Reviews for Inn on the Alameda

Review 1:Loved everything!

Review 2:Cozy room, great bathroom with full length mirror, makeup mirror and robe. Cozy lounge with fireplace and wine/cheese hour. The restaurant is very good and free breakfast had many selections. Walking distance to everything. Will stay here again!

Review 3:My room window was towards the parking lot. The blinds and thin shades did not fully cover the window .....lack of privacy

Review 4:The bed and linens were very comfortable.

Review 5:I keep the door 'key' in my wallet to prevent loss, but then I have to fumble around with two hands to get it out. Please put small tables near the outside doors so people can place the coffee etc while getting out keys. And, room 252 has these problems: 1. Bath window wouldn't open, 2. TV service way out of date, 3.Armoire doors rattle, 4. Bathrobes WAY too large for a smallish woman.

Review 6:Location, general condition of the room, b'fast.

Review 7:The small room on the third floor and no elevator. I thought it was not good value for the expense. We were there for 9 nights and unable to change. Understand this and now that we know the room situation better will get one more to our liking next time.

Review 8:Everything except for the small room on the third floor and no elevator. Impressed with the professional staff from front desk to dining room to kitchen to maintenance. Great location. We will be back.

Review 9:This female front desk clerk is both rude and unfriendly.I wish I had gotten her name ,but promise i would not deal with her again.

Review 10:Location is good, facilities are very good including fitness center and washer and dryer. Jose and others on staff were excellent and represented your company well;however one of your staff needs training.

Review 11:Lost our power; however, it was taken care of very promptly.

Review 12:Appreciated the shuttle. Courteous staff. Complimentary breakfast and Happy Hour. Dinner. Always love our stay.

Review 13:Not bad but outside patio could be cleaned and maintained better. Other years that we stayed it was a lot cleaner outside in the courtyard!!

Review 14:Rooms were very comfortable and very clean!

Review 15:Room tiny. Near the road. Light and noise all night long. Booked two nights back to back separately and this caused no end of trouble with their computer. Lock on room door sometimes took 20 times to operate.

Review 16:Staff was very kind and went out of their way to be helpful at every turn.

Review 17:The staff was so helpful. The breakfast was delicious & there were so many choices. Loved the wine reception at 4 & again the selections were numerous & tasty.

Review 18:My one tiny complaint would be the difficulty of getting the luggage upstairs. An elevator would be a stellar addition.

Review 19:I liked the location, the helpful staff, the tasty breakfast, and the reasonable price. I would recommend this Inn to all who ask.

Review 20:Not only was the inn beautiful and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, but the location was ideal. Everything was within walking distance to the inn. The Plaza is less than 10 minutes in foot. Canyon Road is less than 5 minutes away. There Santa Fe River flows just across the street and it was lovely to stroll in the river bank every morning. Complimentary parking and breakfast a real plus!

Review 21:Nothing. I liked it all. Very very nice place!

Review 22:I like everything about the Inn. It is quaint, clean and very charming. The staff was excellent and the breakfast was fabulous. I really enjoyed wine and cheese hour. What a great experience!

Review 23:We loved everything about our stay; our suite was lovely, clean and comfortable. The location was wonderful and the staff were all friendly and very helpful when we had questions. We rate our stay as a 10+!

Review 24:There were very few things not to like about this place, but it would've been great to have a small fridge in the room. Otherwise, no complaints.

Review 25:The staff was amazing, as customer service is clearly a priority. Breakfast was great; wine and cheese was a nice bonus! Would definitely stay here again!

Review 26:I liked everything.

Review 27:We loved the staff, they were very helpful and charming. We also loved Frank who hauled us around town for free and we loved the wine and cheese and the great breakfasts. Thank you Inn on the Alameda! You helped make for a great New Mexican vacation. Everything was outstanding. The physical setting was very lovely and I especially appreciated the Baumann art prints of New Mexico on the walls. The lobby was also very well decorated. The room was good too.

Review 28:Everything was great.

Review 29:The room (including bath) was charming and well-appointed. Parking and wifi are free. The restaurant was exceptional, including the free breakfast. Staff were more than accommodating. Lovely experience!

Review 30:The only small annoyance was that the light bulb in the foyer of our room was burned out when we arrived. We mentioned it just after check-in but the bulb was not replaced during our two-day stay. Maybe the word was not passed on to the maintenance staff!

Review 31:Very welcoming and enthusiastic staff, excellent breakfast, nice wine and cheese get-together every afternoon, pleasant atmosphere, comfortable room, location is central but not noisy.

Review 32:We waited an hour after ordering the starters and a small dinner . Food and beverage service not at par with the level expected . Lack of seating area during breakfast buffet for guests.

Review 33:Location of hotel

Review 34:the breakfast was always the same-our casita was freezing-we had the heat set at 84 and it was only warm next to the door-the fireplace smoked-the bathroom never got warm-we suggest a heat lamp in the ceiling-not enough blankets

Review 35:the staff was wonderful the location is excellent the lobby area is cozy and warm

Review 36:Hot tub was frozen over, surroundings were not inviting even if it had been on. But very inconsequential disappointment.

Review 37:Everything was done to make our anniversary celebration a special one. Fresh flowers with a personal message I had requested in the room upon our arrival and a chilled bottle of champagne gratis which I didn't expect. Staff was warm and friendly. Free happy hour and good food at the charming hotel restaurant.

Review 38:The Entire experience. the NM decorating, food and wonderful staff. I also loved the dusting of snow. It was truly a welcome home experience for me. Thank you, Sue Treinen

Review 39:Wi fi a bit slow at times but really no complaints. This place is outstanding!

Review 40:Beautiful inn with many great amenities such as; complimentary breakfast (with gluten/dairy free options), wine/cheese hour, shuttle service, and a beautiful place to stay with great access to downtown and Canyon Road art galleries. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 41:housekeeping did not provide three robes, cups for coffee, and extra coffee even though we booked for three people.

Review 42:The location, staff, amenities were all outstanding. Went above expectation to make our stay a lot of fun. I would definitely return for another stay.

Review 43:No safe or fridge in room. Tiny closet. Shelving blocked use of sink. No deadbolt or security latch on entry door.

Review 44:Great breakfast and wine/cheese event. Very polite and friendly staff. Nice offering but paid the same for stays at La Fonda and Inn at Vanessie. The rooms were suites with much nicer amenities.

Review 45:Bed was a bit stiff

Review 46:location was great for walking or driving anywhere with free parking, The included breakfast was wonderful down to the beautiful tableware. Great happy hour. Loved the skylight in our 2nd floor bathroom.

Review 47:We have stayed in Santa Fe on at least 10 occasions and have stayed at what we consider very nice places. This was THE BEST. From the roomy and comfortable room to the outstanding courtesy and care received from the personnel to the great free breakfast to the outstanding location. Highly recommended. We will return.

Review 48:We had to walk up to our room on the third floor, which was not easy with the altitude change. There were no chairs in the room that were comfortable to sit in for an hour or more. The one chair was very uncomfortable. The temperature in the eating facilities was too warm.

Review 49:The breakfast and wine social was great. It was not a long walk to downtown.

Review 50:The room was average, almost barren. It was not a place I wanted to return to in the middle of the day for a rest as it was somewhat depressing and dark.

Review 51:The location.

Review 52:Breakfasts - Although the cooks were very nice, the choices were often heavy quiches, frittatas - some highly spiced. Would have liked to see oatmeal (not the quick packets). It seemed mediocre for the money. Housekeeping missed one day, and we had to request fresh towels.

Review 53:Location is great - easy walk to Plaza area & Canyon Road

Review 54:The $300.00 a night room was small, dark and had a less than adequate bathroom. The faucets in the tub were not working properly. The wifi did not work well if at all.

Review 55:Staff were always friendly and knowledgable. The gardens were lovely and well tended. The food was excellent and complementary drinks a nice touch.

Review 56:Leaving to return home.

Review 57:The excellent staff and their service, great lounge menu and breakfast, well maintained room, public facilities and grounds and on-site free parking

Review 58:The wi fi was rarely working in our room.

Review 59:We had King suite with patio and it was wonderful. Very quiet, excellent condition. The included breakfast buffet is excellent, and the free wine and cheese in the late afternoon.

Review 60:Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sent us information about Santa Fe before we arrived, so we could plan our days. Shuttle service if you should need it, with helpful information from the driver.

Review 61:The Inn is beautiful and suited our needs perfectly. We walked everywhere with ease. This was our first trip to Sante Fe and the Inn made our trip extra special. The room, grounds, breakfast, and service was top notch.

Review 62:The hotel was absolutely beautiful! It was in the perfect location and very clean The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was delicious as well as the wine/cheese hour. We will stay here on our next visit to Santa Fe!

Review 63:Beautiful surroundings, very good breakfasts, lovely outdoor dining, convenient shuttle with courteous, helpful driver--all in all an excellent experience.

Review 64:I expected it to be a little more luxurious based on the reviews and pictures

Review 65:It was a great location and the breakfast buffet offered was nice. The rooms were not bad. The sheets were nice quality. You can tell the property has been there for some time from the beautiful wood ceilings, etc.

Review 66:It wasn't as close to the square that I had hoped. I was promised a balcony but did not get one. The front desk staff did not offer a resolution. The bathroom is very small with very little space to put cosmetics.

Review 67:Included breakfast was somewhat strange, and frankly not very good. Rubbery scrambled eggs, dry breakfast meats, carelessly cut fruit, dry sweet rolls weak coffee.

Review 68:Excellent room, staff, and general location.

Review 69:room was not ready after a long trip and this meant an upgrade did not transport in a rainstorm in town as they said they would keys kept expiring to the room

Review 70:nice breakfast nice happy hour met some nice people great location quiet and comfortable

Review 71:We loved the setting - close to the center, the outdoor patio for breakfast, the helpfulness of the staff - they provided maps and advice. Our flight was delayed and we had to postpone our stay by one night. They did not charge us for this lost booking. Definitely a place to go again.

Review 72:We spent three days at the Inn on the Alamenda. We felt like we were staying in a lovely neighborhood. The location was near every thing we wanted to see in Santa Fe. Staff very friendly and helpful. We would go back again and will recommend to others.

Review 73:The room smelled a bit musty and they need some lighting overhead. The room was very dark even with the lights that were available.

Review 74:Definitely the location, staff and they had a lovely breakfast buffet. The room was nice but needs some updating. There is a nice patio for reading outside our room and the patio outside the bar/breakfast room was lovely for eating or having a drink and resting.

Review 75:Room a little dark but super quiet

Review 76:Great location front desk super the housekeeping kept the room very clean and fresh breakfast staff were very friendly

Review 77:The lobby ladies' room was always like a sauna due to overset heat thermostat; also needs hook/s for purses, etc! Our outside deck exhibited worrisome areas of dryrot in several places & the Keurig coffee maker would/did not work :-(

Review 78:The grounds were lovely & very well kept-up, the breakfast was truly delish w/super variety, beautifully presented & the optional indoor/outdoor seating for eating was a nice treat. Bed was SUPER comfy (not too mushy) & the gratis bottled water and complimentary transport service was wonderful; driver (Dustin) was really great! Also appreciated the flexibility & friendliness exhibited by lobby staff Overall, definitely a quality & user-friendly establishment that's well-worth the cost :-)

Review 79:Table arrangement could be improved.

Review 80:Employees were helpful and took an interest in our plans. The generous transportation feature was awesome. Great included-breakfast and happy hour were wonderful features. Front desk employees and Charlie were Charming! I'm gushing.

Review 81:The first couple of mornings I thought the breakfast was good but after that I tired of the same offerings. They need to change it up a bit. I know my husband and I couldn't stand to look at eggs anymore! The bathrooms need to be updated as well as the lighting in the bedrooms. It's too dark and the lamps aren't enough.

Review 82:I found the location very convenient for the Plaza, Canyon Road, Palace of the Governors and many restaurants. Staff was very helpful and they have a free shuttle that was great taking and picking us up from the International Folk Art Market.

Review 83:I think there should always be two regular coffees to accommodate 2 people in the room. If you must leave decafe, one is sufficient. The bathroom in the hotel lobby was in need of attention. Fragrance of toiletries Temperature of breakfast foods. The shades fell off the rod, when I opened them.

Review 84:Hotel staff was exceptional. Breakfast choices were plentiful, however the food was cold. Nice to have gluten free options. However, people with Celiac Disease cannot have gluten free food which is served with shared utensils (frittata) because cross-contamination is a problem. Room was clean, loved the sheets, TV and wifi worked well. Easy check in and out. Accommodated early arrival by holding luggage. Guest computer and printer were easy to use. Wine and cheese reception was a nice touch-good variety of appetizers. Server was very pleasant. Toiletries were so-so. I suggest a better product like. The fragrances are disagreeable. I loved the hotel and will return if possible.

Review 85:Chairs in room weren't very comfortable.

Review 86:Room was large and well-equipped. Lovely patio attached to our first floor room. Included breakfast was great.

Review 87:No amenities in room. A small refrigerator, microwave would be nice. Room was on the small side. Only one chair available for two of us. TV was too small for the room.

Review 88:Decor and cleanliness of the room. Breakfast included was great. Grounds were very well kept. Spa/jacuzzi was very lovely except we had to clean out all the leaves that fell from the tree.

Review 89:I did not like the noise in my room, something very loud running all night, perhaps a bathroom fan in the room below which keeps me awake

Review 90:I like the staff? Happy hour, breakfast, the friendly safe atmosphere

Review 91:Willingness to help with inthusiasum. The breakfast were hot and diverse.

Review 92:Very charming

Review 93:Great staff, and very nice room, clean and neat. Enjoyed the restaurant, great dinner.

Review 94:Nothing

Review 95:Loved the wine and cheese hour and also Chef Jen's food. Ate there every night. Front desk staff great. Breakfast very good.

Review 96:Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast daily was well above average. We had dinner on Saturday night. Excellent and low key. Perfect.

Review 99:Design. Great breakfast. Nice touches (free wine & cheese at 5pm). Shuttle bus to locations with 3 miles a big bonus

Review 100:This is one of the best stays I have ever had anywhere. The free transportation and great breakfast was over the top.

Review 101:Lovely room, and helpful staff at front desk .the Inn is very expensive for a hotel experience

Review 108:The staff was very friendly esp Charlie in the bar for wine and cheese hour

Review 109:The reception at night was a very nice touch. There was lots of wine choices, olives, cheeses.

Review 110:slowness of internety

Review 111:Free parking & convenience of shuttle

Review 112:Room on ground floor with a fenced-in "patio" with only view of the parked cars directly in front of the room.

Review 113:Location.

Review 114:Great outdoors space for breakfast and happy hour.

Review 115:The whole experience was very enjoyable. Easy access to centre of Santa Fe

Review 116:None at all

Review 117:This is almost as friendly as a good B&B

Review 118:We would have enjoyed a pool or sun deck.

Review 119:Same breakfast everyday.

Review 120:Location great

Review 121:Small room on the ground floor. Has low ceilings. Felt a little claustrophobic.

Review 122:The breakfast and staff was superb!
