Reviews for Rogue Valley Inn

Review 1:That it falsely stated on the website that this hotel was pet friendly but, once i got to the counter to find out otherwise. Seeing that this was The only reason i booked there. Frustrating, but the counter person let me stay with my pet for a $5 charge.

Review 2:Pretty quiet for the most part (it was NYE)

Review 3:You have to stand outside and ring a bell to get into main office. No one answered, after calling several times a rude gentle let us in. The room was terrible, dirty mirrors, dust on everything, pee on the toilet seat, and mold growing in shower. When I brought these issues up with front desk nothing was done to nothing was done to compensate my wife and I. Will never stay in this low level Establishment Ever again...

Review 4:The location, right in the middle of town.

Review 5:loved the comfortable bed, the helpful friendly staff, cleanliness, instant, strong hot shower, cozy, well stocked breakfast room, modest price for great value

Review 6:reserved a nonsmoking king bed room. ended up with 2 f/q room with a nonsmoking sign on door but reeked of smoke. pretty run down.

Review 7:front desk guy was very friendly. we showed up 10 mins after booking reservation. it was late but he was accomodating.

Review 8:The room needed a more thorough cleaning especially the bathroom. Seemed like there was a party going on abve me and next to me. Didn't sleep well

Review 9:Room was close to parking. The price was right.

Review 10:do NOT let the area scare you..management is very aware of surroundings.

Review 11:Management & Family make this lodging 100% and are a highlight ! Staff VERY hospitable and efficient. Rooms spacious, linens high quality, bathroom facility cleanliness superb. Microwave and Refrigerator in room a plus. We have stayed at higher end lodging and did not come close to our overall satisfaction and security.

Review 12:The staff here are really fantastic! Twice I have stayed here now with my boyfriend and I have no complaints at all. The rooms are a great size, there is ample storage and table space and even a comfy chair with a footstool (in the king room). Wi-fi signal is limited, but that's not a huge issue for me. Plenty of parking and the downtown location puts you close to everything you would need. Granted, it's not a brand new, clinical, new build chain hotel with millionaire clientele and all the mod-cons, but for the price it's perfect. I'll definitely be staying again :)

Review 13:shower stall without getting in tub. sink was very nice but calking around shower was terrible. light by one side of bed did not work. person tending to breakfast did not look very nice but he was nice.

Review 14:The internet speeds are quite horrible. I'm usually able to at least watch Netflix, which can detect your speed and stream a low-res feed, but even that was too much and required constant buffering. It's slightly better at 5am and 1pm. The fridge in the first room I stayed in froze all of my food. Went to make a sandwich and had to wait two hours for the deli meat I bought to thaw out.

Review 15:Staff was attentive and handled all issues immediately. Very friendly and polite. The room had a fridge, microwave and strong air conditioner. Bathrooms were very clean.

Review 16:The shouting all night in the room next to us. I think I slept 2 hours, woke my boyfriend up at 4am and told him we had to go.

Review 17:The lady at the front desk was really nice and the motel was affordable

Review 18:Somewhat confusing getting to location from highway exit (one way streets). Fire alarm went off from someone smoking in their room. Seemed like a very transient location and many folks renting for 'long-term'.

Review 19:Good value, close to highway, helpful staff.

Review 20:Bed uncomfortable, ants in room, bathroom remodel very poor, moldy, smelled.the leg holding up the sink bowl was not attached. The breakfast was served from large community use of cream cheese, bread, fruit bowl left uncovered in fridge and dried out. Lots of room for cross contamination with other guests and no controls in place to protect.

Review 21:The people were nice.

Review 22:We had to ask for extra towels 3 times before we got any. An employee came up to my husband DEMANDING to know who he was and what room he was staying in. The walls are thin so we could hear people coming back at 2 am. Right outside our room was the Pepsi vending machine so all night the light from that was shining into our room.

Review 23:Some of the people that live in the motel have cute dogs.

Review 24:Drunks and tweekers all over area. This is not the best area of town, but Management seems to control the people in motel.

Review 25:Room very good deal for the money, stayed in a Motel 6 the night before and this way better facilities.

Review 26:Not the greatest part of town. A lot foot traffic.

Review 27:Of all our experiences of our 2 week long trip this hotel and their staff were our favorite among the 5 hotels. The rooms are more than fairly priced for what you get. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. lady who checked us in even went as far as going into our room before us to make sure there were no discrepancies and accommodating a 1st floor request for us since we had tons of luggage. Super friendly and personable staff. Made us feel comfortable right away. Also very pet friendly and the rooms don't stink like other hotels who allow animals. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Review 28:Some rooms (mine and I saw another guy who came to say the same to the manager) have strong smell of smoking, that strong that you almost cannot sleep. One facility is full of some gansta-like guys with tattoos and corresponding language, you almost feel that you are in ghetto. I can't find anything in their breakfast (and I'm not too picky in this). Pool is bullsh!t.

Review 29:Manager and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Review 30:I had ask for a down stairs room - didn't get it. The walls were so thin that I could hear the TV and talk which went on all night. The place wasn't that clean and a lot of unsavory people all around the place. Didn't eat the breakfast because I was afraid to eat there.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:The motel seemed to be filled with a group of undesirables that were living there, rather than respectable people just spending the night. Many were camped outside their doors smoking and drinking on furniture they had moved outside the room.

Review 33:They have monthly clients that have been there for years and a few did get into shouting matches on 2 on the nights. Did scare my wife.

Review 34:Everyone were friendly and very helpful.

Review 35:This isn't a complaint, but we noticed that it was a very active place when we arrived around 10pm. It wasn't noisy, just busy.

Review 36:We were surprised at how well-kept everything was, given the ridiculously low price we got. It's a standard motel with no frills (though I did like that there were three towels and washcloths instead of two) but the staff was helpful and friendly. It was as if they were waiting for us to arrive. I had a small overcharge on my bill and they took care of it with no questions and were friendly about it. I was pleased with the service and the room.

Review 37:Staff- breakfast- pool- room- everything exceeded expectations. Run by a lady who is determined to make the motel great, she is a force to be reckoned with and commands respect and admiration from staff and guests alike. I liked it so much I stayed an extra night!

Review 38:This motel is apparently used for homeless people with housing vouchers. Many were permanent residents there, which invoked a feeling of not being safe.

Review 39:Room was very clean. Door had a total of 4 locks on it.

Review 40:Walls are paper thin. I could hear everyone outside and inside and they leaf blow very loudly by 9am in front of all the rooms to wake everyone up bright and early. I would never ever stay there again.

Review 41:The hotel seemed safe.

Review 42:Non smoking rooms really smelled horrible, Sheets had stains, staircase couple of boards loose unsafe. You get what you pay for. Will not stay there again.

Review 43:Clean pool, parking lot clean and friendly staff.

Review 44:Wifi was non-existent; "too many people on at the same time" was the answer from staff that night.

Review 45:It was clean; A/C was cold; beds were comfy. Staff were pleasant. Price was right. What more do you need when pit-stopping through town to the coast?

Review 46:The breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room was adequate.

Review 47:A/C was terribly noisy and the closing doors of other guest rooms were quite loud.

Review 48:The policy of the motel not to allow guests to take breakfast provided by the motel to their rooms. This is the only complaint on an otherwise pleasant stay at the motel.

Review 49:The rooms and bathrooms have recently been remodeled which are really nice. It makes you feel like you are staying in a hotel and not in a motel. The person at the front desk, when I checked in, was very nice and accommodating.

Review 50:Lady checked me in was rude, alot of traffic in and out of the hotel. I think a huge percent were ppl that lived there. My neighbors upstairs were up all night stomping and vacuuming every night.

Review 51:Bed was comfortable, air condition worked great, one staff member was super nice.

Review 52:When I am on the road for hours and many miles it is important to come to a place that is friendly, helpful and understanding. The ownership and all the staff are all that. The room is clean comfortable and well kept. More for your money in comparison to motels of lesser comfort and room. Compared to let's say Motel 6, more comfort and space for the same or similar money.

Review 53:This place had a definite "long-term-tenant" feel about it.There was a sign-in for "guests" of people staying there, and these guests had to sign out by 9. We arrived at about 6:20, andshe told us she was about to give our room away if we didn't comesoon. It was loud in the parking lot all night. We left at 5:50 thenext morning.

Review 54:Arrived 10:30pm, door wide open. They claim carpet was just cleaned and drying. Smelt like urine. Second room still smelt of urine. AC broken, door lock broken, dirty, ants, toilet seat had "sanitary seal" but when removed seat was covered in urine. Staff was not nice or helpful. People outside yelling all night, doors slamming, people lingering, did not feel safe to sleep. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!

Review 55:Leaving

Review 56:Comforter filthy. Dried food on it and smelled as though it was never cleaned. I went to use the coffee pot there was dried blood on the top glass pitcher.

Review 57:I was able to stay overnight with my pets

Review 58:Staff was helpful and friendly. A/C didn't work in one of our rooms, but they changed us around so both rooms had good A/C. My granddaughter loved the pool. Price was very good.

Review 59:What I could gather from other the other residents, we all had the same problem: no air-conditioning. The air-conditioners in each rooms of the people I spoke to had broken air conditioners. When the temperature is over 100 during the day and your room is warmer than it is outside your comfort Zone drops quickly. The breakfast was very good, staff was nice, pool water was cold and refreshing. NICE!

Review 60:The pool and the staff was very understanding.

Review 61:It was noisy from others staying there. The walls are rather thin. It is on a busy, main street so there was lots of traffic. The place could use some updating. WiFi only ok, it went out several times with an error message. Breakfast was not impressive. Probably would not go back.

Review 62:The location was good for me. The air conditioning worked but was noisy, It was very hot when I was there. The necessities were there. Staff at front desk ok.

Review 63:Didn't like the people staying in room next going in and out of room slamming door from 9pmto 12 am and the door when they opened it dragged and vibrated my whole room so didn't get much sleep

Review 64:Has a few "Residenace" sitting around the exterior smoking.

Review 65:Signs were posted to Excuse Remodel Construction. We were given a remodeled room and we were suprised the decor, style and comfort of the room. Very clean, no smells, and comfortable.

Review 66:The room had a musty-smoky smell, not horrible, but noticable. The area is a run down part of Medford. We asked for a late check out, the host gave a begrudging "about 30mins" then at 40mins they started knocking repeatedly saying you need to get out now.. didn't make us feel very good

Review 67:The linens were clean and the room, all room fixtures were newer , looked nice. Had a microwave and a fridge.

Review 68:I didn't like worrying about if the bed was made clean or not. The sheets were terribly wrinkled, so I wondered. I didn't like having to go to the office when I was so tired to work online as a teacher. I didn't like seeing through the crack in the front door to the outside world and wondering if I was safe.

Review 69:After six hours of driving, it was good to stop.

Review 70:Step outside, and expect a recovering drug addict or ex-con to be staring, smoking, chillin' with the fellas. While I was there, a police narcotics squad showed up to investigate one of the neighbors. Medford suffers from an epidemic of drug abuse, and this motel is very much in the center of that struggle.

Review 71:Once inside the room, with the deadbolts latched, the room interior is actually very nice.

Review 72:They didn't have much room for pets to "take care of their business."

Review 73:The room was nice and very clean. You could walk to several different places to dine.

Review 74:Housekeeping staff seems overworked and doesn't always make it to service your room. Wish they had smoking rooms, bath tubs. Crowd seems rough, but there were no problems and people were friendly. Outside looks rough but it is not reflected inside.

Review 75:The inside of the rooms are recently updated, spacious and quite comfortable. Well equipped. Good free parking. Good Air Conditioning, Heating and Hot Water. Large shower. Relatively quiet for such a large motel. Nice sheets & pillow cases, towels were not rough.

Review 76:A/C did not work! Gap in door when closed! Painted over mold! Drug addicts everywhere! Wifi broken! Stairs falling apart! This place needs to be condemned and torn down! Take off of Booking.com now!

Review 77:Nothing to like!

Review 78:The AC didn't work and the room smelled like stale smoke and urine. I left in the morning to go to a doctors appointment and when I came back they were doing a massive cleaning for bedbugs. I packed my things and left then. But before I could get my refund for the following night the woman at the front desk was so demeaning and rude to me and fought to not give me my refund... We'll see what my bank statement says. I would caution anyone from staying here.

Review 79:The t.v. remote didn't work very well.Probably just needed new batteries

Review 80:I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was for the price we paid. The manager was very accommodating.

Review 81:Some of the guests kind of undesirable types.

Review 82:The property itself was in a fair location not the best part of town, not the worst. That being said the room had been remodeled, bed very comfortable. We did not have breakfast there so did not rate it.

Review 83:stay.Just not used to permant residents staying in motel.

Review 84:When we pulled into the parking lot there were several people wondering around. They rent by the week or month. All were clean and minded their p's and w's. As it turned out it was very quiet and we had a great stay.

Review 85:White bedspread and not a full sheet. Continental breakfast sucked.

Review 86:Clean place. Friendly Staff. Comfy bed. Not much for the "Continental Breakfast". Overall good for an overnight stay.

Review 87:The only bad thing I can think of is that since I arrived so late, I could not find the ice machine. When I checked out the next afternoon, the owner went to a backroom to get me ice.

Review 88:Very friendly and accommodating family owned Motel. I stopped in at the Motel 6 down the road, they had no rooms available, and someone referred me to the Rogue Valley Inn. They had a room, and could even accommodate my U-Haul and trailer I was driving. I checked in @ about 1:00 a.m. Although check-out was noon, the owner said I could just stay until I was rested and ready to leave.

Review 89:The clerk that recieved us has just had a cigarette and the smokey odor wasn't inviting at all. While trying to rest, there was a car turned on in the parking lot for a long time whose engine noise kept us from falling asleep. After a while it seemed that it was leaving but instead would make a round in the property and return right back.

Review 90:We got a clean room at affordable price.

Review 91:Don't the the surrounding environment scare you off

Review 92:The room was spacious and very comfortable. The up most positive asset are the owners. Owners personally welcomed us,made certain of our comfort and needs.

Review 93:Price and location. Decent continental breakfast considering the price of lodging. Free w-fi and outlets located on desktop lamp, which allowed for easy plug in of laptop and cell phone.

Review 94:Need wifi password in room and tv remote. No bathtu B

Review 95:The location was great as my son doesn't drive and he could walk to mall and cinema and his friends could find the hotel to pick him up

Review 96:Very clean sheets, very clean towels, excellent friendly service of staff / owners! Free Breakfast, free wifi (good enough for getting email and a little bit but not powerful enough to pull in a netflix movie...could be improved perhaps?) - Jim -

Review 97:Quite a few "live ins" just hanging around outside, a little noisy (kids playing around) for a while but all was quiet by 9 pm.

Review 98:Ongoing remodel but our room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked. Staff was very accommodating and pet friendly. We were just passing through so the value was excellent.

Review 99:The management was really friendly trying to accommodate our needs . They are now renovating the place and once done i am sure it would be a great place .

Review 100:A lot of undesireable people hanging around outside in groups. Weekly rates for the poorer people. Glad they had a place to stay but it should have been noted under description.

Review 101:The bed was ok and the towels were good.

Review 102:Picture was not from hotel website because they do not have one. They do not know where the picture came from and it is not representitive of the rooms. Shady part of town.

Review 103:The carpet was gross. Kids were playing on the floor and we filthy from the dirty carpet. Looked like there were some long term people living there and just seemed sketchy.

Review 104:There was no ice machine and if we had not ask when we did the office was going to be closed and we would not have been able to get any ice. The hair dryer did not work and the plug in the bathroom was broken.

Review 105:Lot of noise. I stayed two nights and both nights there were a lot of noise. People talking outside, cell phones ringing. The air conditioning unit was loud and you could see daylight around the unit.

Review 106:I thought the room was clean and comfortable.

Review 107:It's not in the most beautiful part of town and it's on a busy street.

Review 108:I liked that the room was very clean and bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

Review 109:There wasn't anything I didn't like!

Review 110:Very welcoming staff! They all felt like good friends I hadn't seenfor a while & all were also very friendly & helpful! The roomfelt like you were in a fancier hotel, it was decorated so nice &everything in the room & bathroom was spotless! The bed wasdefinitely one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! Thisplace seems to be in a kinda shady neighborhood, but don't judge abook by its cover!! Once you walk into the office, you will see you madethe right choice! Oh, did I mention how awesome the breakfast is?!! Thisis our "go to place" from now on when we come to Medford! Wellworth the money! !

Review 111:Didn't really know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the room was a bit outdated but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. The parking right in front of our room was excellent as we had to unload 3 small children and bags rather late in the evening. Upon arrival I was greeted by a warm smile and was checked in quickly.

Review 112:Many of the resedents were long term semi homeless people. The room did not look at all like the picture. We stayed for 6 days and we had to be super quiet as there was a long term tenant below us that complained if any of our kids made noise as she "had to wake up at 2am to go to work".

Review 113:It was inexpensive and it had a pool.

Review 114:The pool was out of service the four days that we stayed. That is why I rented the room for my grand child visiting had to find a pool somewhere else to go.I was told I would get a partial refund but did not get one.The refrigerator froze all my food even on the lowest temp. Ruined most of my food. Toilets don't flush right slow to flush have to flush several times. No place to let dogs pottie had to go walk a block to let them pottie.

Review 115:Staff was nice, bed was comfortable. Quiet

Review 116:Our daughter was excited about the pictures of the pool, however, it was so dirty and black I wouldn't allow her to swim in it for fear of cathing some sickness. A staff member/cleaner even recommend she not swim. Put up notices stating pool is out of service. We would've booked somewhere else if this was known.

Review 117:The location was pretty bad, and there are a lot of shady people around (and we've stayed at some pretty shady motels). At one point early in the evening, I accidentally banged my head on the headboard. The guy in the room next to us starting banging on the wall and screaming angrily like a maniac (although to the motel's credit, the walls were thick enough that we couldn't understand him). Anyway, we didn't sleep much after that because frankly it was pretty terrifying thinking that turning over in my sleep the wrong way might provoke someone. Also, the motel is in some stage of renovation, where if you look close enough, you'll wonder "hmm has that been renovated or is the renovation still to come?" and you'll have a feeling it's the former. Granted, it's not too bad, but some of the work has clearly been shoddy. We didn't have a peep hole and the A/C unit didn't really fit in the frame. There is just too much meth in Medford for things to feel "right." If you have to stay in Medford, I recommend a brand name hotel.

Review 118:The bed was comfortable, and the room was actually pretty decent. The staff also seemed nice if a little inattentive. The breakfast was pretty good for what it was too (cereal and stuff).

Review 119:We found a dog ball, gloves, and even a cough drop wrapped up in the comforter. It is obviously not thoroughly cleaned. We did not use the pool because it looked gross. It is also significantly smaller than the photos make it look.

Review 120:The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious.

Review 121:Rooms are clean, but the fixtures were a bit dated. I didn't have a remote for my TV.

Review 122:The Rogue Valley Inn's staff was nice & the location was convenient to I-5. The bed was comfortable & with the air on the room was pretty quiet.

Review 123:The carpet seemed really dirty and crusty. the owner gave me a hard time when taking a granola bar from the "continental breakfast" which is really not even one to be honest, he embarassed me and made me feel bad for taking something as I checked out. Not cool.

Review 124:The price was right and the beds were comfy.

Review 125:Above

Review 126:Clean room besides hole where air conditioning was cut sloppy in wall. Good price but it's a live in motel too. Pool was cold. Never figured out what time breakfast was till it was too late. Ok if u need a cheap motel.

Review 127:dirty towels left in the room when we arrived. refrigerater was not clean. rug was not vacumed very good. my feet were dirty after walking on the rug barefoot. We think the rug needs shampooed. no fox tv station! husband was very unhappy! Not enough tv stations.

Review 128:bed was comfortable.air conditioner worked. bedding seemed clean.

Review 129:Rogue Valley Inn is 100% misleading. The pictures online are not a good representation of this Inn. The rooms were not very clean, the tv didn't work, my towel had a black smudge on it, and the hotel as a whole wa a dump. If you think you are getting a decent hotel, you are not. Would not recommend to anyone.

Review 130:Nothing important enough to mention.

Review 131:Everyone working there was extremely friendly. Beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed the stay so much that I stayed again on my way back from a trip up to Washington. When the renovations are done, it's going to be a very nice place.
