Reviews for Lotte Legend Hotel Saigon
Review 1:Food, drinks and services are very expensive, the pool wasn't great as there weren't enough sun loungers for us and we had to sit on the floor . The pick up service from the airport is unreasonable at $55, you can get there for around $5 to $10. It felt very businessy
Review 2:Food and overall cleanliness was good. Room was comfortable and there are a few different dinner options too
Review 3:Just a suggestion - it would be great if an Iron existed in the rooms
Review 4:The staff were fantastic and attentive. The buffet breakfast was extensive. The upgrade to the Presidential Suite was worth every dollar. Great pool
Review 5:However, this particular hotel is a bid outdated and needs some refurbishment. The baby cot had metallic walls and when our baby was standing up holding the bars, she would need to be supervised all the time as if she falls down the cot accidentally, she would hurt herself on to the bars.
Review 6:We like Lotte Hotels, as they provide outstanding customer service. The location was good for small inexpensive local restaurants. The breakfast was good too with wide food varieties.
Review 7:Low quality showerhead, waterfaucet and bath amenities. Housekeeping made too much noise at the hall. Male receptionists were rude. Drinks and food in the lobby were ridiculously expensive (6 euro for a beer).
Review 8:Bed was comfortable. Great facility. There is a good chinese restaurant in the hotel. Clean, most employees were nice.
Review 9:Smoking allowed in lobby where high tea, drinks and cakes served, smoking/non smoking "tables" within restaurant/breakfast room. Large area and luckily few smokers when I visited but still noticeable. Business style hotel, few tourists/families. Pool area:- slow/intermittent wifi; lacklustre, needs revamp,
Review 10:Clean hotel, helpful efficient staff, easy to converse, spacious feel throughout. Clean modern gym facilities.
Review 11:The hotel in general, the swimming pool and central location near the most important monuments of Ho Chi Minh. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is very good.
Review 12:Nothing bad to say.
Review 13:Overall a professional hotel with excellent facilities. The Executive floor is worth the extra. Take a river view room and enjoy the ever changing vista.
Review 14:At the reception the staff swipe my card without asking me if i want to deposit the incidentals in cash or to charge it to my card.she just swipe it right away! And last the aircondition at rm1104 is not that cold at 17*C?
Review 15:The hotel overall!!location,cleanliness,value for money,breakfast buffet,the bed!
Review 16:I need to hand carry my bags to level 14 for check-in. No free parking for motorbike.
Review 17:Stayed at executive floor, enjoyed the free hi-tea, twin bed room size is adequate and conformable. Breakfast provides lot of choices.
Review 18:A very small item no problem - a bit of noise in the room 916 in the form of structure borne noise thru walls from a bar facility next to the hotel , noting the front desk was aware of this concern and offered to change rooms we declined great front desk
Review 19:We arrived a little early after a long haul flight , the front desk where most helpful , and prepared a room for an early check in
Review 20:I have booked my room in your Hotel in Booking.com which I always do when I travel in any country. I received a confirmation from Booking.com that my request is confirmed for a smoking room and a big bed. When I arrive in your Hotel as planned, I appreciate that a smoking room was given to me but it has a 2 single beds, I have called your reception from my room that I have booked a big bed not 2 single bed, the reception answer was, this was the only room available which is a smoking room, I could have been informed earlier before my arrival since your Hotel has already charge my credit card on October 21st and my ETA was on the 25th. During your allocation of room everyday for any guest coming on the same day, your people concerned could have block a room as per my confirmation. I think I have arrived in your Hotel at pass 8pm. already. Now this experience in your Hotel tells me to have another option in other hotels when I travel back to Ho Chi Minh. I'm a member of IHG group of Hotels, Sheraton and even Circle of Shangrila hotel group.
Review 21:Hotel is mediocre. There is nothing wrong with it but we visited some other hotels friends were staying In that we're around the same price and much nicer. Staff was ok but nothing special. They were a bit rude and unwelcoming
Review 22:The location is a short walk away from the main sites but taxis are readily available.
Review 23:Excellent service. The food was amazing, especially the buffet breakfast and dinners. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We booked a tour through the tour desk and it was the same price as going through the provider directly.ATM machine located inside the hotel. Pool facilities kept very clean.
Review 24:I will find it really hard to dislike this hotel. Loved everything about it
Review 25:I loved everything about my stay. Staff were extremely friendly, clean hotel and food was awesome. The gym facilities were great too
Review 26:Really bureaucratic check in. Had more efficient check in's in 2 star hotels. Staff trying to be helpful but too hung up with the paperwork. Very painful experience.
Review 27:Staff were very willing. Room was comfortable, a bit dated but clean. Considering it's a 5 star hotel I was not completely bowled over.
Review 28:Didn't like that in the surrounding streets there were massive rats running which is not the hotels fault but stayed at another hotel close by and no rats. Had to pay to use the computer. There was not a designated smoking or non smoking area which I found as a non smoker awful.
Review 29:We liked the resort feel it had.
Review 30:Spa was closed, decor is quite bland and soulless, front desk staff not overly helpful
Review 31:Good location, very comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, beautiful pool
Review 32:Most of receptionists need to be trained again: for instance they could not find my bookings many times although i got payment confirmations by the hotel or they could not manage to move smoking guests from nonsmoking floor to a smoking floor so that nonsmooking floors smelt smoky what effected sleep quality or the receptionists gave me wrong information several time or hotel staff do not know the area around the hotel so that they gave me wrong advice.
Review 33:A/C was good in summer. Assistant front office manager Ms. Vo Van is a professional staff.
Review 34:Wifi didn't work well in parts of the hotel - worked best around the pool and in the gym. Staff wouldn't change US$ that had any marks on it.
Review 35:Breakfast was superb - amazing variety. The gym is excellent and pool is big but shallow. Staff were great and managed to change my booking through contacting booking.com since I had mistakenly booked a room with no breakfast (breakfast is $25 per person whereas with booking.com it was around $3 per person when selecting the breakfast option).
Review 36:The breakfast selection could become boring when you have stayed for over 3 days, it seems very similar day in and day out The facilities have become a bit worn out -- toilet in the room has a bit of problem when flushing. You need to flush a couple of times to stop water from flowing through continuously and for the tank to be refilled. It is also too noisy until the tank gets full. The bathtub has a bit of rust showing at the bottom.
Review 37:Prime location -- despite being right in the center of HCMC attractions, the place was very peaceful and relaxing The staff are very courteous and accommodating The ambiance is nice
Review 38:Laundry service was very expensive
Review 39:Staff attention and service in the Club Lounge was definitely worth the extra cost. Would have liked more freedom to take a glass of wine or beer to our room instead of always having to drink it in the lounge.
Review 40:Laundry service, room service and restaurant prices are too high.
Review 41:Loved being able to escape to the club lounge after visiting the busy city. Free snacks & beer and wine 10-10, plus high tea and happy hour. Excellent staffs were professional and friendly throughout the hotel but especially in the club lounge. Beautiful views from the 14th floor, powerful air conditioning, nice bathrooms, great water pressure, very clean, good linens, reliable free wifi - no complaints about service or rooms. Thoroughly satisfied at this price point.
Review 42:If you don't mind walking, then no issues: the hotel requires a bit of walking when you like to visit bustling Le Than Ton street, full of restaurants and bars, one block away. Only 5 min walk. Not really an issue.
Review 43:Classic old style 5* hotel. Everything is super clean, shiny, well painted, friendly staff and interesting art and decorations. Certainly a good hotel to stay. I'll be back for sure.
Review 44:The staff did not clean our room one day during our stay, it was difficult to understand why as we hadn't left any sign we did not want them to clean and left quite early. The desert we got from a 'patisserie' at the lobby was too expensive and had hair on it, but I guess this is not the hotel's fault.
Review 45:Spacious room and nice lobby. Conveniently located only a few minutes from the Opera.
Review 46:Nothing.
Review 47:Everything. Booked Club room. Best offer I have had for exec floor, breakfast, high tea, dinner buffet and all drinks all day inc. Staff very accommodating to our baby and a very relaxed atmosphere. Pool is lovely and ideal for little ones. Breakfast was great. Simply the very best in HCMC and we've been to nearly all 4/5* here (we are residents). Thank you Legend!
Review 48:Staff were very willing to help but it was difficult to get requests made over the phone to reception as they were often confused or misunderstood what was being asked. But they were always willing to try their best, even going as far as coming up to the room to get the name of a restaurant in writing to book for us.
Review 49:Lovely clean room, complimentary water, excellent servicing of the room, very helpful staff. Pity that breakfast is not included in the rate.
Review 50:nothing bad but we felt like the only tourists in an otherwise business like Hotel.
Review 51:Clean, safe hotel with a grand foyer and professional friendly staff. Good proximity to sights and good restaurants.
Review 52:I decided to take this hotel because of the children's play center. This center is an empty room, not well maintained. Inside there's a musty smell. There is only one activity for children during the Sundays, but you must eat in the Bistro, otherwise your children cannot take advantage. This is nothing about a Kids' club. I recomend this hotel if you don't have childrens. The single activity for them is the pool. The WIFI connection is really bad! If you want to work there, you cannot download documents because this takes a lot of time.
Review 53:A very good hotel. Great Breakfast. Everything was clean. Nice staff.
Review 54:If the wifi could be improved so that the signal was constant throughout the hotel I would have given a score of 10/10. Signal was poor in my room but quite good in the Lobby.
Review 55:This is definitely a 5 star hotel, from the furnishings to the level of service provided by the staff!
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Second stay here and cant say anything bad. Location is perfect, close to the main shopping street and next to the river. Very friendly staff, fast check in and out, delicious breakfast buffet, great lounge, spacious rooms..
Review 58:The breakfast I felt was a little over priced, I no its a buffet and was lovely but how munch do you eat at breakfast, pushing £20 per person is a bit much. Apart from that lovely
Review 59:The decor is lush, and the gym and facilities were lovely. The staff are cheerful and really helpful and friendly Wifi was good Rooms bathroom bed was all lovely
Review 60:The duvet in the room made us feel too hot even though we set the temperature to 13 degrees! Should consider giving a lighter duvet.
Review 61:Location, helpful staff , room is comfortable and big
Review 62:The area was closed off for area 1 celebrations .. This caused us with bags to walk 400 meters to the hotel as taxi's were excluded from the closed area .. The hotel was well aware of the road closure but did not disclose this on there Webb site .. I guess occupancy still rules as number one above customer convenience ..!!!
Review 63:The hotel ihas lots more Asian guests than European .. The cost of drinks and food was more 5 star than 4 .. The staff well trained and happy
Review 64:Room had a selection of music with a good speaker system. It was a pity there was no way to connect an iPod or laptop to play our own music. Also, the room didn't provide an iron.
Review 65:The rooms were comfortable and we were upgraded to a river view room. The staff were also excellent.
Review 66:in the Japanese restaurant, the price is quite high. The food is moderate, but when you entere the WC. The electric hand dried of the Paris Station Toilets are in better condition.
Review 67:no things what is remarkable. I pay the Suite, but i the night i must put my cloth in the chairs, because there are no place to put. I sleep three night, and were asking seven times my room no. when i entere the lounge.
Review 68:Location quite okay, but not really the best, as you have to walk (but just 10 minutes) to be in the area where best shops and restaurants are
Review 69:Very nice hotel, clean, staff available and corteous, nice view on the river
Review 70:Even if I think hard - I could not find one little thing....
Review 71:The room had a nice River-View. The staff was 5-star. But best of all was the breakfast: A variety I have never seen before! And not to forget the pool: After walking through the noisy town, that was a perfect place to relax.
Review 72:We liked everything about this hotel: very big and comfortable room (with really comfortable bed), tasty breakfast with a good choice of dishes, proffesional and polite staff, great swimming pool and location (check out a Japanese street next door with many good sushi places). We are very satisfied with this hotel.
Review 73:I had to upgrade my room to have no smoking even though I booked non smoking. Otherwise hotel was very nice.
Review 74:The swimming pool, the polite friendly staff, the lovely bedrooms. Perfect!
Review 75:- Only Hotel of this category in HCM without Spa. - Dim sum for Breakfast in addition of the rest could be nice.
Review 76:- Very good Phô for Breakfast ! - Breakfast buffet quite good. - Outside Swiming pool, and gym are good, with nice steam, and sona in the gym.
Review 77:Poor quality buffet breakfast, big disappointment and will not stay again. Very bad service at the pool side.
Review 78:Super size double bed was very comfortable.
Review 79:we arrived at 1am - overnight desk staff was not swithched and could not operate efficiently and fast. no welcome fruit in room. double offered instread of twin reserved!
Review 80:facilities attendion of staff to details
Review 81:Wifi sometimes not that good and not many foreign TV Channels. The bed was rather hard, but thats obviously Asian style.
Review 82:The breakfast offered a wide selection of delicious food (Asian as well as western - western e.g.: fresh waffles, cakes, fruits, bread, jam, cheese from Switzerland...). I recommend the evening dinner brunch incl. lobster & wine (very good deal!!). The staff was lovely and everything well organised. Pool was very large and clean. We had a very nice time :)
Review 83:nothing. Everything was really perfect
Review 84:The furniture in the room, the room with view on the river, the people at the reception, the facilities with the concierge who reserved ticket for the water puppet show, etc
Review 85:Staff could be a little better trained in English but very minor complaint.
Review 86:Excellent room, beautiful toilet, comfortable bed, wide choice for breakfast.
Review 87:The best way into the centre of town is through the back gate, which opens onto the sleaziest area of Saigon we ever saw. Worth avoiding.
Review 88:All the facilities were faultless. Staff efficient and courteous.Great breakfast.
Review 89:Room Facilities We forgot our safe open. The cleaning staff found it, notified management, who counted the money, locked the safe and left a letter in our room explaining the situation and mentioning the exact amount of the money. When we returned the manager opened the safe and had us sign that all the money were there. Very professional!
Review 90:Nothing, don't hesitate to book this hotel
Review 91:They care about their guests and go above and beyond. Totally unexpected I received flowers and a cake for my birthday from management. Staff in gym help to spot me- very attentive
Review 92:Location, but minor issue.... short walk and taxis are super cheap. Wifi had issues while we were there.
Review 93:Spent 3 nights here recently with my wife and another family. Hotel is very luxurious, nice big comfortable beds, amazing lobby and restaurant, big pool in the back. Enjoyed the comforts of this hotel, but like all luxury hotels, the prices at the restaurant and bar are high. Comes with the territory of staying in nice places. Concierge services were extremely friendly, helping us book dinner reservations and assisting when we left a bag in a taxi. Overall, highly recommend for people seeking luxury in HCMC.
Review 94:Terrible breakfast Extremely slow check in. Over 40 minutes Very poor customer service, particularly the staff working in reception
Review 95:Size of room
Review 96:Not able to relax round pool when hotel has wedding function booked ! Although we were offered alternative next apartments block small rooftop pool tiny but better than nothing
Review 97:Gym, pool, location , attentive efficient staff, river view rooms all fab
Review 98:I stayed here twice within a 2 week period. The first time for four days and them after an excursion a further two days. On both occasions it took well over 40 minutes to check in. The reception staff together with the duty manager are a very good lesson in NOT how to look after guests. I was so annoyed I asked to speak to their GM. However I never received even a call from him and was told when I checked out that he had not arrived at the hotel yet. Also, contrary to some of the reviews I read the breakfast at this hotel is again not up to 5 star levels. The "freshly" made juices contained a lot of water and were served like you would expect from a cheap take away stall on the street. And overall the quality of the food was not at all pleasant. Even the coffee, which generally in Vietnam is fantastic was unpleasant and inferior.
Review 99:The room size is very good as is the comfort of the beds.
Review 100:- abit far from main shopping street and Ben thanh market
Review 101:Friendly and helpful staff , excellent executive club service and food (esp afternoon tea and happy hour!)
Review 102:Perhaps children at aperitif time in the EL should not be admitted, but is only a suggestion :-)
Review 103:Location, good management and staff also good cooks! Nice and clean swimming pool. We went for the Executive Lounge and it was a very good choice both for breakfast and aperitif time. It was a great deal for New Year with booking.com
Review 104:The light curtains!
Review 105:We stayed at this hotel between Xmas and new year. The staff were excellent and the gym and facilities were excellent. The rooms were very comfortable! The only drawback was that the curtains were not very dark and I am a light sleeper. There also could be more vegetarian food on the menu and in the buffet. We stayed in at the hotel for their New Years celebrations which were amazing! All the staff got up and danced at the end and there was a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers!
Review 106:Some areas of the hotel look old and worn. When I walked in initially, it seemed a bit retro and not fully up-to-date.
Review 107:It was easy to get to the city and the sights. It had a nice pool and the staff were friendly.
Review 108:we had a river facing room. The noise from the street below and the beer hall next door were very noisy till 1 am, The view is not that great, mainly ship repair cranes and businesses along the river
Review 109:Staff, Food, Cleanliness. Price
Review 110:Free wifi very weak not enough sunloungers at pool
Review 111:Comfort of bed nice bathroom fabulous breakfast buffet and dining options .. room upgrade as on honeymoon .. V nice pool and good gym
Review 112:Pool had a function prohibiting use Tour Concierge knowledge only HBO movie channel
Review 113:Room Breakfast Buffet Location Staff Fitness Facilities WiFi
Review 114:From complimentary hotel pick up to check out - we were treated like royalty. Thoroughly enjoyed splashing in the pool with our one year old in the mornings and enjoying the food and wine in the executive lounge with our baby monitor in the evenings. The room was very spacious and 'baby friendly'. The bath filled up very fast which was a plus:) The view was just out if this world - we loved watching the sunrise overlooking the river. One of the best 5 star hotels we stayed at.
Review 115:Buffet breakfast was alright but not impressive. The chef and staff did not really maintain the quality of the food i.e cold hashbrowns, limited fruit selections, bread and yoghurt. They had a fruit juice stand where they would blend for you on the spot but they didn't had the most common fruits that one would take in their juice. Wine selections at the lounge area were very limited but their food quality on the room service menu is great. I also felt that I have to consistently catch the attention of staff and they aren't readily available at the breakfast or lounge area.
Review 116:The Lotte Legend was a sanctuary compared to the busy traffic of Saigon for our 8 days stay. It is away from the overwhelming hustle and bustle of the city. Our room faced the river view and it was on the 11th floor.Great facilities and amenities. Clean and spotless room and housekeeping maintenance was excellent. The bed was very comfortable.Good Wifi connection is provided (no password required)Free shuttle from the hotel to the main areas - Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera House etc. These places are also within walking distance. If you are planning on visiting the Mekong Delta (Cai Be), I really would suggest taking the service provided by the hotel. It may cost more than the travel agencies but you are guaranteed to travel in comfort and luxury. We made a mistake of signing up with an external agency. Thinking that the hotel's package was expensive, we signed up with Vietnam Travel and Tours. They seem to be promising in the beginning but it is totally the opposite of what they claim. They tend to squeze as many people they can into the shuttle van and it is so uncomfortable with the small seats they have. It was the most bumpiest ride to and fro.The staff are polite. They are always ready with a smile and a greeting but not particularly helpful. They could be further trained and it was very hard to understand their English which was limited. I called the housekeeping to ask for a safety pin and she didn't know what it was. When they don't undertstand something, they just say that they don't have it.They also don't seem to know about what their city provides or rather hesitant to give out information in case of soliciting i.e massage or hair salons. The pool is beautiful but we weren't able to use it as it was icy cold. As such, there weren't many guests using the pool. The management could probably look into having a heated pool for their guests.
Review 117:On our return, staff had noted our friends had stayed two weeks earlier (as had we) and upgraded them to a higher room while my husband I stood there. They had no note we had stayed and certainly no upgrade. Bad admin and we felt a little cheated.
Review 118:We pretty much enjoyed everything here. A perfect location for the city, staff excellent, a super breakfast and well apoointed rooms. River views higher up are better. We returned to Saigon later in our trip and chose to stay here again. That says it all.
Review 119:I loved everything about my stay here. The lobby is palacial, my room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were all helpful and polite. A true 5 star experience.
Review 120:Great free shuttle but also within walking distance of main sites. Great pool and showers in fitness centre handy for late departure after check out. Extensive breakfast buffet. River view recommended.
Review 121:nice price, but do not expect five star service. Staff not so interedted in the guests, not attentive and welcoming enough. Breakfast was really disapoining. Just regular bake off. Buffe not being filled up quickly enough. Really no five star breakfast! Had one meal in restaurant, and it was just tasteless.Tried to order drinks, but many were not availabel, thus on drinklist.
Review 122:Room really clean and really comfy beds and bedlinen. Roomservice (cleaning) really efficient. Pool excellent, so clean and nicely set.
Review 123:The staff could not have been more helpful at this Hotel. Brilliant experience. We were only here for one night, but the facilities here are great, with shops and swimming pool and outdoor bar area that are quiet and away from the bustle of the main street the other side. You'd be really enjoying a treat if you stay here whilst in Ho Chi Minh
Review 124:Position was central. Staff were hospitable and accommodating. The rooms were clean comfortable and well equipped. The swimming pool was a blessing after a hot days sightseeing.
Review 125:Nothing to mention!
Review 126:I can't remember when I was last time so satisfied and happy with a hotel stay. A lot of remarkable issues: Quietness of the room with city view Kindness of staff at reception desk Quality of bed...a part of heaven Location of the hotel in general - you can explore a lot of important areas in the city by walk Condition of equipment in gym - one of the best hotel gyms I ever have been!
Review 127:Friendly, helpful staff who accommodated all our requests for rooms close together and were incredibly helpful with some unexpected problems we encountered with our luggage. Fantastic breakfast!
Review 128:Fantastic breakfast, friendly staff, great lake review, free Wi Fi, super clean/spotless rooms with very good room service, very happy with tour booked thru' the hotels concierge, will definitely return.
Review 129:A bit dark area around the hotel, going to the back exit to the street we saw some big rats on the street (not fault of the hotel). Location is district 1 that is good, but area around does not offer too much. A bar on the corner is with loud music and full of young people (don't get a room on lower floors facing the river front). Bar of the hotel could close a bit later and be more lively.
Review 130:Great and calm swimming pool. Good variety of restaurants. Good location. Good facilities, nice decoration. Very helpful staff. Calm room facing the back.
Review 131:Check in at main reception, not clear on first arrival as to where to go etc Told to go to 14 th floor but not told how to get there Really business hotel. Views poor
Review 132:Executive lounge was good Breakfast, excellent choice Large pool
Review 133:Staff needs more training, couldnt understand English and lacked customer service orientation. Had to formally complain such that it reaches the top and action is done. Airconditioning quite warm. Walking outside, around this hotel isnt safe especially utilizing the city entrance which lends to the restos and attractions. Dark, smelly and creepy. Not a good place to stay if you have children. Better to stay around Dong Koi area. And quite a long unsafe walk from main attractions. Ended up taking cab alot instead pf enjoying outdoors Next time, will just stay at Rex, Majestic , Caravelle , or Intercontinental.
Review 134:Clean, spacious, good breakfast. Concierge okay. Redemption! They finally did something when I complained.
Review 135:Free upgrade. Great staff. Phenomenal breakfast. Excellent location. Everything, really.
Review 136:perfect place, beautiful rooms
