Reviews for Adobe Inn Durango
Review 1:The bathroom was severely outdated. Everything worked well enough but it lacked any updating for a long time. The floors seemed to have debris tracked in even before I arrived which was annoying as I walked on the carpet.
Review 2:Place was decent. Not great but I didn't ask for it to be outstanding as a budget motel. The staff was reasonable and I had no issues
Review 3:Cleanliness, breakfast wasn't a breakfast (pastry and coffee), was told over the phone for my pets would be $15 but ended up being $15 each, wires everywhere,
Review 4:Pets allowed
Review 5:Left my phone charger in the room. Contacted front desk after leaving and they said maid didn't find one. I know exactly where I left it so guessing your maids are not honest
Review 6:I could not get the heater turned up, tried to contact the front desk and guessing they leave for the night. Next morning contacted front desk and they had no idea of how to turn the heat up. Needless to say, I froze my reared off.
Review 7:Parking was a bit of a mess due to the snow. I wish they would have declared the $15 per pet fee on their website. They worked with us on that however.
Review 8:Price was great, room was clean and adequate.
Review 9:The bed was very old and worn out. I have a cranky back and never really like hotel beds anyway so it wasn't very important to me.
Review 10:The owner is a wonderful woman and will always stay there any time in Durango. Family owned and run and they care.
Review 11:Door needed better seal around frame...allowed fumes from truck that was backed into parking space....which is appearently against the posted rules for parking.
Review 12:Staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Review 13:There was no snow removal so the parking lot was always icy.Room needed updated. There was always people above our head and it was Very Noisy! We most likely won't take stay here again.
Review 14:The only thing I didn't like were the noisy people beside us and above us.
Review 15:It is a cozy little place to stay and the rates are reasonable. You can't hear the traffic either. I really enjoyed my stay.
Review 16:Bedspread, and chairs had burn marks. Which I am sure will be be taken care of in time.
Review 17:Alec at the desk was helpful in providing us with directions to several locations that we inquired about. He provided us with excellent customer service. Our room was clean, and did not have the "old" hotel order. Thank you!
Review 18:Small, family-owned property. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The property is dated (1970's), but everything worked well. Nice central location, great value.
Review 19:The toilet was small and too low to use for elder couple. No phone in room. Curbs outside room for car parking dangerous in bad weather.
Review 20:Beds and size of room. Clean.
Review 21:The light switch to the right of the entryway should turn a room light on. It did not.
Review 22:Most everything I needed was in a very logical place. Very efficient use of space.
Review 23:I was told by the fd that they need to call their boss tote me stay as I was from "too close" and they aren't supposed to let anyone within a certain distance stay there. I wanted to cl my res, but was uncertain if I would be refunded.
Review 24:You could tell the mntnc man truly liked their property...great initial impression
Review 25:It's a great place for the price. Clean and very comfortable. We've stayed a number of times this year, and like it alot. Its a no frills, quaint motel.
Review 26:Poor lighting in room, lack of electrical receptacles. Bring your own extension cords if you travel with electronic devices.HVAC unit had clean filter warning light flashing. I cleaned the filter, but it did not abate the warning sign.
Review 27:Close to town, comfortable bed.
Review 28:Housekeeping didn't replace coffee, smokers on the balcony next to room, housekeeping didnt clean up spilled food outside our door from other guests.Booking.com did not confirm reservation with adobe inn....luckily they had one room available....the guy behind me wasn't so lucky
Review 29:Price, corner room was very quiet, windows that opened, hot water and good shower head
Review 30:it was an awesome hotel for the right price good location from center of town and close to the bike trail and very peaceful area I will be returning next summer -- David Torres NYC --
Review 31:Had a angry guest yelled Outside, knocking in the office door all night all due to not being able to get into his room. He was so upset yelling due to office staff not being helpful and taking care of the situation.
Review 32:The close location to downtown area.
Review 33:No hot water in shower. A/C controls malfunctioned so it was cold; night staff didn't know how to help. No phone in room though was supposed to be there. Staff too inexperienced; AM male youth didn't care. Trying to charge me for what I don't owe. Seemed safe, but they need to do "spring housekeeping" more often.
Review 34:The blanket was questionably clean. The shower water pressure was a little weak. Couldn't adjust the hot cold much. if my hubby bushed his teeth while I was showering ouch!
Review 35:The bed was comfortable not hard not too soft or saggy. The room was clean smelled nice and was quiet. The front desk in The morning and eventing both were really nice.
Review 36:The motel is small and old. The bathroom fixtures are very outdated, the toilet shower room is very small, the sink and mirror are in the sleeping area and there is no radio or phone. The parking is first come-first served. There are more rooms than spaces.
Review 37:The price for the room was fair due to Labor Day weekend and a large motor cycle rally.
Review 38:the air conditionning was too hight when we arrived and we don't like the smell of the bedroom (like cigarette even if the bedroom was non smoking)
Review 39:Good bed
Review 40:The new guy at the front desk OMG... I ask for a iron and ironing board he looked very confused said no one had ever ask for that before...Anyhow he had the nerve to tell me to please bring it back he wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't returned...I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said to him do you actually think I would take this lol that's an insult he didn't even apologize....Where Do You Get These Ignorant People.......
Review 41:All was well but... after the insult!!! it all went down hill obtw didn't use the stinking iron and ironing board...Even didn't get upset when the other young gentlemen at the front desk couldn't honor my internet price he tried fixing it but I didn't have time to wait for him to try to get it resolved so I swallowed the extra $7 bucks he charged us at least he tried.....
Review 42:The bed was so uncomfortable. ..I woke up with a back ache and the pillows were very flat. The breakfast was terrible. Would never stay there again.
Review 43:Close to downtown Durango
Review 44:No real bad experience, but it seemed as if everything was on the verge of being neglected.
Review 45:The Adobe Inn was convenient to town and to the railroad depot.
Review 46:I guess the cleaning could use some improvement, or maybe is just the old furniture that looks dirty. Very small breakfast even for a motel
Review 47:Very nice staff There's a laundry
Review 48:We did not have a bad experience at all. The reason the location is a little problem is that there is a lot of street noise, but the up-side is convenience of access and closeness to downtown.
Review 49:Lots of room, comfortable and clean, easy access.
Review 50:The small window at the bathroom sink had no curtain, so anyone could see inside the room.
Review 51:I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the room.
Review 52:Poor service at front desk - ignored for several minutes while desk clerk talked on the phone. Traffic noise is bad. Room was not very clean.
Review 53:It was the cheapest I could find.
Review 54:Continental breakfast was WEAK. It sounded like an elephant was lumbering about in the room above mine THE WHOLE WEEK STAY.
Review 55:Great location and helpful staff.
Review 56:There is no blind/curtain on the window next to the bathroom sink. To protect our privacy, particularly at night, we had to hang a towel. A blind or curtain needs to be put up.
Review 57:It was affordable and quiet.
Review 58:My only minor problem is the height of the bed. I am short & have a little trouble when I have to 'climb' into a bed! But that was not the hotel's fault! There is coffee in the office in the mornings with Danish rolls. No breakfast.
Review 59:we had the king room & it was very comfortable, with large vanity area, separate toilet & tub area. Also had a table with 4 chairs, refrigerator & microwave. There was a small love couch that I think made into a single bed, if needed. The bed was comfortable. We had 3 very enjoyable days at this hotel. The clerk when we checked in was extremely nice, friendly & helpful.
Review 60:Asked for ground floor, didn't get it. Clerk tried to put us in a unit on ground floor but it was all ready occupied. back to 2nd floor Sheets on bed wouldn't stay put With every move off comes sheet. On second day stay did get ground floor but couldn't get AC to work and no curtain on bathroom window .
Review 61:close to train desk clerk by name of River did make things right on 2nd night.
Review 62:I was concerned that our bed was not being changed but just made. For the first day our mirror wasn't cleaned. The AC didn't work when we first got there. After they got it working someone put it on 56 and it was cold when we came back.
Review 63:Location was nice.
Review 64:tv very small, lite bulb in shower was a cfl bulb which took a while to lite up. Spend the money switch to an LED bulb. Pillows were awful. The size of a postage stamp & as thick as a potatoe chip. Other motels are now offering 4 pillows, 2 firm, 2 soft. I have a bad neck & need firm as do many older folks.
Review 65:Size of room
Review 66:I don't mind old furnishings as long as they are well kept. Adobe Inn is old, yes, but our room was super clean with everything in working order. Very hot water was a plus.
Review 67:We are non-smokers and had to take a smoking room. It did smell like stale tobacco.
Review 68:Everyoen was kind, the room was kept clean, the location was excelent for us.
Review 69:WiFi was very inconsistent and was pretty slow when it did work. The main light in my room didn't work, but there were other lights. There weren't enough parking spaces for everyone, so on one night I had to park in the street when I got back late.
Review 70:I am happy with the quality of the room for the price. Staff was very nice and everything worked well enough for me. The only complaints I have are rather minuscule in relation to the room pricing.
Review 71:We thought there was a pool and there wasn't. Items were taken from our room during the day when weren't there.
Review 72:It was clean and nice. Kids had fun in hot tub. Check in was easy.
Review 73:Front desk person had torn and dirty clothing. Sheets were not clean (spots on sheets). Coffee maker did not work properly. Ants in bathroom. Windows did not lock properly. Bathroom needed repairs on walls.
Review 74:The bed was very uncomfortable, the light in the bathroom was so dark, it was hard to see, air conditioner was very noisy and didn't work well..
Review 75:Clean, painted nicely, refrigerator and microwave available, on trolley line so easy to get into town, location was good, day staff was very friendly and helpful
Review 76:Told me there was no room when I had paid reservation 3 weeks in advance. Sent us to the wrong room. 2 Wi Fi's to pick from but Wi Fi didn't work, too weak. They couldn't explain it and we had to live with it. Left office lobby unattended, new arrivals had no one to check in with. Real mess.
Review 77:Convenient location
Review 78:The bedspread appeared soiled and the window in the bathroom did not appear safe, was large enough for a person to crawl through and did not have a screen. the lock also did not appear safe.
Review 79:The morning we checked out the staff came to our room twice before checkout time to remind us that checkout time was 11am. We knew what time checkout was and most places have the same checkout time. It was quite annoying to be bothered so frequently when we were trying to pack up and leave.
Review 80:Good location, close to town.
Review 81:Danish in plastic for breakfast- not too many although I saw someone take quite a few to their room; a little bit of street noise but location was good
Review 82:Staff- very nice and helpful- suggested good restaurants and assisted with directions
Review 83:No window covering on window (by sink in the back of the room)
Review 84:Parking close to room. Beautiful flowers around the rooms. Chairs outside the rooms to sit and relax.
Review 85:When we arrived at the front desk, a disgruntled guest was arguing with the front desk staff. Apparently something had gone awry with their reservation and they were demanding that they get their money back. He had no access to the supervisor and so had no authority to do anything. He handled it well but I think it unwise and unfair to place front line staff in situations where they are powerless to make decisions that impact customer satisfaction.
Review 86:Microwave and refrigerator in room, table
Review 87:My room had a very old, barely functional air conditioner in a hot room on a hot day.
Review 88:If you are looking for an inexpensive motel room this is it. Its clean and convenient but no amenities.
Review 89:Breakfast ending a bit too early for some vacationers and not really a full continental breakfast or full breakfast as we experienced during the rest of our trip.
Review 90:The room was clean and convenient. Staff was friendly and informative.
Review 91:Breakfast was a rather perfunctory affair. The place is looking rather tired (though not grubby).
Review 92:Staff were friendly and helpful. It's well set up for more active types, with washing facilities for clothes and bikes. A regular trolley service stops outside to take visitors the 15+ blocks into downtown Durango.
Review 93:We were extremely comfortable staying here. The rooms were great, the staff was very helpful and would come back to this motel next time we are in Durango.
Review 94:Old 1960s motel trying to be updated. New paint job is nice, but can't hide what the Inn really is. Breakfast Danish is in wrapper, and no coffee in room.
Review 95:PRICE - this is an expensive little town, so this was fine for one night for the price. Easy to find, on shuttle route, near river walk.
Review 96:the room was dirty the cur tens where torn from the windows and the furniture was sticky and the fixtures broken.
Review 97:Not much I would have changed hotel's if there had bean a place that had a room that night.
Review 98:No fuss, no frills, but good price, easy location to downtown. Nice young man at reception desk, very polite. I enjoyed the flowers on the property too!
Review 99:Non-smoking Room smelled of stale smoke; toilet didn't flush well and continued to run; doors were difficult to open and close; wifi did not work in our room
Review 100:Location
Review 101:Did not have a bad experience at all.
Review 102:The free trolley which stopped frequently as locations I wanted to visit picked up just across the street and delivered me back just a few feet from the Hotel.
Review 103:Staff was inexperienced. There was a mix-up and confusion when checking in with one staff person; may have been charged double because of this confusion.
Review 104:Location for the price.
Review 105:We stayed many places on our week long trip. This was the favorite of all 4 of us! I liked that it was clean, my husband and I liked the location, my kids liked that it was spacious and had a clean tub for them to play in.
Review 106:We would open our windows at night when it cooled off and enjoy the fresh air because we had cross ventilation from the dressing area window through to the bedroom window.
Review 107:A little rusty, the window in the bathroom area didn't close completely even though we were on the first floor, there were no curtains on that bathroom window as well. The door to the bathroom itself could hardly open because it bumped into the toilet.
Review 108:Price is good, it was hard to find something cheaper on a day notice.
Review 109:A/C unit was having issues for my friend and no one is around to help after 10:00 pm. I would not go back.
Review 110:They had a bucket out to wash down the motorcycles
Review 111:I was a little apprehensive about staying here as there were many mixed reviews online. I found the staff very pleasant, the room was dated but it was super clean. It had nice AC and the room was a non smoking room with no odors. I just like a clean well kept place when staying at hotels. This place did that quite well and was much more affordable than the other hotels around.
Review 112:The cable went out on us a couple of times, but came back on within a few minutes. The Wifi was hard to connect to, so mostly we just didn't bother with it.
Review 113:Definitely a great spot in downtown Durango. Less than a 5 minute drive to the shops and restaurants. The room was clean, and the beds were firm but comfortable.
Review 114:The ice machine, washer & dryer didn't work the best, just ok.
Review 115:Clean rooms, good coffee, friendly staff, off street parking & had a bucket & tags ready for us to wash our motorcycle.
Review 116:We had our room key taped to the outside office door with my name on the envelope. Felt this wasn't safe. Office staff was called and told we were running late and they said they were leaving early and would tape key to door.
Review 117:The friggin' trains working all night long. Couldn't get a good night's sleep. The property generally was pretty tawdry. Maybe Gallup was a booming town at one time, and judging by the number of motels on the Highway 66 strip it probably was, but that was a by-gone era. Everything on that strip is run down and shabby.
Review 118:It was inexpensive
Review 119:No coffee maker in the room.
Review 120:The motel is in walking distance from many of the tourist attractions. We enjoyed walking and felt it was a very healthy visit.
Review 121:Clerk was virtually comatose, took forever, couldn't figure anything out, but gave me FOUR printouts. No cold water in sink, no reading lamp on one side of bed, 1 glass for 2 people, not enough parking in lot for all guests - all for way too much money. This place is a joke.
Review 122:Nothing.
Review 123:Let's see, where to start? No in room coffee and lobby doesn't open til 7 AM. The most uncomfortable chairs ever! Couldn't even sit in them due to the support bar under the seat! Did I mention no coffee?!!
Review 124:Comfortable bed
Review 125:Would have liked a better breakfast offering. Sweet Rolls were it. Coffee was very good and fresh.
Review 126:Location was very convenient for driving and for the Durango Trolley to Downtown. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cost was good for Durango as it is an expensive place to stay.
Review 127:Staff was friendly and helpful. Very basic room but clean and firm bed. Microwave & small refrig in room. Coffee and pastries in office. Iron and hair dryers per request. On free town shuttle route. Inexpensive.
Review 128:Very slow wifi Road noise - right on Hwy 550 No nutrition in the free breakfast Unsealed, single paned windows probably reduce comfort in Summer and Winter New towels every day - wasteful
Review 129:Reasonable price on a holiday weekend Comfortable bed Kept clean daily
Review 130:The wifi was very unreliable and weak. A fridge in the room would have been nice (ice is available at no charge).
Review 131:A pleasant, short 10-15 minute walk to town; comfortable room.
Review 132:2 guests, 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 2 wash clothes. Obvious smoke smell. No refrig, no hair dryer, no coffee in room. Not much to like
Review 133:After complaint, did move to better room
Review 134:When we arrived I was surprised by the office being closed for lunch. The schedule was not posted but it lunch was from 6 to 7 pm. Office closed at 11:00. Reopened at 7:30. Not a big problem, we just went and ate dinner and returned after their lunch. Just be prepared. Also only one wash cloth and hand towel left in the room each evening. A trip to the desk will get you additional linens. One of the staff said this was policy of the owner. Dumb policy.
Review 135:Older motel. Appears to been updated recently, The room I had was a little small, what you would expect from a older motel. Worked well for us as we were out sightseeing every day.
