Reviews for Hotel Nikko Saigon
Review 1:The pool area could be spiced up to feel more fun, lively and sociable I think.
Review 2:The food hall choices were fantastic! The staff were very attentive, the hotel was beautiful and we had an upgrade with the best views of Saigon from our huge bathroom!
Review 3:Bit further out from the main attractions in district 1, but was useful for going into district 5 (Chinatown). No real walking pathway to entrance of hotel.
Review 4:New and clean facilities. Professional staff. Well maintained rooms. Quiet.
Review 5:No bad experience but the hotel is on the edge of District 1 which means you need a taxi to get to the main areas and restaurants (about 15 minutes). The hotel does however offer a one way shutlle to the major sights and taxis are very cheap so should not put you off staying at the hotel.
Review 6:Excellent staff who were able to organize trips, restaurants, transport etc with a high degree of professionalism and reliabilty- you don't need to organise trips before coming to HMC as they can do it for you at local prices. Very nice rooms. Outside pool area on 5th floor good to relax in after a hectic day in the city. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had with a huge choice of western and asian options.
Review 7:Location is not perfect, and service in bar on 23-th floor is poor
Review 8:Classy hotel of the Japanese chain in Saigon. Our deluxe room was big, bed was comfortable. The people on the desk all are helpful and professional.
Review 9:The sofa in the executive suite was not comfortable at all. Also, I expected more out of an executive suite - at best I thought it was a normal suite.
Review 10:Great buffet, executive lounge was great with a nice view and an outdoor patio
Review 11:- pillows were big and awkward; wish I had brought my own - everything else was very nice
Review 12:- the bed linen was very uncomforable - reliable free wifi - convenient shuttle bus - good location in district one - great facilities within hotel; used gym pool and shuttle bus - taxi rank outside with only reliable vinasun taxis available at all hours -fantastic value for money
Review 13:There are no words to discribe how fantastic Hotel Nikko is. You are greated by an army of people who's job it is to make your life as comfortable as possible. Help anywhere you turn. Luxury is everywhere in this hotel. Highly recommend you get a room with access to the executive lounge as this adds a great deal to your experience.
Review 14:Location was the only negative thing. It was a little far from everything
Review 15:Staff were fantastic, facilities were wonderful and I highly recommend the massage!
Review 16:Couldn't fault this 5 star hotel! Excellent value for money and so many nice touches as soon as you exit your taxi to the room itself the staff can't do enough for you and there all too nice! Nice big swimming pool too and free sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and relaxation room a bonus!
Review 17:Everything was as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. I left my phone in the taxi from the airport and the staff were unbelievable. They went above and beyond to get it back from checking cctv to ringing the company up and organising all. Could not of been more thankful
Review 18:Can have more of Asian varieties for break fast . Swimming pool toenable children's less than 1.2m. outside hotel diffucult tocommunicate with many Vietnamese
Review 19:Architecturally superb construction. Nice rooms and facilities.Fantasticcity view from my room . Trust taxis.
Review 20:Nothing.
Review 21:Always friendly and helpful staff as we were first time visitors to Saigon. The room was very nice and well equiped. Lovely cakes and drinks in the lobby lounge.
Review 22:Too far from the centre and shuttle only one way felt very office comple like > Décor and style did not have any Asian influence
Review 23:Fantastic breakfast helpful staff
Review 24:even though this hotel is in district 1 it's a good 40 minutes walk from the restaurants and tourist sites so we ended up always taking a cab. the hotel does offer drop off a few times a day but no pick up.
Review 25:the rooms are big and the beds are some of the most comfortable I have tried. The bathrooms take the cake too. All the staff are very sweet EXCEPT the front desk who could generally be a bit more accomodating.
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:The only 5 star hotel to stay in when in Saigon. Everything is perfect, staff are wonderful and great value for money compared to other 5 star hotels. Wonderful design and great atmosphere.
Review 28:The staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed on the club floor which was excellent, a good selection for breakfast and nice afternoon tea. Wine, soft drinks, beer and canapés available in the evening. The hotel had a good size outside swimming pool. Although slightly out of the centre of town,it wasn't a problem as taxis were very easy to get and very cheap. A very comfortable stay with excellent staff.
Review 29:Great service and well looked after by friendly professional staff. Food choice was also excellent. Room very clean and had a magnificent view over Ho Chi Minh city.
Review 30:I was put off from going directly outside of the hotel by the concierge due to it being 'more for locals'. I'm guessing this was to protect guests but seemed very unnecessary
Review 31:A beautifully presented hotel, rooms, facilities are absolutely fantastic. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is superb. Great views of the city.
Review 32:Location outside the city center. Price on booking.com is without breakfast. You have to pay $ 25.00 extra
Review 33:Perfect hotel. 5 star price and service. All ok.
Review 34:I burned my bumm in your way to hot steam cabine(in sauna).
Review 35:Staff is always very friendly. Bed sleeps good. I like to stay in your garden before i work.
Review 36:Cleanliness of 2nd floor dining area. Was only one in the restaurant for lunch at noon. Food from breakfast on the floor under table. Same experience at dinner. Never vacuumed in between meals. Disgusting. Makes you wonder how the kitchen is treated.
Review 37:Excellent facility and staff
Review 38:Not a bad experience but noticed that the floor in second floor dining room was not cleaned regularly. There were food crumbs, pieces of food on the floor from breakfast at lunch and dinner time. This is very substandard for a five star hotel.
Review 39:Clean, excellent choice of food selection, ease of getting taxis, staff friendly
Review 40:Stayed here 3 nights. Excellent service from all staff who were very friendly. Our room was upgraded on arrival which was a magnificent room on the 18th floor. Huge room with private lounge and foyer, free standing bathtub and large separate shower. 2 toilets with heated seats and their unique inbuilt cleaning wand. Comfortable bed and pillows, quality furniture. The pool area is large, clean and a great area for relaxing with a cocktail. This hotel is modern, high quality and impressive. The buffet dinner is outstanding (with unlimited wine included in price) and the breakfast buffet is equally impressive. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable stay. Stayed September 2015
Review 41:I loved everything about Hotel Nikko. Their customer service is out of this world. They only had double beds left and when we got to the room the bellhop had pushed together the beds to create a king bed for my husband and I.
Review 42:1) We had the buffet seafood dinner at the hotel restaurant. The lady singer that evening was too loud. The acoustics for music is not good. 2) Could do better with the shower gel and shampoo - with much force exerted, they came out in "lumps" rather than a smooth flow. 3) The flashing lights from the smoke detector on the ceiling can be a little distracting for light sleepers.
Review 43:One of the concierges (a Japanese lady who spoke English well) was extremely helpful. Her recommendations for shopping and restaurants were excellent. We also love the fabulous spread of food at breakfast. Your vietnamese coffee is excellent.
Review 44:Our breakfast wasn't included and it was expensive to add so we just went to coffee bean next door.
Review 45:The staff wer friendly, helpful with excellent English.
Review 46:Got a good Japanese feel to the hotel. Super clean and efficient and the staff even handled money like the Japanese do (two hands). Rooms were spacious and well furnished.
Review 47:I feel terrible for saying it. The breakfast looks amazing many dishesall around the world. However the 2 mornings I went for breakfasteverything was cold. Cold sausages cold brick hash browns. Not cold.Freezing. Its as if they cook them and think it should be served cold.Cold beans, not even warm. Sorry nikko Saigon, awesome hotel, greatchoices but very cold food not good at 5 star place. Have to get taxi50,000 to backpacker area. Its cheap but people told me it was central.I booked air tickets and their agent wouldn't take card. Made me runthe bank in the rain rather than charging my card at hotel and payingtheir travel agent. These little things add up.
Review 48:The staff here are top notch. So many of them! More staff thanguests which makes you feel special. The bed is just amazing and allgreat toiletries and items that you forgot to pack is all therewaiting for you.
Review 49:It is a lovely experience ! We have got up graded that makes it even better !! We like the spa , swimming pool area gym . I would give a 9.5 . Nice surprise for HCM .
Review 50:Only thing I didn't like, and it was only a small issue, was the pillows were too soft and I found it hard to sleep. The room and it's layout were wonderful however.
Review 51:Staff here are very attentive and willing to help. Beautiful hotel with great amenities, great Japenese toilets, my partner loved them.
Review 52:Hotel Nikko is an absolutely gorgeous cool stylish hotel in Ho Chi Minh. It is a peaceful haven in a chaotic city. It has a big cool reception area and all of the staff are extremely helpful and professional. This hotel had the best service I experienced anywhere in Vietnam. The room service is great. Also the seafood buffet is really beautiful and includes lobster coked anyway you prefer. The roof pool is really clean and stays open until late.
Review 53:Nothing! Perfect place to stay if it's in your price range!
Review 54:Very clean spacious hotel, super friendly and helpful staff. Great location there's a shopping mall next door and coop grocery store around the corner. Great buffet with a lot of western and Japanese cuisine. Wifi was a little weak the second time I stayed I mentioned it to the staff and I had full bars within 10minutes, extremely good service and pleasant staff. This is a great example of what a 5 star hotel should be like. 10/10
Review 55:The hotel is not well maintained and the location is not ideal. There are scuff marks everywhere including the lifts. Breakfast looked fine but did not deliver whatsoever on taste. The lighting in the bathroom is hopeless for make-up and the hair dryer was a joke.
Review 56:The Concierge and staff were helpful but I would have preferred to stay in District 1 where there is better shopping, spa and cafes to choose from. Choose something located near the Caravelle.
Review 57:Was charged an additional 24USD as the DOUBLE room was accidentally picked for a single person so had to fork out for my gf even though if you select 2 people on the website the price remains unchanged. So a bit of a scam there! The location isnt good. its a 10-20 minute drive to most places you'd like to go so going anywhere is a bit annoying.
Review 58:Really nice room. Fancy toilet :)
Review 59:Poor English from the restaurant staff and a very big discrepancy between the menu and the meals served ruined our dinner at The Brasserie.
Review 60:Good service
Review 61:Everything that you'd expect from a 5 star hotel, extremely pleasant and comfortable place to be. In addition the price was very reasonable indeed, I thought.
Review 62:No "no.likes". However, the hotel is rather suited for a short business or layover stay than a tourist visit of Saigon.
Review 63:Big, stylish and well equipped room; bathroom with separate Japanese toilet. Excellent breakfast.
Review 64:My concierge lady was Japanese and couldn't speak Vietnamese- which made booking restaurants/bars a little difficult. And also lacked real local time insight that comes from someone who is from the area.
Review 65:Everything- from facilities, decor, comfort, breakfast spread, location, etc
Review 66:I was surprised the room had some carpeting and considering it's tropical climate, it can get a little musty. I was disappointed the morning breakfast did not have more Vietnamese food; it was more catered to Western tastes.
Review 67:This is a great hotel, with good service. I checked in a little after midnight and they were very gracious in escorting me to my room and welcoming me. In addition, it was my birthday; they sent up a little cake and a number of staff came up to me to wish me a happy birthday, which was a little odd when they stopped me out of the blue. The bed is nice and firm, which I prefer. There is an electric bidet on the toilet. Bath products are Nikko private brand.
Review 68:Even though it was a non smoking room, but someone before us was smoking in the room. So the smell is terribly bad. The hotel should do something.
Review 69:The room space is big and the room style is nice.
Review 70:Everything about this hotel is high standard, absolutely 6* standard like the jamiera beach hotels in Dubai. Decor was very modern, service exceptional, staff were very polite and courteous, breakfast was varied and well presented. Having stayed and some of the best hotels around the world, I have to rank this hotel as one of my favourites.
Review 71:Very dedicated staff, but please give them help in getting better speaking and understanding English!
Review 72:Lovely stay at the very top, stayed at Club level, very quit and nice. Also nice poolarea and sofisticated colours and design. Taxi to city cheep, their shuttle very good.
Review 73:The room was excellent. The Japanese facilities are superior quality and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Very clean everywhere and the room view is amazing
Review 74:It's not a 5-star hotel anymore, the furniture is worn and the attention to detail is not there. Compared to a Sofitel or Hilton, it does not compare as suggested by it's price tag.
Review 75:The bed was really comfortable, the facilities are great and the staff are friendly.
Review 76:None...
Review 77:We liked everything, rooms, facilities, breakfast and service. As I worked as a tourism consultant, know a little bit about industry and this hotel is 5 star benchmark!
Review 78:It is close to shopping centre, not too far from airport just 15 minutes by car. Couple of restaurants inside hotel if you are on business trip it is good choice.
Review 79:The pillows went flat after a while & were not very comfortable. The seafood dinner buffet which got excellent reviews at many websites was quite a disappointment. The oysters were of poor quality, and the lobsters were so so only.
Review 80:We were upgraded to a king suite. The staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was fairly good with plenty of choices. We went for spa, which had 20% discount. The wifi signals were good throughout the hotel.
Review 81:Staff's poor English and because of that they give wrong info about things. We had wedding anniversary at the night we stayed there and we let management know that beforehand. Even so we found out that sewage trap in the bathroom in our room didn't work properly and we had to call to staff to fix it. And in general I would rate the hotel as 4* not 5*.
Review 82:Dinner,breakfast,friendly staff
Review 83:Did not have any negative experience But as a solo traveller my preference would be to stay downtown
Review 84:The enthusiasm of staff at all levels Great gym/ fitness facilities Tict all the usual boxes
Review 85:N/A everything was superb
Review 86:Staff very attentive, clean everywhere, excellent value, good quality good and beverage. Club level excellent all round, great canapés and good wines offered between 5-8pm
Review 87:The breakfast execution disappointed in couple of ways. Firstly, the staff are over-keen to guide one to a convenient table for them, rather than let you choose a place you like. The reaction on one day to my resistance was quite surly throughout the breakfast. Secondly, on each day of our stay something went wrong with our simple ordering of tea and coffee (wrong drink, cold instead of hot, no arrival) despite very clear instructions. Thirdly, the clearing of the buffet starts 15min before the advertized end of the breakfast period. They warn about it in a friendly manner, but it feels similar to the first point above - the customer is considered a necessary hindrance to the smooth functioning of the hotel logistics. This is really not reasonable behavior in this price category.
Review 88:We went to the Nikko due to a good price for New Year in the Executive Club rooms, usually I would have considered the Nikko as out of my price range. I was very much looking forward to the stay, and the facility met most of my expectations with no major disappointments. The room was very comfortable and the staff are generally zealous in assisting. The shuttle bus service was perfect, as was the assistance with other small matters such as post and storage.
Review 89:A bit off the center so we had to use the taxi quite often.
Review 90:Room was spacious with a great view, concierge service was very polite and helpful. Breakfast had a wide range of variety with very good quality.
Review 91:Minibar grossly overpriced with a beer at 95,000 dong so went to Co-op Mart round the corner and paid about 15,000 and filled the fridge. Much better! Very formal though staff all very friendly.
Review 92:Most everything, breakfast was choices beyond belief and the room size was wonderfully spacious compared to other hotels we stayed at and beautifully appointed right down to the luxury toilet.
Review 93:Nothing, Hotel is perfect in great friendly location !
Review 94:Staff at hotel was extremely helpful from check in , to pool and gym and breakfast. Food was fresh and service excellent. This hotel is a gem in HCMC. So happy I did not waste my money at the Hyatt again ! From now on the Hotel Nikko will be where I stay in HCMC
Review 95:Wi fi in hotel room at night kept dropping out but was generally ok. Saigon is an eye opener, not in my opinion a tourist stopover, but we are all looking for different experiences. Took 2 hours to clear airport by the time we filled in more forms and we had a visa. Amazed customs charge 65US to go to the country should be other way round in my opinion.
Review 96:This hotel will spoil you for all other hotels, you will never be satisfied again, level of service, quality of staff, all smiles, very modern 2 year old hotel built at no expense, upgrade to a club room free breakfasr, afternoon tea 2 to 4 pm free drinks and light supper 5 to 8pm on the top floor, 23 levels. All complimentary. Taxis have meters cost to hotel should not exceed 15 aus dollars max 300,000 dong ask hotel to confirm payment amount on arrival at hotel, watch out for private operators we paid 35 US from airport and even though you have visa proceed to visa counter before proceeding through passport control not exactly the most cheerfull custon operators, Saigon is an eye opener 2,000,000 motor bikes all it seems in the one street, these are all parked on the town footpath so movement around town is difficult, and you will be seriously hasselled, they do not stop for pedistrians on or off a pedistrian crossing, crossing roads is a serious challenge, we found it overwhelming and just relaxed by the beautifull hotel swimming pool and spa centre, the hotel has an adjoining shopping area owned by hotel and accessed through hotel. They recommended a vietnam resturant 15/20 min taxi ride 4 course meal shared and two beers each cost $29AUS strongly suggest do not drive yourself there are no traffic rules. Use taxis they are cheap. Walking around town is difficult
Review 97:the staff are so arrogant. when i stayed the hotel, they refused to talk with me, they would say they had korean staff and ask me to wait. but actually it was not a big deal. because i know my english is poor. the problem is about my deposit. i had been going to stay just a day at the hotel, but i extended my stay and the staff made a deposit once more. and it's been about 1 and half weeks after i checked out so i called the hotel and just asked when i can get my deposit and they asked my name and they couldn't find my data and said that 'i think you don't understand english so when korean staff are here we'll call you again'. if you are not a native speaker of english don't use this hotel.
Review 98:cleanness
Review 99:Everything, from the great food buffets (try their lunch or dinnerbuffets!!) to the rooms to the service to the spa...THIS is a high-quality hotel. Afford it in Vietnam, much cheaper than Europe ;)
Review 100:This well designed, understated hotel offers elegance and style with impeccable service. We were upgraded to an executive suite and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The breakfast is superb with an enormous range on offer. Our experiences with the concierge and all the staff was excellent at all times. Highly recommended.
Review 101:Generally, HCM city has a crazy traffic!!!
Review 102:For people who are from countries whereby hotel prices are crazily expensive like Singapore and HK, this hotel is superb for its high-class facilities for an affordable price. The staff are courteous and helpful. They look professional and friendly at all times. They tried to accomodate to our request of checking out 1 hour later. They also have complimetary shuttle bus services to the city and a few tourist attractions. It has a shopping mall connected to the hotel. If you are lazy to go out, you can go up to 4th floor to have your meal. There's a local foodcourt and a few dessert shops. Awesome experience!
Review 103:None at all.
Review 104:I like that they take care of their guests and treat them as royalty. I like that they will do everything for you and there's no requests that they won't try to fulfil. I like that they are concern with everything that is happening with their guests and their primary goal is to make sure that their guests' stay is comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. i love Nikko Hotel Saigon and I'll make sure that I will be back again.
Review 105:The Nikko in Saigon is one of my favorite hotels anywhere.
Review 106:Fantastic staff, room serviced twice daily and towels, water etc replenished. Very quiet. Lovely bathroom. Very well priced.
Review 107:Superb breakfast, helpful and caring staff. Comfy bed and spacious room. A really nice hotel.
Review 108:not enough reclining chairs for the pool area.
Review 109:staff were excellent
Review 110:Single handedly, one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. Exceptional value for the 5 star service that you receive.
Review 111:Nothing!
Review 112:Everything! Excellent staff, service, facilities, food and very tastefully done, comfortable rooms.
Review 113:Great hotel! Great breakfast buffet!!! :))
Review 114:nil
Review 115:the toilet bowl :D because toilet bowl is the warmest place in the room <3
Review 116:Everything
Review 117:That we had to leave!
Review 118:Great customer service. Staffs are friendly and helpful, quick to respond. Breakfast is great. Room is spacious.
Review 119:Why I can not have more bottles of water for tea!
Review 120:Location is not as central as expected
Review 121:The staff, level of cleanliness and efficiency.
Review 122:Everything I love the fact you can use the spa for free includes spa bath, Suana and steam room. Then relax in the chill out room.
Review 123:nothing really
Review 124:staff personnels were friendly and warm
Review 125:very very good
