Reviews for Lamplighter Lodge
Review 1:Spent 4 nights there. Staff disappeared most of the time - the office was closed. The vacancy sign was left illuminated and people kept turning up to the closed office looking for accommodation. Just seemed an odd way to run a business. The town of Panguitch shuts down on Sundays, so make sure you buy provisions and meals beforehand.
Review 2:Friendly service and quiet location.
Review 3:Not the warmest welcome; ladies - there is no hairdryer! Wifi signal was weak in the room that we were in (although we had been warned). Soft beds!
Review 4:Perfect location for Bryce Canyon!
Review 5:The room furniture was very old and sparse and the decoration was poor and very dated. The bathroom was pink! No investment has been made in the property for a long time.
Review 6:Comfortable bed, quiet location and very reasonable price.
Review 7:Room was old and worn. Light fixture was a bulb hanging from ceiling. Hold in wall in shower. Air conditioner cover was on floor. Wind blew right through window.
Review 8:AC/heat didn't work. Minimal ammenities: no kleenex, only one small bar of soap for shower, no soap for the sink, very inexpensive plastic cups, no coffee maker or coffee, no cups to microwave water. Carpet was very worn.
Review 9:The office closed at 10:00 but we were running late so they arranged for us to get the key and check in the next day. Nice pots of flowers outside.
Review 10:The motel is up for sale and it seemed that the owners have lost interest in it. The grounds, such as they were, were sadly neglected.
Review 11:As a transit motel it served its purpose...no more.
Review 12:The place is up for sale & not staffed full time. There is no coffee ice or muffins now as previous reviewers mentioned. It is badly in need of repairs & updating. I think it is time for the owners to close it.
Review 13:The staff member was friendly and helpful when there.
Review 14:An older place that could use some fixes like wallboard holes, bad hinges, and broken lights. If they were to spend about $50 on simple and quick room repairs it would help.
Review 15:The owners were nice and helpful. They also own an outstanding steakhouse nearby and guests get a nice discount.
Review 16:The carpets were vacuumed but older and looked dirty.
Review 17:The rooms were so big and spacious. We liked having a fridge and a microwave because we have to bring our own food to eat because of diabetes and celiac.
Review 18:Very messy and dirty front-desk area gives a overall bad impression. Tiny and very run down rooms, with a bad and "old" smell.
Review 19:Easy access from the main street. Relatively cheap. Friendly staff.
Review 20:A friend and I stayed at the Lamplighter Lodge for two nights during our visit of the national parks in the area (Zion and Bryce Canyon). We experienced it as a cozy, quiet and comfortable motel, run by a friendly and competent family. Don't go in expecting a sleek, faceless motel-chain feel: the people are personable, the building and rooms are rather old, built in 1947 as the proprietor told us, but well-kept and clean. WiFi worked flawlessly, too. When we had a small problem with the heating, the patron of the family personally fixed it within minutes. We'd stay at Lamplighter Lodge again in a heartbeat. Addendum: As most people, I assume, are looking at this establishment as a base for Bryce Canyon: the approximately 30-minute drive to the entrance of the national park isn't lost time; it leads through a beautiful national forest, a sneak peak of what awaits you in the park itself.
Review 21:The bed is uncomfortable and the heating unit is extremely loud. My friends next door to us has diffcculty open the door as it gets stuck with the lock.
Review 22:The price is reasonable at a decent location to Bryce Canyon
Review 23:1st night was put next to a room who's occupant ran a cpap breathing machine on and off all night. Not much sleeping to be had the first night.
Review 24:Comfortable with a great location to hot fishing spots. Staff made accomodations for my late check in time and also changed my room location due to noisy neighbors without issue
Review 25:Absolutely nothing at that price, you can only grumble when your being overcharged for the service. Go ahead make her day book her out.
Review 26:Very Friendly staff, nice room with fridge,WIFI, TV, breakfast, close the towns amenities and very cheap. I asked the owner was she happy with the profits and she said yes so why do so many charge like wounded buffalo
Review 27:Exterior needs paint touch up. Wifi very slow. Morning coffee could be improved.
Review 28:Manager was really personable and helpful. Morning muffins were excellent. Rooms very simple but clean and quiet. Bed was firm and very comfortable. Slept very well. Panguitch is a charming and friendly little town.
Review 29:none!
Review 30:I liked localization, spacious room, clean white towels, complimentary coffee and muffins even though it was not offered when booking, nice and helpful staff; refrigerator, lots of channels on cable tv, quiet motel, wifi, supermarket next to the hotel; flower pots in front of the rooms added extra adorable look :)
Review 31:Nothing it was great. These other bad reviews are honestly insane
Review 32:Kim checked us in and was so nice and helpful. Room was perfect, good size, clean, comfortable, warm, good water pressure, mini fridge and microwave, good wifi, great location between zion and bryce
Review 33:nothing
Review 34:Teh manager was very nice and helpful. The room was very basic but clean and had everything I needed for the night. Great muffins and coffee in the morning.
Review 35:Clean, comfortable, quiet, friendly, plenty of hot water. Homemade muffins and fresh coffee in the morning. An old-fashioned motor inn at a very affordable price. The mints in the room were a pleasant added amenity that the major chains don't offer anymore, even at 3 times the price (or more)!
Review 36:There were no cups in which to drink water. We had an ice bucket and plastic bag, but no cups to use. I had to rinse my mouth with the cup I had purchased a drink at the drive in that I saved. I thought that was weird that we didn't have any cups. Most hotels have these.
Review 37:Easy to get to.
Review 38:The room only had 2 bath towels and 2 washcloths, no towel rack and very old fashioned bathroom.
Review 39:The price was very good, but you get what you pay for. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the Internet was good. The TV was nice, but no channel guide to use the cable system.
Review 40:I liked Very little. No room in bathroom to put stuff. No table to put computer on to work. Tiny frig and microwave sitting on only table in room. Very lumpy bed.
Review 41:Very Friendly office staff.
Review 42:I stayed for 3 nights at Lamplighter Motel in Panguitch, Utah, for a “glamping” trip to Bryce Canyon. I met Manager Kim at check-in. She is so pleasant, friendly and full of information about the area. When you visit, take a few minutes to chat with her! The Motel has about 13 rooms; very cute horseshoe-shaped motel area. There is a gas station with a Subway on one side of the Motel and a Dollar General store on the other; great location within Panguitch, although the town is small and walkable, if you have a lot of gumption. My room had 2 comfortable queen beds, dual sinks outside the toilet area, a small microwave & refrigerator and satellite television. All parts of the room were clean, except for a few spots on the carpet. The ice machine was not working, but the Office had a bag of ice that they shared with me, In the morning, the Office offered coffee and donuts/muffins; a great surprise and something that is new for them and not noted on the websites. I will definitely stay again!
Review 43:Big rooms, comfortable bed, great breakfast with fresh muffins, donuts and coffee. Good position for visiting Bryce Canyon (about 30 minutes by car).
Review 44:Nothing.
Review 45:Good price compared with motels at Bryce. Older style motel but well presented and the staff are wonderful. Generous supply of coffee, hot chocolate and wonderfully fresh muffins for breakfast.
Review 46:More breakfast would be cool.
Review 47:The price was great and the quality is reflected in the price. It is a motel, not a Marriott so it was exactly what I expected. Clean, quiet, quick.
Review 48:had to switch refrigerators; ours didn't work, air conditioning very loud-only one speed, toilet kept running-had trouble getting it to stop, tv remote volume didn't work
Review 49:beds were comfortable, close to Bryce Canyon
Review 50:Older facility
Review 51:Very nicely kept
Review 52:the carpet could have been cleaned or replaced.
Review 53:It was clean and affordable.
Review 54:The room was sub standard and no where near the rating. Paid for two nights could only stay for one. Worst hotel in our two month visit to USA.
Review 55:Not all equipment worked and no repairman available during our stay.
Review 56:Nice hotel clerk.
Review 57:Carpet was stained. Outside was a mess. Dirty around ice maker. Poor overall.
Review 58:Check in person was helpful. Bed was comfortable.
Review 59:The room was quite dark and a little bit cold, but with sleeping bag it was OK.
Review 60:OK for one night sleepover. Spacious room.
Review 61:older motel in need of upgrade. Clean though. Ok for price. I would have stayed at a higher price hotel to get better but they were full.
Review 62:Stuffy room.
Review 63:Old place, for sale....no place to hang even the towel in the bathroom...
Review 64:The value for the nice room
Review 65:Older facility, could use some upgrades.
Review 66:Simple, comfortable and clean room, great location to nearby National Parks.
Review 67:Great value in a nice clean little town. Comfortable, quiet, and next to Dollar Store for convenience items needed. Great value!
Review 68:Location
Review 69:Wifi was not working perfectly
Review 70:Amazing real american city! Very nice lodge with microwave fridge and a nice table to have breakfast!
Review 71:Basic clean comfortable room and construction that makes for a quiet room.
Review 72:חוץ ממיטות לא היה כלום
Review 73:Bathroom was kind of small
Review 74:Das Motel ist ziemlich abgewohnt. Es steht aktuell zum Verkauf.
Review 75:Had everything needed including fridge and microwave. Lovely soft and white sheets, towels big, white and fluffy.
Review 76:TV. Bed, Air Conditioning.
Review 77:Internet
Review 78:The bed is not that comfortable, the heating system is old and is not very good.
Review 79:The small town and the staffs
Review 80:Room very cozy, manager very nice.
Review 81:clean, friendly staff, good value
Review 82:All good
Review 83:Nice clean motel close to national park. Town has all facilities that you need. Nice muffins in the morning. Great place to stay.
Review 84:The staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and quiet.
Review 85:Reasonably priced Large clean room with a table to eat at. Friendly staff. Yummy muffins and coffee in the morning.
Review 86:Bed a bit soft, bouncy. Light outside window too bright at night.
Review 87:Courteous and very friendly. Great breakfast muffins. Convenient.
Review 88:Older motel and has not been upgraded in some time.
Review 89:Centrally located. Friendly Staff. Coffee and muffins in morning.
Review 90:nice hotel, clean and comfortable
Review 91:no coffeemaker in room, office was closed most of time, receptionist of no help,
Review 92:Nothing
Review 93:Very friendly staff, very helpful, especially when we called on them outside regular hours. Spacious room, double vanities in the room, with tub and toilet in a separate space, we found this quite handy. If one is in the area to visit parks and canyons, then Lamplighter is a very good place to stay. Excellent value for money.
Review 94:Cigarette butts in the bin outside. Heater did not work. Flowers needed trimming of last years growth.
Review 95:It was a nice big room for us to spread out as we were getting ready to do a 5 day backpack.
Review 96:People that were in the room next to us were very noisy but other thanthat no complaints..
Review 97:It was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, nice area, andloved the restaurants were with in walking distance too.
Review 98:no breakfast
Review 99:Location, good value for money, good choice for exploring Bryce canyon NP Месторасположение, хорошее соотношение цена-качество, хороший выбор для поездок в Брайс каньон
Review 100:Decoration and furniture is outdated, but functional and clean. Keep in mind that there is no breakfast included, but what do expect for the price.
Review 101:Very friendly staff. Charming place to stay. Good price vs quality.
Review 102:low level room (even for a motel). Main issue: the Bathroom door was broken; couldn't close it; we asked to change room but the lady said the motel was full; still the "vacancies" sign was on late that evening. Panguitch is plenty of motels; pick another one.
Review 103:TV was able to tune in one channel only; a 2h hours product advertising channel.. Air cond. was very noisy. Heater doesn''t work. There were 2 mornings I wished it did.
Review 104:Staff did respond promptly to problems. Eg on one afternoon, the hot water heating system (in a room next to mine) was generating loud noise & vibrations. When I notified the staff, the problem was rectified very quickly.
Review 105:Rooms are a bit shabby, but ok nonetheless. Not the cleanest room wegot. Everything in town closes early. No one there for check out, thoughfor most this should not be a problem.
Review 106:Free Parking, Free Wifi. Very friendly personnel. Close to subwayand one restaurant. Closes town from Bryce canyon. Probably bettermotels close to Bryce Canyon, but no room left when we reserved, orvery expensive. In comparison this hotel had a very goodprice/quality ratio.
Review 107:Wifi connection was dramatic, airconditioning was very noisy and dirty, pillows were uncomfortable, loud talking people in the middle of the night, couldn't get a receipt of our stay, very expensive compared to other motels and services.
Review 108:Large room, good location (30 minutes drive to Bryce Canyon/ Cedar park)
Review 109:Ice machine out of order, the room needs some refresh
Review 110:Good welcome, no so far from Bryce, quiet, a lot of space in the room, Equipment (freezer, coffee), cleanliness, good recommandation and reduced price for the dinner,
Review 111:Really needs a lot of work. No toilet paper holder had to put tissue onthe floor to use. Very unsanitary, eweee. No towel rack either. Sad.Pillows really need to be replace. Ripped bedspread. Noisy and I meanReally Noisy Refrig. And Plugs in the wall; if you want to usemicrowave, you had to unplug a light. If you want to use coffee makerunplug the clock or microwave or light your choice. Really didn'tlike seeing owners small grandchildren cleaning room, just didn'tseem right.
Review 112:Where it was located. I must say that the owners tried to help.
Review 113:shabby, no ice available, one channel on TV, air conditioner noisy, refrig door didn't shut, Wi-Fi not reliable, no shelf in bathroom, shower inadequate, no tp holder, bare light bulb hanging from ceiling
Review 114:clean comfortable bed
Review 115:Very basic motel. No breakfast. Room smaller than the average motel room. Good value though for the cost.
Review 116:Very friendly staff. Convenient to Bryce National Park .
Review 117:This is a very basic motel. The showerhead was about 4"6" so, at 5'2" I had to duck to get my head under it. There was only one towel bar--above the toilet. No counter space in bathroom except the toilet top & a small glass shelf above the sink. No ice machine; you could only get ice when the office was open. Official office hours were 3-10 p.m. Carpet was a bit dirty. This is a vintage motel.
Review 118:The staff was friendly. The vintage bathtub was deep and wide. Hot water was easily available and abundant. The room had a fridge and microwave. While the room was not spacious, there was room to lay out my yoga mat. The managers let us freeze some extra ice containers for our cooler, and they were around more than the official office hours. Pros and cons to this motel. I'd say the pros won, but not by much.
Review 119:Very comfortable beds. Good shower. Fridge and microwave. Quiet. 15 miles from Bryce Canyon with easy drive. Food and supermarket close by. Good place to stay for a few days while exploring Bryce, without spending $100+ a night.
Review 120:Checked in, asked for the best room, got the one closest to the road so you could hear all the traffic. The condition of the bathroom was poor. Hard to use toilet in the position it was in. Wall peeling and mildew around the tub. No double locks on the door and door had a window in it. Quiet town, but I tied my door shut for safety. WIFI worked if you "stood" at the window or stayed in the car only. If they send you to their restaurant in town, don't go. Expensive and not very good. Tried three of there entrees and all were terrible! Sides were somewhat decent.
Review 121:The price was good, but the conditions were lacking. Bed was comfortable.
Review 122:Location. Affordable
Review 123:Room was a bit small but certainly adequate.
Review 124:Good location and easy to find. Staff was wonderful and very helpful.
