Reviews for Guadalupe Inn
Review 1:Great location for a meeting at the Bataan Memorial Bldg. Very comfortable room; loved the nice warm wooden floors to walk barefoot on. A very satisfying breakfast on real dishes with the best coffee I have had in a long time.
Review 2:Shower head high, would help to have shower cap available. No place in shower to put soap and/or shampoo bottle.
Review 3:Beautiful and very comfortable room. Great location - walked to the Plaza in the snow. Loved the place! Will definitely come back.
Review 4:We liked everything!
Review 5:Nice place to stay! Friendly and accommodating staff/owners. Fireplace and jacuzzi tub in room with a balcony. Free breakfast with fireplace downstairs. Walking distance to restaurant and shops. Cool history of the property!
Review 6:I would've loved to stayed here longer.
Review 7:We stayed in the junior suite and it was decorated in a distinct pueblo style which was just lovely! The spa bath was a treat and everything was quality down to the gas log fire to all taps and fittings. It was spotlessly clean and breakfast was fantastic with home made muffins and cakes.
Review 8:No desk for my computer. TV cable did not include ESPN!
Review 9:Wonderful room: fireplace, oversize spa tub, private balcony, lots of light. Great location near the center of Santa Fe.
Review 10:Only complaint: in room #5, you could hear the pipes above.
Review 11:The warm welcome--both staff & facility. Location was perfect -- we could park at the inn and easily walk to all the downtown sites. The breakfast was good and served in a comfortable setting. Our room was spacious and clean.
Review 12:Upstairs room above us was a bit loud. Not the people. Just no sound dampening between rooms. (We were in room #8)
Review 13:Cozy, clean, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Have stayed many places in Santa Fe over the years including high end accommodations and felt the Guadalupe Inn was the best value for my money. We actually spent more time in our room than we anticipated because we enjoyed it so much.
Review 14:Put in a gate in back wall to provide easy access to Sanbusco Market and Railyards and this place is perfect.
Review 15:Excellent location, especially for the price. Friendly staff and very cozy room--even though it was a very cold night.
Review 16:Breakfast was adequate but not remarkable for a cold buffet. There were no comfortable chairs for the evening,
Review 17:The location is excellent. Close to downtown Santa Fe and easy walking distance to the plaza. The room was clean and the bed comfortable There was a small kitchen area. The breakfast area had a lovely fire.
Review 18:I wasn't overly impressed with the on site breakfast offerings but then again I'm not much of a breakfast person. They offered oatmeal, yogurt, coffee and some muffins. I had some orange juice in the morning but wasn't interested in anything else.
Review 19:You can't beat the Guadalupe's extremely reasonable price for an intimate residence just blocks away from Santa Fe's downtown plaza. There are only 12 rooms of which I've stayed in two. Each room is unique and well decorated with regionally inspired touches. The bathrooms are very nice and the inn provides off street parking for guests.
Review 20:Not easy to find the hotel at night, they need to put a light on the sign that faces the street. The office closes at 5pm so if you are arriving later you need to let them know via phone or email what time you will arrive.
Review 21:Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good (and included, unlike many in the area), and the rooms were large, comfortable and totally NOT cookie-cutter. Had a great Desert Southwest feel. I'd definitely stay again if in the area! Location near restaurants and bus shuttle a plus.
Review 22:How very comfortable the room was and how lovely the decor was done. Parking available making it convenient. The feeling of being in a home rather than an inn as everyone was very friendly and making a great effort to make the stay be an enjoyable one! Environment very New Mexico and authentic! Love the place! I also liked the continental breakfast and the dining rm.
Review 23:there was hair from previous tenant on the bathroom floor, the lights above the bed buzzed so didn't use them it was so loud, and they really need to adjust the radiant heat because everyone has to open windows and it waste's energy.
Review 24:great bed, nice decor, excellent location, decent breakfast
Review 25:n/a
Review 26:We had a very charming room. Beds were comfortable. The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming. We felt like a part of the family. Breakfast was delightful, both the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommend it.
Review 27:Noisy neighbors aimlessly wandering around outdoors and knocking on adjacent walls at extremely very early morning hours.
Review 28:Friendly and warm staff. Very home-y.
Review 29:Housekeeping didn't come through on Sunday, and we had a number of dirty towels we would have liked replaced.
Review 30:The location is awesome. Very easy walk to both the Plaza and the Railyard. Very friendly, helpfull staff.
Review 31:We were in a ground floor room. There is a lot of noise from the room above so if that is something you are sensitive to, request an upstairs room.
Review 32:This quiet property is very walkable to the plaza and area restaurants/shops. It's a cute property and the continental breakfast included yummy home baked muffins/pastries.
Review 33:Room facilities were good but our room had a shower over a bath that was rather high to step into. Not a big problem but a bit tricky if you are infirmed.
Review 34:This is a very well situated inn only a 10-15 min walk from downtown Santa Fe and close to cafes and restaurants. It is full of character and charm and the hosts/staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Review 35:Room was clean and charming and the little attached patio was a bonus. I liked the fact that the motel is hidden away on a semi-residential street and yet just around the corner from shops and restaurants. Staff was very nice, breakfast buffet more than adequate in a large, pleasant room. The whole place was quaint and had a very personal feel.
Review 36:Great location, near downtown, the complimentary breakfast is awesome, the staff are very friendly and the prices are totally realistic. Definitely would book here and recommend to friends. Seriously, homemade chili muffins for breakfast, they haunt my dreams.
Review 37:The bathroom was not cleaned daily, nor was the bed made daily. It appeared that the tables in the breakfast room were not cleaned after each family/person used them.
Review 38:The location is good as you're able to walk to most historical locations and museums.
Review 39:The motel was close to town, yet in a non noisy area. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The price was reasonable. The staff was very helpful and responsive. Within walking distance of a number of interesting places to eat and shop. Will definitely stay there again.
Review 40:this is the best deal in santa fe. sweet old motel in the quiet railroad district with about a 15 minute walk to the main part of town. very clean comfortable room with microwave, frig, and gas fireplace. it is a bit difficult to find as it is down a small ally-like road.
Review 41:The bed pillow was too firm for my personal preference.
Review 42:Guadalupe Inn was a terrific find! The charm of the small street, old city setting was great! I would return the next time I visit Sante Fe without a moment's hesitation.
Review 43:What a wonderful little inn! My husband and I stumbled across the Guadalupe Inn on a quick search of the interweb on the last night of a 13 day road trip... We made reservations an hour before checking in and were NOT disappointed! The room was adorable, and it smelled amazing! The comfortable bed, the clean hot shower... Exactly what we needed after so many nights of camping out!
Review 44:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Each room was decorated differently, and all of the rooms were very attractive. Many of the rooms had balconies or patios. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The inn is located within easy walking distance from the railyard, an interesting tourist area of Santa Fe.
Review 45:Beds were a little squeaky
Review 46:This is a great place to stay in Sant Fe! I've stayed at many hotels and B and Bs in SF and this one is the best. Great location, lovely rooms without carpeting, outside seating, wonderful staff and good prices.
Review 47:Nothing really. It is not exactly downtown, but it is an easy 10 minutes walk to there.
Review 48:The Inn is located in a quiet backyard. There is a simple, but good complimentary breakfast. Wifi worked without any problems and fast enough. The Inn is well kept and clean. The room was easily big enough. I didn't have a car, but there seems to be ample parking spaces available.
Review 49:broken light in bathroom
Review 50:Patio, bath tub, refigerator, microwave, fireplace, ceiling vigas, friendly staff. Great indian restaurant nearby. Downtown bus route on this street. Very historic location: El Camino Real del dentro ran on this street.
Review 51:Housekeeping did not seem to clean the toilet in my bathroom, also one of the staffers at breakfast always had her baby with her.
Review 52:Nice, quiet place in a good location. Staff was very helpful all around.
Review 53:Our air conditioner did not work. At all.
Review 54:The location was perfect, the hotel is within walking distance of downtown. Every person on staff was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is really charming, full of character, and was very comfortable.
Review 55:There wa nothing I didn't like.
Review 56:The property is very cute and the room was nicely decorated. The room was clean and comfy. A great value being so close to old town and the railyard district. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Review 57:Room was a bit outdated in decor.
Review 58:Location was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked the continental breakfast of homemade scones and muffins!
Review 59:Noisy guests above our room
Review 60:Short walk to central Santa Fe, quiet old-world location, comfortable room decorated in Santa Fe style, nice breakfast, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, off-street parking,
Review 61:We were a little concerned about security, though there was no actual problem. Room door is an outside door, and the single lock locked with a physical key that could easily be duplicated.
Review 62:Extremely pleasant & accommodating staff. Charming property with each room unique. Great location bordering Historic District and Railyard District.
Review 63:Disappointed with the guy that checked us in, not too friendly. Other staff were very nice though.
Review 64:Good location, close to the tailgate district and only a 10 minute walk to the Plaza.
Review 65:Check in time restrictions not on the booking.com reservation confirmation. Caused confusion with the management and us. Direct booking would have shown the times. Windows not lockable or secure.
Review 66:Walking location to plaza area, value price compared to other options
Review 67:Excellent staff/owners. Adorable room with a fireplace, huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub, and balcony patio. Very clean. Room was 10 minute walk to the Plaza. Nice and quiet in the evening. Got a great special price!
Review 68:We had a great two night stay! It was very convenient to be able to walk to the Plaza or Railyard District. Our room was comfortable and included a kitchenette and small patio, but I don't think all the rooms have those features.
Review 69:Inn was a bit difficult to find. We had a wild shower head, loud air conditioner and the tub did not drain well when using shower.
Review 70:Relatively close to the plaza.
Review 71:I wish breakfast had started at 7:00 instead of 8:00. It was harda to wait for coffee that late and there is not place near to buy.
Review 72:Convenient location and parking. Friendly staff
Review 73:There are stairs to some rooms, so someone with walking problems may wish to ask for a ground floor room. A little hard to find. Would benefit from better signage at street. But it is hard to fault a place that is such a great value.
Review 74:Great Location, Great Value. Room large with nice colors, bathroom outstanding. Bed comfortable. Nice chair to sit in. Everything clean and new. Quiet. Staff all friendly and helpful. Good free off street parking.
Review 75:My only wish was to have a shower. The honeymoon suite bath tub. I understand the romance of a tub but it was a little awkward to navigate and I am a very able bodied man.
Review 76:The property is very Santa Fe charming. It reminded me of several places I've stayed visiting other countries. The walk to restaurants and the club I attended was gorgeous. The location is perfect for walking to most things one needs in Santa Fe.
Review 77:the bed sofa
Review 78:the size and the style of the rooms. good breakfast huge bathroom with shower and bath in walking distance to the historical center (15min) charming hotel
Review 79:Room was not exactly noise-proof! Could hear neighbors like they were in my own room. Didn't sleep great as a result.
Review 80:Staff and guests very friendly. Locations amazing. Breakfasts perfect if not imaginative.
Review 81:I little hard to find. Just a very small sign of the roadway. But once there it opened to a wonderful compound of very few but all well appointed rooms.
Review 82:Within walking distance of everything I had time to see on a 2 day trip. Parked and never moved the car until checkout time.
Review 83:Room nice but needs to be updated a bit. Small things...like kleenex box empty. But I would definitely stay there again.
Review 84:Convenience and price. Liked sitting at the community table for their breakfast (small offerings but nice to have) and visit with all the tourists.
Review 85:Air Conditioner not fully functioning, did not cool our very hot room to any significant degree through the night. Abbie lent us her personal circulating fan, which helped, but sleep was still difficult with the heat. I understand that such extreme heat is not normal, but that it does happen in late June. We had a 10 hour drive Monday and were not happy that we had been unable to get a good night's sleep..
Review 86:Great location, good price, Abbie, who was on duty on our arrival and through breakfast, was very helpful and accommodating.
Review 87:Guadalupe Inn is on a quiet street a 10-minute walk from Santa Fe Plaza. Friendly, clean, gracious and helpful hosts. Great value for the modest price.
Review 88:This is a small family-run place with modest, comfortable rooms, a lovely breakfast room and a nice continental breakfast. We like being away from the busy atmosphere of the plaza, but still within walking distance of both the plaza and the railroad shopping district.
Review 89:Finding the right driveway but its worth persevering.
Review 90:Southwest ambiance; hidden away; walk to main plaza in Santa Fe!;flowers, lots of cafes and restaurants. Breakfast suited us.
Review 91:The lobby was closed from 5PM - 8AM. The breakfast was minimal. The room lacked amenities, beyond a single chair. The carpet was dirty (unvacuumed as opposed to sticky).
Review 92:Location was convenient to the plaza and environs.
Review 93:There was a continental type breakfast which wasn't great but it was ok.
Review 94:Neat and unique property. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. We walked into town-about 10 minutes. Lots of great restaurants and things to see close by.
Review 95:Nitpick: Bed was slightly small and the floor was slippery
Review 96:Great place overall. Good rooms, clean. Wifi was okay. Breakfast was great with home made muffins, hard boiled eggs etc. Staff were all very friendly. Free parking. Walking distance to downtown. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 97:I liked the convenience to good restaurants and shops. It is a clean, quite place and the inn employees were always available but never vexing. We loved our room. I hope to come back again.
Review 98:The two recliners in the Living area were pretty beat up and worn out, need to toss them and put in a couple of straight back chairs and a table or desk to work computers
Review 99:Large open ceilings with heavy timbers and spacious rooms
Review 100:We were so excited when we booked 4 nights of our NM vacation here because the location and rates were so great--and we were very happy with our choice! The staff was so friendly and helpful, our room was charming and comfortable, the location was perfect, we could easily walk to everything, and the breakfast was such a nice amenity. It helped our busy days of sight seeing and hiking get off to a really nice start :) And the nights when it was a little drizzly and colder, we could still walk just a couple of minutes to enjoy some night life, and then come back and turn the fireplace on! Cleanliness is also super important to me, and I never had a concern here.
Review 101:Service the first day only made bed, did not empty waste baskets or clean up. No service after that for two additional days. Breakfast was the same old hard-boiled egg, dry cereal, day(s) old bread.
Review 102:Interesting decor
Review 103:nothing
Review 104:This hotel is charming, quiet, very clean, just a few minutes walk to everything, the breakfast is good and the breakfast room is very comfortable with a nice fire place and a piano.the bedroom was large.
Review 105:The cleaner did not celan/tidy, just emptied the bin. The wifi in my room broke down the second day.
Review 106:The room was simple, but very clean. Breakfast was nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is located in a quite, residential area, walking distance from the area, lovely place!
Review 107:The sofa pullout bed was uncomfortable and needs a new blanket. Way too many lights outside our unit, making it so light inside it was hard to sleep. I actually unscrewed a few bulbs. The exposed bathroom gave little privacy. It could (and should) be walled in.
Review 108:Friendly, accommodating staff. A bountiful continental breakfast. A cute and clean suite. The price was VERY reasonable for downtown Santa Fe.
Review 109:The walls are thin and we could hear the neighbors until 2 a.m. The continental breakfast was underwhelming, but there are plenty of places close by to grab a delicious breakfast.
Review 110:It was a great location and an affordable opinion when visiting Santa Fe.
Review 111:Carpets and window shades need updating. If replaced would make a huge difference as the overall rooms are nice. Should have a refrig in all rooms. Breakfast should start at 7am vs 8am...especially for business travellers.
Review 112:Location, staff, room layout. Overall value.
Review 113:No microwave no fridge no ice machine extremely loud air. heat Super creaky bed
Review 114:Really nice room. We even had a fireplace! Price Really hate to say anything bad because the room was super clean and nicely set up. We even had an outdoor patio. We went to the restaurant RAAGA down the road (1 min walk) and it was lovely
Review 115:Hotel hard to find after sunset (no illuminated signage at entrance!), room could be cleaner in "hidden" areas, e.g. under armchair, in drawers
Review 116:Location very close to downtown, spacious rooms, seperate bedroom, very nice bathroom, roofed balcony
Review 117:Cute and reasonable (in Feb) , and a great location. Our room was spotless. Very nice continental breakfast, too! No phone in the room, but not a problem for most people.
Review 118:nothing but just to let you know...15 min by walking to reach the very center of Santa Fe
Review 119:very large rooms and bathroom (shower and bath), nice atmosphere, clean, very nice breakfast and friendly staff
Review 120:WiFi worked inconsistently and needed re-setting by the front desk daily.
Review 121:Close proximity to town center & main tourist/shopping plaza. Clean and comfortable rooms. Rooms with homey, charming personality. Heated bathroom floor tiles. Not sure if the tiles are heated by design or if it's a byproduct of the building's heating system. They were much appreciated during our winter visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast spreads with nice variety of food options-- bagels, home-baked muffins, English muffins, toast, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, etc. Coffee and hot chocolate, too. Of course! Several covered parking spots available for guests, in addition to non-covered ones. Given the snow in the forecast, covered parking made things easier!
Review 122:Bathroom was old, shower head mounter too low on the wall. I had to stoop down and I am 5'8". Bathtub surface peeling off. Insufficient lighting, only one table lamp and one dim ceiling light. Broken ice machine. In essence a real dive of a motel. But the only option for inexpensive lodging in the town.
Review 123:Location. Adequate hot water. Operable window with eastern facing view of the sunrise. Reasonable price.
Review 124:Would've been better if the beds were a little softer and we had a refrigerator and microwave in the room
Review 125:Friendly staff nice comfortable roof great location
Review 126:Great location and lovely room #4. Best of all was the customer service! When we had a problem with the room we were in without hesitation the manager made everything right!
Review 127:The driveway entrance needs some lighted sign. Hard to find the place at night even with gps. If electric power is not available at the entrance, I suggest solar-powered sign.
Review 128:Cleanliness, homey atmosphere, reasonable rates, delicious breakfast muffins, good coffee
Review 129:We liked the quaintness, comfort & atmosphere of our room. Daniel was very helpful by waiting for us (late check-in) and then directing us to an amazing restaurant. The breakfast with it's homemade chili corn muffins topped off our stay. We were very pleasantly satisfied with the Guadalupe Inn!
Review 130:1. Bed stiff and bouncy 2. Floor Heating slow to warm-up room and slow to cool off 3. Air Conditioner noisy 4. No phone to be able to make local calls or call front the desk 5. Have to go to the front desk for ice
Review 131:1. Close to City Center 2. Quiet 3. Covered Parking 4. Clean 5. Good Value 6. Pre-Approved Pet after calling hotel 7. Employees very friendly
