Review 1：Fantastic location, with a nice view on the bay. Close to the penguin area, but you need a car to get there, and more in general to access any restaurant. Big flat, with 5 comfortable beds

Review 13：Good location for visiting Penguin park and the Cape of Good hope. The owner is nice and considerate. The house is huge and well-equipped and decorated.

Review 14：The only negative which is not the fault of this establishment is the road through Kalk Bay to Simonstown STILL under construction which makes driving (particularly in peak traffic) very frustrating.

Review 28：A lovely stay in a gorgeous guest house. The Royal Suite is really the best, the panoramic views and comfort are amazing. John, the host, also goes out of his way to ensure that you enjoy your stay. The shared kitchen is lovely and has all the facilities you need.

We will be going back for longer next time. there is WiFi but did not use it so could not review. parking to the front lounge and fully fitted kitchen with bbq on the balcony if you want to stay in and relax

Review 37：The marketing makes this place far more attractive than it really is. Expected a private bathroom which I got but it was across the passage!!! Expected clean bedding but got the previous customers dirty linen. Expected a clean room but got something less the satisfactory WiFi dropped every two minutes and mobile connection is very poor so was unable to work. I don't have anything positive to say.... Don't understand where the high ratings come from.

Review 39：Would prefer a queen size over the double bed in the main bedroom (We had the 1st floor apartment). Would have liked an oven in the kitchen, the microwave has a grill which is okay.Fans would be nice as it gets really hot.

We cooked breakfast there each morning and only wish we had more time to spend cooking there. Eating and drinking on the balcony is a joy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would certainly consider going back. Really appreciated the lift from the owner to the train station on our last morning

Review 52：Wonderful apartments (stayed in two of them). Had some good ladtminute smartdeals. Very luxurious, wonderful views, very close to boulders beach and other small secluded beaches. Good wifi, all tv channels, very friendly staff. We were allowed a late checkout, because of our nightflight at no extra charge. Best place we stayed in (and returned to) in South Africa.

Review 53：The location, albeit offered good view, was a bit hard to find. You basically cannot walk from downtown Simon's Town. To get to Penguinden, you would want to have a car. We were unable to find any restaurant within walking distance either.

Review 54：Penguinden was one of the best placed we stayed at in South Africa (even when compared with some five star hotels). We had the royal suite. It had both sea view and mountain view and that was breathtaking. The manager John was extremely friendly and very helpful. He helped us with planning our trip to the Cape of Good hope and pointed us to lots of local point of interest. Other than food, the kitchen had everything you need. Coffee maker, tea, complete set of cooking utensils. Also washer and dryer! Amazing place.

Review 55：The location and view are excellent. The only problem is to find the place. No name board or signs we drove around for more than an hour trying to find the place which looks like a home in a suburb. Must use garmin or gps to find the actual place.

Review 56：The main bedroom had a damp patch in the corner of the wall. This did NOT spoil our stay, it just looked like it needed a little TLC :)

Review 57：Perched high on a hill overlooking the ocean, viewed through a very large floor to ceiling window. Owner allowed us to leave later than normal due to the late return of a shark dive my son and I were doing. Would we stay again? Yes :)

The shared kitchen and living room were much larger than we expected and since we were there in the low season we had it to ourselves. Everything was very modern and high end. The neighborhood was lovely and quiet and it was a relatively short walk to Boulders Beach where the Penguins can be viewed. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The low season price was amazing and could have easily been twice as much. We had a great time here and would love to return sometime.
