Reviews for Days End

Review 1:The price was different from when I book the room. I had to pay a pet deposit. Wasn't part of the online booking reservation.

Review 2:Local to the conference I attend

Review 3:There was no curtain in the shower when I arrived to my room. There was two visits from police and during one visit someone was arrested. I did not feel comfortable. The bed was not comfortable. This hotel is in a good location and have lots of potential but unfortunately I will not stay here again.

Review 4:It's in a walking distance from down town and there are many businesses near by.

Review 5:Parling for the hotel was difficult

Review 6:Price and location was good. We arrived late and the manager called to check on us and would make arrangements if we arrived later.

Review 7:Sink and faucets both broken. Had to pay extra for ice. The room was not very clean. No hot water for a shower until late in the morning.

Review 8:We were able to have our dogs with us.

Review 9:when I first got there they put us in a room that already was vacant with peoples stuff...i asked for a microwave or fridge and they said it will take 12 to 24 hours for a maintenance man..when at first they said yes.

Review 10:the environment felt comfortable

Review 11:I didn't like the fact that our first room the air conditioning didn't work so they gave us another room, a downgrade, (from 2 queens to a king) and the air conditioning didn't work in it either. Then you had to PAY for ice. PAY FOR ICE AT A MOTEL??? That's a first. The front desk was not friendly at all and it seemed like we were in the way and they wished we would just go back to the room. We have been to Durango many times and its always been a great experience but this was our FIRST and LAST time at Days End there. The internet wasn't good. We didn't have to pay extra for it but I would if it would work. Don't advertise you have free internet and then it doesn't work.

Review 12:Facility in need of maintenance and repair. Name of motel deliberately misleading to appear it was a major chain.

Review 13:Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location ok, fairly close to downtown, long walk tho.

Review 14:Shabby and worn. Although it was a non-smoking room, it smelled of stale cigarette smoke of years gone by.

Review 15:Good location and a lovely creek running through the property.

Review 16:one of the worst motels ive ever stayed in. carpet felt moist, i kept my shoes on the whole time. sheets hardly stayed on the mattress. smell was out of this world. its the kind of place where i slept wearing all my clothes. for $115 i expected much more. do yourself a favor and spend the extra cash to stay somewherelse.

Review 17:Location was good. they have a pool

Review 18:Paper thin walls, could hear neighbors tv all night. Sketchy people hanging around parking lot. Dirty stairwells. We should have paid more to stay somewhere else

Review 19:Good size refrigerator

Review 20:First room the AC did not work - they moved us without a fuss. No coffee-pot in room and coffee in office was not ready until 8am. This facility needs a lot of attention. Had to buy ice out of machine.

Review 21:The mattresses were old and it didn't seem as clean as it could have been. The sheets were thin - like been used for years thin.

Review 22:It was affordable and the man at the front desk was pleasant

Review 23:There was no free breakfast, should have been for the price of 93.00 for 2 people.

Review 24:Liked that it was non smoking, clean, smelled nice, friendly rmplotees.

Review 25:Holes burnt in drapes. A/C didn't work well and smelled like smoke. Very stale. Towels were like sand paper.

Review 26:Quiet. Easy drive around with good parking.

Review 27:Not the most freindly staff but it was Labor Day weekend so he was probably dreading the workload. Lots of motorcyclists seemed to stay here. The neighbors dog was over exuberant and tried to jump all over my dog. The room was a little "worn"

Review 28:Big room, good location right next to a riverpark walkway so ample opportunities to excersise your pet but there seemed to be more than a few "420 teen circles" along the parkway which detracted somewhat from the beauty of the place.

Review 29:no fridge, pay for ice, very few amenities. price the same for other motels with more amenities

Review 30:room was clean, quiet and comfortable. ample space to park trailer provided rags to wipe down bike

Review 31:It was a place to stay if you are watching your funds and in need of a one nite stay. The facility is very much in need of upgrades at the least better beds and pillows

Review 32:Water leaks out of the shower, Very small bathroom counter space, Waterout of faucet sprayed everywhere. No refrigerator, No clock, no map ofDurango, Hot tub closed too early. My wife didn't like anythingabout it. She says it was very run down.

Review 33:The desk clerk did not want to honor the room we reserved through booking.com. We reserved a king room and instead received a dbl queen.

Review 34:good location, we were able to park our motorcycle outside our room window

Review 35:I had bedbugs bite my arms and legs. I reported to front desk but nothing was done about it only 15.00 off my stay. I request for a full refund nothing was honored

Review 36:There was a dog barking in the middle of the night behind the complex. All of us heard it and some of us had trouble sleeping.

Review 37:It was convenient, well located for our purposes.

Review 38:Our room had food splatters on the walls, the toilet won't jflush the toilet paper down. I did advise the office numerous times. They did send maintence over to TRY and fix the problem.. Later that evening we experience the same problem again.. The maintence worker left a plunger in our bathroom to plunge out what ever was clogging it?? I don't know how to utilize a plunger.. Yes, its a woman's thing?? We could Not ne move due to the Hotel being sold out.. That was a bummer.. My ratings could have been a lot better.. I won't be staying here again..

Review 39:The place was okay?? However the parking could use some exception after hours..

Review 40:The "indoor hot tub" was never available for use, even thoughI was rudely told it was available from 4pm-9pm. When I looked at it at5pm, I could tell that room hadn't been opened in months. The couplenext to me were screaming and fighting and the owner had to call thepolice. There was fighting in front of our door very late into thenight. The owner actually entered our room late at night while we werein it in bed, and only gave us one meek "oh, sorry."Facilities were filthy, yet the maids left an envelope actually askingfor tips! Dust everywhere. Tv kept turning black and white and we wouldhave to hit it to get it back to color. I was appalled at the amount Ipaid per night for this quality and do not recommend it to anyone!

Review 41:Nothing.

Review 42:The floor creaked as you walk across it.Carpet was worn and thin in places. The mattress wasn' t as comfortable as I would like, but I have slept on worse!

Review 43:Older room, unit in fair condition, the bathroom was clean, bed made and clean linen.

Review 44:Although I had reservations the clerk made me waiting after other guests that didn't.

Review 45:I like how it has a relaxing creek on the north side of the complex. stay in one of those rooms. Larger restrooms

Review 46:Room was too dark, you could hear people upstairs like they were in the room. Not very clean. Didn't feel like a really safe area,I wouldn't stay here by myself, but with someone else with me felt safe.

Review 47:Stream and Riverwalk behind motel was nice. Needs updating.Pet friendly a plus. Staff were nice.

Review 48:The locations was great. We loved walking by the creek that ran behind the property. We enjoyed the personal service we received. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable. The ease of access to parking from our room was phenomenal.

Review 49:I compared a lot of hotel reviews and was a little afraid of this one because the radius weren't so great. But all I really wanted was a clean hotel with a clean bed and close to town. When I first drove up I wasn't impressed with the looks of the hotel but once inside my room everything was nice and clean the AC work fine and I was happy with my choice. Free Wi-Fi was a bonus I didn't expect. Overall I was very satisfied… This is a great hotel if you really just want to clean place to sleep close to downtown Durango.

Review 50:Filthy carpet, needed painting, faucets didn't work, deadbolt wouldn't work. Didn't want steps because of husbands bad knees but we're still given a lower level that had 5 steps.

Review 51:Location ok

Review 52:No kleenex or any extra like shampoo and lotion in room. No coffee makers and no breakfast. Hallway of hotel noisy and people slaming doors.

Review 53:Located on stream with grassy area near trail area. Pinic table and grill available.

Review 54:Even though the hotel is older, it was very clean and comfortable. It is located in an outstanding setting, with a creek running at the edge of the property and a lovely riverwalk immediately adjacent.

Review 55:The rooms are a bit old and if you happen to get room facing the main street you would have to hear the traffic but we only stayed the night so it was ok.

Review 56:checkin was fast and smooth. The hotel is at convenient location and there is a creek running behind it.

Review 57:Room wasn't the cleanest and was kn need of new or steam cleaned carpeting. No coffee in room, but that wan't too big of a deal.

Review 58:Location was convenient. Staff was friendly & helpful.

Review 59:The electrical outlets did not work. In the world of technology this is a huge problem. The toilet did not flush properly. This property needs serious update

Review 60:No breakfast, and the place a bit run down, our room was facing the parking on the first floor so we could not have the window open, which mean the room was dark because there wasn't much lighting.

Review 61:This was a decent room for the price, big, with working wifi, and distance to the city walkable in about 15 minutes.

Review 62:Maintenance issues (hot tub broken, pool murky, key-card lock completely missing from entry door to hotel. Some signs of efforts to maintain and room was clean, but overall received an impression of lack of adequate investment in premises.

Review 63:Room was clean and property is in great location.

Review 64:The rooms were very basic, no fridge and you had to pay for ice from the ice machine.

Review 65:The rooms were clean and the location is great. Staff was nice. It was located close to a walking trail that went downtown and along the railroad track.

Review 66:the carpet was sticky. It must be cleaned. Swarms of wasp all over the property. There is a lovely area near the creek but piles of building supplies ruins the view

Review 67:location

Review 68:Fridge in room was warm and had to pay for ice from the hotel machine. That was a first.

Review 69:Price and availability. The person at the desk was all about catering to the customer. Found something in the room and told him about it, he went and investigated it instantly. Great job.

Review 70:Some of the staff were nice and some not as friendly...borderline grumpy. The plumbing needed improvement as my toilet barely flushed. The coffee should have been ready earlier in the morning. The office hours aren't great.

Review 71:The free WiFi was pretty good and I loved the creek in the back of the hotel. The room was basic, but clean. They were attentive to problems though, which I appreciated. Things were fixed as requested.

Review 72:How can a hotel NOT have coffee, either in the room or available in the lobby. Had to walk 2 blocks to get some. Coffee service was not covered in the Guest Directory. Talked to some other guests who felt the same way.

Review 73:it was filthy, people standing outside drinking, we were charged 10.00 extra per nite for each of our 2 small dogs. security was absent. everything was filthy. we made reservations for a for a total of 189.00 and was charged 254.00. there was nothing good about the whole experience. will never stay there again.

Review 74:I only reserved this place because it advertised that there was a hot tub. We were coming from a long hike and we looking forward to spending some time in a hot tub. When we got there the manager informed us that the hot tub stopped working that morning. He wasn't apologetic about it at all. He told me I could fill the tub in the bathroom, instead. I woke up at 2:30 in the morning by noise from the upper floor. I heard many steps up and down the stairs and doors opening and closing and this kept going for another hour. The quality of the picture on the TV was so bad it was impossible to watch TV.

Review 75:I was happy to leave.

Review 76:The walls were thin and you could hear the neighbors. The hallway stinks, and it needs new carpet. It did not have a coffee pot or a hair dryer. The ice machine costs money.

Review 77:The rooms were very nice. They were clean with comfortable beds and very large. I enjoyed my room, I just did not like the surrounding facility.

Review 78:Police arrested a guy for beating up a gal in one of the rooms. Even the morning clerk said it can be like downtown on some weekends. The clerk just looked like he'd woke up from a drunk the night before. The bathroom door latch was broken so the door wouldn't stay shut. Several poor patch jobs on the walls of the room and bathroom though it was clean. In the morning someone started a car with a hole in the muffler right in front of our room and he was trying to get it running properly before he left. Real noisy and the guy looked like a bum off the street. If you're looking for inexpensive lodgings, definitely look SOMEWHERE ELSE, this is NOT the place unless you like dealing with lowlife types!!

Review 79:Simply put, Durango is expensive and I did not want to pay a high price for a late arrival and early am departure. I understand budget hotels, but simple updates like sheets and towels that aren't discolored are not too much to ask. Was glad to check out.

Review 80:Never was able to get a wi-fi connection on my laptop, but not a big concern.

Review 81:Low cost. Clean room Provided the first floor room requested. Stayed 2 nights at start and end of the trip.

Review 82:No amenities or even ice without costing you a quarter. Cheap doors and poor locks left me not wanting to leave anything valuable in room.

Review 83:Liked the location and ease to get in and out. Only recommend if you need to crash and get out early the next day.

Review 84:Toilet didn't flush, bathtub didn't drain, no mini fridge or microwave in room. Smoking spot outside but cigarette disposal was filled to the top and not emptied once in the week we stayed.

Review 85:Bed was comfortable

Review 86:Office didn't open until 8am, and no coffee was available onsite. Had to go a block away, and pay $2 for a cup, after waiting an hour for the office to open.

Review 87:Liked that one whole building was non-smoking.

Review 88:The room smelled awful when I got there. I could hear all the people in the surrounding rooms. Stained carpet- one of the stains looked like a puddle of dried blood. Didn't even want to walk on the carpet. Didn't get any sleep in spite of the fact I arrived after midnight because my flight was late. The hotel was too creepy and too noisy.

Review 89:The man at the front desk the next morning was very nice when I told him the reasons why I just couldn't stay at the motel past that first night. He offered me another room for the same price but I just couldn't stomach being there anymore. He let me just pay for the one night I was there and I checked out with no hassles. (As a side note-no one is working the lobby at night-they leave your keys in an unlocked box with your name on them which is a very strange practice!)

Review 90:--I wasn't happy with using booking.com for booking --25¢ to use the ice machine --pay to use phone (I didn't use it) --manager had to open access to hot tub for us --couldn't get wifi to work with my iPad

Review 91:Location not far from downtown with easy access. Pleasant location next to stream with easy walk to river walk. Good parking.

Review 92:Once we worked out how to get into town (a map helps!) it is convenient and Flagstaff is a super little town - very friendly and lots of micro breweries. Beds were around the most comfortable all trip.

Review 93:They charged an extra $10/night for having a pet. This was not advertised and I didn't like the surprise extra fees when I checked in.

Review 94:Loved the king size bed, it was comfortable and the sheets were surprisingly nice for a motel. Clean bathroom. Location was ideal for having a dog with a park and bike path immediately next door/behind the hotel. Surprised to find fridge & microwave, and shampoo/soap were refreshed daily even though other reviews said they didn't have these. No coffee in the room though. Never used the wifi so can't say if that works well.

Review 95:The housekeeper kept waking us up at 7:45 and then again at 8:30. She just kept opening the door, but we didn't have to check out until 11. The room was gross and everything was stained. The carpet had a big red stain about the size of a plate in the middle. Then brown dirt stains all around the bottom of the walls. I didn't know where to put my bags cause it was all gross. The bed had a giant brown stain on it about 8 inches long which we didn't find until after...gross. The towels were like cheap scratch paper. The shower didn't drain and didn't get hot. So lukewarm standing shower water. Also gross! I really wanted to like this hotel cause I liked the guy at the front but it was just a really bad experience.

Review 96:The guy at the front desk was wonderful. The bathroom was updated but still had issues.

Review 97:the room smelled the rug felt wet the bed was not comfortable the blankets were not warm, i had my own blankets thank god got cold so i brought my own . staff was great, maybe they just need to upgrade?

Review 98:location in town the location of the room near handicap parking was nice

Review 99:The pool was under construction. The walls are thin, so bring earplugs.

Review 100:The motel was walking distance to downtown Durango. Our room over looked an area with a walking path and many trees. It was clean and I felt comfortable taking my shoes off. The mattresses weren't the most firm, but they we're comfortable.

Review 101:Dated, very basic facilities. No soap, Kleenex in the bathroom. They actually had a coin slot on the ice machine. Old, tired mattresses. Worst part of this is it came at a premium price. Definitely not worth the money.

Review 102:Allowed pets in some rooms.

Review 103:No coffee in room, however they did serve a small breakfast. Please just needed updating !

Review 104:Price was good but you got what you paid for. Beds were comfortable and it was not far from the historic district.

Review 105:Mold infested bathroom, 5 asthma attacks, concierge was non challant didn't care. Bed was harder than camping on the ground! Way overpriced, terrible stay, would never stay at again.

Review 106:Stream nearby

Review 107:towels weren't big enough, air conditioner had a slight burning smell, pool was too exposed to the road

Review 108:staff was extremely curtious, hot tub was great, location was perfect for exploring Durango and we really liked the creek out back. Wifi worked perfectly.

Review 109:No Iron, Blow dryer, shampoo. Towels very rough.

Review 110:Good customer service, especially 2 young lady when we checked in. Clean surroundings. Behind the Hotel is a river, great for a stroll. Had a mini frig and microwave. Good price. TV needed re programmed, gentleman stop what he was doing and fixed the problem. Good size room.

Review 111:The parking in back wasn't well lit. No extra pillows or blankets were available in the room.

Review 112:We needed last minute lodging and were able to get a discounted rate wit just 4 rooms available at a promotional price the day of room needed. Turned out to be a king size bed in a handicap room. Spacious. Noticed a small pool by the office, and although I didn't use it, it appeared clean and maintained.

Review 113:No amenities (shampoo, lotion, etc.), no hairdryer (if you asked the clerk they would give you one to use), had to pay for ice, cracked tiles on bathroom floor, towels were very thin and small, and no coffee (in office) until 7:30!

Review 114:Did have a refrigerator and microwave. Trolley stop was close to go downtown.

Review 115:Needed a blow dryer every hotel, motel has a dryer the only time I gave never packed on and you didn't have one.. No access to coffee or tea in rooms

Review 116:It was clean rooms big comfortable. Bed

Review 117:Noisy aircon. 'Sticky' carpet - like something had been spilled on it. Door did not latch closed unless pulled firmly.

Review 118:Reasonable accom for a modest price.

Review 119:The rear exterior door lock had been ripped off and not replaced. The exterior doorvon the front was not locked so anyone from the street could come in. The hot tub was dirty so wouldn't use it even though we wanted to. No coffee pots or hair dryers. No toiletries in lavatory.

Review 120:Price was great. Our room was at the back away from the street so less noise. The size of room was ample and we had a refrigerator and microwave. Very good daily maid service with clean towels and soaps.

Review 121:Location and staff were great. It was the best price in town and when I drove past some of the other places that were more expensive I was very happy I chose Days End.

Review 122:Got WiFi the first day, but nothing the next morning (although the staff tried to help, they were unable to find the problem).

Review 123:Motel was near the Trolley stop!

Review 124:Not the hotel you would expect to have shampoo in the bathrooms.

Review 125:Close to town and restaurants. Not loud at night. Pool looked nice but didn't have time to go in.Lots of brochures and maps of the area.

Review 126:Ice bucket was dirty with someones spilled soda. No fridge or microwave and you have to pay for ice. The thinnest walls I have ever experienced. I could hear my neighbor using the toilet! This was about the level of Motel 6, maybe even lesser quality. I felt that I overpaid for what I got.

Review 127:Decent location only 1 mile from downtown. Bed was comfortable

Review 128:Rear parking spots drop right into a stream and there are no concrete parking stops to prevent you from going in if you aren't careful.

Review 129:Close to fast food places and train station.

Review 130:It was a bit older, but that wasn't a huge issue for me. The room was obviously going to be cheaper because it cost less. Paying for ice? wierd.

Review 131:The motel was affordable. Tom at the desk was really nice and did anything he could to make my stay more comfortable. The motel was close to downtown. Parking was available, close to room My room was clean, air worked well. Local calls free from room. Wireless worked, free.

Review 132:1. Room had wet towels in the fridge that was turned off. 2. Carpet was soiled and sticky making it impossible to walk bare foot. 3. 11 o'clock check out. Returning from breakfast at 10:00 found room had been cleaned: Cleaned of beverages, snacks and personal items. 4. First person to sign in for the day and was put in the far back away from pool and complimentary coffee.

Review 133:The babbling brook behind the motel.

Review 134:No amenities at all....no toiletries, no hair, dryer, iron, etc.... Bed sheets looked clean however the pillows smelled like someone had already slept on them. All but on light bulb in the entire room was burned out.
