Reviews for Plaza Motel
Review 1:The floors were freezing. Stale smell in room. Dirty bathroom mirror and baseboards. Cheap finishings. Weird kitchen set up with large appliances in the way of sink making it unaccessable. I would never recommend it, I was very uncomfortable the entire stay.
Review 2:Nothing.
Review 3:The room was dark & dingy and had a bad smell. Stained sheets. Dirty bathroom, faeces on outside of toilet bowl, cistern not connected properly so water leaked onto floor when flushing. Air conditioning sounded like jet taking off. Fridge motor running continuously. Piles of scrap furniture, kitchen equipment etc. dumped in area near rooms.
Review 4:Very dark rooms. Wifi worked, but low bandwidth so could check email, but couldn't watch a You Tube video, for example.
Review 5:Cheapest of the 'value' motels in the area on the 2 nights of our stay, but still over-priced at $55 pn. Full-size fridge-freezer, but cooker was not connected and cost an extra $20 which we declined. 'Breakfast' was coffee, pastry and an apple.
Review 6:Inexperienced staff, unkept rooms, and run down property.
Review 7:Broken refrigerated, didn't work at all , broken stove, dirty as well, WiFi kicked me off line several times a day, kitchen light didn't work and I had to teach the maintenance man how to repair the broken toilet in the next room over. The toilet leaked all over the floor, and we had to ask for bath towels and toilet paper. The staff is not trained for the tasks they are asked to do. I'm sorry I stayed here.
Review 8:Your website (Bookings.com) said no credit card necessary to hold a room as we were driving south toward Medford. But when we got there and didn't like the looks of the place, they said they were going to charge the credit card account whether we stayed there or not. I guess that's more deception on your part, not the motel's part.
Review 9:Not much other than the staff comp'ed the pet fee.
Review 10:I stopped in Medford for a brief night before heading over to Portland. Booking.com rates this place 3 stars. It's a lie! The room smells. There was a beat-up stove in there, which could have been a plus though I didn't need it. I later found out that it was a non-working stove. The room was used as a storage space for it. Shower didn't work; you have to sit in the tub. I didn't want to do that; I watered myself. Booking.com said there was breakfast included. I didn't see it. The owner was nowhere to be found. Calls were not answered in the morning, nor returned. It did have an out of proportioned refrigerator and Internet.
Review 11:It's an older place, and so of course it's not a modern type of motel. But it was clean and quiet.
Review 12:We had one of the larger rooms; it had a nice little kitchen, complete with small range, fridge, and microwave. It's older, but it was nice to relax on the couch and watch TV (which was VERY up-to-date!) and use their Internet, which was fast. I loved the separate bedroom, kitchen, and living room. Made it seem much more like being at "home." They are in the process of renovating the office, and will be offering a small breakfast area there; but for now, our manager was kind enough to bring us a basket with some fruit and a Danish, plus coffee makings. It was clean, and the bed was good. And you couldn't get much nicer than our manager!
Review 13:you get what you pay for - very poor value for the money - bed not comfortable - bathroom needing more cleaning - tub sides were dirty.
Review 14:the mgr. was friendly -
Review 15:The stove didn't work, the blanket on the bed was't big enough and the floors weren't very clean.
Review 16:The room was spacious, and had a full-size refrigerator and sink for meal prep. The mattress was comfortable and the temperature was good.
Review 17:The room was dark, the linens were stained, there were other guest sitting in the shadows of the parking lot smoking and drinking. The room was very dated and sleazy feeling. The reviews made this place sound like a deal but if it wasn't so late when we arrived I wouldn't have stayed.
Review 18:Friendly staff. They are definitely trying to make it better.
Review 19:You get what you pay for. The area was kind of sketchy with addicts walking around all hours of the night. Non-smoking room smelled like a bunch of smokers has excited. I was afraid to put my bags down and kept my shoes on at all times. Continental breakfast was an open package of coffee, spotted bananas and old apples the manager walked to our room when we checked in at midnight. It was pretty much a dump, but we knew we were taking a risk.
Review 20:The price. But it obviously came at a cost of comfort.
Review 21:It is not right off the freeway, but with my gps I had no trouble finding it. There were some broken appliances on the property, which were not pretty to look at. I would definitely stay here again, though.
Review 22:I was extremely impressed with the value of this motel. It was the least expensive place I could find and I was delighted at the room. The bed was firm and cozy, the room and bathroom were very clean and well kept, and there was a full kitchen with a mini stove/oven and a small refrigerator. I was grateful to be able to refreeze my ice packs for my cooler. The attendant was very friendly and attentive and they provided a breakfast basket. I also appreciated being able to park right in front of my room.
Review 23:Bed was very comfortable
Review 24:Location
Review 25:Facilities old and outdated
Review 26:Friendly staff.
Review 27:That it was listed as 3 star. Bathroom is old and run down.
Review 28:That it had a kitchen.
Review 29:Wish there was a frig
Review 30:A GPS is definitely an asset in finding this property .... bathroom and tub very unappealing.
Review 31:Room rate, friendly staff, daily fruit basket.
Review 32:The riff raff outside
Review 33:I like the value for the price and the staff is extremely friendly and professional
Review 34:Free breakfast was bought at the local corner market.
Review 35:This motel is centrally located and is easy to find.
Review 36:Where do I start? Location in an industrial area felt very non-secure. Unit was locked with an old bedroom-style door lock if no one was inside. Once inside, there was a deadbolt. The place was deep-down dirty. Sticky and smelly...just yukky. I didn't know where to put anything (like a toothbrush) down. I felt very unsecure there and slept with my clothes on and a chair jammed under the ancient doorknob. I could go on, but sum it up by saying I wouldn't have anyone I know stay at this place...ever...for any price. I would have forfeited the cost and stayed somewhere else, but I was just too tired to go looking.
Review 37:The owner/manager seemed OK
Review 38:This was much worse than the two star and less expensive motel in Yreka. Very dirty refrigirator, soiled bathtub, very old used furnishing, no reading lamps, no ice available, no soft drinks available, no normal TV broadcast available, dirty outside, key does not worked properly.VERY BAD OVERALL OPINION ON THIS MOTEL. I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THE 3 STAR DESIGNATION. PLEASE REPLY! Breakfast served at the check in. Hmm? Curious!
Review 39:very helpful young attendant that could not helped with everything
Review 40:Absolutely filthy! Carpet was disgustingly dirty! Walked from the showerto the bed and had to clean my feet with baby wipes! Appliances did notwork. Rooms painted very dark colors. Breakfast consisted of bananasthat were so over-ripe they were almost black, apples barely bigger thana golf ball and stale pre-packaged danish that our dog wouldn't eventouch! Management was rude...my son came to visit and had to wait for usto return from the store, the manager told him to leave. My sonresponded that he was waiting for his mother to get there and themanager insisted that he leave, told him he didn't want "anypunks hanging around"! All in all, worst place we have ever stayedat! Only stayed because we were tired and hot and were told we would becharged for the room anyway!
Review 41:noisy, floors thin could hear people walking around upstairs, air conditioner to noisy . could not adequately use kitchen area because of the two double beds. not room to move from kitchen to rest of room.
Review 42:The filthiest room I have ever stayed in - worse than my Bangkok, 1974 all-time record room. Smelled of cigarette smoke, everything covered in greasy grime, including mirrors, glass on pictures, windows, floor, - everything. Disgusting bathroom. Absolutely revolting. Construction noise, out-of-the way location, ugly buildings. Yuccch. If you want a truly negative experience, try the Plaza in Medford, Oregon.
Review 43:Good bed
Review 44:No fridge (was in room in description), dirty and extremely worn out carpets, sheets with holes, room was stinking. If I knew the condition and I new it was for free I would not decide to stay. Only because it was late, we were very tired we decided to air the room, used own towels as sheets. It was more like I imagine prison than motel. I have made pictures to present to anyone intrested.
Review 45:Stay away!!! Absulutely nothing! In reviews we have heard that manager was nice, but as soon as we said that we are not happy with the room he started to be unpleasant. That was the WORST stay in my life and I do travel a lot (Europe, China, US)
Review 46:no fridge...but they were getting another one.
Review 47:Manager was very nice. Great basket of fruit for morning. this is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. overall good value. slept well and not noisy for being right on the street. very close to downtown area.
Review 48:Carpet was so old and dirty looking that we didn't even want to walkon it without shoes on our feet. They were repainting the walls a darkcolor which made the room also way too dark - the main part of the roomhad one too white colored of a fluorescent light in the ceiling whichdidn't help at all.
Review 49:Owners were super nice and even held on to some items we forgot for aweek until we were back in the area to pick them up.
Review 50:The area of town wasn't the best and didn't feel very secureespecially with the cheap door locks. This is an old motel with datedfurniture and interior details. I wouldn't walk on the carpetwithout shoes on. The lighting was fluorescent and hard on the eyes. Theinterior wall color choices were odd.
Review 51:The owners were very nice. There was an area in the back where I couldtake my dog. Parking lot was well lit. There was a kitchenette in theroom - full-sized stove, frig, and large sink. They permitted dogs witha $15.00 fee. Shower was nice and hot. Bed was comfortable.
Review 52:Overall, our trip was enjoyable--not much to report here.
Review 53:We, a retired couple, spent three nights at this motel recently. Our stay was very affordable and pleasant, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, it was so easy to just pull up outside our room door and unload the car. We also had a stove, frig, microwave--so it was great that we could shop nearby and cook our own food. There is also a big shopping center several blocks away, but easy walking distance. There is also a Trader Joe's grocery store, on Ohio Street, across from the mall. Location is good for sight seeing in the surrounding areas--Ashland is only 5-10 minutes down Interstate 5, while the Rogue River National Forest is north on Highway 62--easy driving for sightseeing adventures. Also, the owner/manager was very pleasant to work with.
Review 54:Weird location. Old. Dirty. Spider webs. Dirt. Dust. Bugs. No bathroom fan. Questionable people. Toilet and refrigerators outside. Cords and wiring everywhere. Cracked toilet. Old furniture. Poorly painted. Cracks in tile, toilet and ceiling. :/
Review 55:Friendly staff. Price was good.
Review 56:Dark, dingy, smelly, dirty. Worst room we have ever stayed in. We had our reservations when we entered the room but it was late in the day after a long drive so we decided it would do for 1 night. By the time our eyes adjusted to the light and we could see the grime & deodorizer no longer masked the smell, we were committed so made the best of it. We were out of there by 6:00 AM though.
Review 57:nothing,
Review 58:My dog stayed for free! It is not luxury and I was a bit worried about location but it seemed ok when I was out walking the dog. It had a full kitchen which I didn't expect.
Review 59:The staff is really unfriendly.
Review 60:Small water closet. Older TV. Water closet ran water all night so had to shut door to bathroom.
Review 61:Room cleanliness. DirecTV system.
Review 62:not clean, old and broken
Review 63:the price. it was kind of cheap
Review 64:Nasty, grungy carpet. King bed is a mediocre queen.
Review 65:Nice guy runs it, but's let's face it, it's a dive.
Review 66:the bathroom wasn't clean the sheets can use some bleech, the carpet was dirty, the key fit the door knob but not the dead bolt
Review 67:they allowed pets
Review 68:Outdated bathroom
Review 69:Friendly staff Good location
Review 70:The floor and bed was humid and not very clean.
Review 71:The staff was friendly and enthusiastic.
Review 72:they were friendly and the room was clean and nice
