Reviews for Eldorado Hotel and Spa
Review 1:Valet dropped key box from door window and chipped a chunk of paint off the driver side door. We think John realized it happened. Our car is brand new, very upsetting
Review 2:We discovered the Eldorado last Oct. by way of a Spa appt. We have a time share nearby and walked over. That was such a great experience , we planned 3 extra days onto our anniversary time share week to return to the Spa experience. All staff is beautifully trained, enjoyed Jodi and Salvador's service in Agave, John served us so kindly.
Review 3:They charged my card before my stay when I clearly chose the website that said that this would not happen and there was no cancellation fees
Review 4:Conveniently located
Review 5:Parking, at $24 bucks per day, is a bit cheeky but the ease of parking and the parking valet staff make it probably worth it.
Review 6:Great place to stay in Santa Fe, walk to everything.
Review 7:Not a bad experience, but we found the rooms and bathroom to be dark. Hard to put on makeup and to read.
Review 8:Happy Hour in the bar area. Great staff, wonderful food and drinks. Loved the breakfast.
Review 9:The hotel had not received the correct information from Booking.com. However, they did find another room for us. The hotel had recently remodeled the loung area. It's a modern look, which I like, but doesn't fit with the rest of the hotel. Definitely liked the Santa Fe style more.
Review 10:Location.
Review 11:The air conditioning was not working throughout the hotel. It was an especially hot day. Our room temp was warm until late in the evening then it did cool down and we slept comfortably. The event (Spanish Market) room was comfortable, but the bar and restaurant were very very warm/hot.
Review 12:HUGE rooms, nice and responsive staff (very concerned about guest comfort and dismayed the A/C was not functioning properly), great location.
Review 13:If breakfast was included we were not made aware of it. The room was just ok for the price, but the bed was comfortable.
Review 14:Comfortable beds and nice bar drinks during happy hour
Review 15:There were many other charges! Watch for that! They had what looked like complimentary water in the room...but would have charged $3.50 if you drank it. The spAs, the meals, etc...everything sounded a bit pricey. We didn't get a chance to really partake however, as our stay was cut a bit short. Didn't care for the right downtown thing, as I hate the bigger cities....but was no problem going to the garage for something forgotten from the car, so it made up for that.
Review 16:It was an amazing motel...and we got a wonderful price with booking.com. Also, because of my reading reviews, I WAS expecting to pay a parking fee, but, we got there so late the clerk waved that fee anyway. They were all very pleasant! He also gave us all a bottled water when we checked in. Very beautiful, very clean, very comforting. Wish we could've stayed longer!
Review 17:Pool & jacuzzi were a HUGE disappointment! Very small and seemed dated and dirty so didn't get in pool at all and spa was so tiny that 3 people were barely able to get in at one time. If pool is impt to you, do not stay here.
Review 18:Very good location, close to everything. Hotel was clean and felt unique in the decor, warm & cozy. Staff was pleasant but not too many around.
Review 19:The air conditioning was working at suboptimal temp. Repeated notes and inquiries with the front desk staff resulted in no action prior to checkout. Had to do with a $20 floor fan on our $200 room. T otherwise the hotel was great
Review 20:It's a wonderful hotel. Great location with good service
Review 21:The air conditioner was suboptimal. With three in the room-we were uncomfortable with the heat and had to purchase a fan. We did ask the front desk to check on the AC. After returning from a long hot day-the AC remained suboptimal.
Review 22:Cleanliness and promptness . Room service was excellent. Everyone -for the most part-was very friendly and helpful.
Review 23:My only complaint was the exercise room. While there were sufficient machines, the room carried a bit of a mildewy odor and was bad enough that I chose not to work out there.
Review 24:We had a lovely three night stay at the Eldorado. It is in a great location, just a few minute walk to the historic plaza and Canyon Road. The hotel lobby is quite welcoming and has a Southwest feel to it. The staff were helpful upon arrival. Our room was on the fifth floor (the hotel has 5 floors) and was a spacious and clean room with two double beds and a kiva fireplace along with a clean and decent size bathroom. There was a pool on the rooftop which while not terribly large, was clean and comfortable. There also was a hot tub which was quite enjoyable as the temperatures dipped and the evenings were in the low 60s/high 50s. My youngest son and I ate breakfast one morning in the Agave restaurant and it was a solid choice, not terribly over-priced, great service, relaxing atmosphere and good food. There is on site parking which was more expensive than I expected ($24/valet) but there aren't a lot of options so we made use of it --- and the valets were super quick getting the car. The hotel was reasonably priced --- I had looked into other options rated higher, but the prices were significantly higher for the dates we planned to be in Santa Fe. I'm sure there are other premium hotels that we would have enjoyed and been a step up from the Eldorado. However, I found this to be a wonderful choice and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a nice place in a great location.
Review 25:Liked the room decor, balcony, bath. Especially loved the rooftop jacuzzi - it's one of the reasons I booked the hotel! Had a delicious meal at the Old World Restaurant; wait staff was particularly nice.
Review 26:I understand that there might not be always nice and good customers that understands everything from the very first point, especially if are used to europien standards but personal shouldn't forget to treat customer always kindly and do not give them impression that are stupid. We have rebooked room with balcony view, at night was aircondition or other equipment on the other floors too laud. Swimming pool on 5th floor, small, windy and dirty!
Review 27:Hotel seemed to be really nice, close to the old city and shops.I was very sitisfied with spa and massages. Both masseurs are professional.Kindly recommended. Bar and restaurant high quality and nice design. Recommended!
Review 28:Although the weather was lovely during our visit, we can't open the window since the smell of asphalt roof below was so strong during the day. The shower floor is plastic which cheapen the rest of a nicely finished bath room. The decorating inside the room could use some freshen up. Also the $24 per night parking fee.
Review 29:Location, staff, and comfortable bed.
Review 30:Renevations occurred during our stay. Also, restaurant booked for event so could not eat there one of our days. Lastly charged for parking wi th out letting g us know.
Review 31:Nice hotel and rooms
Review 32:Only thing I didn't like was I was charged for a parking spot and I didn't even have a car. Took the rail runner up there. However, they did take the charge off.
Review 33:Quiet and peaceful
Review 34:TV was small; slow performance; need to upgrade. Pillows were way too soft...uncomfortable.
Review 35:Location was great; Staff did a great job and were helpful with giving recommendations for places to heat. Bathrooms were in great condition. Clean rooms.
Review 36:Fumes from the kitchen in Room 319 (I have asthma). WiFi is weak - I needed it for work but was not able to work in my room. Computers in business room were broken; WiFi in business room did not work when I needed to print boarding passes.
Review 37:The staff was very friendly; room is large, comfortable and clean; food in restaurant is good.

Review 41:Bathtub did not drain properly and the air conditioner did not work.

Review 53:Wide and nicely decorated hallways. Overall architecture. Staff extremely gracious.
Review 54:The soft bed

Review 56:The lighting in the room was terrible. The carpeting in the hallways was dirty; it had spots that should have been steam cleaned away.
Review 57:beds. pool deck. poor service personnel presence.

Review 85:QUICK RESPONSE BY STAFF TO REQUESTS. ROOM WAS ATTRACTIVE AND COMFY..
Review 86:staff not friendly. poor decor and all around feeling for property
Review 87:Hall carpets were dirty Front desk staff weren't particularly friendly
Review 88:Very nice room and excellent location
Review 89:Marketing was very deceiving. Quoted 269 per night. Second night increased to 309. Only way to pickup was from total charge for 2 nights which included taxes etc. Informed management by phone and email with no response.
Review 90:Very overpriced for quality of hotel.
Review 91:The required valet parking was a slight hassle. Our room wasn't as up-to-date as we expected, a bit of a letdown, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was fine overall.
Review 92:The location was great, with everything we wanted to see and great restaurants within easy walking distance. There is also a free shuttle stop right next to the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the concierge. The infused water in the lobby was helpful for staying hydrated. We'd take a cup with us every time we headed out. The robes in the room were the most comfortable I've ever worn.
Review 93:Food was good, but service was inconsistent in the restaurant.
Review 94:Great room, great atmosphere, helpful staff. Concierge was excellent - recommendations for restaurants, museums and hiking. Liked the Agave Lounge.
Review 95:We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service at the front desk and elsewhere. The room was very nice, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom well appointed.
Review 96:- our room had no robes - after asking housekeeping, they produced one (not two.) - some of front desk staff seemed very junior and not that interested in being there.
Review 97:- great location, nice facilities - LOVED the real wood burning fireplaces in the room. 2 of 3 times they responded to request to light the fire (forgot us 1 time) - great concierge (woman) - hot cider in lobby in evenings was wonderful; infused water in day great - used hot tub on roof and workout facilities -- both very good.
Review 98:Kept barking my shin on corner of bedframe so I tucked a bath towel around it.
Review 99:Beautiful hotel. Awesome view from rooms balcony. Outstanding food. Really loved the personal products (body butter, shampoo, rinse, soaps). Bathroom linens were wonderful.
Review 100:I didn't like to stay in room 260. It is way far from the elevator bank. Sometimes I would go down to smoke a cigarette and it was like walking along a city block. Just a hassle. I am not lazy but one hotel room should be reached quicker than I did.
Review 101:Nice location.
Review 102:Rooms ordinary for price. Never saw the spa or any indication of whereit was. Swimming pool very small. No evening massages. Waitress inrestaurant got our order wrong.
Review 103:We have allergy to feathers, and found our room prepared with feather-free pillows. However, in the middle of the night we found out the mattress had feathers. The staff apologized and worked like horses to prepare another room and move us there. Things like that can happen, and the staff fixed it perfectly. So nothing to complain about!
Review 104:This is without any doubt a very good and luxurious hotel. Highly recommended. Great location, great staff, great breakfast, great room. What more to ask for you may think: The hotel provided two complimentary oxygen treatments per day to treat our altitude sickness, and it really helped.
Review 105:Lovely accommodations! Staff very friendly & very friendly to my little dog. My last visit in Santa Fe was also at a pet friendly hotel which was NOT. This experience was wonderful.
Review 106:We would have liked for the hotel to have had a gift shop, but I assumethat since we were so close to the Santa Fe plaza, it was deemedunnecessary.
Review 107:The staff was excellent: friendly and always helpful, especially John.We took our Yorkie and she was treated like royalty. Room was clean andstaff was prompt when called upon. We loved the hotel's proximity tothe Santa Fe plaza.
