Reviews for Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe
Review 1:The only thing had to pay extra for was parking since it is in the downtown area (of note, most other hotels in the are are the same). It is valet parking which is nice. They cleaned the ice off my windshield when they brought me my car.
Review 2:Amazing hot breakfast and kickback hour every evening with real solid food (not just snacks), soft drinks and open bar.
Review 3:Did not like the fact that my room bill was almost $100 more than thequote I got from Booking.com! Staff said the quote did not include taxesand fees but in every prior reservation I have made through Booking.commy final bill has been the same as the quote. Those prior bookings havebeen in Europe, Canada and the U.S.
Review 4:Location.
Review 5:NA
Review 6:We stayed in their king room with a terrace and it was beautiful. The location of the hotel was convieniently located near the plaza ask well. This was a great place to stay, not one gripe to mention.
Review 7:Loved the roof top view, bar, pool, hot tub...overall wonderful facility, excellent value, great happy hour (favorite snacks turned out to be enough for a whole dinner and an offer of 3 drinks was gracious) and breakfast was freshly made.
Review 8:Rooms doors constantly slammed - there must be a way to fix that.
Review 9:Fantastic property! We loved it so much, we stayed an extra night. Room was beautiful and very spacious. Breakfast was outstanding -so many choices. Kickback was a surprise - hot food and cocktails! We will be back to Drury!
Review 10:Like others have said the bath towels are not the softest . That's about the only negative I would say.
Review 11:Very friendly staff. Complementary happy hour. Short stroll to the plaza and dinning. Great historic building wit modern updates. Our room was very quiet. Ground floor rooms have a patio to the garden area
Review 12:Parking is valet only and it took a little while every time we needed to wait for our car to be retrieved.
Review 13:Beautiful bathroom, comfortable beds, gorgeous lobby with fireplace, wonderful happy hour with popcorn, soda, nachos, hot dogs, etc., AND free drinks, fabulous breakfast, outdoor heated pool and WARM even though it was snowing
Review 14:We were not expecting much when we booked since the price was very low for Santa Fe. It is easily walkable to the Plaza, restaurants, art galleries and shopping. The accommodations surprised us, very clean and comfortable. Balcony was a wonderful plus. However, the very best thing was the staff. They were right on top of everything. The hot breakfast and free cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon were a real bonus. Great find!
Review 15:Free WiFi was a little slow. Valet parking was a somewhat inconvenient although valet service was excellent.
Review 16:Breakfast meal and evening happy hour/snack food were fabulous.
Review 17:I didn't like that the hotel is advertised as having free parking but upon arrival the only way to park was valet.
Review 18:The location of his hotel is excellent because it is central to all the major attractions of Santa Fe.
Review 19:Loved Drury's vision! It was our first Drury stay. Wow!!! Felt very well cared for by the staff who were congenial, helpful and well informed. Totally surprised by kickback offerings. Loved the entire facility. Quiet room and well appointed. Thank you all! We will plan another vacation destination in a Drury locale for sure
Review 20:However, the food selection at breakfast could have been more varied. Other than that, we have no complaints.
Review 21:Our stay was an overall great experience. The staff is exceptional - very friendly, professional, and helpful. We got an upgrade without asking for one. The hotel's central location was a plus as well. In addition, the "kick back" feature was a pleasant surprise
Review 22:Nothing at all was even a fraction below perfect.
Review 23:As a frequent traveler to Santa Fe, I was already familiar with the wonderful location and the lovely lobby of this hotel. I always figured it was too expensive for me, but when I viewed it on Booking.com, I saw that the rooms were quite comparable to other properties that were neither as elegant nor as guest-friendly. Breakfasts each morning were delicious and varied, and what a treat to come in from a day of walking Canon Rd. and the Plaza to find a hot dinner and complimentary drinks awaiting. Sit by the enormous fire and relax while viewing the stunning paintings on the walls. Don't miss at least one meal at the incredible Eloisa restaurant ---the best New Mexican fusion cuisine I've ever had! I will be back.
Review 24:There wasn't anything that I did not like.
Review 25:The facility is spacious, as are the rooms; walking distance to the Plaza and areas of interest surrounding the Plaza; the decor is simple elegance and comfortable and the staff are trained to be courteous and welcoming. The artwork displayed is incredible and add to the feel of a local experience.
Review 26:Amazing location for walking to the plaza, fabulous restaurants, great shopping, and museums. We were celebrating a special anniversary and the hotel sent wine to our room! The staff is friendly and very professional. By far, one of the best hotels we have stayed at. We highly recommend it.
Review 27:Great rooms and bathrooms, great free breakfast, great free "kick back hour" from 5:30-7:00 includes 3 free cocktails per person, free hor deovures (dinner) hot dogs, salad, baked potatoes, soups, Italian meatballs and penne pasta, to name a few of the offerings.
Review 28:Just one criticism - the bed was too soft so that every time one of us moved the other was woken up. In a hotel of such a high standard in every way, this was a great shame
Review 29:Staff, service and facilities outstanding. Location perfect. The staff, in particular, were superb in every way.
Review 30:The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The breakfast and nightly snacks/dinner were very convenient. Almost didn't want to leave the hotel!
Review 31:I was hoping more of the Santa Fe influence would be in the hotel. It looked very sterile!I have read this was an old hospital and therefore it makes sense..
Review 32:The location was good and the free drinks was a nice bonus. Breakfast was good!! Bed was very comfortable.
Review 33:Watch out if you use google maps for directions. Google has bad data and the first step of the directions was wrong. Hopefully fixed by now.
Review 34:Great happy hour buffet.
Review 35:Wished we could have stayed longer!
Review 36:One of the nicest properties we have stayed in for some time. Rivals hotels that cost twice as much. The hotel is beautifully done with incredible artwork. Staff was knowledgable and attentive. Pool was spectacular. Breakfast and complimentary drinks were good quality. Timothy at front desk was particularly helpful.
Review 37:We liked the extras, such as a light supper, long distance calling, free drinks, breakfast, all of which we used. Also, access to our car when we needed something out of it.
Review 38:Little variety at breakfast and no lounge to relax in during the day. There is a Bar, however, its hours are limited.. It would be great to just relax with a glass of wine in the middle of the day. Too bad it does not exist.
Review 39:Location, Room and Staff.
Review 40:One front-desk staffer possibly not suited to the hospitality industry - but this is a very small quibble.
Review 41:An extraordinarily good hospitality manager (Andreas). All staff, with one exception, exceptionally service-oriented and smiling. Layout of hotel and its facilities. Very comfortable room. Car retrieval by staff very prompt and friendly. Central location of hotel.
Review 42:Breakfast was a disappointment; no fresh berries, no greek yogurt or fresh granola.
Review 43:Loved my room, large and very quiet and comfortable. Especially enjoyed Eloisa, restaurant in hotel!
Review 44:I didn't like that the bathroom doesn't have a fan in it and that the toilet and shower are in the same area. The door to the bathroom was really cool but you could see the other person using the toilet when walking past because it slides like a barn door rather than latches shut.
Review 45:Very clean, comfy, and relaxing. The breakfast was quite good and I enjoyed perks such as happy hour drinks.
Review 46:The breakfast. In comparison to the hotel as a whole, I thought the quality of the breakfast was quite poor. Also, on our 2nd day we went to breakfast at 9:15 and they were out of fresh fruit and many other foods and these were refilled which I thought was a pity. Also, wish there was an alternative to valet parking.
Review 47:The hotel is very nice, in a very nice location and caterers both to those on a budget and with a bit more to spend which I thought was very nice.
Review 48:Pity the restaurant doesn't have charge of the standard of other food. The happy hour food, and the breakfast, are just food (and the free cocktails are slapdash - wish there was a choice to pay for better). Yes, they're free, and it's great to be offered them, but they don't match the standard of the hotel in all other respects. Breakfast in particular falls well short of good.
Review 49:Great staff, large and lovely room, and so close both to Canyon Road and to the Plaza. The restaurant (for dinner) was innovative and, we thought, excitingly different.
Review 50:The only suggestion would be to get new towels, since they are like sandpaper... Someone else mentioned this, and they were correct.
Review 51:Fabulous location, clean and comfortable room, lovely breakfast, evening snacks.
Review 52:We didn't have a bad experience, but you need to know that your bath towels are like drying off with sand paper. Also, if you could vary the breakfast menu a little, that would help for people there for several days.
Review 53:The location was perfect as we could walk to all the restaurants and shopping that we wanted to. Our rooms were great,...clean and comfortable. Also, there was a lot of linen, that was very nice.
Review 54:Location (close to art galleries and the Plaza), staff, room size (huge), modern facilities, wifi was incredible (50 MBPS+ both down & up), happy hour (free drinks + food), breakfast
Review 55:Can't think of one thing!
Review 56:The hotel was right off the plaza. It had a wonderful roof top pool andalso a roof top bar, From 5:30-7:00 every evening they have a "kickback" time where guests receive 3 free drinks, they serve soup, hotdogs, nachos, pasta, meatballs and other foods all for the price of thestay. The breakfast was good as well and included in the price. Topnotch service and facilities.
Review 57:Lacks makeup mirror in room. Breakfast provided was adequate but menu never changed unlike other hotels in Santa Fe.
Review 58:Location Location Location. Late afternoon complimentary bar and snack service was good.
Review 59:We were treated like gold. We noticed the manager working along side the staff. Concierge and all staff for that matter were accommodating and friendly.
Review 60:No bad experiences. Just a suggestion. On the evening when you can use "kick back" three free drinks. It would have been nice to me if local micro beers would have been available on tap. Just puts a nice atmosphere for the evening.
Review 61:All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and room was very nice .
Review 62:We loved the location of this hotel to the plaza area. This Hotel does 3 free adult beverages per person each evening you are there. This was a real treat and they also provided all kinds a food during this happy hour time.
Review 63:Only negative was space on roof (with fantastic views of Santa Fe) hasbeen leased to new bar owner and the prices are truly insane.
Review 64:We loved everything about the Drury, wonderful hotel, breakfast and'kickback" (Happy Hour and more) are terrific, great location, friendly staff, very clean.
Review 65:Advance pay with one card. Asked for new card for incidentals upon check in but they used new debit card instead resulting in overdraft a few days later which has caused us a problem.
Review 66:There was no bottled water in the room.
Review 67:The on-site amenities, the convenience to both the square and Canyon Rd. Staff were helpful, courteous and pleasant.
Review 68:King suite room was dark and not very soundproof. THe sofa bed was comfortable but the air conditioning setting made that room freezing when the door was closed between the king bedroom. The doors did nothing to absorb resounds from the bathroom or from the sofa bed.
Review 69:Happy hour and breakfast. Overall staff were very friendly and helpful(except for one). Liked he rooftop pool area.
Review 70:We could not afford to stay longer!
Review 71:We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and we enjoyed everything about our time at the Drury. We loved the proximity to shops , attractions, cathedrals & museums. We liked the quaintness & authenticity of the traditional style adobe homes & buildings. All the Drury employees were friendly, kind & most helpful. We had a lovely time.
Review 72:Paying for parking.
Review 73:It really helped us save money with the free breakfast and early evening kick back meal. The mattress was so comfortable, I need to buy one like it. I also like the soap products in the bathroom.
Review 74:Offers tremendous value, huge room, superb location, mountain views, a multitude of "freebies", a rooftop pool and bar, plenty of public spaces, everything was new. Would come back in a second.
Review 75:The Towels are AWFUL...Sandpaper could replace them...Such a beautiful room ...and towels I would not wipe my car off with !!! Also somehow our room did not get made up even after we asked ...!
Review 76:Clean and fresh room with helpful friendly staff..
Review 77:drab room decor, breakfast except for eggs and sausage, tasteless, The restaurant in the hotel is separate and limited menu and expensive for what is offered, can't charge to room and don;t offer breakfast, can't take a glass of wine to the room bed too soft
Review 78:size of room and bathroom, cleanliness. valet prompt, front desk mostly friendly excellent location, nice towels and clean facilities, feather pillows
Review 79:An easy walk to Canyon Road and The Plaza. Staff were exceptionally accommodating. The breakfast and light dinner were tasty. Highly recommend this hotel.
Review 80:I was not aware parking cost $15 a day and I was told by staff there was valet parking only. I could have self parked for $5 in the lot Drury owns next door. I likely would have chosen valet parking but I would have liked to be given choices available to me.
Review 81:We had desert in the restaurant..service was slow, biscochitos were awful.. Of the few deserts 2 were unavailable..had to ask for water..not top notch!
Review 82:It's close to the plaza.
Review 83:We particularly were impressed with the accommodating and friendly staff. The breakfast and 5:30 small dinner were amazing! The location allowed us to frequent the plaza for sight-seeing and shopping and return to the hotel for breaks in-between. The amenities in this hotel were excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santa Fe!
Review 84:Wish there was a more casual restaurant onsite.
Review 85:Breakfast and happy hour spread was great. Very good location - easily walkable to plaza and Canyon Drive. Very large and comfortable room.
Review 86:The Drury was first class all the way at a reasonable rate. The room was very comfortable with a sofa to relax. The bathroom was well designed with a soaker tub to soothe tired muscles. The Kickback was very welcome when we did not want to go out for dinner.
Review 87:The building is attractive, and well situated on a corner, with easy walking distance to the plaza. The elevators are particularly responsive, and the room was clean & elegant.
Review 88:The location was fantastic. Minutes from the plaza. Hotel is in top shape with comfortable beds, cleanliness, ambiance, and helpful staff. Great complimentary happy hour and breakfast.
Review 89:Hotel was valet parking only. This was not disclosed on hotel's website. Front desk staff was extremely rude and told me I could leave if I did not want my car valet parked. Hotel ran out of evening food by 6:30 pm. Also, unlike other Drury hotels they did not alternate menu's. Room was not cleaned one day. I had to find a housekeeping supervisor and she cleaned our room.
Review 90:Location
Review 91:We drove in and were looking to go out in Santa Fe. When we arrived around 830 we asked what was close that would be open for dinner. The front desk guy told us that everything in Santa Fe closed at 9 and that we'd be lucky to get our order in at the in-house restaurant. We ran over and placed an order only to learn that most restaurants stayed open until 10. This was our one night in Santa Fe on a road trip and we wasted it with overpriced takeout. Very disappointing.
Review 92:The location was great. We were able to walk around downtown and see the art and shops very easily before we left.
Review 93:Hated the air conditioner coming on all the time through the night. Breakfast was the worse we had on our holiday
Review 94:Location, cleanliness, helpful staff
Review 95:Bathroom privacy is an issue because of the barn door; even with door closed you can see the toilet from the bed area at some angles. Our room was below ground level and had a view of the inside of a dry moat.
Review 96:Free happy hour and breakfast seemed like a great deal. Hotel is beautifully decorated with original art throughout the common spaces. Location is very central, next door to the cathedral. Room is quite comfortable and well-equipped.
Review 97:The cost of the room was about $20.00 more than we prefer. Because we booked through a 3rd party, we were not aware of the parking fees until we got there.
Review 98:Clean and updated room with a huge bathroom. Happy hour was relaxing with food we couldn't eat because we had just come from dinner. The breakfast was very good and convenient. The staff was sharp, quick to respond and be helpful. Also the staff was very pleasant. The location is outstanding for accessing the plaza.
Review 99:Having to pay for valet parking when the garage was 50 feet away from the hotel. I could have easily parked and retrieved my own car
Review 100:Attentive and very friendly staff. Rooftop pool, hot tub, and fire place.
Review 101:We loved everything from the minute we pulled in and met by valet! HOTEL is beautiful. Room was so amazing. Huge shower and separate soaking tub was our favorite!! Breakfast set up was beautiful. I love that dining area. Can't wait to come back. My girls hugged me when we got into the room it was that nice!!!!
Review 102:Walls can be thin at night if there's a loud group of people either in the hallway or nextdoor.
Review 103:Location and comfort while not breaking the bank. Beautiful views!
Review 104:The bathroom door was like a barn door with wheels and a rail. Neat looking, but loud (clunky) and it did not close completely. Other annoying noises in the room (buzzing refrigerator, etc).
Review 105:Nice ambiance. Great location. Breakfast was good, but you should add a waffle maker.
Review 106:I wasn't too keen on the "forced" valet parking. However the valet staff were friendly and very helpful.
Review 107:Beautiful rooms, perfect location, great experience, Plenty of extras! Complimentary drinks, breakfast and dinner. New everything.
Review 108:No tortillas for breakfast. There were 2 kitchen staff that were short and obviously didn't share the same attitude as the rest. Could use a fireplace by hot tub.
Review 109:Most of staff was very friendly and courteous. The evening snacks were abundant. Hotel was very nice.
Review 110:$14 parking charge.
Review 111:Location, comfort, front desk friendlieness, value, newness of hotel, accepts pets, closeness to Plaza, on-site parking, free wi-fi, cleanliness.
Review 112:Part of the hotel was under construction, which started very early and woke me up. Not that great of an experience for a trip that was supposed to be relaxing. Was also disappointed on the food choices. If you are gluten free or have other allergies, the food is not for you.
Review 113:The artwork was beautiful, room was lovely, bed firm, but comfortable and the staff was very nice.
Review 114:Hotel was in a great location with easy access to the square as well as other shopping/ attractions. Nice to have hot breakfast and snacks/drinks included. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 115:No bar or resturant yet but the staff claims they will have both later this year.
Review 116:Walking distance to most areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable.
Review 117:Lack of a lobby bar. The other guests were very noisy. Several children running and screaming in the hall ways and in the breakfast area. The breakfast is not good and they run out of food, specially fruit.
Review 118:Location and rooms
Review 119:We found the Muzak in the lobby and pool area a major detractor on the property. It could be a very classy hotel in a similarly great city but the piped in music cheapened it and would deter us for future stays. We would prefer not to have valet parking-but that was run well.
Review 120:Clean affordable. Responsive hotel staff.
Review 121:Charged for an extra night, changed rate despite wriiten confirmation of rate and wouldn't correct. Stated it was Booking.com responsibility for error. Too was clean and modern but had one small window with a view of a stucco wall. Will never stay in a Drury property again
Review 122:I prefer to self park my car but that's not an option. Plus there is a "parking tax" added to the rate. i do understand that the space is limited and it's more efficient this way.
Review 123:The staff was very warm and inviting, they took time to help answer questions about the area, make suggestions on where to go eat and things to see in the area. Rebeca at the front desk was particularly helpful as she was able to get my mother in law to be on the same floor and just a few doors down. Then she was able help us extend the stay one additional night and not have to change the room, even though the hotel was sold out that night. The breakfast was good. Location was great as it's easy to walk to all the downtown points of interest- shops, museums... I will choose to stay there again if/when we go back.
Review 124:Wi Fi is free, but unsecure. we were unwilling to use system.
Review 125:Location, Location, Location. Everything was very clean, as it should be w/ a new hotel.
Review 126:The only thing I didn't like was that I found everything offered for breakfast to be much too dry.
Review 127:Almost everything about this hotel was perfect: the room design and size, the staff, the comfort of the bed, the bathroom facilities, the central location, the cleanliness of the room, complimentary happy hour. I loved my couch and all of the pillows on the bed!! There's also a good French restaurant right across the street.
Review 128:Poor signage, mandatory valet parking that had not been listed on booking.com, tried to put me in a (no bathtub) room a grade down from the "soaking tub, two queen beds" that I had pre-paid on booking.com. Hotel still under construction. Cones and tape everywhere. Staff overly communicative about the difficulties of their jobs.
Review 129:Nice bathroom, although soap and shower dispensers were only in shower stall, not in separate bath. Great location.
The Fine Print
Please note that the Drury Plaza Hotel only offers valet parking. Please note that the height restriction for covered parking is 8 feet 3 inches.Rooms with pets will be charged a daily cleaning fee of 15 USD per room plus tax. Service animals are welcome free of charge. Limit of two pets per room.
