Reviews for Kingsmill Resort

Review 1:This is better than most resorts that cater to families with young kids, you will not be disappointed. Convenient to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA.

Review 2:Comfortable accommodations in magnificent location with full service facilities. Very friendly staff. Magnificent tennis courts. Great break on drive from the north to Florida.

Review 3:We ate three meals onsite. The bar the first night....the bartender was not pleasant. The waitress the last morning at breakfast was just okay (finished setting up the empty table next to us before she asked us if we wanted coffee. Then reached over my friend to set my coffee down. Never came and asked if I wanted my coffee refreshed.) We stood and waited to be seated for several minutes. Waitresses were setting tables, young men walking around....no one took notice that we were waiting.

Review 4:Room was clean and quiet. Used hot tub and pool, both were pleasant.

Review 5:The golf course is very good, but nothing to write home about.

Review 6:We had a very nice time as a place to stay and enjoy Williamsburg, Jamestown while being able to play golf

Review 7:Went to get a drink and something to eat and the staff did not care if we were there and would probably prefer that we didn't show up.

Review 8:We really enjoyed our room

Review 9:Staff was bit snotty. We asked a for a table in the empty restaurant; they asked if we had a reservation; we didn't; they acted like they were doing us a huge favor, seating us. 1 hour later, the restaurant was still mostly empty. Server was very nice. Food was not great quality

Review 10:Location is great; shuttle service to Busch Gardens was very handy. Setting is beautiful, on the water

Review 11:The bed was the worst I have ever slept in at a hotel. The bed was a full size for my 6'4" husband and myself which is ridiculous for the amount we paid. The bed was also very poor quality and we both had aches in our backs the next day. We stayed for 3 nights and never got a good night sleep. There were also so many bugs in the room. Each morning we had multiple daddy long leg spiders in the bathroom, one morning I saw one on my toothbrush! There were marks on the ceiling where moths and other bugs had been squished, but never cleaned. Very disappointed.

Review 12:Great location. The River pool is very nice and the kids really enjoyed the lazy river. The wait staff was very attentive and drinks and food were reasonable.

Review 13:The variety of activities and the convenience of all the facilities was impressive. The setting is beautiful on the James River. The staff was very friendly. It was a wonderful weekend.

Review 14:Wifi did not work. We called customer support a few times but could not get the issue resolved. A suggestion would be to add more access points in strategic areas or in the rooms to improve the signal strength.

Review 15:The resort was great and the staff were friendly and professional.

Review 16:the phone never worked to call to the front desk, I walked to the desk daily to remind them and no one came to fix the phone. When i checked out i reminded them again. The air conditioning unit made a horrible noise every time it came on and that was disruptive to sleep

Review 17:it was a great few days The pillows were very hard and we had to take off the comforter so sleep was difficult

Review 18:the staff was so very nice the food was very good and the pools great

Review 19:Nothing.

Review 20:Everything about is is excellent! The staff are really helpful and welcoming, Very POLITE. I'm stressing that out because Rude (talk to you with attitude like they hate why you can't just answer your own questions) and impolite staffs ruin my vibe when I'm on vacation. It's very convenient with the free shuttle buses inside the resort. It's very clean and picturesque. Very relaxing vacation indeed. You can have it all here.

Review 21:The room service food let's kingsmill down - omelette was overdone and tasteless, pancakes dry. Spaghetti was not spaghetti, it was overcooked slimmy vermicelli.

Review 22:Staff at marina and river pool are very nice. Room is spacious and clean.

Review 23:The whole experience was fantastic, it is a fantastic location and the staff are only to happy to ensure you have a brilliant stay. It was also really nice to park the car for a few days and take advantage of the shuttle buses to the attractions.

Review 24:Wish the room was a bit bigger. Also long walk to the kids pool. It seemed like there was a shuttle service but we could not tell where to pick it up. Workout equipment could use a little upgrade.

Review 25:Loved the kids pool, the view out our room, the relaxed atmosphere. Very scenic. Lots to do in the area. I like the country club feel. No riff raff!

Review 26:Great pool and lazy river. James landing grill on the river is the best seafood and staff. The sweet spot always hits the spot with fresh ice cream creations.

Review 27:Unfortunately the beds were indicated as kingsize - this is why we opted for a family room at this resort with our teenage children - but were definitely smaller (ca. 1.4). Therefore I rated the comfort less although the matresses as such were very comfortable. Upon inquiry we were told that these were considered doubles and that there were no other dimensions. However, my family is very tall and it would have been nice to have a bit more space.

Review 28:The resort is beautiful and well-kept. The room was lovely and had a tiny terrace from which we even saw a doe in the evening. The e-shuttles were much appreciated in the summer heat and we enjoyed the food in the Marina and breakfast in the Mill. It is a bit remote but this represents its charm!

Review 29:The room was too small and should have at least a small fridge. The staff at the Grind Café was horrible; the service there was even worst.

Review 30:The location is excellent if you are visiting BG and WCUSA. The shuttle service is very much appreciated. The staff at the lazy river pool was excellent.

Review 31:Beautiful facility - spread out so it doesn't feel crowded. No need to leave the grounds if you didn't want to. Beautiful views. Several pools.

Review 32:The room location wasn't great (Grave's Ordinary). For the upgrade, I expected it to have a better view and be a little closer, or within better site of the river. We were close to main registration which was nice but the bedroom overlooked the parking lot. Also the room was pretty dated and dark, and the icemaker wasn't turned on. For an off-peak time (Sunday and Monday evening stay), I was disappointed to pay so much for a not-so-great room. As this was our first time visiting, I would have liked to been more impressed with our private facilities. The public ones appeared to be top-notch. Having no parking at either pool area was a bit of a head scratcher though I know there were other options for getting around.

Review 33:Loved the pool area, game room, breakfast, size of the room itself (deluxe one bedroom suite). Allowed for perfect privacy within our party of 4. The James Landing Grille was nice and service was good. Crab legs were great; the hushpuppies were not. Clearly frozen.

Review 34:Gift shop could have more of a variety of items. Showers in rooms nearby are very loud. Almost sounded like they were in the same room.

Review 35:The pools. The easy and timing of the shuttles to Kings Island. The pickup at rooms to onsite locations.

Review 36:Convenient to everything! This was our family base to visit Bush Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. The shuttles worked out great! My son loved the river pool too.

Review 37:Beds were doubles... Not queen size so a little uncomfortable. Property bathroom needed an update.

Review 38:Gorgeous property! Wonderful workout facility... wonderful tennis courts... fabulous golfing...very quick, convent free shuttle service to Busch Gardens and local waterpark... bicycles available to rent... Gorgeous property for long walks!

Review 39:As elegant as the room(s) were, the bed was disappointing. Not comfortable at all.

Review 40:Staff was extremely friendly and actually left a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries on the table upon arrival(it was our honeymoon)

Review 41:Cell phones should be banned in the dining areas

Review 42:You get hotel style amenitities but without it feeling like you're at a hotel. The rooms are nice and clean and quiet

Review 43:The only item is the lack of good cell service. But this can be a good item depending on your position!?

Review 44:Excellent location, away from the hustle of modern city life. Staff was fantastic! Highly recommended. Possibly next time I will use the fire place.

Review 45:Don't stay on ground floor!! Sounds from guests occupying room above are constant, day and night!! Children running on floor above, not good!!

Review 46:Staff, food, location, clean

Review 47:Bed was fair furniture was horribly uncomfortable illumination in the bathroom at the sink poor, noise from above unit at times reached annoying level. All this and we were upgraded to this unit. Last stay was much more enjoyable

Review 48:The grounds ,the main building and its views

Review 49:I couldn't find a hair dryer in our room. Patio screen door came off track very easily - needs to be repaired. Ordered two sandwiches at tennis center while waiting for shuttle. Staff there was not friendly. The cheese was left off of both sandwiches and they were tasteless. We wished we had waited to get in the park before eating lunch.

Review 50:Beautiful outside atmosphere. Our building had a patio that faced the river. Room was pretty and spacious. Check-in staff & shuttle drivers were very friendly. Shuttle service to Busch Gardens a big plus.

Review 51:The room was over priced. It was small, and had no refrig.. The only way to get ice was to call the front desk and have it delivered.

Review 52:Fitness center, on site eateries, the easy of walking most places

Review 53:the two hour wait for room service. inability to book a restaurant table even when we arrived at 2pm poor selection of alcoholic beverages at poolside

Review 54:the quiet and peaceful location. privacy when required. pools. excellent wifi. comfortable bed. views, location the food when it finally arrived

Review 55:The clothes dryer is smaller than the washer therefore requiring loads to be divided and taking more time to do laundry. Also, the dryer vent needed cleaned very badly.

Review 56:The reason I chose this hotel in Williamsburg was its proximity to Busch Gardens and the fact that it offers a shuttle to and from the park. Also, I wanted a property with a washer and dryer and our suite had this. It was a great benefit to have the washer and dryer as I did about 8 loads of laundry while there for two nights. Upon arrival home, I had one load of laundry to do. Also, the turf and surf (steak and lobster tail) meal at the main restaurant was awesome.

Review 57:We had a rough time getting Wi Fi. The James Landing restaurant at the marina actually turned us away one night when we walked in, not even to put us on a wait list for a reservation. They simply said that they had large parties coming in and were booked that night and turned us away. We've never actually been turned away completely by a restaurant before so that struck us as a bit odd. They did not seem busy or to have full tables either.

Review 58:We loved the full kitchen, the River swimming pool, the friendly staff, comfy beds, the peacefulness, shuttle bus to Busch gardens and the overall convenient location to all the local attractions.

Review 59:You can hear anything moving above you if you stay on the ground floor. Noisy people at night yelling and making alot of noise but the bed was confortable and the room was nice. Overall my stay with 10 being the highest in best time I will have to rate a 7.

Review 60:The grounds and scenery was vedy nice to walk around and the food in the restaurants were good.

Review 61:fantastic location - dining on site was very good - all staff were friendly and helpful -the free shuttle bus to historic Williamsburg and Busch Gardens was very convenient.

Review 62:Loved our stay here! Large suite, comfy bed and clean. We will definitely stay here again

Review 63:Everything about the resort was wonderful. I had the most wonderful birthday celebration I have ever had.

Review 64:The view of the marina was very nice, and the grounds were beautiful in their autumn colors.

Review 65:I can't think of anything.

Review 66:My husband and I loved everything, to sum it all up into one word AWESOME!!

Review 67:Condo was poorly furnished and the carpet was stained and dated. The restaurant food was not up to the resorts billing.

Review 68:Booking.com still hasn't fixed my rate for my stay

Review 69:I loved the resort Great food great service and beauty all over .

Review 70:Peaceful setting on the water. Good food on site. Clean(most important), variety of activities offered, quiet. Shuttle service was great.,

Review 71:I loved the plentiful activities available! We enjoyed waking up to a view of the river!

Review 72:Their where press on nails on the floor in the besdroom

Review 73:Everything

Review 74:The view of river

Review 75:The beds were terrible! So noisy and uncomfortable.

Review 76:Buffet breakfast was excellent and location.

Review 77:Dining quality did not match hotel's resort quality.

Review 78:Location, views of James River, staff.

Review 79:A little dated.

Review 80:Location and the views

Review 81:Good location at the sea side, fully equiped kitchen, very friendly staff

Review 82:ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

Review 83:Nothing

Review 84:Every thing

Review 87:The Overall Costumer Service Was excellent!

Review 88:Not much for kids, mostly pools only

Review 89:Very comfortable

Review 90:A little pricy but worth it.

Review 91:Many things to do there and the service was outstanding.

Review 92:We didn't even need our cars. With a single phone request, a shuttle was at our door within minutes to take us anywhere on the resort we asked.

Review 93:Double beds

Review 94:Location River pool and bar Shuttle service

Review 95:The comfort of the Kings mill area and the hospitality. The restaurant was experience was was great.

Review 96:the lazy river was deceiving from photos

Review 97:The trails!

Review 98:The rooms didn't have microwaves or mini fridge. The places to grab a sandwich or snack closed early.

Review 99:The view was amazing.

Review 100:Far away from city noise but you can find every thing you need around the resort location.

Review 101:It felt like I was at home

Review 102:Great customer service

Review 103:I had been at Kingsmill when it first opened. I was impressed then and remain impressed now.

Review 104:nothing

Review 105:Location Bed was wonderful Suite and view were great

Review 106:didn't like that their was no fridge in the room

Review 107:rooms were very clean, beds were so comfortable. Restaurants were delicious.

Review 108:Parking was not adequate - had to park in visitors' lot and walk a distance.

Review 109:Service Quality of Accommodations Location

Review 110:Great place we will be back. the free shutell to the parks was great on time made it so easy. pool great time.

Review 111:HVAC system in our room was a problem. One air vent was located right over the head of the bed which caused air to blow directly on our heads. Location of bungalow was near woods and wife suffered multiple bug bites. Would have preferred room closer to river and main facility builing

Review 112:Grounds are well kept and staff was excellent. Food in Elements and the Grill were excellent. Had a great spa experience. Location in relation to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg is fantastic. Looking forward to returning as long as a suite closer to the river and main building is available.

Review 113:Restaurants closed at 9pm? Too early, especially after you have returned back to the hotel after a day. Also the lack of a refrigerator in the guest rooms, (unless you request one). Why? when this should be standard as it is in most hotels. Room service is not 24 hrs, plus there is a gratuity charge , and delivery charge, + Tax.

Review 114:Close proximity to Busch Gardens and colonial, with complimentary shuttle bus. Great restaurants on premises. Staff was very hospitable. The grounds are well kept. Gorgeous views of the river.

Review 115:Requested a room with a view and there was no view whatsoever! Opened the backdoor to sit out on the porch and was swarmed by mosquitoes. Heard someone talking at dinner and their rate was much lower than mine.

Review 116:The friendliness of the staff

Review 117:Have stayed here before. Excellent (just as before) only thing would have been advanced notice that LPGA tour was going to be there. Would have probably elected to stay anyway however would have been better prepared for crowds and congestion
