Reviews for Hotel Victoria
Review 1:The location is fantastic and the evening meal very good. Although no breakfast is available in the hotel it is provided in an hotel nearby. The brunch on Sunday was out of this world! It's also very quiet.
Review 2:The hotel is in an area with huge, uneven cobbles which are simplydangerous for a group of motorcyclists like us to negotiate withoutfalling off, luckily for us it was dry weather. The lady in receptionstopped dealing with me to take two phone calls and speak to anotherguest. It was very hot weather, 37c, and we just wanted to get to ourrooms for a shower but before she would give us the keys she kept tryingto get us to book in for dinner, (an attitude which ensured wedidn't). A few of our group were in the new rooms as shown on theirweb site but others had to negotiate a rickety and narrow, wooden windystaircase to the third floor, no lift! We were told we had to park at anassociated hotel 250m away which was down a really steep and potholedramp. This hotel is also where breakfast would be served as they do nothave a breakfast room! We later found we could have parked much nearerat one of the many motorcycle places in the town centre. Later weordered beers (before having dinner elsewhere) but the young staff keptignoring us or failed to deliver.
Review 3:Hardly anything - the modern rooms were quite fancy and ours had a largeshower but needed aircon to be really modern and comfortable. Theexcellent designated motorcycle places in the town centre have asecurity bar. They did eventually allow us to park two motorcyclesoutside the hotel.
Review 4:The new rooms where pretty stylish but you Could already see that maintenance was not up to standards and They were wearing down. Moreover When we were shown our room upon arrival the guy noticed the automatic shutter of our roof window did not function. He promised hè would check with one of his colleagues yet When we returned in the evening nothing had changed. When we notified the staff in charge she came Back telling is that the system had broken down and they Could only call for someone the next day. We had to insist quite strongly that Some sort of solution was sought (possibly another room) before They gave in and went up the roof to manually close the window. In the morning my boyfriend used the jacuzzi in our bathroom: unsurprisingly the noice was deafening. When hè turned it off it Kept on restarting Every 8mins or so at least for over half An hour, even When there was No more water. Sinds we were leaving that was not really a problem but when I told the staff so They would know to fix it, they sort of acccusingly said that that was normal and that it was the system cleaning itself. I can only imagine how much fun this would have meant had we used it in the evening...
Review 5:location is great and the new room we stayed in (junior suite) looks really Nice and is very spacious.
Review 6:Minor inconvenience of the Double bed being 2 singles pushed together, so a gap between. Shower didn't drain very well Odd clear glass door to bathroom not to all tastes, but as a solo traveller didn't detract
Review 7:Room location - modern and clean. Great restaurant and atmosphere. Close to other amenities in the heart of the town.
Review 8:1 Day staff knowledge of English poor, to be expected expected in Wallonia 2. Poor quality of the bathroom. 3. Ordered rooms did not meet the standard acc. to web site. 4. The acoustic insulation between rooms are very poor. 4. Very small staircase to the second level . 5. The emergency exit from the second floor (where are 4 rooms) is very poor, because leads through a hotel room another client
Review 9:no elevator.
Review 10:a full of character place with great a staff and luxurious rooms.
Review 11:Mold on the window in the bathroom
Review 12:old part of the building isn't up to date anymore... new part of the building more actual and modern.
Review 13:location, diner and brekfeast
Review 14:the room was cramped with no modern appointments, no lobby
Review 15:incredible views and location, access to the more luxurious sister hotel across the street
Review 16:Parking is an issue but didn't impact our stay.
Review 17:Staff young and friendly. Breakfast at the Sanglier des ardennes is a must. Gastronomic diner at Victoria was amazing, quality, service and always a smily staff... thaks for this moment.
Review 18:Breakfast has to be taken at a nearby sister hotel. No hotel staff available until 10.00am. Not suitable for people who have difficulty with stairs.
Review 19:Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Restaurant very good. Secure parking at nearby sister hotel. Durbuy is a very pretty town set in a beautiful area
Review 20:No parking Meals expensive and not really worth the cost. No one to take the key, still have not had a break down of the bill but money taken from account
Review 21:Clean hotel, lovely small town, Very pretty, Lovely restaurants in the town
Review 22:Having to wait until 10.30am to be able to check out. No information in our rooms about the hotel or the area. No tea or coffee facilities in our room.
Review 23:The character of the hotel and its location.
Review 24:Plumbing was noisy buy i guess that is an old building for you. we stayed in one of the older not refurbished rooms but it was more than adequate.
Review 25:Staff are excellent and the hotel is full of character with a superb restaurant
Review 26:Not very friendly staff, lack of proper reception (i.e. couldn't properly check out), clear glass door next to the toilet in the en suite
Review 27:Comfy bed, good size room, location, restaurant
Review 28:1) Breakfast - while fantastic quality - is a slight hassle to get to as it requires one going to another hotel (5-7 minutes walk)2) Price changes at hotel from what was on Booking.com for breakfast (12 versus 10) and additional child costs (who should have been free as she was under 3) were a unwelcome surprise. Not worth fighting over. 3) Day staff knowledge of English poor, to be expected expected in Wallonia
Review 29:Stayed in the suite, lovely hotel. Nice evening reception staff, lessfriendly day staff.
Review 30:The shower (although spacious) was in the bedroom seperated by a whicker screen and the toilet door was clear glass. However, as it had just been finished that week, we were not sure if they intended on putting a screen in) We knew before we booked that breakfast was served at their sister Hotel, which was not a problem for us - but could be for guest with walking disabilities as the sister Hotel was the other side of the village up a small hill, about a 5 minute walk. There was no parking at the Hotel, but we did manage to find some about 50 metres away for 5 euros a day.
Review 31:The room we stayed in had just been finished, it was modern and quirky being in a loft type space. The room was airy and light and very clean. The meal at the restuarant was excellent and the service was very good and the good news was we were just upstairs to our room!
Review 32:-Tv, internet, telephone did not work in the room -reception is locatedin the restaurant, so hard to reach the service -facility rather oldsuch as shower room needs to be renovated
Review 33:-Location -restaurant
Review 34:Very helpful and friendly staff made this a special stay. An historic building that is being updated and is still work in progress, but that didn't detract from an enjoyable stay. Superb restuarant. Having to take breakfast at the nearby Sangliers des Ardennes is a bit of a nuisance (particularly with the Old Bridge closed for repairs), but the breakfast is more than worth the short walk. Located in a beautiful old town set in lovely countryside.
Review 35:The staff and resturant were very great, all staff were very helpful and fast and taking care of the guests. Food was very good and a great veriaty with very nice selection of wines.
Review 36:Service was poor. There was no indication of where the front desk wasand the staff did not address us when we entered the hotel. They werejust standing there.
Review 37:I liked the room.
Review 38:We stayed 2 times in room 11 and we live it very much, especcially the shower. The sundaybrunch in Sanglier des Ardennes we liked very much
Review 39:clean and well appointed in a great central location
