Reviews for Yonca Lodge
Review 1:The lodge was very obviously preparing to close for the season. A very poor and limited choice of food for the evening meal. The lack of lighting in the grounds at night was dangerous. We had 2 days with no hot or even mildly warm water. No sun no back up..
Review 2:The beds were comfortable. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
Review 3:Not much round about, but taxis and dolmuses were close by. This didn't bother us as we never left Yonca Lodge the whole time we were there as liked the ambience!
Review 4:We loved the rustic feel of this property, there were chickens etc roaming about giving it a country feel but it was right on the beach. Mixture of everything. Good food and all home grown and cooked. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Idyllic location if you want a relaxing holiday.
Review 5:Yonca Lodge is in an outstanding serene location, far away from the big cities of Dalaman and Fethiye. Staff and food were excellent. Wonderful fragrances from citrus trees and other flowers throughout the site.
Review 6:Yonca Lodge is nearly perfect, kind of small paradise. Very nice clean beach with small trees for laying in the shadow, enough space, sun beds and towels for all guests, perfect view with islands and sailing boats at horizon and very beautiful sunset. Restaurant directly at the beach. When it is raining, all guests find place in the nice glass house directly behind the beach. The hotel personal is not especially deft, but very friendly, ready to help at any time of the day, it gives one a relaxed family feeling. We stayed at the superior room with terrace, but also saw all other types of rooms. All rooms are spacious and cosy. Our superior room had a fireplace. The meal (rich breakfast, during the whole day and at the evening it was possible to order a la carte, in the evening also big or small menu with delicious Turkish appetizers, tee & snack in the afternoon) was fresh and delicious, a lot of choice for vegetarians.
Review 7:It is quite a long way from any town, which didn't bother us, but could be a problem if you want lively nightlife.
Review 8:Yonca Lodge is delightful. It is set in an orchard with many varieties of ducks and chickens roaming free. There is a little river flowing down the side of the property, where turtles come to bask in the sun. We dined on the beach with lovely views. The food was very fresh and beautifully cooked and the staff very friendly. There were many thoughtful gestures to make our stay more comfortable, such as complimentary tea each afternoon and complementary bottles of water in the room. The rooms were light and spacious with a good sized fridge and we especially appreciated having two balconies, so that one was always in the shade (or sun as you preferred) If you factor in the very reasonable price, then it's the best place we have ever stayed.
Review 9:Choise for breakfast very limited. Noise from hotels in neighborhood loud music and live music till 2:00h AM in the morning every night. Difficult to sleep. Due to loud music in the night I can unfortunately not recommend this lodge.
Review 10:Nice location Only 14 rooms Quite (in principle) Breakfast at the beach Natural feeling Staff very gentle and very obliging
Review 11:No hot water before 10 am Swimming pool closed Street light shone directly into room Chickens and cats roaming freely on beach and around eating areas Staff smoking in breakfast room Restaurant had bright LED lights dazzling cats kids dog chasing about very noisy Asked to order meal early but did see why very ordinary food Room chilly and gloomy
Review 12:Lovely garden on beach Afternoon tea served on beach complimentary coffee with meal
Review 13:There's a ridge of pebbles to get over when getting into the sea, so advise bringing plastic shoes. Perhaps the hotel could provide some to lend?
Review 14:Spent three days here and loved it so much we didn't leave the sandy beach. Liked the two loggerhead turtle nests, being carefully looked after by volunteers. Lots of shade under trees on the beach, lovely places to sit. The pool was great, as was the restaurant with good home cooked food, using organic produce. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. Our favourite place by the sea!
Review 15:The whole setup is lovely: people, lay-out of the garden, restaurant on the beach, well-maintained pool, great relaxing-places, every day at 4pm tea-session (free!), great menus.
Review 16:None
Review 17:Everything about the place. - The food was simple, fresh and deliciois. - The 5 o'clock tea and treats. - The staff felt like family. - It was perfect for my little kids. - The beach with the hammocks and shaded seating with trees.
Review 18:There was a bit of a smell in our bathroom. I think it was coming from the open skylight there, but we couldn't get it to close. Also it would be helpful if more of the staff knew english, since the place seems to attract mostly tourists.
Review 19:Beatiful location. Beach front with meal tables set up right on the beach. Quiet, away from the touristy Fethiye. Lots of animals around giving it a feeling that you are staying in a village, which you are. Staff was really helpful with everything. A place to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Review 20:The mosquito problem at Yonca Lodge is serious - both in the garden and inside the rooms. At night, there is significant noise (very loud music) coming from the resorts in the vicinity. The beach is great, but the bay is dominated by water sports activity from the surrounding resorts - not exactly peaceful. The wi-fi is nearly non-existent. We could not go online in our room at all. We booked (and paid for) a six night stay at Yonca, but left after one night. This Lodge may be someone's perfect holiday, but it is not a great option for couples looking for a base to explore this part of the Turkish coast. The lodge is quite a distance from Fethiye town, and frequent trips to the town or surrounds are not really feasible (cheap minibus taxis are available, but it is not a particularly pleasant trip). Whilst the staff was friendly, they did not take any time to tell us about the area and sightseeing options.
Review 21:Yonca Lodge doesn't have the over-commercialized "resort-feel" of some places on this coast. It could be a great holiday for family with kids who just want to relax on the beach.
Review 22:restaurant staff does not speak very well english but a minor point. Neighbour hotel is one of these all inclusive places so sometimes noise of cheap show in the evening. But nothing unbearable.
Review 23:location is beautiful, romantic, staff very kind and helpful, quiet, nice food with reasonable prices. dinners on the beach are great. Quiet, nice rooms, air con works well, so does wifi recommended
Review 24:Everything was fab!! The location (view from the beach is fantastic - beautiful islands), the rooms (fresh & new.. natural wooden floors, comfy beds, cotton sheets) the atmosphere (so relaxing - hammocks everywhere) the restaurant (tables were right on the beach) the food (produced themselves or locally sourced) the pool (clean & of good size) the stream (with ducklings & the frogs that croaked all night) the staff (so warm & friendly- treat you like family)
Review 25:A little farther from Fethiye than I thought.
Review 26:An amazing place to relax and unwind.
Review 27:the choice of food could have been better no stunning view from our room
Review 28:the peace and the views and all the animals
Review 29:Cost..expensive for turkey. No sea view.
Review 30:Relaxed. Close to private beach. Food.
Review 31:Not super clean. Chicken poop everywhere. Roosters waking you up at 5am
Review 32:Calm, peaceful, cheap, great domestic food
Review 33:Dinner preparation takes some time
Review 34:Garden and beach, cosy and very clean room with two balcony's, attentive staff
Review 35:The general ambience was wonderfully relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was local, fresh and tasty. Loved all the chicks.
Review 36:Everything was natural, staff were friendly and always smiling and food was tasty
Review 37:roosters in the morning
Review 38:everything
Review 39:Nothıng
Review 40:The welcome ....the kındness the food....all was great
Review 41:Nothing.
Review 42:The position - a really relaxing organic small-holding with chickens and ducks among the numerous citrus trees. The food - really delicious breakfasts with an amazing choice of home-made preserves and excellent snacks and dinners. All staff are very friendly.
Review 43:I've been in Yonca Lodge 5 days and was enjoying every minute. At the same time you hear the nightingales, roosters, and noise of the surf. This is the perfect place if you really need relaxing. Laid table with your breakfast near sealine, simple food, local cuisine, frendly staff, hammock and a good book - it's all there in the Yonca Lodge.
Review 44:Uncomfortable, hard bench in the sitting area of the room. Also small, wooden chairs on the balcony were really uncomfortable.
Review 45:Friendly, helpful staff. Chickens and geese wandering free in the gardens, Restaurant with tables on the beach serving delicious, home grown, healthy food. Peace and quiet - a magical place.
Review 46:This was a truly amazingly good experience. We loved everything about the place -- especially the healthy food, all homemade and often picked from their garden! Thanks to a conscientious staff and the owner who has made a perfect retreat for people to enjoy.
Review 47:A bit far from the town centre, less opportunities to experience the Fethiye harbor or the town.
Review 48:Clean, comfortable, with great garden and sea views, nice people, lots of animals and fruit trees. Great arrangement, ecological friendly!
Review 49:The Wifi connection in my room was terrible, so I had to keep close to the balcony each time to catch good signal. Quite cold at night and the blankets doesnt help much. But probably its because of April is not the right season yet.
Review 50:The place looks like a garden, with lost of trees, natural lake with fish and turtles, home animals everywhere. Perfect for quiet family vacations. Just by the sea, having its own clean beach side. View is amazing. The staff is very very friendly.
Review 51:The beach around the hotel, nice but not really special, is the best in the area. The others, in the surroundings, could also be nice but are very very crowded and dirty (in August!). Also the famous Oludeniz, from this point of view, is a nightmare.
Review 52:The place is really very nice, the "restaurant", a few tables on the beach, is fantastic. The cooking is simple but very well done. Large rooms and good cleaning. The staff is very friendly and kind
Review 53:I loved the beach access including lounge chairs and towels. It was very nice, but did not feel like a pretentious, upscale resort (this is a good thing). Dining on the sand at sunset is lovely and the staff is more than helpful and incredibly friendly. Staff had great personalities.
Review 54:Nothing. However the hotel could promote itself better by providing barmenus and letting guests know about the evening dining options. There isan 'a la carte' menu as well as several set menu options. Theprice is much cheaper than the 20 Euros per head stated on ourconfirmation made through in this website ( that is very expensive byTurkish standards.)
Review 55:The location was fantastic with breakfast and dinner served at therestaurant right on the beach - think your toes in the sand. The hotelwas an oasis of calm retreat after the hectic noise of the nearbytourist resorts of Fethiye and Oludeniz. The farm style eco-tourismpresentation was great - fruit growing all over the lush green gardenswith magnificent grapevines. The Super strength internet advertisedexceeded our expectations. Its good enough to conduct business if youneed to while on holiday. The staff were super helpful and friendly.Excllent I would definitely recommend to familes and couples looking fora quiter holiday. I would return without hesitation.
Review 56:Liked everything
Review 57:Wonderful location with really kind attentive and friendly staff.Nothing was too much trouble.Eating dinner on the beach watching the sun go down quite magical.very relaxed atmosphere and all locally sourced ingredients .
Review 58:In the morning the sea is calm and clear, but in June a lot of sea grass.
Review 59:Many thanks to Daniela and all the hotel staff for their hospitality! I am, really. been a guest of a large and happy family. Everywhere felt friendly and democratic aura. The hotel consists of several buildings, the rooms are all different, but each is interesting in its own way. The room has a large bed, chair, kettle with tea, sugar and coffee, refrigerator charge. Constantly clean and pure. Beach towels change, when you want. All are ready to help at any time.If you take only breakfast, anyway, you can treat yourself for the day for free fruit and afternoon tea waiting for you with cookies and cakes. Sun beds are always free. Shower on the beach and near the two pools. The flora and fauna of this hotel allows you to say that you are in heaven on earth. Special thanks to Daniele-one each tourist pays its attention and often utters a fair sentence, "No problem" :))
Review 60:It is a place to enjoy the quiet and relax: not a lot of things to to or see around without a car. Sometimes you could hear the party scene from the other hotels at night, but it didn t bother us at all and we still enjoyed this wonderful place.
Review 61:We stayed for 3 nights in a penthouse room. The room was fantastic, charming and very clean. The garden, the pool and the beach is wonderful. There are fruit trees around and chickens running freely. The staff was very nice and caring. We really enjoyed our stay at Yonca Lodge. The food is mainly made of self grown or organic food, the breakfast buffet was delicious. Thank you Yonca lodge staff for this wonderful stay!
Review 62:Leaving
Review 63:They really made THE perfect stay. We would have loved to stay more. Heartly advised to all those who dream about having breakfast and dinner right on the beach. Really an amazing location.
Review 64:Regrettably this paradise is not completly isolated. The sound of the frogs is mixed with the dance music of the nearby resort. Luckily our frogs are louder. Allthough very comfortable, the superior room is slightly overpriced.
Review 65:A splendid location. Having breakfast or dinner under your tree on the beach! We stayed in the superior room/suite with a daybed on the veranda and sea view. There are fruit trees to pick from whenever you want. Chickens all over the place and frogs singing lovesongs to each other at night. A little paradise.
Review 66:Simply amazing! One of the best places we have ever stayed. Location is great with the beach being the dining room, room was great, but more than anything all the staff was really going out of their way to make our stay as perfect as possible. Special thanks to Daniela and all of them!
Review 67:Nothing
Review 68:The setting is very good with an abundance of citrus, flowering when I visited, scenting the air. Thought has been given to small things such as raised a platforms with cushions and curtains where one can relax. There is a glass summerhouse where one can have meals and on cool evenings (when I was there) a wood-burning stove is lit.
Review 69:nothing
Review 70:Everything, it was paradise, the most beautiful relaxing environment anyone could wish far. The staff where superb and excellent value for money
Review 71:Delightful, quiet location outside Fethiye but near enough to visit using dolmus or car. Friendly, helpful staff Good sized room Good food Good place for relaxing Good views of sea, islands and mountains
Review 72:Location, friendly staff who cared, peaceful atmosphere, quality of food.
Review 73:great location, great food and friendly staff. Food grown locally!
Review 74:Slow dinner service
Review 75:Large and tranquil hotel grounds away from the city. Large room.
Review 76:Chickens, ducks, dogs and thousands of frogs walking around multiple fruit trees, the swimming pool and the beach. This lodge is the best.
Review 77:Going home
Review 78:Staff are great Surroundings are beautiful Lodge is very comfortable Wildlife unique Wifi excellent Would love to return
