Reviews for Hotell Valsaren
Review 1:Wonderful breakfast buffet and great free sandwich for dinner, cosy underfloor heating in the bathroom, great facilities to warm up or chill own food in the room, great customer service by sending text message with details before arrival, very clean, very quiet location with good communications, excellent value for money
Review 2:only small window to the hall thus might be quiet dakr during day-time
Review 3:Perfect check-in due to information on my mobile phone. Very quiet, parking close by
Review 4:Beautiful hotel, good position (near the bus stop for the center), good breakfast and included dinner (sandwich+coffee+fruits), comfortable structure, helpful and friendly staff!
Review 5:It would be a good idea for the hotel management to clarify upfront that the hotel is unstaffed. We arrived around 3 o'clock in the afternoon (in the rain) and could not gain entry to the hotel as it was locked and unstaffed. For international visitors, with high internet roaming charges, it is not good enough to email hotel information late morning the day of arrival. The mattress in our room was very, very soft!
Review 6:The room was clean and very modern. Although the room was very small, it was well equipped, and the hotel has lots of open, common areas to sit. The addition of hot beverages and snacks being available all night, is a really nice and useful touch. Breakfast was simple but good, and the kitchen staff were prompt with bringing extras when things ran out. We would highly recommend the hotel (just make sure you get hotel entry code before arriving)
Review 7:The staff was really awful when I arrived at 3pm they looked exhaustedprobably after a busy work at lunch time and it was as if I wasdisturbing. Because I wanted to pay my room my cash she told me in avery impolite manner they don't take cash and I should find anotherhotel taking cash. Since it was not stated on the website that the hoteldoesn't accept cash. I called booking.com and after long minutescustomer support I could finally check in around 5pm, paying cash!!!!The room they gave me had no window to the outside and was just next tothe restaurant and I could hear people eating . The hall and entrancedidn't look clean. But the room was clean. I could stay there 2nights. So next day 8:30am I informed the staff I won't stay and Iwill check out and since I paid for 2days I would like a refund for theday I'm not staying. They refused to refund any money. Personally Icouldn't sleep another night so I left them with my money and checkout then booked a better hotel from a hotel chain which was day andnight in service, cleanliness and the rest compared to Valsaren. Sometime it's better to pay a bit more for higher standards!!!!
Review 8:They put a lot of emphasis on food. And breakfast is full of everything.Sandwiches are free but really basic!
Review 9:Raise the quality of the breakfast (especially the bread was rather poor!) and you've got the best hotel at an affordable price!
Review 10:Large rooms, free parking, good wifi, close to the city
Review 11:As a non-viking citizen, not a great fan of seedish quilts.....! A petty tohave a double bed with 2 individual quilts!
Review 12:Cleaness. Everything in the room. Easy access.
Review 13:Unlike any hotel I have stayed in. The building is an old factory excellently converted to a hotel. Not all rooms have outside windows, they look out to the inside. This is the best value hotel I have stayed in in Sweden, The staff are excellent and very friendly. Its a bit of a walk to town, and 10 minutes walk from station but free sandwiches and drinks are left for dinner and you get a cooked breakfast as well as the smorgasbord. Will definitely stay again when in Vasteras
Review 14:Quality of coffee could be better. : )
Review 15:Very nice architecture inside the hotel and the room I stayed in was very nice too. : ) Seems to be a family hotel and the staff has been very friendly and kind.
Review 16:No complaints at all!
Review 17:The large desk near the window (room 8). The size of the room. The friendly staff. The availability of cookies, fruit, tea and coffee. The sandwiches for guests. The quiet location (you can sleep with the window open).
Review 18:They could have clean a bit better. And change sheets more often.
Review 19:we were feeling like staying in a family hotel. It was very pleasant and satisfactory.
Review 20:Inside room with no window. Confusing layout with eating areas all over the building - the rooms seemed less important than the cafe.
Review 21:Close to city centre. Good breakfast available.
Review 22:The city center is not far, but the hotel is in an industrial area, which is really the opposite of beautiful.
Review 23:Good breakfast, free snacks during the day, cosy and well-equipped room with microwave, cattle, fridge, big desk with good chair. Very nice for business travellers, particularly to the nearby factories.
Review 24:- Loved the heated bathroom floors. - Good wifi connection; was able to make skype calls without the calls dropping. - The a/c was brilliant -- kept the room at just the right temperature; never had to wear any warm clothing while i was inside my room during september. - The breakfast was filling and delicious and would get me through the better part of the day -- very useful if you are attending a conference and have no time to get to a proper meal before late afternoon. - The rooms looked morden and were kept neat and clean. - And most importantly, the owners/hosts of the hotel are super nice folks and anytime I am visiting Vasteras again, I am staying at Hotell Valsaren.
Review 25:The room had no window. I think it is unfair marketing not to mention that the room has no window at the time of booking. No staff present in afternoon and evening. Industrial area with no restaurants nearby. Quite far to walk to downtown Västerås for dinner if it is raining.
Review 26:Nice accommodating staff (both the girl that called me 2 days before arrival, and the staff at breakfast). Clean and functional room. Good breakfast. Good WiFi. Quiet. Nice walk to downtown Västerås, when the weather is good. Lots of parking spaces available just outside the hotel door.
Review 27:It would have been good to have a proper window (although the air con was excellent). The location was a bit off-putting at first, being on an industrial estate, although it was only a 7 minute walk to the station, once we figureed it out!
Review 28:The room was really clean and included a kettle, fridge and microwave. The staff were really friendly but not annoyingly so. Breakfast was relaxed and tasty, and there were drinks and biscuits available all the time.
Review 29:Surprisingly interesting and cozy hotel is located in a converted industrial building. The cheapest rooms do not have windows out, but they are comfortably furnished. The room was perfectly tidy. The staff was kind, thoughtful, considerate and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. Coffee, apple juice and fruit available throughout the day. There were sandwiches for hotel guests in the fridge in the evenings.
Review 30:free food and drinks 24h. 10min. fra sentrum. beautiful and big roms.
Review 31:nothing
Review 32:all good
Review 33:Room without window!
Review 34:All
Review 35:Far from center

Review 44:I liked the kettle and cup in my room so that I could make tea. The staff was very nice nice, too.
Review 45:Quite bad wifi connection, interrupted often.
Review 46:Great location! Very comfortable room and friendly staff.
Review 47:The director of the Hotel wasn't friendly at all and unpolit.
Review 48:The staff was wery nice and kind to me. The atention to detales in the hotel, just wow, you just feel like at home...
Review 49:The philosophy of the family run hotel and the fact that one had contact with the host, as if you were going to their home.
Review 50:Room very comfort and clean . Very friendly staff , Excellent breakfast . Sandwiches and coffee free in the evening .A place to recommend
Review 51:Comfortable, nice staff, great value
Review 52:Breakfast was excellent, facilities were great. Very nice looking place with plenty of space.
Review 53:the Internet is a bit slow
Review 54:the service, the food, the enviroment, the devices......
Review 55:very comfortable people very friendly and welcoming Marco and Margherita
Review 56:peace of mind,Food and drink available at any time, dear staff
Review 57:Very good service!
Review 58:Wi- Fi did not work too well.
Review 59:Very friendly stuff. The girl took in consideration all our requests. Good breakfast and you can get free snack, that is little nice extra.
Review 60:Some rooms have very small windows, so check when booking.
Review 61:Staff, So friendly and helpful. Nice and centrally located. Good breakfast as well as snacks in the evening. Aircon and wi fi work well!
Review 62:Some of the rooms only have a window towards the corridor, not towards the outside, this should be stated in the description.
Review 63:Free sandwiches and fruit.
Review 64:Make sure you have a mobile phone to get the entry access code if you expect to arrive late afternoon or later.
Review 65:A quirky place, but delightful. Great decor. Tea/coffee and snacks provided. Free parking - it's on a big site with light industry, offices, gym and so on.
Review 66:Small but comfortable room and everything well organised by a mail that I received during the day with all details about the hotel. Even free sandwiches and coffee for guests during the evening. Very professional and pleasant staff (Petra) and great breakfast. Perfect hotel for business stay.
Review 67:It's in an industrial area, a bit further away from the centre.
Review 68:Room 6 with a real window, large desk, quite location (could sleep with window open), fridge+microwave.
Review 69:The day before arrival I received an sms from the hotel with practical information. I arrived late at night but as I had been given the door code and my room number beforehand I could just lock myself in. In the kitchen there was fruit, sandwiches, juice and tea/coffee for all hotel guests. The room was spacious and clean and the wireless worked perfectly. Breakfast in the weekend is normally served from 8 am but since I had to catch a train at 8.30 the staff came in early so I could have something to eat before I left the hotel. The hotel is located in an industrial park but is only 10 minutes walk from the train station and the city centre. I would say that it is extremely good value for money to stay in the hotel. I will definitely stay there again next time I am going to Västerås!
Review 70:Very helpful staff, nice breakfast and free dinner was a very welcomed touch. Coffee etc available in the rooms along with microwave and fridge was brilliant. The two chocolates also a good touch.
Review 71:Dining layout is not ideal although upstairs there is more room but it feels removed from the actual breakfast buffet if you sit here.
Review 72:Staff were very friendly and thecity centre location is great for ABB, Bombardier, etc. I also appreciated the evening sandwiches and snacks. Often when working late you don't get the time for a proper meal and these were perfect.
Review 73:- (Being very picky) only half a shower door in the bathroom. - No option for double bed.
Review 74:- Staff/Management were very friendly and helpful. - Snacks provided (free) in the evening. - Good breakfast included. - Very clean rooms.
Review 75:That we feel "home" there. The staff is just really great, give true smiles and are sincerely helpful, just like if we were from their family.
Review 76:One limitation is the lack of an elevator, which may mean lugging heavy suitcases up the winding stairs. The decor in the corridors is a little kitschy. Breakfast facilities are adequate, but awkward.
Review 77:The Hotell Valsaren is a good hotel and certainly a better choice than yet another budget chain hotel. But it's a quirky kind of place. Location is excellent, central in Västerås, yet close to the highway. The hotel is in a converted building in an industrial area. Our second floor room was sizeable, quiet, nicely-renovated and clean. The staff was very friendly and responsive.
Review 78:- Noisy refrigerator in the room - if you Take a shower the whole bathroom is flooded
Review 79:- Free parking right in Front of the door - quiet - Free Sandwiches, Fruit and Milk for Hotel guests during the day
Review 80:Very friendly staff, nice modern rooms, easy to go by car, free parking, quiet area, walking distance from town center, very good price, excellent breakfast
Review 81:No personnel on a Sunday night. No restaurant in the hotel or nearby.Bathroom was very large but when having a shower the hole room wasflooding. Room nr. 10
Review 82:The room size, a desk for two. Very good beds a family run enterprise. The owner promised to fix the bathroom problem.
Review 83:The room was spacious, there's free parking, and the internet worked. I was actually able to unload/load my car through the hotel room window.
Review 84:This is a really nice little hotel, in fact I would call it a high quality bed and breakfast. They serve an excellent open buffet breakfast in the mornings with a good mix of hot (eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes) and cold food (variety of cheese, salami, vegetables, fruits, jam, butter, cereal etc). They leave really good sandwiches (high quality bread, cheese, salami, brie etc) at nights for the guests in addition to fruits, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. - which can easily be a dinner replacement if you are on a budget. The rooms are small but very functional. Each room has a fridge, microwave, and water kettle. The building was converted from an 18th century industrial facility so there is some history as well. It is 15 min walk to the centre, but I should also add that Vasteras is very small to start with so this is one of the further hotels to the centre. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I very highly recommend Hotell Valsaren.
Review 85:Nice location not far from Oslo-Stockholm highway. Staff is veryfriendly and open. Even in evening there is food for free (sandviches, tea, coffee, cookies, fruits). Rooms are rather big and comfortable (andclean). The place itself is a kind of industrial factory, which became acreative cluster.
Review 86:I didnt have long enough to explore the surroundings
Review 87:I travel a lot and this was a unique 'stay experience' that I would definitely recommend. The ambience, decor and service approach was great and a welcome change from the standardised hotels you find in most towns. Stay here if you can!
Review 88:Really facilitated our early start on a Sunday moning with a 6:30 breakfast before our triathlon race - kind and happy staff.
Review 89:Nice hotel to stay, clean rooms, wifi, delicious breakfast, very friendly staff.
Review 90:Good
Review 91:Surroundings
Review 92:Every detail have been given a thought and taken care of. Functionality is excellent.
Review 93:Perfect location, free parking, mordern rooms and good breakfast
Review 94:- no window - industrial area
Review 95:- clean - quiet - free sandwiches and fruits - cheap food
Review 96:Nothing
Review 97:- friendly personnel - breakfast, afternoon coffee and cookies - relaxed atmosphere
Review 98:I really liked the way booking and checking was handled. Very simple and problem free.
Review 99:Coffee, cookies and sandwiches for all guests, all day long :-)
Review 100:nothing really
Review 101:Price Location Free Wi-Fi
Review 102:The calm location, yet close to downtown. The friendly staff and fresh and clean interior
Review 103:Quiet rooms, parking, breakfast, free wifi
Review 104:Best possible value of money!
Review 105:The friendliness of the staff. The large room. The food. Use of an industrial building in a creative way.
