Review 1：Ice machine broken, roaches in the room. Fridge door hard to close. When closed contents would freeze, lack of housekeeping (bed unmade, no clean towels), paint splotches on bathroom walls. Couldn't completely close curtain. Inability to contact office slightly before and after 10:00pm.

Review 3：This was our 2nd time to stay here. Each time the staff was so helpful and enjoyable to converse with at the OBI. Plan to go back as it truly is a great bargain and conveniently located to the places we visited while at OBX.

Review 4：I did not mind the 3 flights of stairs, but some might. This property does not have an elevator or an indoor year round pool. But we did not need either.

Review 5：Front desk staff was super friendly and very accomadating. I was traveling with my oldest daughter, her husband and there best friend. We had booked a room with 2 queen beds. We weren't planning on spending much time in the room, since we had come over to OBX for a beer festival. But the front desk up graded us to the room that had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. So I had my own space on the couch. The fresh made cookies at check in were nice.

Review 7：overall pleased, I will always go there to stay while at OBX. Great place, people are great. no complaints.. but make sure you bring your own shampoo, not furnished here.

We were there last year and had a wonderful time so we returned again, but roaches were crawling up the walls, in the air conditioner, on the windows, all over the bathroom. The clerk deducted part of the bill for the inconvenience, but we probably will go elsewhere next year.

Review 10：The motel did not have an elevator and I was traveling with my elderly father so the narrow stairs were quite an issue for him. I would never have booked here if I knew that. I had asked for a first floor room in my booking and they ignored that request and put us on the 3rd floor.

Review 12：We had ants on the top of our dresser and the housekeeping staff didn't have any ant spray, so I asked for the hornet spray I saw and it helped the problem.

Review 14：The whole hotel is in need of a lot of TLC. the room carpets were sticky and stained my white socks. Plaster was falling off the walls and the public areas were no better. Breakfast was very limited indeed. I have had much better at budget motels. Prices are for 4star hotel is 1star at best. Avoid. Better hotels are available at similar prices.

Review 15：The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has a private pool and is located close to the beach. A shuttle is available for those who can't or won't walk.

Review 16：It is what it is, but just to know it is an older hotel. Outside very neat and clean, but you can tell it's older inside. Tubs and walls in the bathroom need to be updated. They did have a slight smell to them.

Review 24：The rooms should have been aired out to make them fresh before we checked in. The breakfast was very limited. They don't rent beach towels (only pool towels). No lift - would have been good if they had clearly stated this as my dad would not have been able to lift his suitcase up the stairs to the 3rd floor by himself. No staff was available to help as we checked in late at night.

Review 31：After booking this hotel for my daughter and son in law for thier wedding night, we arrived to dress the bride. We had to walk her up and down 3 flights of very narrow stairs. Upon opening the room door we were hit with a very stong puget mold odor. Wit severe concerns for thier health we got our money back and put them in a different hotel.

Review 32：Breakfast was disappointing, air conditioner made a lot of noise, beds had sheets and comforter but no blanket (front desk provided blankets on request). First room had a terrible smell, we were moved to another room with no problems.

Review 36：Old and smelly. Ceiling in room had 3 small holes in it. Tub was old and had several patch jobs in it. Continental breakfast was poor. They served bagels for two days with no cream cheese. Mid-afternoon they baked cookies. One day out of four, we could actually eat the cookies.

There was a non-slip suction cup mat for the bath tub flooring with excessive (trulyexcessive) mold on the bottom of the suction cups - above all the roomsmelled like mold/mildew. The ac worked great and there was a fridgeand a microwave and a tv. No floor space and very little room to walkaround. The pool was small and salty and it was not a salt water pool soI am supposing that is other people's sweat. The staff was friendly,but also a bit unprofessional as they were just chatting loudly in thehallways with each other. People were smoking right at the entrance tothe pool. Sick.

Review 42：!The ac - worked great... Tv worked fine... There was a microwave andfridge which is nice. It is right by the 17th Street Surf shop. They dooffer a shuttle (golf cart thing) that goes to the beach if you needdrop off/pick up which is nice. We didn't use it though.

Review 45：This place needs an elevator!!! Hauling luggage up 3 flights of stairs is not fun. I tripped and fell on my knees while doing this. My husband has a bad hip and knee. It wasn't a pretty picture!!! I told the front desk clerk when checking out that they needed to install an elevator. She told me to request a different floor next time. We took the last room available. The rooms are small and so is the pool, also the parking areas are very compact.

Review 55：Great location. The kids really enjoyed the pool when it was too hot for the beach. Double room with the sleeper sofa was plenty big enough for a family with three kids. Staff was very friendly.

The room we had was right beside the outside door and all you could hear at night was the slamming of the outside door. The room was hot and the ac was barely cooling it off. Also the breakfast was very small.

Room didn't cool down for 4 hours, the drapes fit the window so poorly that the room wasn't dark enough to sleep in, furnishings were very outdated, cigarette burns on edge of tub. Frankly I'm baffled how this place's reviews yield a high rating. This was comparable to a $60/night hotel, not one costing $150+/night.

Review 81：Where do I start. The building did not look like the picture online as it was sandwiched between two other buildings when we arrived. Funny that wasn't shown . I was greeted by a clerk who was new to the area so she could tell me nothing about where to eat. The first thing entering our room was the awful smell. Please don't apologize saying its because you are near the beach because I have stayed at hotels at the beach and have never experienced this. The carpet was damp in room 211. The tub faucet comes off the tub. There is mold in there. My shower curtain had mold on it. The mildew and mold caused my migraines to stay with the entire stay. Your staff did not clean the room. They only made the bed and put in clean towels. They smoked on the stairwell each time we left. Again triggering a migraine. I slept on top the blankets and something bit me in several places on the back of my neck. You remodeled in June? You are no where near ready to open. And to charge such a high price in the fall? For such low, health hazardous , and unclean place. I won't be back and won't recommend to my friends. I would have left if I could have found a room.

Review 87：The pool area was not very clean. Our room had what I called a "unique" smell, but two of my children called a "bad" smell. Apparently we somehow ended up in one of the smallest rooms in the inn, which would have been much more difficult if we had stayed more than one night. Review 88：It was nice to be able to walk to the very nearby beach. The staff seemed to do the best they could. We were able to find an affordable place to stay for the one night we needed housing. We all slept well. Lots of restaurants and stores very nearby. Continental breakfast was very adequate.

The air condition unit smelled of mould. Went to thereceptionist and told him about, ofcause the only thing he could do wasspray som chemical in the air condition unit so it for 10 mins onlysmelled a bit of mould. The room we where in where just at the hallwayexit door, and this door slammed so loud every time some other guestcame in or out that we where woken up each time. I would never stayanother night here again. We have slept in 15 different hotels, inns ecton our trip from New York to Miami and this place is the only dump westayed in.

Review 92：Musty Smell in building. Hear people walking over your head. Someone's blond hairs found in bed & all over bathroom. Tub part of shower didn't work. Mold on bathroom ceiling. Spots on carpet.

Review 94：The staff at the desk when I arrived was efficient but could have been a bit more friendly, she seemed hurried and flew through the rote that she is required to give. The toilet paper holder in the room was cobbled together and when trying to get paper from the roll the spring holder would come from the frame and the tp would go on the floor behind the toilet.. I just left the tp on the sink counter to avoid having to retrieve the tp .

Review 109：took pictures of inside "Deluxe" room, poorly patched holes in walls. Bathtub had long grey areas of lost coating. Wood moulding around tub showed rusty nails. Main room ceiling showed bulges from poor repair work. Carpet very dirty, stained. TV worked intermittently as did sound.

The room smelled musty, but then again it was just one week after a major hurricane, so everything was damp and more humid than usual. The breakfast was very "light"; if you enjoy eating a good breakfast, plan to go out for your morning meal. The Inn was sufficient for our needs, but it is right on the busy road, a fair distance to the beach.

Review 112：Stayed at Outer Banks Inn for one night before checking into a beach house for the week. The room was small, but clean and very efficient with refrig, and microwave. The staff were extremely friendly and the bed was very comfortable.

In a place like the outer banks where it is hard to get around relaxing by the pool next to a bar/ restuarant that offered food would have been nice.
