Reviews for Seahorse Inn
Review 1:Staff is amazing, accomadating, super friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant. I stay her 3 - 4 eat days every month. Won't go anywhere else
Review 2:No coffee available in room or at office. Xmas day everything nearby closed.okay but for the money could have got better. Sheets had holes.
Review 3:Close to family
Review 4:The house next to the motel played their loud music from 8 pm until 1 am. We had to call the manager who was quick to respond and resolve the issue.
Review 5:Clean, safe neighborhood, walking distance to several places to eat.
Review 6:The staff was very friendly and the room was clean although basically a 60's era motel. The location is great! The Sion restaurant in the parking lot has some of the best food I've had in a while.
Review 7:I've stayed here a few times and it has been pretty great. It's clean, cheap, and close enough to things you can drive to/taxi/uber to quickly. It's not a fancy hotel, but who needs one?.. You should be out enjoying the city/beach! :) Staff is friendly and courteous and there is always parking.
Review 8:Nothing at all.
Review 9:Large comfortable room. Great location within a twenty minute walk from Manhattan Beach. Excellent value. Enjoyed my stay here. Mexican restaurant outside the hotel was fabulous.
Review 10:Room had a separate bedroom for our grandson. The room was very clean and quiet. We were near many restaurants. The staff was extremely courteous. There was a restaurant on the premises
Review 11:I think the bedding/comforter is very outdated and not very comfortable, so they should look into updating it.
Review 12:The location is great and has a Mexican restaurant on site with many others walking distance. Friendly staff too!
Review 13:The room had a glade plug in with the worst fragrance which made me feel sick to my stomach the whole night even after unplugging it. Some of the other guests were shady and I didn't feel safe.
Review 14:I liked the view of downtown Los Angeles.
Review 15:The beds were very uncomfortable and there were ants in the bathtub. The pool was freezing and when asked about heating it the manager said the owner won't let them turn it on.
Review 16:It was a short drive from the beach.
Review 17:The pool is really small, and I doubt anybody would want to use it. A little bit pricey.
Review 18:It's close to the airport and Manhattan beach. The rooms are quite comfy.
Review 19:no breakfast included, however possibilities across the street.
Review 20:staff was friendly and the location is really good! Free limitless wifi is convenient when travelling with a group of 4. Beds were really nice too
Review 21:For the money, i expected something in the room for food.....a fridge, a microwave, a coffemaker....at least one basic appliance.
Review 22:The location was central to my needs, with a fair selection of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The room was clean and comfortable
Review 23:no bad experience at all.
Review 24:Just loved having a down to earth place to stay. Loved being able to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air or to turn on the air conditioning if needed. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
Review 25:Nothing really
Review 26:Good value for money motel in a safe area 10 minutes walk from the beach. Easy to get to by public transport from LAX in about 20 minutes. Swimming pool and a good Mexican restaurant right outside your room.
Review 27:I would have liked a second set of curtains so that we could open up the dark ones and let some light into the room. It would have been nice to have towel bars in the bathroom.
Review 28:The staff was very accommodating; the room was clean and quiet.
Review 29:We stayed for one night and the property was clean and comfortable. This older style motel was in a good location and close to Manhattan Beach. Target just down the road was handy too. Would stay again for an overnighter.
Review 30:room/bathroom should be renewed
Review 31:very good value for money clean and big room close to the ocean (10 min walking) and to LAX (10/15 min by car)
Review 32:No elevators. We stayed on the top floor. We carried all of our heavy luggage up. It was a little difficult but not impossible.
Review 33:The location of the motel. Manhattan Beach is a hidden gem. I never heard too much about this city. Finding this affordable place on Booking.com gave my children and I a chance to stay here and explore the city.
Review 34:The internet is pretty much unusable. Seems to be a low speed connection shared by everyone at the hotel. Could barely check the weather, lookup directions etc unless I wanted to look at 3AM.
Review 35:this was by far one of my favorite places to stay in the SB. will recommend it for it's nice staff cool restaurant safe and easy access to LAX and LBA airports. love the place and will always stay there well I am in S CA
Review 36:A/C was not the most powerful, but did the job if left on all night.
Review 37:Great location. Nice pool. Nice to have a third bed. Restaurant next door was a nice place to end the day. Young gentleman who checked us in was wonderful; friendly, patient, good room recommendation.
Review 38:Office staff was friendly. I wish there would've been a hairdryer. The t.v. volume wouldn't turn up high enough to be heard. The location wasnperfect and the price was very affordable for a family of 5. I would stay at this inn again!!
Review 39:It was basic but fine for a night or two. Mexican restaurant closes Sunday and Monday so didn't get to try it!
Review 40:Location good - 10 minutes from airport and from Manhattan Beach. Staff helpful.
Review 41:Extremely friendly, helpful staff. I needed to print our Disneyland tickets and had no access to a printer - the staff let me use theirs and even went the extra mile to let me use a non-public computer because the file type wasn't compatible with the public computer.
Review 42:One of the night The people upstairs had kids and they were running around all night. It kept us up till about 1:00am. Other than that it was a perfect place to stay and I will definitely stay again
Review 43:Loved the location! Room was perfect for a family of 6. Nothing fancy all the necessitiies you need. Would definitely stay again
Review 44:Busy road, noisy kids in pool (but I do not want to sound like a grumpy old man....)
Review 45:Reasonably priced Inn not too far from Manhattan beach in a safe, affluent part of the LA area. The guys running it are very friendly
Review 46:Southern California...what a great get away. Rented bikes, rode the strand, ate good food, saw a concert on the beach, and went swimming of course.Nice Place. Good location. Friendly helpful staff. Restaurant was good food also. Nice coffee shop across street. Bus system made it easy to get around.
Review 47:This place was great for the money. I was visiting LA from the desert with out-of-town guests on a budget and this place was the right location at the right price. Much more affordable than anything in the area that is still decent. Also, the nice man at the reception gave us all water when we arrived and was welcoming and helpful. Will definitely come back if I'm traveling from LAX early in the morning, or in a situation where I just need a bed for the night.
Review 48:Room serviceable but run down and not super clean...
Review 49:Very convenient location for Redondo Beach visit for half the room rate The Mexican restaurant across the parking lot serves a great breakfast The owner worked the desk; nice guy and he accommodated my request for a room on top floor away from street.
Review 50:Unit was old and air conditioning was very loud (next door unit as well as your own unit). TV screen mounted on the wall was also too small for the distance from the bed.
Review 51:Good location within walkable distance to the beach (0.75 miles or less). Unit was also clean.
Review 52:Parking is limited and extremely challenging when the hotel is fully booked.
Review 53:The owner and staff are amazing, and surpass reasonable expectations to deliver superior customer service.
Review 54:The quality of the comforter is really bad and they are too old. I used my own blanket instead because it's too uncomfortable.
Review 55:Friendly staff. Good location to Manhattan beach and LAX. Just walk for 5min and you can take the bus to LAX, although it's not on time. The room was clean and spacious. The mattress is relatively firm, which I liked. We had a good time there hanging around in the morning and got to see the delicate neighborhood with flowers. Have to say the Mexican food restaurant was good.
Review 56:Morning coffee would have been nice. No hair dryer. Other than that, everything fine.
Review 57:Nice little pool. Good location, not too far from the ocean, a 15 to 20 minute walk. Clean place.
Review 58:Unfortunately, wifi is unreliable and only remained connected for the first day of the trip. Parking is rather limited and can be unavailable to guests when the hotel is fully booked.
Review 59:The location is perfect because it's easily accessible even during periods of high traffic. The owner and hotel employees, especially the cleaning staff, are amazing!! They are extremely personable and friendly and do everything they can to assist guests and satisfy even the most trivial request. I thoroughly enjoy every stay at this hotel.
Review 60:Nothing in particular. Pretty decent stay!
Review 61:Clean hotel. Nothing special but very functional place close to manhattan beach. We enjoyed it. Appreciated that management was up late to let us in!
Review 62:When I called to make a reservation for a second room, only a more expensive room was available. Paul, the person who answered the phone called me back right when there was a cancellation so that I can have the less expensive room.
Review 63:Found 2 centipedes and a black spider in the room. Told the front desk the next morning at check out and they didn't seemed to be concerned at all.
Review 64:Nothing
Review 65:convenient location to explore LA and close to Airport. The breakfast at Sion's - a mexican restaurant was worth the stay. We travelled back to the location just for the breakfast options.
Review 66:Not much to complain about. It was what I expected for the price.
Review 67:The discription on booking.com was right on. Great value and a good location. The fridge and microwave helped us save some money. I was down on the beach enjoying my morning coffee and watching surfers in about 10 minutes. This is a safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Review 68:Bed was a little too firm for me.
Review 69:Older hotel but very clean and well kept. Premium channels were provided at no extra charge. Great location. A Mexican resturant located next door convenient for breakfast, dinner. Nearby Hermosa pier.
Review 70:The manger Silvano went above and beyond with his information for us about the area. The location of the Sea Horse makes it easily accessible to everything in the area.
Review 71:It's time to go away from keys and change to a key card system.
Review 72:Considering how expensive LA can be, this place is good value to money considering the location.
Review 73:The bed is awful. Pillows old, mattress uncomfortable, blanket so thin it was a joke. Also the old slippery bedspread are you kidding?
Review 74:The staff were very nice
Review 75:The one bad thing - and that one is truly disturbing - is the Wi-Fi. Forget about Skype or Internet browsing; the only thing you can possibly be able to do is to check your e-mail.
Review 76:It has all the basics, in the right amounts, the rooms are clean and of decent size, the heating works - it's just a reliable bedroom for any occasions except when you need (need, not want) a good internet connection.
Review 77:The ONLY downfall....the pool was cold, but that could be because we traveled in March. Not complaining about it.
Review 78:The location was perfect. Close to the beach and great food. The motel is very basic, but for us, it was perfect. We don't need fancy. We will definately stay here again.
Review 79:pool not heated (grandkids wanted to visit); toilet too low and cramped in the corner; bathroom ventilator made lots of noise when turned on. Tiny TV.
Review 80:Location near my relatives; adequate facilities, friendly staff; handicapped parking; not noisy on weekend; room warm enough and clean; bed comfortable.
Review 81:Good hotel staff (Danny is very helpful), excellent location by state route 1, clean room. There is a Mexican restaurant beside the motel, also a Taco Bell nearby. Target is 3 minutes drive.
Review 82:Another member of staff (on a different shift) was very off about me storing the bike box, even though it had previously been agreed. Proximity of hotel to very busy (in rush hour) road. Pool was freezing cold!
Review 83:Nice room, clean. Liked the dressing/bathroom area. Nice pool area. Staff extremely helpful - I was travelling with a bicycle and one member of staff in particular was extremely helpful with regard to storing my bike box for the day until I was picked up by friends. Mexican restaurant next door was good - nice coffee and food at very reasonable prices, with outside sitting area. The restaurant is very close - virtually in the same site.
Review 84:Traffic noise and construction at night. Out of their control, I know, but still we lost sleep because of it. Need a car to get anywhere from this location. We had none and relied on Uber cars which worked out great
Review 85:Friendly front desk staff. Clean but old style motel. Could use a make over and some amenities. Had to ask front desk for hair blower and tissues which are basic in most hotel and motels. Mexican restaurant next door was very good
Review 86:It was used opened soap in the shower as well as open packs of shampoo and conditioner. Im not trying to throw any shade its just a head up for future customers.
Review 87:I like the customer service he was friendly and easy going made my stay much more comfy
Review 88:The carpets were mildewed and old. My bags smelled like mildew for weeks after leaving. I had to blast the A/C all day to try to air it out for the evening.
Review 89:The staff was very nice and polite.
Review 90:There is swimming pool, but it has been closed most of the time, haven't seen anybody really using it.
Review 91:The location is excellent - 20min by foot to Manhattan Beach, close to Hermosa beach. Lots of restaurants nearby in walking distance. Great location in vicinity of the airport - it is even possible to go by public transport for 1.75 USD to the airport (bus 232 stop is just outside the motel, brings you to City Bus Center and from there you can take free shuttle). Very friendly staff.
Review 92:Clunking luggage down steps outside at early hours (a price you pay for choosing a place with no indoor hallways or elevator) Weekend noise of fellow boarders (again a price you pay for outdoor "hallways" that people can use as common balconies outside their rooms)
Review 93:Close to Beaches and Restaurants Comfortable Beds Working WiFi and TV Cable Clean Bathroom, Towels, Bedding and Room Affordable
Review 94:All rooms require climbing stairs, no elevator, difficult for handicap people. Limited parking, have to be in early to ensure a spot, street under construction so not possible to park there.
Review 95:Large room, old but clean.
Review 96:The wifi was very slow and kept cutting out
Review 97:Location is perfect, there is a delicious Mexican restaurant on site, great Mongolian BBQ across the road and easy walk to manhattan beach shops, target and the beach. We had a standard room and it was great size and very clean. Airport is $25 can ride away.
Review 98:beds were very hard drunk obnoxious other guests -- no discount or free night stay offered -- we had to inform manager after 2.5 hours of nonstop noise too many stairs -- no level access
Review 99:Location was nice for Manhattan Pier
Review 100:I don't have a bad thing to say. The beds were so comfortable and the sunrise in the morning was worth getting up for! The only sad part is that we couldn't stay longer!
Review 101:Wi-fi was slow at times.
Review 102:Clean, nice pool, nice staff, decent bed, 15 min walk to beach. Obviously not a high-end hotel but very comfortable for those on a budget.
Review 103:Beach is not walking distance. I had a spider on my bed.pillows are not to soft and bed was not firm.
Review 104:Service was good.It is close to everything like food places and bars and beach. The taxi to the bars and beach was no more than 10$ So I recommend if you are drinking.i would stay at this place again if you are on a budget and just need a quick place to find.
Review 105:For the money it met all my need's.
Review 106:The staff was courteous. I ask for more towels and immediately was given more towels. The room was clean and with flat screen. It met my needs for a comfortable night sleep.
Review 107:The people on the side of my room. They liked to stand outside the door and talk on the phone all loud. Nothing against the inn though. I can't complain about the room and service. It was very good.
Review 108:The bedroom, happy to say it had an AC and the tv was nice also. The swimming pool looked fun, I couldn't go in since I had no bathing suit but I will next time I stay at this place.
Review 109:Nothing particular, I was surprised of the fact that the hairdryer was missing.
Review 110:A typical motel. Room was reasonably spacious with good beds, but no hairdryer. Pool is quite small but ok. Position is good, directly on PCH (Hwy 1), easy to reach and close to many restaturants and services. A small mexican restaurant is in the hotel premises, practical for breakfast. From the hotel score I would have expected something more. Still I think it can be recommended for a 1-2 night stay.
Review 111:The toilets were low flush and we had a back up three times in a matter of one night stay.parking was limited to one car per room.
Review 112:I was happy that the location of hotel was good not to far fron the pier. nieghborhood seemed safe. the grounds and rooms were clean. staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 113:Room had 2 separate rooms so it was good for privacy but one of the rooms did not have an a/c and with the window open it was almost impossible to sleep, high traffic area on Main Street
Review 114:Great friendly staff, close proximity to the beach and very clean!!
Review 115:There was pretty potent smell of cleaning products. Had to air out our room for a bit upon returning each time.
Review 116:Great option for the price. Not the Ritz, but if your looking for a budget motel this is on the top of my list in the LA area. Friendly staff, clean room. AC worked well. Walkable distance to bars/restaurants on Manhattan Beach (1mi or so). Easy access to 405 and LAX. Free Parking in the lot and if full, street parking is easy. Room was good size with King bed, TV dresser and desk. I've stayed in plenty of places in the LA area that turned out to be complete dumps for even more money, so I was quite happy to find this spot for anytime I don't mind be a little outside of town. Overall, an easy spot to drop your bags get a decent nights sleep without any hassles.
Review 117:How loud the air conditioner is.
Review 118:I like the location, close to the beach where we participate in the Hermosa Beach street fair. I like how clean the rooms are and the price. We are there that weekend to make money not spend it!
Review 119:TV channel didn't work too well, but it wasn't a problem as we were outside most of the time.
Review 120:Clean room. Great service. Nice clean towels and bathroom. A/C was perfect on hot summer days.
Review 121:Not even remotely close to the beach. Other patrons with room doors open, drinking beer and smoking as family had to walk past to get to our room. Furnishings and decor very base-level accommodations.
Review 122:The seahorse inn lived upto it's name, I was happy as a seahorse in water. Very comfortable, had everything you would expect and great money for value.
Review 123:Room smelled of furniture polish and cigarette smoke in all fairness it was a smoking room! Would stay again in a non-smoking room.
Review 124:Seahorse in location is close to the beach 1.5 miles offers an opportunity to explore a really cool area Manhattan Beach Strand. If you just need a place to crash and shower.
Review 125:Can't say I didn't like anything. parking can get a lil crowded but street parking is available. Wish it was a tad closer to the beach but I don't hold that against them.
Review 126:The room was fairly big. With a big bed which was good cuz it was going to be used alot. Got everything that was stated on website. Pool was perfect. It's an old school motel and I loved it. Quiet. Near grocery stores and restaurants.
Review 127:No complaints. It's great for the price.
Review 128:I liked this place. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done at a very reasonable price. The staff was friendly and there's a little pool and a mexican place and free wifi.
Review 129:I loved the restaurant next door that, I believe, is owned by the same person. Some of the best Mexican food in the area is here. The owner of both places is a very nice man.
Review 130:The rooms and decor were dated. Not as comfortable, but for the price you can't expect much.
Review 131:The location is near the beaches. The staff was friendly and helpful. The value for the money was excellent. Good value for friends traveling on a budget.
