Reviews for Clover Island Inn

Review 1:It's a little bit of an older hotel but so what. It's clean

Review 2:Friendliness of cook at breakfast. Nice place on the 4th floor. Food was good but mostly I liked her friendly manner.

Review 3:I could only ask for fried or scrambled eggs instead of boiled, i feel sense it was Christmas I can understand the breakfast on the 25 but on the 26 I feel they could have made eggs differently, The pillows were hard, gave me a very bad headache, We'll bring our own pillows next time.

Review 4:I loved the staff on all levels, made Myself and husband feel like we were at home and the restaurants breakfast for guess was balanced and warm, the strawberries were an exultant addition for the waffle's. I think it is a wonderful Idea to have the restaurant on the top floor, the view was awesome. The selection of T.V. channels you offer is wonderful and I feel it offers everyone a choice. I have to complement You on the special rate offered during this year's Holiday season! My Husband and I will book a room with You when ever We come to tri cites in the future. I understand that the summer time is one of Your busiest times and it might be we might not be able to retain a room, but we will try.

Review 5:We were there for a Christmas party with the Columbia River Cowboy Gathering group. So it was better to stay than try to drive home. Very good accomadations

Review 6:Outdated furniture and decor. No extra blankets in the room.

Review 7:I liked the location. I also liked the breakfast. It was a step above the usual continental breakfast. It was nice getting our eggs cooked to order! Friendly staff.

Review 8:All the staff were Great and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping spot on. Crows nest was friendly with good food. Breakfast could use some more options during the week with the hot food. But what they had was good and the staff real freindly. Front desk was very helpful and made me feel right at home.

Review 9:Floor carpet very dirty. Bathroom not clean. Smallest tv I have seen in a hotel room. Overall set up of breakfast lay out could be changed to run smoother.

Review 10:Front desk staff was friendly. Beds and pillows comfortable.

Review 11:Old and small room, squeaky bathroom door. Upgraded to river view room but was on the bottom floor and not much of a view. Thin walls, noisy in the morning when many guests left.

Review 12:Seeing the bridge at night. Crows nest was nice with good food. Easy parking. Breakfast was pretty good.

Review 13:Could clean the outside of windows - take down cob webs so guests could see the view better thats why we booked the room on the water side.

Review 14:Loved our room/view. Staff was friendly.

Review 15:The toilet would not stop running. I asked several time for it to be fixed and when I left it was still running. It was so bad that I spent most of my time there out by the pool.I will be back but hope the issue is resolved.

Review 16:I loved the hotel, the location and the staff.

Review 17:The water front view, contenintal breakfast and friendly staff. Also the free bikes to take a ride along the Columbia River coast line. The room was always mad up and clean daily.

Review 18:No bad experiences. We would stay here again.

Review 19:Location on the island in the Columbia River. Breakfast was good. The room was comfortable and fairly quiet.

Review 20:Stayed here 3 times and would stay again. Nice location with pretty views of the river. Great breakfast with nice selection of hot items. If youlike to run, there is a great paved trail nearby that goes for many scenic miles along the river (the nice girl at front desk suggested it). We also used the complimentary bikes to take a nice ride along the trail on one of our stays here. This was a great value for the area and just 15 minutes from the airport ( with a free shuttle too!)

Review 21:I don't like that when I walk by in the morning the staff won't even say good morning or smile... just sitting there and doing their job is good but I paid 100 bucks a night and I expect a smile and hello when guests walk by. I used to work in embassy suites as front desk and if you want to be the best a little advice for you guys smile and say hello to every guest and act like you are happy the guests chose your hotel...everything else is fixable but when you don't have exceptional customer service than nothing else matters

Review 22:I love the location and facilities

Review 23:We had a 19" flat screen TV. Hotel is older and could use some updating. We had a river view room and the window needed to be washed.

Review 24:Great staff. Friendly and helpful. Nice location right on the Columbia River. Bed was very comfortable.

Review 25:We loved the closeness of the bike trail and seeing the water from our window. Our room showed a few signs of age, but so do we! Great hot breakfast, friendly staff and wonderful location. Good off-season price.

Review 26:The television picture did not fill the screen. Maybe a 16in image on a 32in panel. Staff should to correct this.

Review 27:Very nice river setting and boardwalk.

Review 28:Public areas in need of a coat of paint - corridors and side entries in particular

Review 29:Great location - good food - easy to find ( with my Google map print out! )

Review 30:The price is high enough (100 usd with the taxes), but honestly speaking, is reasonable.

Review 31:It is the island on the Columbia River! Quite romantic place, despite some industrial surrounding zone. This hotel is large enough with compact but convenient rooms and very good (I mean excellent by Washington state standards) breakfast on the top floor. We arrive very late but it was Okay for staff, too.

Review 32:Our room smelled like cigarettes & we were given a room that already had someone in it. It was the middle of the night and we were super weary. There were no other rooms available so we touched it out.

Review 33:The view and staff were the best part of our stay.

Review 34:The hot tub jets didn't work. Internet took a long time to connect.

Review 35:All around a decent place. Would have liked to use the bikes, didn't have time though. Always had towels stocked pool side.

Review 36:TV lines made it hard to watch. That tub would not drain when taking shower which caused us to slip. Sunday night concert in parking lot cause bad parking loud music and rooms could not sleep.

Review 37:The view of the river and location

Review 38:For breakfast, the restaurant closes at 9am...very strange...every hotel restaurant I've ever eaten at usually closes at 10/11am..the server in the crow's nest couldn't handle more than three tables...

Review 39:Smells musty and dirty from the minute you walk through the front door. But typical of Days Inns across the country. Don't know why??? Doors look beleaguered, windows are dirty and cobwebs are everywhere outside.

Review 40:Location, views on river side, and friendly service

Review 41:Big black widdow spider outside the elevator window. Also....parking on Wednesday is bad. They have a free concert and we had to park at the restaurant next door because everyone took the hotel parking

Review 42:They gave us an upgrade to two queen beds and a view for free

Review 43:Room very small. Poor wi fi, uninteresting menu, went to brew pub to eat. Nothing special with the staff. Some access and parking challenges due to landscaping work.

Review 44:Nice location. Lots of potential

Review 45:The bed we slept in was like sleeping on a waterbed without the water.

Review 46:Everyone we came in contact with was extremely friendly and accommodating. We unfortunately were having problems with our vehicle and the hotel was flexible when it came to our departure and very helpful when it came to finding a Repair Facility. The staff goes out of their way to ensure your stay with them is exceptional.

Review 47:The beds could have been more comfortable.

Review 48:They offered a lot with having an onsite restaurant and other restaurants within walking distance. I also liked that they were pet friendly.

Review 49:Two things: 1) The room (154) smelled like it had been smoked in. Werealized the hotel is an older one and claimed that the room was 'non-smoking', but that smell was recognizable. 2) The walls are superthin. We could hear pretty much everything in the rooms around us.

Review 50:Awesome location. Awesome price. Fun having the bikes available. Freeand strong Wifi. Nice breakfast. Despite the 'didn't like'comments we left, we would stay again for sure.

Review 51:This hotel was a little older, and it seemed a little tired in places. The location was a little ways away from the rest of the city, so we had to drive to restaurants.

Review 52:The view of the river was amazing and made it totally worth being a little further from other businesses. The breakfast was good, and the room was very clean and comfortable, in spite of being a bit older. The older appliances have been well cared for.

Review 53:Ate dinner in the restaurant. Quality of food poor, and overpriced. Goodwait staff however

Review 54:Location. Enjoyed pool on the river. Staff did good job trying to bringchairs out for seating since pool area was so overcrowded

Review 55:The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We love the variety at the free breakfast buffet. The rooms on the river side have a nice view. There is a nice paved path for biking or walking where you can see wildlife on the river and excellent views of the sunset.

Review 56:Nothing!

Review 57:Everything! Loved being greeted by the desk clerk as a known friend justafter the second visit in 9 mo. Love the warm cookies and coffee in theafternoon! Love the view of the river and hottub and pool outside inview of the river! Loved the large roomy room and comfy beds!

Review 58:The place is pretty wore out...carpet in hallways are stained and worn. The breakfast could of used more hot food and meat items.

Review 59:The view was really nice from our room. The area where the hotel is located is nice.

Review 60:nothing

Review 61:Love the staff, love the breakfast where they cook you fresh eggs and the staff at breakfast was fabulous. Great view from the room, bed was very comfy and clean. overall most excellent!!!!!!

Review 62:airconditioning had a slow cycle which meant room was too cool then too warm all night.

Review 63:Breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. Swimming pool was great.

Review 64:Great location next to Jaker's restaurant where we have dined twice. Convenient to highway 93 to I 84. The building is old but refurbished. Would stay here again.

Review 65:This hotel is very dated it desperately needs remodeling. The front desk staff seemed not too interested while helping me check in and then later check out.

Review 66:Great location!

Review 67:I ordered from the restaurant and picked up my food tontake back to my room, no ketchup or utensils and really didnt want to go back to get them.

Review 68:Clean quiet, had a river view.

Review 69:room and tourism tax - should let customers know when they check in

Review 70:Loves the free use of bikes Bathroom very clean brkfast - someone making eggs - wow! all staff very nice love the trails nearby great rsrnts around us exercise room was ok crows nest on 4th floor very handy outdoor pool

Review 71:Crows Nest is not a fine dinning restaurant. I had the worst New York steak I have ever had. The only thing good I could say is that the view is very nice. Food and menu is just like any bar menu, not fine dinning.

Review 72:View and friendliness of staff

Review 73:The location was awesome. Pool could use a clean and the one girl who checked us in could've been more personable/ friendly. It was a good hotel for one nights stay.

Review 74:location is amazing but hotel could use some updating.

Review 75:we really just rented room to use the pool. Great to be able to rest if need be and get a cocktail and lunch.

Review 76:Very small rooms. My non-smoking room and hallways smelled like cigarettes. Limited parking--although there was extra parking across the street.

Review 77:Fabulous continental breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds.

Review 78:The restaurant was understaffed earlier in the day and only had one employee waiting on several tables.

Review 79:The staff was amazing, and very willing to help us out with any situation. They also got out rooms next to each other, and had them ready earlier for us.

Review 80:People were using the pool that came from the bar and did not have a room.

Review 81:The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Shelly was a very hard worker and even offered to watch someone's dog while they fixed their plate.

Review 82:The bed was old and pretty uncomfortable, but I was only there for a night.

Review 83:The friendly staff were great, as was the outdoor pool with plenty of lounge chairs.

Review 84:The bed was very firm and we both woke up early hurting. The sound from the pool area was pretty loud at night even though we were on the fourth floor. The windows may need soundproofing/updating along with the popcorn ceilings etc.

Review 85:We enjoyed the bike trails and the views along the river very much. Watching boats coming and going along with wildlife was excellent.

Review 86:Appeared to be a number of sports teams here resulting in a fair amount of noise and rendering the pool area pretty much unusable for adults. Would like to stay here on a weekday off season because I think the place has possibilities.

Review 87:Perfect place to take long walks along the river. And the breakfast is a notch or 3 above most free breakfasts.

Review 88:nothing bad, just that the air conditioner struggled to keep up with the 103 degree temperature. they could have use a plummer to reset bathroom sink drain plug. b ut other that that pretty great.

Review 89:the pool, the bikes and the sunsets from the patio and of course the location

Review 90:The bed wasn't my bed. Husband loved the bed but I like mine softer. LOL

Review 91:Beautiful view. Watching boats go up and down the river was very relaxing for me and my husband. We both enjoyed the maritime décor and atmosphere. We arrived early and the staff allowed us to do early check in. That was perfect considering we had been on the road since 7 a.m. Loved that.

Review 92:When we checked in, the staff said that our reservation had been entered as June 2, not June 12. This caused some confusion and it seems we got the last available room for the evening. Our room was right next to the pool, so other loud guests kept us up until nearly midnight.

Review 93:The staff were quite friendly and provided an easy check in/check out experience. Further, the bed was quite comfortable and the room clean.

Review 94:watching the river, visiting with other guests, and the friendliness of the staff. The dog loved the elevator and the attention he received (he is a 15 yr old border collie).

Review 95:Wi-Fi dropped in and out during our 2 day stay. This is not always the fault of the Wi-Fi provider (Hotel) as this happens quite frequently at other hotels we have stayed at. We both have low cost tablets and that might be part of the problem.

Review 96:Excellent customer service and clean facilities. Clover Island Inn came with high ratings and everything was above our expectations. I'm surprised at the great value for the money. We loved this place!

Review 97:Breakfast was included but felt like a crowded cafeteria. Value was OK, but nothing about the place was special. Motel 6 is better for less money but again the view was nice

Review 98:Clean, nice location

Review 99:Dated interior, little dirty just because after 20 years things wear out. They try to keep it clean. Just really needs ne w carptet and paint, ect.

Review 100:The location was great for us nic eand quiet. Like the Sandbar, the outside bar/cafe buy the river.

Review 101:Lobby vending machines looked like Vegas Rooms not on riverside were dated looking Early AM deliveries & trains through the night Jacuzzi did not open early, so unable to use

Review 102:Pleasant staff Good breakfast Free WiFi

Review 103:Paper thin walls can hear people "doing it" when a door shuts our door would open the room would shake when someone closed a door in the hall very loud parties fridge was off shower barely had pressure

Review 104:view

Review 105:The room was in a noisy location to an exit door. The room has seen better days ,window coverings need to have privacy and light.Just Ned's slot of updating.

Review 106:The beds were good, the breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the bed linens were more than average.

Review 107:The hotel is a little dated and still has residual cigarette smoke smell from years gone by. But, it's not bad enough to sway me from staying there again in the future.

Review 108:The hotel was great for the value. The staff was very friendly and inviting, especially the wonderful gals that ran the Continental breakfast. Our family appreciated the continental breakfast. Let's face it, central WA isn't the most scenic place, but staying at the Inn made it seem like it was! Nice view.

Review 109:My husband is an old Coastie, so he was very happy when he saw the Coast Guard Station steps away from the hotel. We spend the evening walking up & down the island with our dog and taking pictures. It was a beautiful place to spend the evening on our way home from our road trip to Colorado. We will be back to explore more of Kennewick.

Review 110:The bed might have been a post-tension concrete slab or mid-evil torture device used to get confessions from witches. At the end of the night I confessed just to get it over with...

Review 111:Great location within walking distance to great eats and the riverside trail. You also have very easy access to all of the Tri-Cities.

Review 112:The shower head and that I didn't have more time to spend there.

Review 113:Location location location The food was deeelish and the hot tub and pool excellent.

Review 114:Reception less than previous stays. Not bad, just not as welcoming as in the past. Maintenance in rooms lacking, but needed. Also some new mattresses are in order.

Review 115:Convenience to freeway, golf, shopping and old town. Always a nice breakfast.

Review 116:Not an "easy" location. Not close to anything and difficult to find. Neighborhood to drive through to get there was in an older, somewhat "industrial" area near a lot of old used car lots, etc... Hotel room could use some up-dating and didn't love the feel of the mattress, but that is my personal preference, not a fault of the hotel. It was in good condition and all linens were in excellent condition.

Review 117:Lovely atmosphere right on the water. Room was very clean and fresh. Nice little "add-ons" and very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 118:Room was really small, they were awfully stingy with the towels. TV was tiny and the fridge was not very cold, furnishings needed updating. It was also noisy. Big gaps in the door let ask of the hallway noise in. Dinner at The Crow's Nest was disappointing and the menu in the room did not reflect the menu at the restaurant.

Review 119:Awesome with the pets, great view.

Review 120:The other people in the hotel were noisy. Not the hotels fault.

Review 121:The staff by far was the most enjoyable. But the location was wonder with the Hotel being right in the middle of the river. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Review 122:Very disappointed. The room was tiny, unclean and dated - popcorn ceilings, paint splatters, a filthy coffee pot, and the tub wouldn't drain while taking a shower. The photo of the room on booking.com and the Clover Island Inn website is misleading & much nicer than the room you will actually get. There are only 4 rooms like that in entire hotel.

Review 123:We reserved a single queen size room from the beginning. The room was to small and the furniture was not suitable for the value. I asked for a larger room which I was accommodated with two queen beds and the room was a little larger. This Hotel is in dire need of upgrades for the cost they charge. We attended a nearby function which was walking distance, that is the only reason we stayed here, otherwise I would have chose someplace much nicer.

Review 124:The staff is nice and were willing to accommodate us.

Review 125:the outdated facility but the clean room made up for it. There was one loud employee at the breakfast that was anoying the first she keeped talking about her date for the night the next morning she keeped going on about how bad her date was it was just rude of her. I hope next time i go she is not there....

Review 126:The view is amazing and the location is perfect. The breakfast was good i liked it got to love it when you have unlimited bacon in the morning ☺ i will return to the clover island inn.

Review 127:Loud music, DRUNK rude people that like to cause problems .

Review 128:When it was to loud on new years they moved us to the otherside of the hotel . Staff is great.

Review 129:We love the free breakfast and that's part of the reason we stay here but this time the breakfast was very disappointing on Christmas morning with the restaurant closed. The next day it was back to normal though and the girl working in the breakfast area was super friendly. I didn't catch her name but she had recently moved from Georgia!

Review 130:We always stay here when we come to town. Always hassle free and comfortable! Beautiful area and views!

Review 131:I enjoyed seeing the Columbia River from our room and the new waterfront park under construction out the windows of the Crows Nest, where a complimentary breakfast awaited. Friendly and welcoming staff!

Review 132:Wifi kept disconnecting us and the staff didn't seem to care. The rooms need to be updated Refrigerator froze EVERYTHING

Review 133:Continental breakfast staff were very friendly! Enjoyed the surrounding area

Review 134:There was no mini-bar or, I don't think, a microwave or kitchenette but the pub and the restaurant are open late and this wasn't a problem. We had a double king room; it was great.

Review 135:This hotel is on an island on the Columbia River. It shares the island with a pub, nice restaurant and a lighthouse. The trails along the dike and the park in walking distance are fantastic and the hotel itself was a great value. I can't imagine a more pleasant stay in Tri-Cities. Forget the reliable Shilo or Red Lion and get a room in a first-class (for E Washington) hotel that can't be beat. I'll never stay anywhere else if I ever get stuck up there again. It made the whole family breathe a sigh of relief and we relaxed and had a great evening there.

Review 136:showing it's age, but just a little. Maybe could use a slight touch up, but then the price would probably go up. Not bad, just a touch below excellent.

Review 137:Location and setting Nice little brew house (sports bar) within a short walking distance Nice Breakfast
