Was an uncomfortable situation with afake receipt - when you eat, you write your room number and pay later.Somebody wrote our room number and we were asked to pay extra 30 eur fordinner. And the most stupid thing is that if you're swimming in thepool, by 18:00 they will shout at you really angry to come out of thepool: "Go out! Boss will make problem! OUT!" That's notwhat you expect for 70+eur per night. Will never come here again.

Review 17：It seemed to me strange that we had an apartment with kitchenette that had an electric stovetop, but it was no pot, kettle or something else available. Of course, we were eating in the restaurant, but especially with small children, it would have been useful...

Review 18：We have been there with our two daughters and we had a 1 bedroom apartment. What we loved: the location itself, the views from the room, the friendly staff, restaurant, breakfast. The food in the restaurant was always good and fresh, the waiters were always helpful. I had some doubts before going there, after reading some reviews related to cleanliness. Maybe this is not their strongest point, but there were not important issues. During our stay, at the end of august, we always found available complimentary sunbeds on the hotel's beach.

Review 19：Unfortunately, there are a few but important things that we didn't really loved about Royal Bay:1. First of all, they have a true problem with the cleaning. It is superficial. When we took over the apartment and my children started to walk barefoot, in 2 minutes their soles were grey and full of sand and dust. Not to mention that when I moved the nightstand and the small dresser away, it was full of hair and scraps. I've told the receptionist and indeed, the lady washed the floor. But this is all they do, every day, but very shallow, without vacuuming. The rest is fine.2. The free wi-fi is horrible. You have a better chance to use the one from the reception, if you have emergencies...3. The room service they offer does not exist. One night, it was raining and the entire restaurant (the covered terrace) was full. We asked them to let us eat in the room and they said it is not possible. They offered us a rough table, near the bar, inside, but after 15 minutes, we still had no tablecloth or a menu list on the table, or a waiter to help us out. We moved on the terrace, under an umbrella, after 20 minutes nobody cleaned the table which was full of water from the rain drops and when finally a waiter came and I've asked him to take us the order because the children were hungry, he waved to me with his hand, in hurry, by back, to wait... this pissed me of but in the end, the manager of the restaurant came to apologize and sort it out for us somehow...4. The "clients of the house" are much better treated, which is fine for me, but shouldn't you want to earn some extra clients or do you consider your job is just to keep the old ones?!?5. The spoken English of the waiters is poor and the young people that serve at the beach bar manage it even harder! There is a nice guy though, who also serves on the beach, but the girl, is "horrible".6.

Review 20：1. The staff tries to be as nice as possible but they sure need some tourism and social orientation courses. 2. The waiters are mostly kind. 3. Good, fresh food at the restaurant. Bravo chef! 4. Quiet place, the beach is just in front of the hotel, nice cold water showers everywhere. 5. Nice view for all the rooms. 6. Large rooms, comfortable beds, clean bedding and towels, equipped kitchen (I recommend you to bring yourself a pot if you ever need to preheat something for the babies- they gave us one at our request, so it was fine) 7. Nice, polite, kind man at the grill stand. This idea of the barbecue place, outside, near the dining area was great. You can see how your food is cooked.

Review 21：Regarding value for money, the hotel is quite expensive for what you receive. However, if you use a one bed apartment for 4 persons, the value is ok. The hotel is older than it looks like and has some facilities that need repair. The elevator mostly which felt like it is going to get broken every moment. The bad was not comfortable.

Review 22：The staff is great. Gave all of the needed advises and was very friendly. The location is also great. The room was clean and the wifi was accessible everywhere.

Review 25：Food is not at par for a 4-star hotel, though they do try for variety. Again it seems to be more of a question of experience and better management of resources. Wi-fi signal is strong, but still the connection almost always doesn't work. Surrounding area isn't well-developed, lots of unfinished buildings and streets, one restaurant and one supermarket for the entire area (though this is not the hotel's fault of course)

Review 26：The location is fantastic, all rooms of the hotel overlooking the sea, with the hotel having a small private beach and promenade, a grass volleyball field and a seafront beach bar. Also there are two other small, but good beaches, located nearby. Staff is friendly, but I'd say lacking experience, which they need for a 4-star hotel. Plenty of parking space, which is crucial given you're almost certain to visit with car due to the location.

Review 27：The rooms was dirty, there was a lot of different bugs in the room, which were crowling all over the bed and in the sheetes. It was a nightmare to sleep in the room. The food in the restorant wasn't good. The dishes described in the menu were very different from the real ones, but the prices were too high for the quality they offer. This is not 4 stars hotel!

Review 32：There is a small beach with free chairs but only if you are up at 8am. After that all chairs were occupied and we had to go to a private beach and we had to pay for the chairs and the umbrella. That is not correct. The breakfast was bad. Nobody cleaned the tables, the coffee and juice selection was bad, no coffee cups were available. When ordering dinner in the hotel restaurant I first ordered trout but the waiter recommended something else because "the trout is not fresh". My girlfriend ordered some other local fish which we had to return because it smelled and tasted like garbage. When we asked the waiter to remove the smelly fish he said "I told you, the fish is not fresh". On the next day my girlfriend had bad stomache and head ache and she vomited several times. The food was a disaster. Wifi is terribly slow.

Review 44：- a minor thing: the shower head had a small crack (I guess it was dropped on the floor) and water was thrown through it on one side wetting outside the shower cabin. I've told the receptionist about this and he noted down, however it was not changed during our stay (we stayed only one night though). Still, the cleaning man should have noticed that when cleaning the room and report it... - the insects net wasn't closing properly (there was a small space on the bottom), however we haven't got any mosquitos. - there was a hob in the room, however there were no bowls or pans in the drawers to heat water in (for tea etc.). - the hotel feels more like a 3-star hotel, but it's still ok

Review 51：The sleeping arrangements were not according to the four stars rating. For example, on a double bed mattress, they put two small bedsheets, which can cause some discomfort, plus the pillows, not as good quality as expected.

Review 63：Despite of some other reviews, the biggest problem of this hotel is the cleanliness of rooms. The floor of our apartment (403) has not been cleaned for 3 days (except the bathroom) and the corners have been full of spiderwebs. We've appreciated the problem has been fixed as soon as we reported it. The towels and especially the bedclothes and mattress covers seem to be cheap, old and shabby. Definitely they MUST be changed! Overall, the quality of sleep has been poor: we felt the beds and sleep environment as being "dirty". The shower drain is not so efficient and the water gets all over the bathroom floor (no towel for floor!). The breakfast is very poor: not a lot of choices, cheap products, bad quality of coffee and juices. It should be improved!

Review 64：The location of this hotel is its added value: it has its own sandy beach in front of, the view is beautiful and the place is relaxing and quiet. The staff is friendly and the front office personnel is very helpful: we've had 2 problems to be solved (shower and cleanliness) and they've been very reactive for both. The food (except the breakfast) is very tasty and well-prepared and the resto has a great view. Almost all the waiters are very attentive.

Review 65：It is in the middle of nowhere so if you dont have a car you should forget it. There was a hole on the bathroom wall where the ventilation was supposed to be and for the time we stayed there (more than a week) nobody came to repair it. Some of the evening staff at the restaurant was really snotty and acting like they are doing us a favour.

Review 67：I wouldn't reduce the overall rating of the hotel for the small cones I will list next and you shouldn't take it into consideration if you've already decided to go there, but imo they are worth mentioning: * the main door leading to the reception and the door leading to the swimming pool/ the beach are not automatic and it's hassle to go in and out with you luggage or going out with the plates from breakfast to the pool. * there was no mirror in one of the toilets. * there was hair under the sheets on one of the beds. * most of the balconies had swallow nests. * there are a lot of mosquitoes so take precautions. * one of the towels had something like a skidmark.

Review 68：We were very pleased with our stay at Royal Bay, definitely 10/10. Food was good, staff was very helpful and smiley. The view from our apartment was one of a kind, beach and swimming pool were good too. Restaurant food was good value for money too. There is a lovely beach bar you could go after lunch or dinner. There are many places to visit within 5-10 minutes drive of the hotel, like the botanical garden in balchik, the castle of balchik, the kaliakra cliffs, the bolata beach etc... Our apartment was relatively clean, there is an AC in every room and 2 toilets per apartment.

Review 69：Flies, mosquitoes and bugs everywhere... including flies on the food every morning, at breakfast. Got a food poisoning from a dinner at the hotel's restaurant, not sure about the reason. My sun suffered terribly because of mosquitoes on our first night, so do not forget to bring your mosquito protector.

The room was cleaned every day, towels changed twice during the week we stayed there. Small, yet pleasant private beach, free sun lounges and umbrellas.
