location is very good, near Ben Thanh market and many attractions, shopping malls. Staff's nice
Review 82:Humidity
Review 83:Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. The room was clean and nice. It is very well located, in the best area for shopping.
Review 84:The toilet seat broke so going to the bathroom was a challenge.
Review 85:It's within walking distance of Ben Thanh Markets. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
Review 86:Breakfast was very average and our toilet leaked water onto the bathroom floor. It was repaired a couple of times during our 4 night stay but was still leaking when we left.
Review 87:The location was near the market and within walking distance to many museums etc.
Review 88:May have changed breakfast menu. Repeating breakfast for few days is kinda boring
Review 89:The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Whenever you need help, they definitely will try their best to assist.Best crew ever
Review 90:the room is a lot older compare to what the photo shown. Very small room and old bathroom. No shower screen, bathroom become very wet after shower. The bedside table was half broken and there is no safe box in the room neither. Average breakfast
Review 91:Friendly staff, very central location. Walking distances to all the attractions and close to night market
Review 92:We stay here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel is central location in Saigon. We will stay in this hotel again also recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
Review 93:Stayed at our favorite boutique hotel in Saigon again. Same same but better so much. Breakfast is excellent. We love this location on a quiet street but very close to everything. They now treat us like family. We would definitely stay again
Review 94:The staff were amazing, after breakfast all the staff were waiting to say goodbye, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and spacious. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends
Review 95:The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a great area. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody visitting Ho Chi Ming
Review 96:unfortunately, we felt that this hotel needs an overhaul. It's old now. Bed bugs were killing us. and the smell of the room was not so pleasant though. I hope they consider renovating this property otherwise, the location and staff and breakfast will be perfect.
Review 97:we loved the staff who really helped us with our tours and sightseeing. their effort to assist you was really great. And the location was good.
Review 98:Stayed previously but hotel messed up our return booking. Our deluxe room was quite shabby with a huge hole above the shower and no safety deposit box. disappointing!
Review 99:The condition of the hotel was not as expected. It felt claustrophobic and the shower facilities were old and poor. Also we were warned on arrival about the our safety and high levels of crime in the area 'snatch and grab', so be careful with your belongings.
Review 100:The staff were quite helpful
Review 101:We booked 2 rooms. 1 family n 1 double room. But on our 1st day.. We were giver 2 double room. We were told that the family room have water problem. But I suspected the room was given to other guest before us
Review 102:Friendly staff. Some of them can even speak bahasa melayu
Review 103:The staff were very helpful in organising tours. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Not overly fancy but priced accordingly. It suited us perfectly.
Review 104:Unfortunately my girlfriend found a giant cockroach in our room immediately when we arrived, but the staff grabbed it solving the issue. This kind of things may happen everywhere, but women really get nervous with it.
Review 105:The staff is very helpful and always available. The location is very nice, easy to reach tours, markets, restaurants. The room space is good also.
Review 106:Couldn't get a seat at breakfast. No window to the outside. Window in room was over the stairs where people walked past.
Review 107:Friendy staff. Nice reception area. Good wifi.
Review 108:Breakfast for moslem people very limited choice only bread and omelette or scramble egg
Review 109:Location near benh tan market, staff very friendly and willing to help, honeymoon set up with petal flowers in the bed for honeymoon couple, welcome drink upon arrival
Review 110:My room (room 102) was directly next to the stairs, and separated by a glass pane covered with window blinds. Even with the blinds fully closed, when people were going down the stairs, they could see clearly through into my room from that angle, i.e. what I was doing etc, meaning no privacy. Heck even If I was naked changing clothes, people could see through! The window blinds and glass pane should be replaced with a wall. Also, on the last night of my stay, the air conditioner in my room broke down (started leaking water very badly). The staff could not repair it (as the technician was not available at night) and they offered me a standing fan for the night. All rooms were occupied. Although I was compensated for this (via free transport to airport the next day), I find this breakdown unacceptable as HCMC is a damn hot and humid place (Just standing outside the hotel led me to sweat profusely). The air-conditioners should be frequently checked and serviced to mitigate breakdowns such as this which inconvenienced me.
Review 111:The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent (right at the heart of HCMC). The room was clean and adequately furnished. They even gave a welcoming fruit and nighttime biscuits.
Review 112:Bed was quite hard. Airport transfer price was high so we hailed our own taxi
Review 113:Close walk to Pham Nga Lao/De Tham area and also close to markets, army museum and reunification palace
Review 114:Staffs are very attentive, friendly. To meet our request, they prepared our breakfast half an hour earlier (usual time from 7.00am). Very appreciate for the arrangement.
Review 115:Room without wndow Unsafe installations (fan in bath room was unprotected / without cover. Overall dirty even vietnamese standards. Behind the fridge was a whole in the wall to a room that was stinky. All the noise from the floors, stairs, elevator was heard inside the room. It sems like the pictures here on booking.com show a other truth. What we saw, was different as that on the pctures. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 116:The location is good. It is near a market and lots of restaurabts abd street food
Review 117:Toilet blocked. No toilet paper at one stage. No tissues. No safe until asked for. No milk in fridge for tea & coffee.
Review 118:The lovely girls in reception
Review 119:The breakfast room is small. Our room and bathroom were small to moderate in size.
Review 120:Pavilion Hotel is an excellent value hotel well located in the center of Saigon. Breakfast is quite good, wifi works very well, and the staff is pleasant and helpful. With its inexpensive price, I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Review 121:Everything was perfect but one thing: Breakfast sucks. After 2 days, I didn't bother going for it... The hotel staff should re-design the breakfast from scratch...
Review 122:- room with no window - clean in appearance but not when you look in details ... - old and need a total refresh - bed way too hard
Review 123:- good location - staff were nice
Review 124:Breakfast wasn't great Reception and common areas a bit bired although rooms were fine
Review 125:very helpful and friendly staff, nice comfortable room Good location in District 1
Review 126:Nothing negative
Review 127:We contacted Pavilion Hotel prior to our arrival, asking for tips and ideas for our trip. We got good information and then we booked a three day trip to Angkor Wat with the help of Pavilion. The trip worked perfectly, and we could leave all excess baggage at Pavilion during that time. The staff are so charming and helpful, just great! Location is good, easy walking distance to market etc. Rooms without window are quiet, rooms with windows a bit noisier but larger. Great value, helpful staff, clean rooms, decent breakfast, really all you need.
Review 128:I enjoyed it! The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. They helped organize a taxi for me to go to the airport. Will definitely stay there again
Review 129:Do not accept the offered transportation option - even during holidays. Our ride in from the train took longer than a taxi line since ourutterly superfluously "greeter" and her child made us wait forher brother's taxi to show up. The fare for the 8 minute ride was386,000 vnd (C. $18), while the meter indicated 41,000 vnd. Outrageous! The private car to the airport (15 minutes late) was a better deal at258,000 bat (C. $12), but a taxi would have cost half that. Hot water -tepid. Ac - tepid. Too bad the amenities do not equal the friendlypeople. Tepid all around.
Review 130:Initial communication was very prompt and welcoming. Follow up wasalways prompt and friendly, but the negatives (sales pitch?) shouldserve as cautions. Location between the Market and Reunification Palaceis good (not great!).
Review 131:The breakfast was very limited in choice and often things were not available ( such as cereal, cutlery etc), but provided when requested.
Review 132:The hotel is well situated for Ben Thanh maket and bus station and the main attractions in Ho Chi Minh.
Review 133:First they gave us a room without window (but from the photos/description was not highlighted!)Room was not clean, ac unit doesn't work one night, breakfast not good
Review 134:Position
