Reviews for Best Western Mountain Shadows

Review 1:Front desk was welcoming and helpful- so much that my son thought the guy there musth even the owner. Best breakfast of any hotel on our trip- the breakfast burritos were delicious and there was lots of variety. All of the staff members were professional and nice. We had our two kids with us, ages 7 and 20 and they loved it too.

Review 2:Comfortable room. Breakfast included. Had a laundry (self service), which came in handy after a few days on the road. Free parking directly outside the room.

Review 3:Nicely located outside of CBD. Tram stop just down road from hotel, only short trip into town. Restaurants are very close as is supermarket & liquor store just across the road. Good WiFi. Even though on a main road, very little road noise.

Review 4:The carpets were stained and the room had a peculiar smell it appeared to be a mix of cooking and heavy air freshener. It is located a long way from the centre where better value can be obtained

Review 5:Staff very helpful

Review 6:Just a bit far from the old town centre, so you need to drive or take a cab.

Review 7:Very comfortable and large rooms. Pool looked great but no time to try it out.

Review 8:The room I had this time was not the best, as the baseboard heater made an annoying noise all night. The bathroom door is somewhat of an inconvenience being right in front of the toilet and has to be propped open. Not sure if the door seal is going bad, but this room was much noisier than rooms in the past.

Review 9:I enjoyed the friendly staff (as always). The pool and jacuzzi are nice to enjoy at the end of the day. Breakfast and coffee are alway a nice way to start your day.

Review 10:It is the noisiest hotel we have ever stay at. You could hear people above talking in normal voice but it sounded like it was in our room. Ya and the sex others were having was load also

Review 11:The room was clean and the breakfast was above normal!!

Review 12:Room was musty probably carpets could do with cleaning. Didn't realise how far from main part of Durango it was. Next time would stay in main shopping/restaurant area.

Review 13:There were no dislikes.

Review 14:The spaciousness and cleanliness of the room; the room's amenities; the friendliness of the staff; the wonderful breakfast and comfortable breakfast room; the cucumber and fruit water and coffee in the lobby along with cookies in the afternoon. Sorry we didn't have time to use the pool and hot tub. They looked so tempting.

Review 15:Everything about our stay was great. The gal who checked us in was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean, nicely updated, attractive, functional and very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty with many choices. We didn't get time to use the pool or hot tub, but we did walk into the bubble and it was very nice and extremely relaxing with the water fall. If we come to Durango again, this will be the place we stay.

Review 16:Not much parking in this " courtyard" style hotel.

Review 17:The room had a brick wall which gave the room character. Very convenient to groceries, car wash etc.

Review 18:The hotel had made a mistake with our booking. William at the front desk was very helpful, but Melissa, the manager, was aggressive while sorting the probem. By the second day she had mellowed. The room was dark with no windows.

Review 19:Room was clean and spacious.

Review 20:No exercise facility, nice pool, but no machines. Limited parking.

Review 48:Typical Best Western quality. Spacious, clean, well appointed bedroom, basin separate from bathroom which is always a plus. Above average breakfast without the bacon and eggs, although hard boiled of the latter are available. Whilst on the edge of town, the supermarket is directly opposite and a free shuttle right to the railway station at the other end of town is available from the supermarket. Can also walk along the river through the park into town

Review 49:Hard to get my suitcase up the steps--elevator would have been helpful.

Review 50:The staff was very friendly & helpful telling us about shuttle to downtown Durango & also good suggestions for places to eat. Also very good ideas on where to hike-really appreciated this info. It was also very clean & comfortable.
