Reviews for The Ferringway Resort Condominiums
Review 1:Cable was out. needed to be fixed. Oven didn't work could have used a toaster
Review 2:Great location to down town. Well stocked. Staff was very accommodating.
Review 3:We originally reserved deluxe Drake condo which would have been on one level & offering easy access. This condo was an Essex model & had 45 steep steps to access front door & 14 stairs to access living room inside condo. For elderly folk like our group, this proved to be extremely hard especially when carrying heavy cases.
Review 4:Condo offered plenty of space for a group of 4 adults. It was clean & reasonably equipped.
Review 5:It is very difficult to locate the condos at night and there are a lot of stairs to every condo. The web site notes that there aren't elevators, but doesn't quite express the many steps involved getting to each condo set on stilts in sometimes low light. There was nobody to greet us as we arrived late so it was up to us to find the three units we had rented.
Review 6:The condos we stayed in were clean and well kept. This would be a nice place to stay for several days.
Review 7:No one to greet us on check in or during weekend. First time we saw an employee was Monday morning check out. Lot of steps to bring luggage in. Mattress was horrible. Hair dryer was marginal. Was suppose to be wall mounted. Couldn't walk to stores or restaurants.
Review 8:A lot of sq ft for the money. Not a lot more to like.
Review 9:This is a 1983 poorly maintained condo. We felt we were living in government subsidized housing. The bed were like rocks no one slept and it's no where near downtown u less you count a 2 mile uphill walk in busy traffic near
Review 10:Spacious
Review 11:Might want to check "breakers" in Condo #48 for future guests. I had the microwave and washer going and blew a breaker. Maintenance came right away but for safety purposes, it probably should be double checked.
Review 12:Condo #48 was very CLEAN and very nicely decorated! I would actually request to stay in that particular condo on our next stay.
Review 13:Didn't see the staff to ask questions. Office hours are 1100am until 4pm. Fold out sleeper couch was loosing springs so the mattress was falling through the frame. Luckily the small children slept on the sleeper couch.
Review 14:The condo was nice. Liked the kitchen, washer, dryer setup in the condo. The hot pool is large. Quiet place not a lot of noise.
Review 15:unit is so, so dated. It was clean, but needs a serious upgrade. Mainly- the stove/oven (one burner did not work), the furniture (sofa bed was awful; mattress sunk completely into the spring); loft level was very hot (even with the two window A/C units on).
Review 16:Location is great -not in town but close enough. the pool and hot tub were good - clean.
Review 17:Mousetrap under stairs made us wonder what might be in the condo. The master bedroom had a choking amount of carpet fresh on the floor that took two days to air out. We never actually saw the staff at the condo. We missed check in window (1hr), so picked up keys. For check out, office was locked so left keys in drop slot.
Review 18:Our family of 5 had plenty of room and I appreciated having the washer and dryer
Review 19:The stairs most of all,and the beds second. Not enough lighting, and one lamp did not work at all which made it worse.it is a 1980's complex and I can only speak for the unit we rented. If mobility a problem not for you.
Review 20:Not much for thr unit we stayed in. I cannot say anything positive really.
Review 21:The condo that we had was not as described. There is no patio (well, I don't count the walk way in front of the door a patio), the windows are very close to the walk way. Although there are windows in the living room, we could not open the windows. Also, I wish we had brought towels because they were for smokers.
Review 22:The location is not too far from downtown.
Review 23:Fold out sofa bed very uncomfortable, may suggest air mattress or replacing soda bed.
Review 24:Accommodation were very well provisioned, rooms were clean, there was nothing we were lacking as far as amenities.
Review 25:Bathroom was quite small with limited counter space. Only TV was in living room and it was a small flat screen. Small window air conditioners in bedroom and living room, reasonably effective but noisier than central air as expected. Tall stools or chairs would be nice for counter especially if using your PC there.
Review 26:Fresh air and quiet surroundings were wonderful. Late check-in was hassle free. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good parking near suite. Very well equipped kitchen. Large heated pool and Hot tub and rec area very well maintained. Good WiFi in our suite. Modem right on counter for direct Ethernet plug in. Real wood burning fireplace with wood supplied (too warm to try out but nice touch). Very close to town center but away from main traffic routes. Stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay again if visiting the area.
Review 27:Our apt was on the third floor with no elevator.
Review 28:The apartment was spacious, clean and in a great location. Very convenient to downtown with great restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 29:1. Lugging heavy suitcase up and down several staircases to find my unit. Unit & building numbering seems haphazard. 2. Cheap construction & materials.
Review 30:Nicely appointed kitchen.
Review 31:Odor in the apartment. We bought air freshener and candles, but were unable to stay a second night. Beds were not comfortable. Staff was unsympathetic and cold. We booked three nights, stayed one and were refunded for one. Will not go back.
Review 32:Spacious room Quiet
Review 33:We arrived at 4pm office not open, only by chance another guest told us where we could pick up key. Sofa bed and double bed uncomfortable and in urgent need of replacement. Kitchen equipment generally tatty no matching crockery, just a collection of all sorts many plates chipped.
Review 34:Situation and general spaciousness of apartment
Review 35:Plenty of space to relax and rest while vacationing in the Durango area.. Great location; nice pool and hot tub; easy access to downtown and the mountains.
Review 36:Bad mattresses, bad pillows and lack of proper air conditioning in the unit. Two small AC units downstairs for a large hot loft bedroom upstairs. Paid a lot of money to sleep poorly. Should have just gotten two rooms at a local chain hotel.
Review 37:Location of condominium complex and we like having a home type atmosphere when traveling and staying somewhere for 3 nights.
Review 38:A bit dark inside the rooms. A funny maze of staircases and balconies - an architect gone mad? But on the other hand: not your usual boring square hotel !
Review 39:Kids loved the pool and the GREAT internet connection. Best ever in a hotel ! !
Review 40:Air conditioner too small to cool off condo. Mattresses were old and uncomfortable. Not walking distance to anything. A three bedroom at Palmer downtown was only $25 more.
Review 41:Pool was clean. We left and stayed on main street at General Palmer Hotel....much better.
Review 42:The condo was very clean and well-equipped and the staff were very helpful. We were missing one set of sheets and the manager came as soon as we called.
Review 43:I thought one bathroom was stretching it for 6 people. Also the knobs in the shower were a bit challenging. The shower head kept dripping. The fan would go on and off intermittently.
Review 44:I liked the location and the privacy the best.
Review 45:-price quoted was without 9.90% tax included, a difference of $40 for a 2-night stay -facility was below standards (decor and facility was dated and worn) for price -not possible to double lock (dead bolt) front door -AC (window) did not work in one bedroom; was replace after first night, which was good
Review 46:location was okay; but after two day visit would have preferred to stay closer to downtown
Review 47:Out dated. Otherwise OK.
Review 48:Unit very outdated
Review 49:we never saw any staff members the whole time we were there.
Review 50:The Location
Review 51:Way too many stairs. Plan on at least one flight for a "ground " floor unit. Bed was rock hard.
Review 52:Close to downtown Durango
Review 53:excellent location, nice park like setting
Review 54:comfortable, 5 minute drive to Town center
Review 55:Only one bathroom to share with four people was inconvenient.
Review 56:Easy to get to from town.
Review 57:TV system is terrible.
Review 58:Bed could be upgraded and more seating in the living area.
Review 59:Home away from home
Review 60:every thing was perfect
Review 61:Sleeper couches were a bit soft and hard to get up out of.
Review 62:Nice, quiet, well stocked.
Review 63:Third floor condo with many stairs. No elevator. Beds not comfortable.
Review 64:Living area comfortable.
Review 65:Hard to carry things up all the stairs. Poor lighting on stairs. Unit shows lots of wear. Never found staff on site.
Review 66:Near down town.
Review 67:Nice apartment all new and very comfortable Spacious Clean Nice location Nice pool
Review 68:very clean smart apartment, lots of space, well equipped, would definitely recommend it.
Review 69:Great place for the price.
Review 70:It's a beautiful location, and the rooms are nice and private. We loved that it felt like a home.
Review 71:Balcony
Review 72:Well equipped, good facilities and whilst not special was very practical
Review 73:EVERYTHING... LOCATION, COMFORT AWAY FROM HOME. We will definitely stay here again if available at the time.
Review 74:Pool closed before closure time.
Review 75:Location and amenities.
Review 76:Property is rundown and needs a major remodeling. The furnishings throughout the unit need replacing. I personally would not rent this unit again.
Review 77:Location
Review 78:Felt isolated. Didn't see anyone else - guests or staff!
Review 79:The Ferringway Resort is basically a group of about 50 apartments 2 miles out of Durango. Each is privately owned so guess it depends which you get and how it is fitted out. Ours was fantastic - two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a bit dining sitting kitchen area with every appliance you could wish for. All in all it was exactly what we wanted and was ideal. It is a car journey out of Durango and felt pretty isolated. Check in closes at 4pm and our key was just left in an envelope outside a door. Didn't see anyone the whole stay and it did feel a little strange. Be aware you are charged to your credit card two weeks before you arrive.
Review 80:Bee's in unit when we arrived (3/4), they were circling the chimney out side, appeared to be able to come down and in. We used the provided fire starter and 1 log to make a small fire, the Bee's went away and did not return. The manager also did not (still) return my call, after I left a message at the service number provided in the apartment instructions. Not really a professional business action, in spite of the fact we were able to solve the problem.
Review 81:The mattresses were very poor, our backs ached quite a bit when we woke up. The pillows are flat and the bed linens and towels seem old and worn.
Review 82:Everything was clean, convenient location, easy to check in late.
Review 83:Check in was a bit confusing, office was closed and locked but we figured it out. Being close to a college there were rowdy loud people out and about at odd hours of the night, but to be expected being close to the campus.
Review 84:Exceeded our expectations for the great price! Very comfortabke and clean, kids loved the loft and we all loved the fireplace. Wish we could have stayed a bit loger, but will definately be back!! :)
Review 85:everything, such a good place to spend a quality time with family, and it is value for money! it close to downtown and easy to get everything you want
Review 86:that the hottub was a community hot tub.....each group of condos should have their own hottub.
Review 87:loved...loved....loved....everything........I had a wonderful time and the stay was very homey....
Review 88:Rowdy neighbors one night
Review 89:We wanted to spend a quiet weekend in Durango. The condo was great. For the same as we'd spend for a hotel we had double the space, a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy fireplace. Can't beat it
Review 90:Sleeper sofa quality in our particular condo was so poor that it should "not" be counted as an advertised sleeping surface
Review 91:Clean and spacious Well outfitted kitchen Ample hot water Quiet surroundings Nicely maintained pool & hot tub Private porch was greatly enjoyed
Review 92:The window AC units were not enough to cool the rooms even well into the night. Nothing like sweating at night on your Colorado vacation.
Review 93:plenty of space for a family of six.
Review 94:Window air conditioner units. Slow internet.
Review 95:The spaciousness and the amenities for a very good price. Peaceful location yet close to Durango attractions
Review 96:I didn't see on the advertisement that they were air conditionedwith window units. It worked out ok but it does make the upstairs warmerfor those that stay up there.
Review 97:Location was great for easy access to downtown. We enjoyed the pool& hot tub too!
Review 98:The office was not open on Thursday @ 4:00 PM when we arrived. We were directed where to get the keys. But my credit card was charged for the entire amount instead of split with the other couple. That would not have happened if someone was there. Also, they could not reverse the transaction.
Review 99:The walk from the parking lot up to the 4th story. The floor plan. Bedrooms on lower level, living & kitchen area on top level. Difficult for older folks.
Review 100:Love the area. Rustic pld town. Unique shopping.
Review 101:upstairs owner was disruptive every night of our stay - heavy steps and sounded like weight-lifting between 10pm and 2am every night....
Review 102:comfortable place to stay with kids, nice fireplace with firewood, hot tub on premises.
Review 103:Beautiful location, we we love the condo.
Review 104:Nothing.
Review 105:Conviently located. Close to down town.
Review 106:Had to climb 3 flights of stairs, unit was tired and seating was uncomfortable, only a loveseat in the living room, would not book again.
Review 107:The beds were medieval torture devices- they were that uncomfortable.
Review 108:Everything about the place was terrific, especially the fully contained kitchen.
Review 109:Condition of unit. Poor carpet, old, musty. Did not at all match web pictures. It was an old college apartment not a modern southwestern condo.
Review 110:Space
Review 111:Furnishing a bit outdated and old.
Review 112:Great value for the money. Convenience. Well-stocked.
Review 113:Everything was there, extra towels, blankets, pillows, movies, games, cooking utensiles and pots and pans, etc. and plenty of space.
Review 114:Wifi did not work well. There was only one TV.
Review 115:Location to the resort was good. Pricing was good.
Review 116:We loved this place. Will book at this place again
Review 117:Need better a/c
Review 118:Wireless didn't work. Was expensive.
Review 119:Having full kitchen and washer and dryer
Review 120:Clean, comfortable, great location.
Review 121:The stairs were difficult and unexpected to load and unload the cars.
Review 122:We really liked the pool area.
Review 123:It was clean, quiet and very comfortable. My family had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay!
Review 124:During the summer months, the AC is not adequate, especially upstairs where the heat rises.
Review 125:Better than a hotel - more room.
Review 126:showers were a little loud
Review 127:loved the location
