Review 1:nothing
Review 2:Derk and Denise are excellent hosts and full of good advise. The property is a museuum in its own right with a fascinating collection of cameras and naval collectibles.
Review 3:The host had anticipated every need. The place is fabulously quirky. We loved it! Room great, breakfast great, walk up the hill something of a challenge but meant we could indulge more at the local restaurants. Details like adapters, torch (not needed), binoculars, bird books, DVDs, honesty bar, reading material... The list goes on.
Review 4:No bad experiences during the two-night stay. The setting is ideal for persons that would prefer to be on the edge, rather than the centre of the hectic tourist areas.
Review 5:Personal involvement of owners in service delivery. Great attention to detail of all hospitality aspects.
Review 6:This was one of our favourite places we've stayed! Dirk and Denise were perfect hosts and their guest house was a perfect stay in every way. It felt more like staying with friends. Thank you.
Review 7:Breakfasts were great, owner was very helpful with arrangements for a car rental and other travel issues, owner and staff were friendly, it was easy to meet other travelers.

Review 14:We stayed at the Cheriton Guest House on 1st Jan after a long day visiting all the sights from Cape Town, down to the Cape and back up to Simon's town. The Guest house was the perfect place to rest after a busy day. The hosts were so welcoming and they have a lovely guest house. The room was really comfortable, clean and it has nice touches like complimentary sherry in the room. The breakfast was lovely and the views were gorgeous. We were made to feel really at home.
Review 15:My friend felt that the chairs outside could have been more comfortable.
Review 16:My friend and I thought the guest house was charming. There was a warm, homely and friendly atmosphere. Swimming in the pool was a definate highlight! The garden was peaceful. Breakfasts were delicious and the rooms very comfortable and spacious. The beaches were close by which was nice. Stunning views. We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 17:Our rooms were on the lower level - somewhat dark. My husband found the nautical theme and vast collection of memorabilia a bit overwhelming. It is a good 45 minutes + to Cape Town - and next time we might stay closer to the city.
Review 18:Hosts Dirk and Denise are attentive and helpful. Our rooms were comfortable and well - equipped - anticipating all needs of travelers. Breakfast on the porch viewing the ocean is great!
Review 19:Only stayed one night and so nothing went wrong or was unsatisfactory in this short time.
Review 20:We had the room in the basement which was next to the bar. This ended up being our own private bar (lock-in) by late evening...just wish I wasn't driving and could have tried a few. There is a big nautical theme and the owners have created a place with many quirky and interesting decors. Very helpful with local advice too.
Review 21:The breakfast!!! The best breakfast I had during my 2 weeks stay in South Africa! Warm welcome - rooms are clean - bed is good and it is very quiet. We found the location very good as we wanted to visit Cape Point and the penguins colony. One more thing: you will be pleasantly surprised by the unique decoration...
Review 22:decoration self-catering mini pub breakfast location cozy atmosphere hosts are very nice and kindly collections with camera and other interesting stuffs
Review 23:Nothing.
Review 24:Everything about Cheriton is great. Unique and nicely decorated place. Dirk is very kind and helpful to us. Denise prepared us delicious breakfast. Thank you Dirk and Denise!
Review 25:It was tricky with a toddler as there were lots of breakables around and stairs / swimming pool and I was a bit nervous about that but the room they gave me was perfect for our needs.
Review 26:The people seem so genuine, and the house is full of character and treasures. There were so many small details they had thought of that made the stay great. The facilities were great for me and a small toddler. The views from the breakfast room stunning. The honesty bar packed with exotic liqueurs and high end whiskies. Complementary sherry! I'd definitely go back if I get a chance.

Review 47:Fantastic, owners and staff were very obliging, very friendly and a feel of being an individual. So helpful and knowledgeable and will arrange transport and trips with no problem
Review 48:Makes other B&B's seem boring.
Review 49:One of the more interesting accomodations, in a good way. Everything has been thoughtfully made available. It is all there, just ask if you don't see it. Check out the bar downstairs! Walking distance to the penguin viewing, beach and a great ocean view restaraunt. Loved it!
Review 50:Hygiene is poor with thousands of toys all around (looks like museum)found dead ants in the salt shaker at the breakfast plus the owners have2 dogs laying around the house, so there was no place for us to set butthe terrace area.
Review 51:The house very nice and comfortable, with good location close toboulders beach and nice restaurant (seafort) only walking distance.
Review 52:We couldn't stay longer.
Review 53:We loved the room and its location adjacent to an informal bar, full of quirky antiques. Incidentally, the bar closes at 8pm - it is a friendly place for guests to meet and exchange travel experiences.
Review 54:The guest house was lovely, the breakfast excellent. Dirk and Denise are lovely, helpful people. They have 2 well equiped bicycles, nice jacuzzy and an unbelievable collection of everything, especially cameras and navy stuff. The icy on the cake a self service bar full with special drinks. If you are going from Capetown our advice not to take the last two trains since there is no taxi around, probably the best renting a car or ask for a pick up before. Strongly recomended for a lovely holiday in a lovely place.
Review 55:Only stayed for 1 night
Review 56:Loved the place. Great location and friendly staff. The room was comfortable and homely. The bar area is more of a museum to us;) Excellent breakfast and timely laundry service. EXCELLENT!

Review 66:*Further from restaurants and center than expected (way back uphill)
Review 67:*Very friendly welcome *Fantastic honesty bar and decorations of thewhole guesthouse (marine style) *Really close to penguins
Review 68:No issues at all! Outstanding hospitality!!
Review 69:1) Great nautical decor, in keeping with the seafaring theme of Simon's Town. 2) Everything in the room perfectly in place 3) Not just clean -- it was spotless! 4) Excellent breakfast with tremendous view. 5) Tremendous attention to detail: electrical adapters in the room, binder in room listing area attractions and DVDs available for loan, bath soap stamped with the Inn's name, etc., etc.!
Review 70:Everything, really. It was the closest thing to a home away from home that we had during our month in South Africa. Owners Dirk and Denise are extremely welcoming and helpful, rooms are clean, comfortable and interesting. The guesthouse itself is thoughtfully designed with bird feeders, a cool pub and loads of great sitting/resting areas. The location is great: fantastic view from the balconies and a 10-minute walk from penguins and restaurants. It's the kind of place where you could hunker down for a week or two if the opportunity presented itself.
Review 71:This was like home for me , wonderfully place the views from upstairs are spectacular. Breakfast wonderfully, very friendly hosts. The honesty bar was something else amazing. As for the gardens I could have set there all days and watched the birds while sitting by the pool.
Review 72:Nothing apart from tough walk back up the hill from the restaurants!
Review 73:Attention to detail was overwhelming and my wife particularly liked the sunken garden and bird eaters. I liked the fantastic honesty bar and the warm welcome and hospitality. Also within walking distance of Boulders Beach and restaurants. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast excellent and lovely views over False Bay. Overall highly recommended and would stay there again
