Reviews for Grand Hyatt Denver
Review 1:The only minor complaint was that the breakfast that was included for an additional fee did not have hot food but the food provided was really good.
Review 2:The view was beautiful. They hired a gentleman to sing/play guitar in the lobby area that was fantastic. It was a very relaxing stay.
Review 3:Everything was truly perfect but if I tip a bellboy $10 I would just hope he would be so kind to fill the ice bucket. Pretty simple and not a huge deal, but it would've been nice as I Was in a hurry.
Review 4:Great staff, clean and fresh rooms, modern decor, great food.
Review 5:The 0.2 miles from destination was as a crow flies not street wise which was a bit disappointing. And There was only a view if you looked through buildings of the mountains.
Review 6:The room was great. And when I needed anything done, it was done right away. Very friendly and fast staff.
Review 7:The windows in the building are old and you definitely can hear everything on the street even at the 25th floor. Did not get the sleep that I was hoping for.
Review 8:Loved the hospitality at check in; made my young son happy by letting him pick something out of the "treasure chest". The atmosphere was great.
Review 9:Expected a lot nicer room for the money. Bed was like sleeping on a brick. Have stayed at a lot nicer hotel for a lot less money !!! Room felt very outdated!!!
Review 10:Location
Review 11:I won't say it was bad, but after the first night I had to go and ask for a breakfast menu to hang out. We used the in room coffee and first day only 1 reg coffee. Next day no replacements of the sugar packages. It's the little things that add up.
Review 12:It was close to where we wanted to be.
Review 13:Too much to explain. The Grand Hyatt has taken enough of my time and money. Roy Adair.
Review 14:The only enjoyable aspect of this experiance was that it was quiet.
Review 15:Room wasn't clean at 4:39 p.m and they wouldn't give me another room. After complaining mgr came out and was rude and got me into another room . Refrigerator didn't work and ice machine broken on my floor. For the money it was not a good experience!
Review 16:The plunger on my bathroom sink drain wouldn't open the morning I checked out, so I had to leave a sink full of water for housekeeping to figure out.
Review 17:Location is very good for my own purposes. Low rate. Rooms have modern décor.
Review 18:The breakfast buffet was understaffed. But our expectations were not that high so it was tolerated.
Review 19:The indoor pool was not very crowded and the workout facility was clean.
Review 20:The key cards didn't always work when using the elevator
Review 21:The convenience of the hotel was wonderful the scenery outside our window was beautiful. Staff was very courteous
Review 22:the toilet did not fill up with water very fast and flushing the toilet became an issue. Was told it was going to be looked at but we had left and when we came back it didn't appear to have been taken care of.
Review 23:It was a nice view, convenient to everything. Room was very comfortable and everyone was very friendly.
Review 24:Exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, refrigerator did not work, and requested extra bedding never got delivered.Charge of $37 for parking a bit much.
Review 25:Bed was good, breakfast was great, but was not told that the rate we had was for 2 people, and was to be charged for three children that we had listed to be with us. The hotel did comp us the breakfast for the 3 children to compensate for the items listed in other box.
Review 26:We forgot to put a time on our breakfast order and did not realized it. I wish someone would have called to ask. We never did get breakfast that morning.
Review 27:Staff was awesome. Great customer service!
Review 28:The room was to close to the elevator shaft..we herd the elevator all night long to noisy.
Review 29:The room was extremely nice, bed was comfortable, view was ok.
Review 30:Everything was excellent but we had a bad smell in our room upon arrival. Unfortunately there wasn't a room of the same standard to move into. We moved the next night because the smell couldn't be removed by the staff. The staff were excellent.
Review 31:Great location. Stayed during the MLS All Star Game. Lo and behold the players and staff stayed there too. Amazing experience. Friendly open lobby with bar and live music both nights.
Review 32:Parking fee
Review 33:Very clean, bathrooms were very nice with nice finishes, beds were clean and comfortable. Location is perfect.Cocktail bar made refreshing cocktails with fresh fruit and veggies.
Review 34:I had a King room that was right across from the staff elevator and the ice machine. The elevators were really noisy and the ice machine sounded like there was a jack hammer in the street. Every night around 11 PM it sounded like a group of loud motorcyclists were leaving the premises.
Review 35:It was close to where I wanted to be and within walking distance.
Review 36:Room not available on arrival Failed to honor request to deliver baggage to room when available Thought I was someone else when phoned $4.50 for water to brew coffee???
Review 37:No complaints. Bar was a bit expensive and crowded, but what did I expect?
Review 38:We had a grand room, with a living room, after a hiking vacation where we roughed it. I liked the suite so much that we stayed in the hotel, ordered room service, and bought a movie, rather than going out into the city for another adventure.
Review 39:I think the rooms look a lot nicer on the internet. The rooms are really pricy for the size, value etc. Our room appeared a tad bit dirty on our first day & our closet had brown water spots in the roof area. Also, be prepared to pay about 35 bucks a day for parking @ the actual hotel.
Review 40:My 18 yr old & 9 yr old daughters, plus my 11 yr old son & ourselves enjoyed the tennis court! The location is fab, but I'm not sure if the rooms are worth the cost?!?
Review 41:Nothing at all!
Review 42:Excellent facilities and hospitality services in addition to a very professional staff. I accidentally forgot a large sum of money in their safe and three days later on contacting the hotel, I was informed that the money was in their possession and then I collected it! I think it was a case of total honesty which is a basic ingredient of hospitality services. Apart from that the rooms are great! I also think the staff are a great lot of people who were extremely helpful and efficient. Highly recommended for a comfortable and happy stay!
Review 43:Valet parking a challenge, dining recommendations incomplete, noise a sleeping issue. Overall not an excellent value.
Review 44:House keeping staff efficient and friendly. Good downtown location
Review 45:The wi-fi was so-so, our room backed up to the elevators so we heard those all night, and the AC was very slow to respond to controls.
Review 46:We stayed here to attend a concert at Coors Field. The location was about a 10 min walk along fun streets lined with hundreds of dining and drinking options. Just what we were looking for. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, beds comfy, and the included breakfast was by far the best I've had as an included option.
Review 47:Besides the parking, probably that breakfast was not included.
Review 48:I liked that I was able to walk everywhere once I parked (in a parking garage not affiliated with the hotel's $37/night valet-only parking).
Review 49:Replacement fridge was on a cart that took up too much space in the room. Don't understand why the new on wasn't put in place of the broken fridge. Not enough drawers for three people to put clothing. I've never ran into that problem in other 4 star hotels. No spa services available except outside of the hotel - inconvenient and unheard of. Swimming pool closes at 9pm.
Review 50:Nothing was up expectation except the employees were very courteous.
Review 51:The underside of the toilet seat was, well, soiled when we first arrived. An honest mistake. It was cleaned that first day. My wife now sees there is sometimes a benefit to leaving the seat up!!
Review 52:The look of the hotel, specifically the dark wood paneling. Very rich feel.
Review 53:Having been travelling for over twelve hours from uk arrived at check-inat 20.00 to be told that the hotel was totally sold out and thatalthough I had booked two months ago, they could only offer us a roomthat 'had a view of the pool' or an adapted room. We went to theroom by the pool to discover that it was next to the lifts and that thewindow opened literally onto the pool where lots of children weresplashing about. It stank of chlorine. We trailed back to check in andsaid we would have one of the accessible rooms. It was fine but had nobath. Lots of unnecessary hassle. Room should have been reserved for usprior to our arrival that conformed to what we had booked.
Review 54:Received email from Ann Donavon who I assumed was Hotel staff prior to stay with offer to upgrade to a suite for $18 a night in body of email. I requested an upgrade upon arrival. The cost was actually a $100 per night. I took the upgrade but was not pleased. Lesson learned is to open email offer completely and read thoroughly. I feel as though I wasted an extra $300 during stay ($100) a night.
Review 55:Location to 16th St. with lot's of dining options.
Review 56:nothing bad to say! place was awesome.
Review 57:located in the heart of downtown the location was perfect. Staff was more than nice and accommodating. Would def stay here again.
Review 58:Didn't have a menu in the room, so called the kitchen was kind of short. Said they would send one up, waited about a half a hour, still no menu. Called down to the front desk sent one up promptly. Front desk really outstanding.
Review 59:The staff was really nice, the place had a great atmosphere. Loved the room.
Review 60:The coldness coming out of the window and there was a black sock by the chair when we got to our room, cleaning person must have missed it. It just showed that they dont move furniture around when cleaning.
Review 61:Look the inside bar and the location.
Review 62:No directions on how to make the elevator go. Card swipe details would be nice.
Review 63:The small lights that come on between the beds and in the bathroom. Beautiful rooms. Clean and fresh. Starbucks right there!
Review 64:The low-level lighting to help you move around at night turns on even by movement of bed sheets, so they were flashing on & off quite a few times during the night.
Review 65:The room & location were very nice. The front-desk staff were very helpful with directions and making reservations.
Review 66:We ordered a $15 breakfast and it came out to $33 on my bill. Be careful for hidden fees. I'm assuming there was a split plate fee, additional cost for orange juices, and gratuity added. Also, parking is $37/day! Whew! Glad we only stayed one day! But overall value was great considering we got an exceptionally low rate on the room.
Review 67:The upgrades to everything on the hotel, especially in the room, compared to other hotels. There were even motion lights under the bed and in the bathroom for convenient night lighting experience.
Review 68:Breafkast buffet was only served until 9:30 am even though we were informed that breakfast (apparently a la carte) was served until 11:00
Review 69:The outdoor tennis area and gym were excellent. Locations is good for shopping and dining.
Review 70:Bathroom was a little on the small side. There are motion sensor lights in the closets that blaze on in the middle of the night if you don't remember to close the door.
Review 71:The location of the hotel is fantastic! A block from the main downtown shopping/entertainment district (16th Street Mall) and close to rental car, Zoo, Botanical Gardens and several other attractions.
Review 72:No jacuzzi however had there been a jacuzzi we wouldn't have gone to Coyote Ugly and danced on the bar :)
Review 73:I liked the room, and the location from the 16th street mall
Review 74:Insufficient dining options. However I understand since the location is saturated with great offsite restaurants.
Review 75:Clean, professional. Overall nice hotel.
Review 76:This is not a reflection on the hotel, but while I was there for one night I accumulated 100.00 in parking fines. I was told it was free to park on the street after 10 by a hotel staff.
Review 77:No real view of the mountains as there is another high rise across the street.
Review 78:Fantastic staff, modern/clean decor, and great location in downtown.
Review 79:I felt that because we booked through Booking.com we were less important. They first had a room on the 20th floor but then they put us on 5th by some noisy utilities. The desk clerk said the manager set us up under the wrong date even thought we got emails the day before welcoming us for the correct date.
Review 80:Nice place, clean and modern. We parked across the street for $15 instead of their $33 valet fee.
Review 81:Sliding door to bathroom was very awkward and difficult to use, especially when using the bathroom in the middle of the night. $33 valet parking and $4.50 bottled water seemed high to me.
Review 82:Friendly staff, comfy bed
Review 83:I opted for the high speed internet and it did not work as efficiently as I had hoped.
Review 84:Staff was very friendly and competent, great restaurant for breakfast, comfortable room with enough space to set up a computer and work.
Review 85:The sink in our restroom leaked all over the floor and had to have maintenance come fix it, a $200 plus a night hotel shouldn't have issues like this and we were not offered any compensation for the trouble with our room.
Review 86:You shouldn't have to pay for wifi with the price of the room.
Review 87:Staff was great! Breakfast was good. View from our room was awesome. Very clean and comfortable.
Review 88:Very very slow service at Check in and restaurant Restaurant is a very odd layout with slow service and rather expensive mediocre food
Review 89:Location. Fireplace in bar was nice looking
Review 90:Was not informed that my car would cost $30 per night to get valet. Went to dinner at the hotel and it being Christmas Eve it was empty. It took them 15 minutes to find a high chair and the kids Mac and cheese was not only over priced it had big chunks if pork which isn't edible for a 1 year old. Children's menus should be simple. When I booked it said my room would have 2 queen size beds and a sitting room. There was no sitting room which I counted on in order to make my children feel more comfortable and more at home to open an early Christmas present. As it stood we opened their gifts on one of the beds. 4 people crammed on a bed with no table. Our view overlooked a tennis court. We could see none of Denver's fabulous lights. The high rise directly in front of our room had 2 floors of lights on in the building exposing some type of construction. A large empty room with ladders and paint buckets. Thanks for leaving those lights on. Love Denver, hated the stay. Left at 10 at night because children aren't comfortable there and they cried to get out. Didn't stay the night after all. If you have a family, find another hotel
Review 91:The lights in the bathroom came in by them self
Review 92:Very loud night! Hotel has signs to remind guests of quiet hours but loud people in halls disturbed our sleep 2-6 am.
Review 93:Location ,bed,clean,staff excellent
Review 94:No hottub? Just a cold pool? Come on....! It was COLD outside and me and the kids were really hoping for it. The indoor swimming pool was a drag because it was so cold.
Review 95:Downtown Denver, 1 blk from 16th st mall, and Denver pavilions. Excellent. Great view of the city from the 19th floor...
Review 96:The coffee was weak and tasted bad. The booths cushions were uncomfortable. The parking fee was very high at 33 a night. Not sure what the average is for downtown.
Review 97:The breakfast food was very good so it was a surprise to have such poor coffee.
Review 98:The expense for laundry services. Just a few items cost me $94. I think the price to wash one pair of socks should not be $5 maybe a $1 or less would make more sense. I will stay at this hotel again and although I am thankful to have had the opportunity to have laundry done I won't have it done again due to the expense.
Review 99:Location, staff, comfort were all excellent.
Review 100:Noisy a few nights, with continual banging sounds
Review 101:Very good location, near 16th Street shopping and entertainment area. Stylish rooms, with some nice views of the city. Staff were all very helpful
Review 102:Bed a little firm for me but ok for a night. Parking is expensive at sight. Cheaper at lot across street but time goes till 5am then new day. I Waited till 7 pay for another day.
Review 103:Nice location.
Review 104:Check in process was slow, they had trouble finding my booking which had been made 10 hours or more before.
Review 105:Quality all around, the room, the facilities, decor, and staff was to a high standard and left me feeling very comfortable.
Review 106:The pool was cold, but after I asked a staff member about it she promptly made a call and reassured me it would be warm later in the day.
Review 107:The bar served a delicious smoked jalepeno cheese dip that was amazing. Staff is very accommodating. Watching the snow fall while drinking amazing room service coffee was a fantastic way to start the day.
Review 108:The noise from sirens was constant and lasted until after 4 am. Parking was challenging.
Review 109:Hotel is sweet. Views to the city. The sirens sounded like a war zone which was difficult!
Review 110:Loved the facilities, location and size of room. The front desk was extremely helping recommending places to visit and eat! Truly had a blast and will continue to use the Grand Hyatt on future trips to Denver !
Review 111:Noisy people in the hallway. Even just at normal talking volume, sound echoed right through our door and room at all hours of the night. Heard people running in the halls all night long. Get better soundproofed doors and rooms!
Review 112:Room was comfortable, bed was comfortable, amenities and location were great.
Review 113:We mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary and came back from dinner to find chocolates and a bottle of bubbles in our room. It was a very nice touch.
Review 114:A tad on the higher price per night for a regular type of hotel room, but all amenities seemed to be high quality
Review 115:Was just here 2 nights...the bed was awesome...a tad close to the elevator, but I'm a deep sleeper...Starbucks within feet downstairs was awesome too!!
Review 116:We were there during a big NFL game, so all hotel prices were steep. I'm not sure it was valued as high as the price we paid, but it was a nice hotel.
Review 117:This hotel was just a couple short blocks away from the hub of restaurants, bars and shopping. Easy free bus transport to Pepsi Center and other attractions.
Review 118:I was attending a conference near the convention center and the hotel was a nice walk to that location. The staff and breakfast were very nice and the room was very large, cool and clean.
Review 119:There was no hot tub. Yes there was a resturant, but we travel alot so we pack our own food due to food restrictions and there was no microwave. Just a mini fridge. For a first time customer, staff didnt help out to much, like telling us room keys are only way to use elevators.
Review 120:It was a good place to stay at. Exercise room and pool were a hit with this family. Room was what we expected. The valet parking I believe is a little high on price but well worth it. They were the best, helpful, kind and made my stay better.
Review 121:We were place on either side of the elevator and could here it going all night. There were people parting in the halls all night. For the price of the hotel, there should be at least coffee for the guest if not breakfast.
Review 122:The staff was very curtious and room service food was great.
Review 123:No cons
Review 124:Our stay at the Grand Hyatt was everything that we would expect from a hotel. Everyone was courteous and there to help with any assistance that we needed. This hotel is very close to everything that we needed and a really nice shopping and restaurants on 16th street. (Which was 3 blocks from the hotel)
Review 125:It turned to be the worse night I've had at a hotel. I didn't sleep at all. The hotel was noisey at night. Sirens people in the hall way. The building itself was horribly loud. Really ruined what was starting out to be a great stay. I would never ever be in the exterior of the building again. I am not sure what the noise was I heard all night long but it was miserable.
Review 126:I think the stay was great. The hotel is clean and the staff was very nice. I think the facilities were great and up to date.
Review 127:• our bathtub did not drain very well. It took about 10 min for it to drain after taking a shower. • there was no fan in the bathroom. • the valet crew was polite but they drove ridiculously fast!! That was a little upsetting!
Review 128:The location is awesome. The cleanliness was wonderful.
Review 129:We arrived from the east coast at the hotel about 1 and were disappointed we could not get a drink since the bar was closed. On another evening, at an earlier time the bar closed cuz it wasn't busy. At that time we could also not order a drunk from room service. This is my only complaint
Review 130:Location, comfy bed
Review 131:Price of inroom movie $18.64. Ridiculous. Charges for local calls to set up pickup from hotel. Front desk couldnt do that for us. All the calls were recordings. Never spoke to a live person so was charged each time $1.07 just to get information. No menu in room for inroom service.
Review 132:We enjoyed the close proximity to 16th street mall. Greeted and checked in quickly. Check out fast. Pub 17 was tasty. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Convenience of items hair dryer, coffee, toiletries were very nice.
Review 133:Nice room and great staff
Review 134:I like that they really tried to help to get me in there
Review 135:Swimming pool was a bit chilly.
Review 136:The staff were very kind and made our stay memorable.
Review 137:Nothing
Review 138:Everything! Great location and welcoming staff
