Reviews for Abalonia Inn
Review 1:This was our first time at this location for a couple years, we loved it then and we love it even more now. Great for an adults night away from the kids and very close to all the cool town stuff.
Review 2:The location was perfect. Jimmy and Alyssa were totally lovely. Jimmy made the late arrival process easy. Alyssa was very helpful with planning our activities.
Review 3:Only 1 electrical outlet in bedroom and it did not work. Window ac unit was loud and did not cool the room. Bed was terrible as well as the pillows. Room was not functional with period furniture that took up space.
Review 4:Location was walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants.
Review 5:It was hot for labor day weekend. There was a window unit Unit could use a ceiling fan
Review 6:Liked the location. The innkeeper was very sweet. We thought breakfast was included..little disappointed in that. Our room was fine for sleeping.
Review 7:Bed was too soft and pillows too hard for both of us. Old building with wood floors created much noise from room overhead of ours.
Review 8:Excellent location to walk into town shops and restaurants. Friendly staff were most hospitable.
Review 9:I didn't have a bad experience. Just wished there was an iron/board.
Review 10:Comfy bed/pillows. Loved the location! Close to great restaurants. Will be back :)
Review 11:We had a very small room on the third floor. Though the room was charming, it was really too small, and the three flights of stairs was difficult.
Review 12:Location was central to everything. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Review 13:Housekeeping never made up room during our stay. Dark gloomy room. Unimaginably small bathroom. Major sound intrusions from outside our guest room. Toilet didn't flush properly. Lots of corners being cut - even the muffins in the morning are served already cut in half! Who does this?
Review 14:The location is very close to the center of town. There is plenty of parking available.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:The room was cozy and well appointed. The location was 5 minutes from the beach. The staff could not have been more helpful or more pleasant. Great to start your day with coffee and a blueberry muffin.
Review 17:No bad experience, if I had to fault one thing it would be that the shower was a little bit dark, which can be easily fixed.
Review 18:The location is perfect! Staff are super welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends.
Review 19:The room did not have iron or hair drier. The room was very humid with water condensing on the floor by the bed. Very creaky fllors and doors. Max occupancy is only 2 persons, even in a larger room with king bed.Shower/bathroom area is very tight and needs updating.
Review 20:Beautiful grounds, very friendly staff, warm pool for swimming, good location convenient to restaurants and the beach.
Review 21:The sheets bunched up on the bed and were scratchy. The bed itself was average.
Review 22:Jimmy was a most wonderful host, extremely friendly, upbeat and helpful. The pool was of a perfect temperature, great for a cool summer day.
Review 23:Limited parking
Review 24:Cleanliness, charming, great location, wicked comfortable king size bed. Heated pool and lots of privacy and yet on main street so just s walk to beach, shops & restaurants.
Review 25:The bathroom exhaust fan was loud and when you turned on the bathroom light the exhaust fan came on. Also, showerhead only provided a mist. Of course this may not be the case in every room.
Review 26:Very nice staff, clean room & bath nicely decorated. Great in town location with really nice yard and pool.
Review 27:nothing
Review 28:We loved the location ,staff was great breakfast was good and room was very nice . Good bed and bedding . Very clean and quiet . We would come back .
Review 29:The floors creaked a lot. Our room was on the 1st floor and we heard every footstep of the people staying in the room above us. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay in Ogunquit.
Review 30:We loved the location. It was walking distance to everything - the town, the beach, the cove. The inn was lovely. Nice little porch off our room, fire pit for the chilly evening.
Review 31:Unfortunately, at some point, we had to go back home
Review 32:The minute we set foot in Abalonia Inn we knew we came to the right place. The office staff were SO welcoming, patient, friendly and helpful, we could not stop smiling for a second (Daniel and Jimmy, you are the best!!). We got a comprehensive explanation in reply to any question we asked- what to do, where to eat, whatever we wanted to know. We got into the room and it got even better- an amazing original 19th century room, beautifully furnished and sparkling clean. We could not get any better than this. On the top of it, the location was PERFECT- Right in the middle of town, 2 min walk from the beach and anything else you might need. If you are planning a Maine vacation, you should definitely come to Ogunquit and definitely take a room at the Abalonia Inn!!
Review 33:It had to end.
Review 34:Headline says it all. How can you go wrong with a location practically in the middle of everything...a beautifully redone B & B....great host (jimmy) and one of the most gorgeous weekends of the year.
Review 35:The bed was like a board, you could feel the springs as you laid down and was very uncomfortable. One reason we didn't want to stay another night
Review 36:Loved the location, we bought our supper from the market down the street and sat outside next to the fidelity. That was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Loved the giant mirror in our room!!
Review 37:Shower stall was one of the smallest I've ever been in.
Review 38:I like B&Bs so it was a good stay at a good price. If you like aComfort Inn probably not for you. I didn't speak to anyone thatdidn't have some version of a European accent, including the otherguests. Having just returned from staying in Icelandic guesthouses itwas very comfortable to us.
Review 39:Can't say there was anything that jumped out at me.
Review 40:Traveling alone and looking forward to some downtime in one of my favorite places in the US, time to eat, think & walk The Marginal Way, something I do whenever I'm in Ogunquit--even having done so in Feb. with ice along the way. There less than 24 hours but left refreshed and ready to take care of family business along the way. The staff could not have been friendlier, more welcoming or helpful. Gail, VA
Review 41:I just wish we would have booked a longer trip to enjoy the pool and Inn even longer!
Review 42:This place completely exceeded all expectations I had in mind and it was the perfect getaway place. From the second we arrived the staff were amazing. I had forgotten about there being a pool and it was a great space, perfect temperature and made for a relaxing vacation! The other guess we're pleasant, we even had an unexpected social gathering by the fire put one evening with gay and straight couples also staying at the Inn. It's a great mix of gay and straight and young and old (and no kids!!!)...perfect getaway from DC! My husband and I will certainly be planning a trip back to Ogunquit and to Abalonia Inn.
Review 43:Nothing !!!!
Review 44:We felt like royality on our arrival, we were given a warm welcome while the staff insisted on carring our bags from our car to the room.new clean rooms and comfortable surroundings around salt water pool with tasteful music playing , nice touch in the morning enjoying hot coffee, juice and delicious muffins. Location great !! 4 minuet walk to beach , everything else walkable to eat, shop, etc.
Review 45:Jimmy the Inn keeper was so welcoming and helpful, super friendly. He is what all Inn keepers should be. Also did not expect the free coffee/tea and muffins in the morning and yummy mint lemonade out on the patio in the afternoon. This is our new favorite spot.
Review 46:Room we were given was small, horrible bathroom and bad location overlooking parking lot, street & people walking on porch-despite having requested "best avail. rm." We were paying for a king rm. After complaining, we were taken to the wonderful Rm. 10! I think they should assigned best avail rm at time of booking.
Review 47:Location, friendly innkeeper, grounds & firepit.
Review 48:Some of the guests seemed to be upset that we were there. The Inn is friendly to all guests but some of the guests were not so accommodating. This is a shame as my wife and I will not be staying here again because of it. While no one said anything to us directly, their body language and faces made in our direction said it all.
Review 49:The location was excellent. The staff provided a lot of helpful insights that made our trip very enjoyable. The room was quite comfortable and inviting.
