Reviews for Wakulla Two Bedroom Suites Resort
Review 1:The shower was barely functional. Either scalding hot water or tepid to cold. Staff made no comment when we informed them of this.
Review 2:Lots of room, a kitchen and three beds in two bedrooms. Nice to have a full and twin for my older children, instead of banishing them to a sleeper sofa, or coughing up money for an additional room.
Review 3:There were some small insects in the kitchen (but they were very very small so not too inconvenient for us). The barbecue were very dirty.
Review 4:The flat was very spacious.
Review 5:I didn't like that it wasn't long enough it ended so fast can't wait to go back :)
Review 6:I loved our house keeping Becky she was absolutely amazing the sweetest nicest person I've met always had a smile on.... loved the neighbors around house everything was truly amazing...
Review 7:See other column!
Review 8:We stayed in a room where the air conditioning unit was so noisy we were afraid it would explode. We did not realize this until very late when we went to bed. We had to play with controls to turn it off and it was very hot. It was a one night stay for a marathon. Not a good night'so sleep! Whoops. Put this in the other column!
Review 9:We were woken at 2am by some people shouting and screaming obscenities outside our window. This was very disappointing since we had to get up at 4am for our race.
Review 10:The suite was great for us we came over for the half marathon in cocoa village.
Review 11:Two dead cockroaches in the room and the décor is beyond tired; 1980's horror. In need of a serious renovation.
Review 12:Still a great location and nice pool
Review 13:Lots of jellyfish on the beach, so we didn't go swimming in the ocean although the suite was next to the beach.
Review 14:Suite was really nice, nice pool and garden
Review 15:The laundry area was unkept. The dryers took two cycles to get clothing dried. Other than that...it was great.
Review 16:The location to the beach was perfect. And the pool for the kids to swim in during the evening hours.
Review 17:They double booked into of our rooms and strangers entered with their keys, then ours no longer worked. There was a huge dead but in the bathroom. The tv did not work.
Review 18:Close to beach and pool was nice.
Review 19:Screaming kids all day drunk adults at night. At check in front desk gave me keys to wrong room. Then had to drive back to check in counter in rain get new keys opposite side of property. Left parking pass at desk did they call me? No! I
Review 20:Not much!
Review 21:Not much space to sit outside in 1st room at front
Review 22:Friendly atmosphere. Stayed on 2 different nights in different rooms.preferred one by pool as could keep an eye on kids. Spacious and handy kitchen. Pool was good 4 us.right on beach.
Review 23:The carpet wasn't in best condition, but understandable since there is a lot of traffic from the beach and pool. The property is not updated, but that's what makes it a great deal, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, off-setting the lack of modernization.
Review 24:We loved the layout of the space, the bed configuration, the separate dining area, full kitchen. We were very comfortable as a family of 5, and didn't feel cramped for space at all!
Review 25:Suites are a little bit old and there was a little bit of musty smell in the room (probably from A/C).
Review 26:Great location, spacious suites, well equipped kitchen, nice surroundings (garden, pool, barbecue sites), the cleaning lady came every day, all you need for perfect family holidays! And you get 15% off in Ron Jon surf shop nearby :)
Review 27:I have nothing bad to say about the Walkula. We had a great time and have visited here for many years.
Review 28:It's great to have apartment/ condo style living at a reasonable cost and daily maid service too!
Review 29:WiFi was weak and intermittent. Had to login to the Wakulla home page every time to access internet.
Review 30:Great room for the money. Close to many local attractions and restaurants. Beautiful gardens. Cold AC. Proximity to the beach. Nice housekeeping staff.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:From the time we checked in to the time we left (6 days total). Everyone was helpful, and friendly. I would highly recommend the resort. The beach was just across the road with very easy access. I also loved the pool and courtyard area. Great place and economically price. We will definitely be back next year!!!
Review 33:Given a room on the main road so was noisy and away from the pool etc. Felt a bit unsafe as felt like a cheap motel. The room was very dated, and sofa/beds etc a bit tatty.
Review 34:Pool was nice!
Review 35:See above. Horrible and dirty place.
Review 36:The facility appeared dirty and old on the outside. I Once we entered our unit it just got worse. The carpeting appeared dirty and loose, I could have lift it up from cornersand look under Iif I wanted to. During our meal prep we had a roach scurry across kitchen counter. Lastly when we went to bed, I discovered sevral white hair on the bed sheets and I have black hair so Iit was not mine. After that all that I could not tolerate anymore and cut our stay short. We checked immediately th e next morning. It was supposed to be a birthday beach party for my daughter but the facilities were disgusting and ruined part of our plans. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
Review 37:The entire facility needs to be updated. Closet doors are rusty, carpetis old and smelly, bathroom is old, moldy, drainage is clogged withhuman hair from God-knows-when. Towels are too old and brownish white.
Review 38:The appliances need to be updated. It seemed like housekeeping was kind of spotty, but overall it's a great place.
Review 39:Location was great. Close to the beach, and lots of shopping, eating, etc., within walking distance. Pool was nice.
Review 40:The rooms are a bit dark and the plates, glasses etc are just about enough for four guests.
Review 41:We like the spacious rooms. The garden was nice as well as the short walk to the beach.
Review 42:no bad experience. Suggestions: another TV. One is difficult w/children who watch children's programs. Leaves adults out of TV viewing. Need Wifi in room Kitchen: need new or more pots/pans, silverware, bowls, etc.
Review 43:Room itself, set up great 4 family. Pool, beach, staff. All were excellent.
Review 44:The garden areas really need to be tended and trimmed, could use upgrades to the beds, but it wasn't horrible
Review 45:Over all it was nice, and we had a great time .
Review 46:The other guests were allowed to smoke cigarettes constantly, right outside their room, which was right outside our room. I wish there was a rule that people had to go to a smoking section so i didnt have to walk through a cloud of smoke every time I went to and from my room.
Review 47:Tropical landscape, good location, excellent staff.
Review 48:Four of the BBQ grills were broken during the July 4th weekend. When we politely asked the maintenance man to assist us...he was very rude. The maid tried to clean our room 2 hours before check-out. When we politely told her that we were checking out at 11am..she told us that we had to clean the room before we left. We won't be returning. Life is too short to pay people $300 per nite to be rude and unprofessional.
Review 49:The location. The rooms were clean.
Review 50:very beautiful garden, good for family, three minutes from ocean, room was cleaning every day, staff very friendly, Walmart five minutes driving.
Review 51:The rooms were lacking. Kitchen lacked some essential items, beds were very uncomfortable, everything was a bit run down and we got ants in the room each evening.
Review 52:I liked the location and the grounds were very nice with lots of native plants and outdoor space to enjoy. Close walk to the beach was great.
Review 53:The room 209 in the single and full sized bedroom had a very very uncomfortable full sized bed and Noisy (every time you moved). That full sized bed needs replaced.
Review 54:The staff was very helpful, both housekeeping and front desk. The tropical plants made it feel more exotic. Cocoa Beach is fun and family friendly.
Review 55:We were told that check-in was at 3:00, when we arrived, they told us 4:00, then at 4:00, it was 4:20, then we still had to go in and finally was given a room. The staff was not friendly or caring. The carpet in the room was very old and in bad condition. There were little ants on the kitchen counters. We also had a maintenance man knock on the door, 3 knocks, then before we could answer the door, he took his own key and barged in. We were "highly" disappointed to say the least.
Review 56:The only good thing about it is that it is in a good location.
Review 57:Shower head and sink knob needed to be replaced.
Review 58:The location was so close to the beach, the variety of plants was very interesting and the BBQ grills was a great plus. The rooms were so big & spacious, very clean and in great condition. The only complaint is the shower head needed to be replaced desperately as well as the sink head which needed an exorbent amount of strength to pull up. Aside from those two minor issues, it was a great experience and a great price for the giant, clean suite on the beach. Would definitely recommend!
Review 59:I did not like the false advertisement of it being "on" the beach. I still had to drive to the beach and pay for parking.
Review 60:I liked the size of the room as well as the comfort of beds. I appreciated the cleaning service each day.
Review 61:The rooms are old fashioned, small, and smells. The toilet handle was broken and rigged up. The air conditioner was not working properly. There is not enough sufficient parking for guests.
Review 62:The beach entry that's good wakulla residents only.
Review 63:Bed was horrible. Mattress was hard and squeaked with the slightest movement. Sofa and chairs were also very uncomfortable.
Review 64:The location was great. Short walk to the beach. Lots of great stores and restaurants close by. Staff was great. Called for grill to be lit they were there in less than 5 mins. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great pool area.
Review 65:Our room was dirty. Has blood stains behind front door. The shower had hair all over the walls. Mold growing in room. Towels in bathroom had stains.Dishes in kitchen were not cleaned. Hotel has not been renovated ever. Soda/food machine took our money and never gave us anything, when we reported it to front desk they told us to try a different machine or go to gas station.
Review 66:The pool was nice
Review 67:We were charged for the room at booking AND at checkout. Had to go thru credit card co for reimbursement, zero help from hotel. Skip this place altogether!
Review 68:nothing I can even think about to complain about - although if being extremely picky - tile would be better than carpet in bedrooms - but that is being picky to extreme - probably because as a rule even at home I don't care for carpet!!!
Review 69:everything - location - atmosphere - beautiful landscaping - great room - and very nice employees - loved it all!!
Review 70:I say this place need to be remodeled because there's a smell when u walk in. I don't know if it's mold or what. Everything was just out dated, smelly and old.
Review 71:Nice pool and the room was very spacious
Review 72:A large rowdy group came in our last night but that's not the hotel's fault.
Review 73:Loved the garden and many tropical plants. Loved all of the amenities, especially the grills. Great distance to beautiful ocean front.
Review 74:I feel that it's getting tired. Kitchen needed more utilities Bedrooms need better lighting
Review 75:the size of the suites the coffee the pool and the staff
Review 76:Did not have a bad experience only it rained the first night but not the hotels fault.
Review 77:I really liked the rooms and the kitchen and everything was clean.
Review 78:Really needs maintenance!!!! Toilet broken, keyless entry battery dead, bed broken and rooms need an overall repaint especially the trim!!!Shows that its on the beach its not cross a road and through a parkinglot but still pretty close.
Review 79:Right in the middle of cocoa beach. Short walk to pier. Pool and groundsare amazing.
Review 80:This hotel is old, but the management seems to be fixing it up. I hope they continue remodeling it.
Review 81:Being so close to the beach was awesome. We stayed in the section closest to the beach and it was nice to be able to walk outside and see the ocean without having a long walk. One of the people in our party has mobility issues and it was nice for her to be able to enjoy the view.
Review 82:Only 1 very old bathroom and no bedroom TV's, very cheesy kitchen dishes and utensils, refrigerator very old, drawers were missing. We are 2 retired couples that always travel together and these rooms are for young couple with young children...
Review 83:Location
Review 84:Cocroaches dirty carpets All the suite unclean no linen changed No service for two days not vacuumed since arrived website miss leading for Walk to beach
Review 85:I did not dislike anything. If I could change one thing, I would update the beds. They were comfortable but could have been better.
Review 86:The staff was excellent. Our whole stay there had a "laid back" feeling which is exactly what we were looking for. Southern charm!
Review 87:Wakula Suites allowed us the privacy of traveling with children that few hotels can offer. It is a family-friendly budget- conscious property. Front desk staff was friendly and daily housekeeping was excellent! Best housekeeping staff of our travels in years at all levels of hotels.
Review 88:We were greeted with a live roach when we entered the room, and greeted the next morning with a new live roach -- each between 2-3 inches long. The couch was propped up on one end with a 2x4 and fell down while we were sitting on it. The carpets were sticky and the toilet seat had cigarette burns on it. Overall my kids ranging from age 6 - 14 were fairly grossed out by staying there. And since the price was nearing $200/night, it seems fairly steep to pay for that level of cleanliness when the week prior (before the cruise) we had stayed at the Residence Inn down the street. Overall, would not recommend.
Review 89:The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful on recommending dining locations and giving us coupons.
Review 90:beds were a little uncomfortable - some bugs but with so many people renting hard to keep them super clean. Did not hold it against the resort or staff
Review 91:great location, very friendly staff
Review 92:Old, dated, dingy, dirty floors and dishes. We were in a beachside "villa", with basement windows and a view of parking lots on all sides. FloOr turned out feet black, I thought I might cry after seeing our "suite", this is no vacation.
Review 93:Bed was comfortable
Review 94:Looked run down. Shower drain didn't work, light in bdrm didn't work as well as in the big closet. Carpet stained, didn't want to walk without shoes or socks on, only 1 TV in a 2 bdrm suite. Outside walkway was very dirty-old chipped paint.
Review 95:The location
Review 96:The pictures that Wakulla provided on Booking.com were a bit outdated and the actual appearance of the suite was not exactly what we anticipated, but it was still comfortable and we grew to appreciate it the longer we stayed. It could also have been a little cleaner in some spots, but it is hard to expect pristine cleanliness with a suite right off the sandy beach.
Review 97:It was located on the beach and right down the street from Ron Jon Surf Shop. The suite was quaint and comfortable and we enjoyed the kitchenette, which allowed us to have home-cooked meals after a long day on the beach. Overall, we had a great stay and the price was reasonable for the facilities provided.
Review 98:My feet were black after walking on the carpet barefoot and the bathroom was not cleaned to my standards.
Review 99:You can't beat the location and the pool is adequate.
Review 100:No hot tub. Old building had windows that wouldn't close and broken glass. The mattresses were horrible!
Review 101:The plants around the pool and courtyard are beautiful. The pool was warm, but could have been bigger. The size of the room was good.
Review 102:All three times I walked into the lobby, I was never greeted by the staff.
Review 103:We liked the large space, full kitchen and seperate rooms. Lots of grills, clean pool
Review 104:Parking restricted. I would like a tv in each bedroom. Rates for weekly stay and monthly needed. I still recommend staying here.
Review 105:Enough space for the family to spread out. Staff nice. Close to beach. Plenty of gas grills and seating in courtyard. Overall very nice.
Review 106:All the rain!
Review 107:We are younger men in our 30s and with all the older people staying there for the winter it felt like we had our grams and paps there, just and a homey feel we all liked....
Review 108:Awesome location, great beaches, and the place itself had everything that we needed from the fully equipped kitchen Ronan awesome pool that my boys loved!
Review 109:desk not very friendly - on check out, "I presume your checking out." No good morning" or "how was your stay." Bath sink and tub drains slow. Bath vent fan not working. About 1/4 mile walk to beach from rooms near office.
Review 110:gas grill adjacent to unit
Review 111:Everything. This place is a dump. It is nothing like pics online. Dated back to 1970, dirty, bugs, kitchen infested with ants. Ash trays lined the rooms with plastic chairs, I was highly disappointed.
Review 112:Location is it!
Review 113:NOTHING
Review 114:I love the nice sized rooms. You are not squeezed in like most hotel rooms. The courtyard has a nice tropical feel. The pool is very nice with plenty of chairs and tables. We love this place. We have stayed there many times before and will stay there many more. I also liked the fact they had an upgrade to a 5 o'clock check out, comes in handy for some vacations.
Review 115:The staff were always friendly and helpful. The suite was clean and the beds were very comfortable. They even had board games we could borrow to help keep the kiddos entertained.
Review 116:There was only 1 night table in the master bedroom and therefore only 1 reading light. The bathroom needed some maintenance work. The kitchen table had a broken leg.
Review 117:Decor selected was very tropical and pleasant.
Review 118:two large bedrooms with walk-in closets full kitchen large bath very clean friendly staff accommodated late checkout safe location great dollar value for what you get
Review 119:It was a little worn. Cabinets, baseboards were scuffed and showed wear but honestly we were not in room that much and I did not expect the Ritz Carlton nor could I afford that. Staff was helpful and we had a great time there.
Review 120:It had beautiful gardens as seen on the website. We had a star fruit tree directly outside our door. And the kids loved the heated pool and easy access to beach. For a larger family looking for economical lodging near beach I would recommend this location. We used the kitchen and I appreciate having a refrigerator, microwave, and stove.
Review 121:1. Public have direct access to property through side entrances which poses a safety risk. 2. Towels rather old and worn and need replacing.
Review 122:1. Spaciousness 2. Tub/shower combination
Review 123:It was so nasty , dirty , and the room was full of mold ... the pictureson line totally lie and make it look beautiful.. It is not .. it wa sonasty we couldn't even shower there
Review 124:I liked everything the pillows the best of all,lol . Bed was comfortable . It was nice to have a full kitchen I was able to cook in I Love this place.
Review 125:The beautiful tropical garden was amazing to look at but the smell was overwhelming at night and made being outside almost impossible.
Review 126:Clean, quaint, tropical themed retreat. Loved the set up of the courtyard with the pool in the middle of the buildings and the beautiful trees and plants, like a private Oasis. Super close to Cocoa beach, Kennedy space Center and lots of shopping. Kids loved it. The 2 bedrooms were big and beds were comfy. Bbq's right outside for grilling. We will definitely be back again!
Review 127:A bit old and not as clean as I would like. But for the price well worth it.
Review 128:Good price for the area. Two bedrooms so we could actually get some sleep traveling with a child. Beds were very comfy and closet space was huge. We cold walk to beach in 5 minutes and landscaping was beautiful.
Review 129:That we couldn't stay longer.
Review 130:It was the best location for what we wanted to do. We rented bikes and rode to the port and back, then enjoyed relaxing by the pool.
Review 131:the onlu bad thing our suite in the kitchen we found two roaches I dislike roaches what can you expect with all these suited and everyone is using the kitchen
Review 132:This place was beautiful. I loved the pool. I love the walk to the private beach. Beautiful scenery and a lot of stores and restaurant near a by. I love how there was a dollar tree fight minutes away we were able to buy stuff for our suite. food, toiletris for the room I had a awesome experience.
Review 133:outside it looked a little dated but inside was clean. My wife's allergies didnt flare up once
Review 134:Super clean, gas grills all over property, kid pool was great, easy access to beach, couldnt get a better value for the price
Review 135:Was outdated and beds weren't very comfortable. The air conditioner was very loud and quite annoying at times.
Review 136:We loved the 2 bedrooms. Best place to stay for the value. The pool was very nice. Close to the beach. Clean. Very enjoyable stay!!
Review 137:The floors however were filthy. The gas grills would not ignite unless a Wakulla staff member was there to lite one. When asked said staff member never showed up. Pricing was OK but very confusing. I thought I was to pay $120 (or so) each night. INstead nightly pricing was all over the map fro m $70 per night to around $170 per night ... not a good way to get customers to return.
Review 138:The idea of having a two bedroom suite!
Review 139:The sink stung a lot and the water in the bath tub was stuck and did not flow off properlywhich was not very pleasant to stand in it
Review 140:Quite ok accommodation, spacious in a nice garden with pool and grill. Just a couple of minutes away from the beach.
