Reviews for Williamsburg Plantation Resort

Review 1:The price is WAY too high for the value given. We were especially irritated that on top of the excessive prices -- the wi-fi was not free and that it, too, was over-priced.

Review 2:The exterior of the facility was mostly pristine.

Review 3:The only thing that was mot so good was paid for wifi that did nor work ok during the evenings.

Review 4:Hotel location is excelent very close to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Our unit was perfectly clean, veery spacious, comfortable and really made us feel at home. The hotel ammenities are great. Very recommendable.

Review 5:Only dislike was first visit when staff was aggressive and misleading about free breakfast and deals. They are a timeshare so that is to be expected but they do flat out lie about time they will keep you so just avoid them all together and tell them no thanks. We have not had any issues since.

Review 6:We have stayed here on multiple occasions and always have had clean rooms and very enjoyable stays. Very close to Colonial Williansburg attractions.

Review 7:We booked 2 rooms back in August. Just before going to Williamsburg we called the resort asking to have our 2 rooms close to each other and found out that they have only 1 room booked for us. Called Booking.com and confirmed that we suppose to have 2 rooms. But at the RESORT was only 1 room for us. Half of our family didn't go on the trip. Our Christmas vacation was not perfect this year. Next time we will be going to the different resort in Williamsburg for not to have issues like this.

Review 8:Location. Size of the room.

Review 9:The couch was uncomfortable. The jacuzzi tub didn't work. The living room and master bedroom tv's were small. The booklet for surrounding restaurants and coupons was out dated. Places that said delivery in the booklet no longer deliver. Room service food was horrible.

Review 10:The rate we got through booking.com. Having the appliances and kitchen necessities. The size of the room.

Review 11:there were basic 'construction' issues that need addressed for a 'quality' unit. (ex. the shower handle was loose and not properly attached to the wall)

Review 12:convenient location nice layout of facility, with nearby rooms occupied with families traveling with us. condo was comfortable and clean

Review 13:The fact that we were not able to stay longer.

Review 14:The very first thing that really amazed us was the housekeeping. Never had sheets and towels as clean and white at any place we've stayed before. We had a problem with icemaker in freezer upon arrival, called maintenance and they replaced unit with a new one. Great job. Staff at check-in was very nice. I hate giving this place such a great review. It may be booked next time I want to stay...lol

Review 15:We didn't like the lack of an oven/cook top. They provided a hot plate that was very tired and the right burner would not provide sufficient heat to boil eggs. Poor arrangement.

Review 16:Good price and location.

Review 17:I loved everything.

Review 18:I liked the cleanest of the plantation. It's in a area where you don't have to travel so far to get somewhere. Most of all l liked the quietest.

Review 19:The only small problem was that the bed was a little firm for my liking and the blanket on the the bed had seen better days.

Review 20:This is my third stay at the Williamsburg Plantation and I always feel safe at this property. It's always clean and the front desk staff is always friendly and helpful.

Review 21:The desk staff should be more helpful to out of state visiters in trying to find sites in the area. It's very confusing and a little guidance goes a long way.

Review 22:A very comfortable apartment with a jaccuzzi tub in the bathroom. I used it 2 of 4 nights.

Review 23:game room small, having to pay for internet

Review 24:Staff Friendly and very helpful. Great location, close to everything, quiet, building was in good spot w/balcony. Easy to access in and out.

Review 25:We stayed in a lower level property and could literally hear every step that was made by the upper level property occupants. This was very annoying and I do not recommend the lower level. Additionally, our hot water ran out before everyone could shower. The property did not provide Free WIFI. It has been a very long time since we stayed any where and WIFI was not free.

Review 26:The property was very nice and clean in the inside.

Review 27:No free WiFi? That seems silly, and unable to connect to the it anyway. Had to use a personal hotspot to do research on the area for entertainment.

Review 28:Unit size was awesome and proximity to the historical area was perfect.

Review 29:I traveled with my toddler, so it was really important to have separate living and sleeping places, and Williamsburg Plantation was great for the price. I would definitely visit again.

Review 30:The mattress in the MBR was too soft, but that's a personal preference.

Review 31:The condo was large enough for two adult families, esp. The BR and BA. It was nicely furnished with essentials, such as cleaners, paper products. I liked having a washer/dryer available. The bed linens had a nice silky feel. The area was quiet and well lit. We would return again!

Review 32:The only thing I didn't like was no free WiFi but it wasn't that bad because on a trip it's not about using the wifi it's about spending time with family so I was still happy

Review 33:I loved all the amenities as well as loved my jacuzzi in my master suite I enjoyed the staff as well they accommodated anything that I need as well as let me check in early to decorate my room for my husbands birthday! Thank you Williamsburg Plantation!

Review 34:WiFi should be free. Flat screen TVs but no HD cable service.

Review 35:New clean large resort close to Williamsburg Busch Gardens Yorktown & Jamestown with lots of amenities-indoor/outdoor pools tennis courts gym spa and dvd library. Large living-dining room w/fireplace, full kitchen, king bedroom and large bathroom. 2 TVs and a DVD player. Cute patio with dining table in warm weather.

Review 36:That it was a timeshare and the push to sit through a 45 min sales pitch. We didn't go and no one bothered us after we said no

Review 37:Very nice, plenty of room, great location!

Review 38:The pressure of doing time share. Rude staff when we opted out of tour because of amount of time it took for tour. Staff at hotel (Alisha ) was very kurt and rude when we ask for the ten dollars back. We opted out of your tour because we were convinced by staff that it indeed took more than 90 minutes for tour.

Review 39:Location the space of condo. Very clean

Review 40:They need to do some renovations and paint. There were spider webs in my tub, and toilet was not completely clean!!!! I had to pay for wifi, and they tell you there's a $100 security deposit that you don't get charged for if there are no damages. I had a $100 charge that I had to call to have removed.

Review 41:Very convenient location. Nice suites. I like the option of having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Review 42:I did not like being on the 2nd floor. My husband had a hard time getting up the stairs. Also, there was pet urine on the wall when we walked in the front door of the town home. It was kinda gross and I did let the front desk know about it

Review 43:I liked the lay out of the town home

Review 44:No free WIFI.

Review 45:The layout of unit, quiet. Quick response of upon arrival we discovered the AC unit was having a hiccup, maintenance was called we left for dinner and room was a perfect temp upon our return. Thank you staff.

Review 46:Grills were sparse for outdoor grilling with the amount of people in each unit. No oven in the room.

Review 47:Excellent staff. Traveled with children ranging from 15-8 . Activities at the clubhouse were great for the kids. Everyone had a great time.

Review 48:What I didn't like was: *partial kitchen for staying 3 nights we needed a full kitchen; All units should have full kitchens *Charge for extra and refreshed towels: I was told to wash them or pay; First of all, I could have stayed home if I wanted to wash towels; Most hotels and area resorts refresh towels at no charge; After all, this is a vacation resort. *Curtains in rooms should be flexible to cover the whole window. Curtains only covered the side of the window on each side. Lights from outside shone in and created a sleepless night. When I go and pay for a vacation, I am looking for a vacation/resort attitude. Amenities and services should be unlike what I am offered at home.

Review 49:The fitness center offered a variety of machines to work out on. It also had adequate quantity to support the demands of the resort.

Review 50:Having to pay for wifi. I travel a lot and this is very rare.

Review 51:We love the location and the fact that we have multiple families and we can be together.

Review 52:Internet is very slow and disconnects often - when I called for assistance I was disconnected at least 5 times from the IT help center - I was expecting better with the $49 extra fee I had to pay The bathroom by the pool was not maintained well

Review 53:Staff was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable

Review 54:There was No stove nor oven. Hot plate and microwave was Not on thewebsite. Had to have a car to enjoy the pool. And $6 for extra towelswith a $600 bill for 3 nights is ridiculous should have stayed at aregular motel would have costed a bit more but we wouldn't have beenwet waiting on Nana to do laundry

Review 55:It was big enough for grandparents and our son's family

Review 56:I reserved the suite on-line for full price. Was unable to get in via Interval International, so I paid full price. When we checked in, it was after an unexpectedly ling drive. I was pushed into a "breakfast" for timeshare owners. We rearranged our schedulefor this, but when we got there, we all apparently were bot invited. Someone expected us to leave 3 members of our group behind while we went to a breakfast. Needless to say I was so very embarassed when we got there! Did your people expect me to tell the rest of my family to go away and pick us up later? I don't think so. I will not stay at one of your resorts again. That was an awful experence. The cost of wifi was unconscionable. No excuse for it at all. I've stayed at very inexpensive motels that had free wifi. Small coffee houses, etc have free wifi. To have a place in a category that you are aspiring to have bo free wifi is amazingly stupid. Tgat should be an assumption, like haing television stations. Also, the very, very small gym without even the most basic of small double hand weights, like a set of 2/1lb, 2/2lb, 2/4 lb, 2/6/lb, 2/8lb, 2/10 lb. but more than 5 people in that room was just uncomfortable.

Review 57:Thr facility appeared clean and the room was comfortable

Review 58:I paid for wifi totally not worth it! I kept losing connection and had to keep logging back in. Towards the end of our stay new neighbors came in and played there tv very loud all night long. But other than that great place to stay.

Review 59:Nice and roomy for large family's. Full kitchen helped us save money in food cost!

Review 60:The only negatives were that the alarm clock went off at midnight our first night - in both rooms. I also wish there was some sort of restaurant within the resort.

Review 61:The accommodations worked really well for our young family. Clean, spacious, great pool, lovely grounds, minutes from lots of attractions.

Review 62:Because we ended up getting there later than anticipated... It was around 10:30-11pm, I asked if I could get a late checkout and was told No. We had been traveling all day and wxhausted and 10 am was a bit early to check out... Especially for the money I was paying because wanted to get use out of the extras like the jacuzzi tub and sauna but that was difficult having to check out so early. Also, there were a few rude staff members. But there were still a few that were a few super friendly ones.

Review 63:The outdoor pool is very nice and a good size. The in room sauna and jacuzzi tub were great. I didn't get to experience much else because of time constraints.

Review 64:Wish there was free wifi Wish there was a mini golf on site. A little disappointed not to see a guard in the shack at all times. Other resorts have them 24 hours.

Review 65:Loved the cleanliness and wonderful air condition that we could control. The stuff I wrote for my dislikes would not keep me from still coming here in the future. Great job Williamsburg Plantation.

Review 66:Severely out dated. Dryer was broken, bathroom sink drain broken. There was lots of hair on the pillow cases. A little more attention would have changed my experience..

Review 67:The place was very large. It had a nice kitchen and 2 DVDs players.

Review 68:The Plantation's game room was only 3 games which you had yo pay for. We were at another resort that had 2 game rooms (30+) all free for the kids. The pool was smaller so it was crowded.

Review 69:The 2 bedroom deluxe was very spacious and modern. Very clean!

Review 70:Didn't like the beds. Just to sit on the bed or roll over was very noisy. Would have liked dryer sheets for the dryer and clean towels during the stay but other than that the facilities were great!

Review 71:Nothing negative

Review 72:The staff was polite, helpful. The 2 bedroom superior suite was gorgeous. Amenities were grest, and the price was unbelievable! location also perfect.

Review 73:Only complaint was that one of our chairs on the balcony was broken and the coffee pot lid was broken. Not enough to discourage us from returning or recommending to others.

Review 74:We loved the room we were in. Loved it was on the second floor and right next to the laundry. The amenities were great and the kids loved the activities.

Review 75:I didn't like the fact you had to remove all of your trash before leaving, run the dishwasher or the fact there isn't a maid service. Also, we were on the top unit and with small children who run, prance, and have fun the unit under ours seemed to complain starting before 8pm. I would suggest getting a first floor unit if you have small children, as you can hear everything underneath.

Review 76:The location is very convenient to everything! Just a short drive to practically anywhere you go. The room was huge! Very clean with all amenities you can imagine.

Review 77:Shower had soft spot in floor. Felt like it was ready to cave in at any minute. Door to deck was very hard to open/close. Railing broken on deck.

Review 78:Amenities, space, location.

Review 79:We didn't like that there was no free wifi. Also, we were not informed about being able to have breakfast there.

Review 80:We loved the big pool with lots of shade.

Review 81:Room carpets and decor was dated though clean. Could use freshening up.

Review 82:Liked the location, the facilities, indoor/outdoor pools, game room, lots of room to take walks and relax. Peaceful setting near sights.

Review 83:Our air conditioning was kinda messed up a few days so it wasn't that cool on some hot days but they worked to fix it both times. Also, found some random hairs in the bathtub before I went to use it.

Review 84:I love that you can relax, make your own meals but still go out to eat too if you want. Everyone is so friendly and there is a lot to do! We definitely love coming because it so relaxing.

Review 85:The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom did not work very well. The jets had no force at all. The carpets were nice, but seemed like they needed to be cleaned. You walk around the rooms in your socks for about an hour and the bottoms of your socks were very dirty looking. The bed could have been more comfortable too.

Review 86:Spacious rooms with great kitchen. Being able to cook some of your own meals helps save money.

Review 87:There were not enough towels and washcloths for our five day visit. To get more there was a 6 dollar charge. Even budget hotels furnish clean towels each day and empty the trash.

Review 88:The unit was very comfortable and went beyond out expectations.

Review 89:I didn't like the fact that wi-fi was around $10 per day and that there was no complimentary breakfast. Most places we stay have free wi-fi and continental breakfast.

Review 90:Value since there were 5 adults and we would have had to get 3 separate rooms had I not found this suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and sleeper sofa. Worked perfectly for my family.

Review 91:The staff did nothing to go out of their way to make our stay memorable. This was our first time on the East Coast and they where made aware of that prior to arrival. We saw other people getting tours of the facility and offered meals and activities. We were handed maps and sent in our way.

Review 92:Spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, and great price.

Review 93:The only thing i would change is to add a range/stove and offer free wifi like everyone else. $10/day is pretty ridiculous when i can get it free at mcdonalds.

Review 94:The 2 bedroom suite was fantastic.

Review 95:We were awakened in the middle of the night by another couple coming in, having been checked in and given keys to our room. Then our own room keys were invalidated and we got locked out. Upon arrival we discovered the toilet flushing mechanism was broken, there was no complimentary wi-fi, and we had to provide a $100 security deposit hold that will not be released for weeks (versus a day or two). Nothing but a weak "I'm sorry" from a desk clerk to whom we reported the problem on check-out.

Review 96:The unit was spacious.

Review 97:Needed more ventilation at indoor pool area.

Review 98:It felt as though we had our own house there. We had lots of room, beautiful decor in condo. Quiet and very comfortable. Close to lots of attractions.

Review 99:Our room Looked like it was being repainted. Trim had just been nailed up, not painted in bathroom. No hairdryer in master, no towel hooks in master. No stove. Hard to control air conditioning to a comfortable temp. Needs to be updated, living room furniture and carpet.

Review 100:the pool and jucuzzi were 2 cold the jucuzzi had way 2 much chlorine and it was Easter they really didn't have enough activities

Review 101:The beds were comfortable it nice amount of space.

Review 102:Prepaid for room on booking. com. Showed up in evening with confirmation mumber, vallid credit car, and in date driver's license for ID. it took front desk clerk 20 mins and phone calls to get me checked in. She blamed it on the "new" computer system whicjh is hard to brieve since I've stayed at this 3 other times in the last 2 weeks for business. When you arrivre late but at pre motified tome un booking, with all info resevation email says ti have in hand when chrcking in, one dies not expect it tio be a lanorious process to make an easy security deposit and get your room keys. Overall check in experience unsat.

Review 103:Spacious room.

Review 104:I did not like the fact that Wifi was not free. We also were not happy that we had to pay $6.00 to get clean towels. We knew the units had washers and dryers upstairs, but for a 3 or 4 night stay I am not going to do laundry.

Review 105:I loved all the amenities that were offered. If the weather kept us from going to the parks, there were lots of things to do inside.

Review 106:The place is not dirty but looks dingy. A bit outdated. We had to open the windows all of the first day to remove the smell of "oldness"

Review 107:The location is ideal. Close to everything. The space for a small family is great.

Review 108:Need brighter lighting in the rooms. Carpeting could have been cleaner.

Review 109:Suite was the perfect size for our family of 5. Resort was crowded. Pool was closed for repairs 1 of our 2 days.

Review 110:The main bed and pull out sofa bed were not the most comfortable but they were adequate. TV remote in room did not work.

Review 111:The one bedroom unit was clean and had everything needed to cook. The appliances and pots were great! I was pleasantly surprised. We were upstairs and never heard any noise from other units.

Review 112:I'm not sure if unit hasn't been used in a while, but there were ants in the unit, light bulbs burnt out, and a broken lamp. The attention to those little details was over looked. Also the pool could be crowded and the hot tub was only available for kids 16 years old or older.

Review 113:It ua a great value and a great space for our family. It was very convenient to have a washer/dryer availability. It was perfect for our large family.

Review 114:I booked this knowing it was a time share. I have stayed in other time shares, but have not had an experience like this. You have pay separately if you want housekeeping to take out your trash, change linens, and receive fresh towels. We had to wash our own towels!! I also$5/night for a pack-and-play. Wifi is an additional $50/week. What's the point of vacation if you have to make your own bed and don't have fresh towels?

Review 115:Pretty property, plenty of space if traveling with a family.

Review 116:old appliances in kitchen, nails needed reset in small deck area of our unit. Checking in our young man talked so fast and he didn't want to answer questions, When you go to get parking passes they cut you off short if you don't agree to a timeshare showing.

Review 117:indoor pool, location, beds

Review 118:Workout room needs updated treadmills. Two of the 3 treads are terrible.

Review 119:The staff was great and the resort was clean. It was a great environment for family time. This was my second time there, can't wait to plan my next stay.

Review 120:I didn't like that the property didn't have free wifi (not sure if that is advertised), The indoor pool was crowed but it was in need of TLC (the bathroom and common areas were really dirty). They have a 10:00am check-out which sucks, lastly checking out I didn't find the staff as friendly as the night auditor.

Review 121:When I checked in the night auditor was very friendly and helpful. The unit that my family and I had was a 2 bedroom on the top level it was very clean and spacious. The resort is located in the middle of everything. I have stayed at other Williamsburg resorts and this is by far the best. They offer free coffee and have a vending machine on site, I like that they have a spa although I didn't get to try it. I also love how they have multiple playgrounds on the property.

Review 122:Dumpster was difficult to find. Would like to have more laundry detergent.

Review 123:We were much later than anticipated so I called to verify we were coming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was quiet and comfy. Enough kitchen wear to make simple meals.

Review 124:The staff in the office wasn't inviting at all. I had to ask for help after standing in office at least 5minutes.

Review 125:The maintanece man was helpful when car trouble assistance was needed.

Review 126:There was no remote to our fire place so we could not enjoy that and the temperature must me set really low for the hot water heater because using our spa tub was very disappointing it was luke warm at best. Had it not been so late we would have called to see if something could be done instead we just boiled water to heat it up with but that pretty much took the relaxation part away.

Review 127:Roomy, great bed, quite, clean.

Review 128:The reservation had to be booked online. After completing the registration, they did not add the additional names of guests as requested. I called the resort to ensure everything was finalized for my out of town guests and they still didn't have one of the guests names in their system. My guest called the resort prior to arrival and was told he didn't have a reservation. Upon arrival, my guest was asked for a form of payment after my credit card was on file. The following day, they checked him out ananomously and still charged his card and had to wait 30 minutes to be changed, even when I was the only customer in the lobby.

Review 129:The apartment was spacious, well furnished, and immaculate. Everything we needed was provided. The staff were welcoming and very helpful; help was cheerfully given. The grounds were beautifully kept. In all, the Plantation looked as if it was lovingly cared for.

Review 130:Spare blanket, pillow, and mattress pad found folded up on top closet shelf were "soiled", really "soiled". Cleaning staff should be told.... Other than items found in closet, very clean. Shower stall in large master bedroom is very small. Don't try to extend your arms at same time, not enough room!

Review 131:The property was very nice. Bed was comfortable! No noise from rooms next door or below. Privacy was good. We like the idea of gated entrance after dark. Staff in lobby very cordial and helpful. We would definitely come again.

Review 132:Inability to negotiate later checkout time.

Review 133:The resort offered us the option of cooking in (hot plate and microwave only) and making our own schedule. There is no maid service, but it was worth the lower price not to have it. The apartment was large, comfortable and equipped with great tv's and bathrooms. The spa was not cheap but outstanding.

Review 134:The pillows and the fact there weren't many. the tv in the main room was hard to hear even on max.... the fact that i had to clean to get my deposit back. If im on vacation and paying over 250 for a weekend why do i have to clean.

Review 135:How spacious everything was and that there was a balcony. Bathroom was nice.

Review 136:Indoor pool is small and can get crowded fast. I also wish that check out was a bit later. I do not mind cleaning up and running dishes etc but when you are trying to get everything out by 10am with two preschoolers it can be tough. I do not have teenagers but I was one and I don't think I would have been any happier with that time.

Review 137:We love staying here because of the value of getting a 2 bedroom two bathroom for the price we paid cannot be beat. We love to come down a couple times a year and this is one of our first choices.

Review 138:The wifi was really slow and was difficult to get on after making purchase. Had to call the help desk to resolve the problem the next morning.

Review 139:The kitchen amenities.

Review 140:It's not that I didn't like this, but it was strange that there was coffee for only one morning and there were no teabags for us non-coffee drinkers. This is just something to think about, really not a criticism.

Review 141:The accommodations were wonderful. The master bathroom was great and the location of the property was very good for what we wanted.

Review 142:Located on a very busy road, there was also a very loud train that went by at 3:30 every morning. As far as resort amenities, it was nice that they had a lounge area with coffee and brochures of local attractions, but other areas were lacking. The game room consisted of 4 games, no lounge chairs at indoor pool. Not deal breakers for us, just something we noticed. The front desk was extremely busy when we went to check in, all of the staff were also answering phones while checking people in, after a 12 hour drive we wanted to just check in and get to our room. Maybe having someone assigned only to phones during busy times would be better.

Review 143:Went for a relaxing anniversary vacation away, got exactly what we ordered. The spa tub is wonderful to have to soothe sore legs after walking for miles around Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. Surprised to see that our deluxe suite had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was definitely a very clean and relaxing environment. Nice to have own patio, private entrance, kitchen was great. Also nice to have another DVD player in the bedroom. It was a great value for the money. The furniture was a little dated, but I think that is going along with the "colonial" decor.

Review 144:Having to dump our own trash at the dumpster

Review 145:Play ground for small children, clean large size swimming pool, movie rental, great 2 bedroom suite with room for a blended family
