Reviews for Mariner Resort
Review 1:The stairway-and the road construction.
Review 2:Our room was next to a stairway and we were woken up very often by people taking out their luggage loudly one stair at a time.
Review 3:Came back at night and parking spaces were taken...very dark to see further ahead. Had to back out and find parking way out front. Also, kids overhead making racket on floor morning.
Review 4:Easy location. Typically, I like to be closer to town, but we were only overnight to go to a play.
Review 5:A little too far from beach
Review 6:Indoor pool, hot tub, view, comfortable bed, great shower, complimentary coffee, great breakfast, cleanliness of resort, refrigerator, microwave
Review 7:I go to the low scores too thinking I'll get the honest dope, but the more I look the more I see that there are always people who can't help themselves but find something to complain about, no matter what it is. So I'm using this to tell you that this place really rates a 10 in all categories. Hope you enjoy your stay at The Mariner.
Review 8:Rooms very outdated... Breakfast was sketchy... Coffee gone.. Tiny plates, extremely crowded no seats... Fir off season
Review 9:Close to restaurants/shopping
Review 10:The bed was too firm, but, worst of all was the pillows. One pillow was too low, two too high and they also were too firm. It was like sleeping on rocks. The refrigerator was quite noisy. Will not be booking there again.
Review 11:Sidewalks under construction at time of visit. Made night walking tough.
Review 12:Jacuzzi and pool are great features after long day exploring the town. Walked and took trolley everywhere my kind of vacation. Free breakfast for the whole family.
Review 13:The room and grounds were very clean and spacious. The breakfast had a wonderful variety of foods to satisfy everyone's choices. The staff was very helpful .
Review 14:There was road construction right by the hotel at the time. Also, traffic in Ogunquit is really bad. They need more traffic lights to control the flow.
Review 15:2 pools: one indoor, one outdoor Great view of the ocean Super nice staff Spacious room with a day bed for extra guests.
Review 16:I wasn't sure about the wifi. There was two that kept popping up.
Review 17:We liked everything. Based on only being there for 1 night it was a great stay. The breakfast was good. The housekeepers we ran into in the hall and other areas were very pleasant.
Review 18:Noisy air conditioner and upstairs renters. (Upstairs renters not controlled by Resort :)Next time we'd get upper floor rooms. Busy Labor Day weekend, they ran out of doughnuts.
Review 19:Clean, comfortable room; very comfy beds.
Review 20:Poor internet connection. Wi-Fi should be expanded
Review 21:The cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. It accommodated all of my needs. The staff was extremely helpful.
Review 22:The rooms were cozy and very clean. The grounds with their view of the marsh and distant ocean were stunning. Breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff. Location to the beach was great.
Review 23:My accommodations were very comfortable & the staff was helpful and friendly. My room provided everything I needed: plenty of towels, a refrigerator, a working iron, and an extremely comfortable bed.
Review 24:Breakfast was just OK. Store bought danishes were OK but I would suggest keeping door closed so customers can't see what you are doing in "kitchen" area. One thing that stood out is that the room we stayed in had two queen size beds but when making reservations, can only have two in room. So essentially, a family of 4 would have to book to rooms. Not cool with that.
Review 25:Friendly front desk personnel. Easy check-in process. Close to shops. Liked trolley to get to shops and beach area. It was across street. Nice view of water. Beds were good and room was very clean. Nice to have microwave in room. Decor was nice but nothing spectacular. Pool was clean. Price of room was average to others in the area.
Review 26:They need to upgrade their WiFi. Didn't work well most of the day. Could use more hooks in the bathroom (I.e. back of door)
Review 27:Location, pool and hot tub, breakfast
Review 28:The room was very dark and a bit dated. Could do with a little updating. Also, I was disappointed that the breakfast dishes and cutlery were plastic/polystyrene creating huge amounts of waste. And I could see no attempt at recycling these materials.
Review 29:Location and view were good. Pools were nice
Review 30:Coffee shuts down precisely when they say and it's not available in the room (I'm an addict. I'm use to staying in higher end places forwork so this may just be me. Breakfast was nice but they should offer a protein source other than yogurt like boiled eggs. I dislike shampoo/soap dispensers in showers, they had this instead of complimentary bottles.
Review 31:Friendly staff, didn't hesitate to get us checked in early..gave us good beach directions.grounds are beautiful. Ample amount of towels in room.rooms are a very good size.
Review 32:Great staff, excellent location, delightful pool, quiet room. Choice of breakfast items excellent for a continental breakfast. This is our third year in coming to the Mariner. We will be back next year.
Review 33:OG seems way overpriced for a couple nites stay in July would come back off season.
Review 34:Mariner is a nice family type property. Nice yard with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the marsh views, clean refreshing pool, great continental breakfast and coffee. Used the Trolley everyday very convenient! Very friendly staff!
Review 35:Stayed 1 night on our way north. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. View from second floor very nice and room was large. We would stay here again.
Review 36:Very noisy on first floor. Difficulty climbing high steps. Chairs on porch, but very narrow when others walk past.
Review 37:Beautiful views of the salt marshes. Excellent continental breakfast. Very clean.
Review 38:My sister and I stayed for 4 nites. It was a great time had by both.Room very clean, great breakfast, pool's were great. Hot tub was awesome. Can't wait to go back.
Review 39:We have no complaints but we recommend that the a.c. unit should get checked out on room 118 it was not working properly. This is more of an observation and not a complaint.
Review 40:We enjoyed all of it's amenities but the view of the salt pond marsh was our favorite. The room was clean which is very important to us. Ps it is not close to town but it's walkable or you can take the trolley.
Review 41:It was noisy and we were disappointed in the breakfast. The bagels were very dry and there was no coffee when we got there. I went to front desk to ask that they replenish it. They did that but then there was no cream put out. That to was empty. Paying attention to detail means a lot when providing a services.
Review 42:The room was clean
Review 43:Room was dated - still had a tube tv - bathroom was really nice but felt like 1980"s
Review 44:Hotel room was as clean as you can get, everything was spotless.
Review 45:I could hear people walking in the room above me but it really wasn't a problem
Review 46:The mariner was convenient, a quiet place to stay and Ogunquit is a quaint little town. Nice little Italian place across the street to walk for a pizza. Just wish I had more time,
Review 47:The breakfast is a bit limited
Review 48:The value of this lodge is above all to be just a few minutes from the center of Ogunquit. The rooms are comfortable and clean and with the need to prepare breakfast and small meals.
Review 49:It was a bit noisy. We could here the people staying in the room above ours and it definitely affected our sleep.
Review 50:The staff was awesome! I only stayed one night, but they were incredibly knowledgable and helpful upon check in and check out.
Review 51:Parking in Ogunquit is very expensive and it is a little far to leave ones car and walk into town especially coming home after dark.
Review 52:Beautiful beach close by!
Review 53:we only spent one night and really couldn't say anything negative
Review 54:we had driven way too long after dark and could not find affordable rooms. our GPS had died and we were exhausted. The young man at the front desk greeted us so kindly.
Review 55:They had plenty of vacant rooms and put us next to the staircase for the entire building! Was kept up all nite. When i complained they said some people dont mind that location?
Review 56:One day was rainy the indoor pool was a plus
Review 57:View, bed was so hard we hardly slept, musty smell, too much $ for this room, no cable. We didn't put the sign out for room to be cleaned because we didn't need it cleaned but they came in anyway.
Review 58:People at front desk.
Review 59:Noise from refridgerator was loud. It kept waking me up. Bed could have been more firm.
Review 60:Price Cleanliness of the room and facilities Friendliness of staff
Review 61:Great place to stay. Excellent quality for your money. Has everything you want without paying triple the price elsewhere. Quiet. Indoor and outdoor pool. Nice view over the golden grass marshes. downtown Ogunquit is a little over a mile away. Can't beat it.
Review 62:We were very impressed with the variety of food for breakfast in the AM. Not your typical cold cereal and toasted bagels. Fresh fruit was delicious and pastries were moist and fresh! Very impressive with the staff's attention to ensure all guests received a great breakfast in the AM.
Review 63:With the abundance of local lobsters, one would expect the prices in ME to be cheap. They weren't, and you really have to search out non-touristy places to find reasonably priced seafood.
Review 64:Easy walk to Footbridge Beach and local restaurants and taverns, or take the trolley. The staff and guests were all very friendly and welcoming. Nice continental breakfast with an array of fresh fruits and breads.
Review 65:The room was a little dark, needing the lights on during the day. Although room had a large fridge and a microwave there were no facilities for making a hot drink in the room. Complimentary hot drinks were available in the lobby but we would have appreciated a coffee maker in the room. The fridge was rather noisy overnight as were people walking overhead.
Review 66:We were lucky enough to be here on a record breaking weekend, warmest September on record with wall to wall sunshine. Ogunquit is lovely, make sure you don't miss Perkins Cove. The trolley bus here and to the beach stopped outside the hotel. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom which had lots of good hot water (soft water too, lots of lather from the soap!) There was ample parking. The take away continental breakfast offered was varied and well presented.
Review 67:would have preferred a location within walking to the center of Ogunquit and the entrance to Marginal Way
Review 68:Pleasant well-maintained motel/resort for a last minute fall get-away. The included continental breakfast was well presented and replenished very quickly.
Review 69:NOTHING!
Review 70:We were there for our 20th anniversary and when we got there, a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers with a card was on our table.. What a great personal touch.. Will definitely recommend our friends to stay there and will be back again
Review 71:Nothing comes to mind!!
Review 72:comfortable beds, deck outside the room, view, sitting and eating area outside the breakfast area, room cleanliness and service. Plenty of good fruit for the continental breakfast.
Review 73:nothing
Review 74:Very clean and well kept, helpful and polite staff, Orleans trolly p/u at front of property. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hot tub and pools in great repair. Property beautifully landscaped, a pleasure to stay here!
Review 75:The Wi-Fi was very poor, could not get on many of the times I tried. The kids in the pool were screaming at 9:30 am Sunday morning. We were awake but it was very noisy. There were children in the hot tub when they should not have been. The breakfast was okay, not what we expected. Overall is was a fair location but we are used to the Anchorage. Thank you.
Review 76:The view was nice and the facility was maintained well buy personnel.
Review 77:Very noisy upstair neighbors and accross from us were very noisy all night long. Kept us up all night long.
Review 78:The room's cleaniness, pools and sauna. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities and room was very clean. Loved the location of our room, the pool area. The view was very nice.
Review 80:Ogunquit has been ruined by commercial exploitation. 51 years ago Ogunquit was lovely. Now it is a tourist trap with its formerly pristine environment spoiled by ugly housing all along the coast, and strip malls, etc. , along Rte 1. My advice to travelers: avoid Ogunquit!
Review 81:Motel is fine
Review 82:They forgot to clean our room one day and left no towels so when we gothome from the beach couldn't shower. Staff not helpful and somepretty indifferent...didn't make any effort to help with areaactivities or make any suggestions. When they ran out of things atbreakfast (when breakfast wasn't supposed to be over...just saidthey had no more...if they say they have breakfast they should haveenough to last ie OJ...it isn't fresh squeezed!
Review 83:Pools and hot tub
Review 84:Not walking distance to town but very close with car (though can hit a lot of traffic heading into town after mid-morning in summer). Air conditioning didn't work great.
Review 85:Was able to book last minute. Pool is nice, room was huge, nice to have a fridge, room was spotless, hotel very accommodating as they let us have a very late checkout.
Review 86:If you got to breakfast on the later side the food was picked over and we had to ask for the coffee to be filled. There was a funny smell inn the room. Almost musty like. The Iair conditioner was in a poor location so the room never really got cool.
Review 87:The location was ok but I thought it was closer to town. Trolley stop right out front.
Review 88:The resorts in Ogunquit Beach are a bit pricey.
Review 89:They had a continental breakfast. My husband and son loved the jacuzzi. Thank you for a wonderful vacaion.
Review 90:It was as nice as the first time - a plus for the breakfasts, toasted bread available, next year, peanut butter with the toasts? but we will bring it anyway. Thanks, people at the Mariner are very nice, we will return. Christianne Favreau
Review 91:The resort is badly in need of modernization. The rooms are dated. Looks like 80's decor.
Review 92:Friendly staff Free breakfast Beautiful landscaping and views The room was very clean Housekeeping was excellent
Review 93:The Wi-fi is slow and spotty. While the shower pressure is exceptionally good, the shower curtain does not effectively prevent water from getting all over the bathroom floor.
Review 94:We loved the pool and hot tub which were open until 9:30pm. Our son, 11, met other kids there. The guests of the hotel were very friendly. A full size refrigerator in the room was great for packing cold drinks and fruit to take to the beach.
Review 95:The wi-fi was very weak. We had been counting on it for down time and so we could do some work while away. The location is difficult. Though it's only a few minutes walk to footbridge beach, it's hard to lug your stuff there down busy route 1. Don't count on the trolley to get you anywhere. A stop is right across the street, but I waited 45 minutes the first time, and then never rode it again.
Review 96:Very friendly and helpful staff, the pools and sauna, view off the balcony. Nice room, fridge and microwave. We would stay there again especially now that we've learned the ins and outs of getting around Ogunquit. We had a great time, it's very family friendly.
Review 97:A little farther from beach and town than we expected. Trolley sometimes too crowded to stop so had to wait for another to get into town or walk a hot 1 1/2 miles. Didn't get our 2 rooms together even tho we booked in February for July.
Review 98:View from back very relaxing rooms comfortable and roomy.
Review 99:Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, comfortable and clean rooms, the breakfast and breakfast area were outstanding. Will definitely return to this motel when in oqunquit.
Review 100:Mattresses were not that comfortable and room was a bit dated, but again, very clean. We would return
Review 101:Friendly, accommodating staff, Clean, nice view, pools & whirlpool were great!
Review 102:Poor location - too far from center of Ogunquit village. Motel is old and shows it. Room was very oddly furnished...small TV in weird location, lots of wasted space, small bed. Bathroom towels were very small and cheap. Too many families with young children at this motel for my taste. There was a family staying above us and we could hear them stomping around and seemingly moving furniture (???) early in the morning. Breakfast is free, but nothing to write home about.
Review 103:Nice outdoor pool. Our room had a nice private balcony.
Review 104:Good location, reasonable price, hot tub and indoor pool
Review 105:No coffee in the room. The fitness room is to small with no elliptical.
Review 106:The nearness to town, the refrigerator , the hot tub.
Review 107:Breakfast
Review 108:Carpet
Review 109:Basic, outdated but very clean, and great size fridge. Good bed and pillows.
Review 110:Room should be furnished with 2 luggage stand since we had 2 suitcases.
Review 111:Room is very clean with full size fridge
Review 112:Most uncomfortable pillows ever. Soar, stiff neck for two days after our stay
Review 113:Beds were not very comfortable. Can hear people outside of the room.
Review 114:Clean and spacious rooms, staff was very kind and helpful.
Review 115:Staff refused to change price reserved at to price quoted at check in
Review 116:Dishonest establishment
Review 117:Cannot think of anything I did not like.
Review 118:Personal feel.
Review 119:Nothing that we didn't like.
Review 120:Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 121:Very clean, LARGE refrigerator, beautiful view, and plenty of towels !
Review 122:Great places to eat and shop that were nearby.
Review 123:Hot tub!
Review 124:Everything.... My sister ans i really enjoy our stay at Mariners
Review 125:hot tub was very clean nice & hot!
Review 126:Comfort. Clean refrigerator. Microwave. Location
Review 127:Staff was friendly and accomadating. The view was fantastic from the room, and the rooms were kept very clean. Highly enjoyed our honeymoon here.
