Review 1：Little disappointed with food quality and price. My room was not ready at check-in and smelled mold. Bring mosquito repellent. It would be great and convenient to have a Food & Beverage Shop like the one at the Holiday Inn-Patong (reasonable prices).

SPA and treatments were amazing.. This is a great place for family fun! Karon Beach and the restaurants are very near to the hotel.. I am happy I chose to stay at Centara instead of a place in Patong.

Review 4：Perfect stay. The location is wonderful ( sea in the front and the dark green forest on the hills in the back), the resort is beautiful an very well divided. Great facilities for family with children but if you want to stay in a more quiet place there is a pool only for adults with a great view. The sea was perfect and not crowded at all as the resort is located at the very beginning of Kata-Karon beach so it feels as if the beach was private.

Review 5：Entry to resort on steep incline, so not easy to walk in and out of resort. Only feasible via vehicle. Also no daily needs shop outside resort.

When we arrived late evening, we found the allocated two rooms are not sea view and one room with twin beds unlike our reservation and request. It took us one hour to find new rooms with king size bed and i had to change my room again the next day for better view That was completely annoying and we end up staying in different buildings and far from the sea and swimming pools

Review 17：the hotel could be really amazing with its beach front location but terrible management, front desk and uneducated staff in the restaurants who knows little about hospitality and working in a resort build as 5 star. this is serious issure to be considered since the hotel cost is high with little comfort. the room, the bathroom needs some serious repair. this hotel is way below my expectation and i dont recommend it to anyone. owners of the hotel need to educate their staff, teach them some basic English to communicate with guests. for example, i made private taxi transfer to pier but the lady insisted that i go into the car, i had a bad feeling since i stayed there everything was going wrong, so i asked her where is the paper on my name on it going to pier, she said go get into the car and she asked the bellman to place my bags into the trunk of the taxi. i was still not feeling good about it, so i asked the driver just before we leave where are we going? several times!!! and when he understood he said to the airport!!!! imagine that, how disorganize Centara Grand Resort staff are, i had a private boat waiting for me to take me to phi phi island where im supposed to cheack in into to the beautiful Phi Phi Village Resort (beautiful place, great hotel, great management, well organized, they know how to treat their guests, i highly recommend this hotel to anyone who want to visit Phi Phi, the money is worth it and its alot cheaper than the terrible Centara Grand Resort in Caron Beach, Phuket) luckily after we drove we came back and i was upset at what happen but no one cares and actually they were upset because i complaint, imagine that!!! no one listen or care, terrible hotel to be in. dont waste your money or time and make booking to a different hotel Not Named Centara.

Review 19：We have arrived at the hotel but room wasn’t sea view as booked at website, however the reservation manager Mr. Mathew had relocated us to sea view room after two days. we notice the following: - The hotel require renovation -Rooms furniture is too old -Limited tv channels with poor signals -Only two restaurants -Lack of knowledge at front desk and towel stand staff at central pool site.

Review 23：Liftt didn't work for a few days and we were in level 3. Cleaners are a bit quick & rough. Driving up that massive hill to get in/out was a challenge & somewhat dangerous despite having a gaurd there. That is a big saftey issue right there.

Review 25：Just had some issues with payment and check-in. We didn't have the card that made the payment online, even though we had already paid, they demanded to see the card. We had to organise a refund then pay on another card. The refund wasn't processed until after we got home and actually had to follow up with booking.com!!

Review 30：Rooms very run down, need maintenance. We booked two rooms for 2 adults and 2 children and were not allocated connecting rooms despite the hotel being at 60% capacity. Check in staff made no effort to give us connecting rooms despite asking several times. Equally the second room wasn't ready until 3pm and we had to share a room for an hour. I asked for a late check out for that room and was denied. Wont be returning and will not recommend to friends or family.

Review 57：Staff needs to improve their english. Need to rein in the wild chinesetourists - we saw kids urinating in the pool, ripping up flowers andplants and putting them in the pool. Need to check on rooms before theguests have to call and say that the room a/c is not working, thatthe paint is nasty and moldy looking (patchwork plastering). This is not5-star hotel stuff. And holes in the sheets. I should not have to callyour front desk. Staff should be PRO-Active not Reactive.

Review 59：The buffet breakfast was under my standard for a resort buffet. It had minimum selection, primarily geared from Europeans and Australians. There was only one noodle dish available and it wasn't even a Thai dish. Eggs were overcooked and lines were long.

Hotel has several pools, tennis court, spa, fitness center, two restaurants and two bars. This place made us feel the taste of vacation. Review 65：The service at the cove restraunt was sub par. We went for buffet dinners a number of nights but the staff forgot to pick dirty plates from our table. The staff had to be constantly reminded to pick them.

Losing power for a day in our room made for an uncomfortable time (due to maintenance of the local electricity grid, which was not the hotel's fault) - we were advised the night before that the power would go out 3. Not enough gluten free options, particularly for lunch and dinner 4. The restaurant meals were very expensive. It was cheaper to catch a taxi to Patong, have dinner there and then catch a taxi back to the resort

Review 68：1. The room and spa were very good (we had a premium deluxe room with balcony spa) 2. The main pool, adult pool and pool bars were also very good - what you would expect from a 4+ star resort 3. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service was excellent - we had a couple of issues with our phone (and TV reception after the power went out), and the hotel staff were very prompt in sending someone around to fix it 4. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of hot breakfast options (including made to order omelettes and eggs), juice, fruit, bread, pastries, etc. (some additional cereal and gluten free options would be good) 5. Free wifi - didn't have any issues 6. The security presence was excellent - they had a guard at the front gate to direct traffic, one near the main reception area, two on the beach at all times and a couple of other security staff throughout the resort - we felt very safe and secure

Review 69：That the shuttle bus only leaves at 2pm & 5pm, which means you have to catch a cab everyday for $400BHT This is obviously a money making scheme. Most hotels that are out of paying have more shuttle options.

They put an oil burner in our room with an extremely strong scented oil to disguise the smell, unfortunately it came back throughout our 8 night stay. Review 96：We think that we already paid for a premium rate of the room including breakfast when we booked. The information said that we do not need to pay extra if a kid can stay with us. Finally, we need to pay extra cost for the breakfast for a kid less than 10 year old. The policy of hotel now change compared to a few years ago. We never pay extra for our kids in the Centara group hotel before. Sometimes, the information on the web is not clear enough or we still think that the hotel keep the same policy as in the past, so before you book a hotel, you need to ask the hotel first, otherwise it can make annoying on you.

The evening arranged buffet celebrations are good but expensive but you are a short walk to other food places when you need. The lobby check in staff gave no information unless asked and then the answer varied each time you asked.

Review 105：The beach and location was amazing. The rooms are large and if you insist on an ocean view ( not all have them) then it is an amazing relaxing place if you are after a family clean and comfortable resort.

Review 106：The restaurants did not have halal option so that was a downside for us as we had to eat out at each mealtime. Furthermore, location can be 'far' as taxis and tuktuks are costly despite the short ride out. Notwithstanding that, we rented a bike throughout our stay (for less than 200baht a day) and it was worthwhile as it made both towns Karon and Patong easily accessible especially given that we always needed to go out for meals. But please do be careful on the road.

Review 107：Room was right by the pool and beach - perfect for my swim-enthusiast baby. The cliff jumping section is also open to adults, which is amazing!

Review 108：On our arrival they give us a special surprise for us . They give us a greeting card with sign of staffs of the hotel and other gifts. The room service is good and on time.

Review 109：1: housekeeping didn't close the room door properly after finished cleaning. The door was opened actually and everyone could sleek in. After complaint, no formal appolgy or follow up from the management. 2: the worst breakfast we ever had, food was cold, very little selection, repeated the same food during our 5 days stay. 3: staff were slow and not polite. Need training. 4: housekeeping was poor, smelly pillows and phone handset, we had to call for pillow change in the mid night when we're about to sleep. Of coz, it took a long time for them to come as well. 5: the hotel lobby is a joke. It claimed 5 star hotel but with 3 star hotel lobby standard. 6: the staff helped us to call taxi for going to patong beach or Karon beach for dinner as they have agreement. But they didn't help us to call taxi to airport. They claimed it's the safety concern, but it's very obvious that they were forcing us to take the hotel transport which costed unreasonably high. 7: we had visited phuket for many times, I think at least 10 times, but this hotel was the worst and it's our first time to make compliant. If u don't want to ruin your holiday, do not choose this hotel.

Review 119：Noise from the traffic (our unit was directly next to resort entry) whilst it had a great view of the beach and sand it was over shadowed by loud vehicles throughout both day and night. Lift taken out of service many times throughout our stay, no signage notifying out of service made or notification to our unit prior advising. No hot water for about 6hrs during the day on 5 of or 9 nights - again no notification Taxi - due to the isolated location most transport is via taxi, you MUST use resort taxi service which is double the price of general taxis, can not call outside transport to pick you up, you have to go out onto the main road which is a very narrow road on a Bend on a cliff. Much to dangerous and resort won't let outside taxi in to pick you up.

Review 120：Overall staff were pleasant and helpful, however select staff (mainly administration and guest services) need some further guidance and training.

Review 121：We had jewellery taken from our room by a staff member who removed it from a nice bucket, they took the jewellery and replaced it with ice. The reason I say this is this was the only time we had our ice bucket filled! Other than that all other staff where more than helpful. Transport costs are very expensive, so I don't think we will be in a rush to return :-(

This made me throwing up further than I could see - Do not order any food at the pool bar, and besides that, you will enjoy your stay

We asked to pay off all payments for extra beds the day before we left, but when we were about to check out, they still asked for an extra charge. The service of the reception is extremely slow and inefficient; the training of the staff definitely needed to be improved.
