Reviews for Silverbow Inn
Review 1:Very small rooms, and the cleaning was a little weirdly inconsistent. Beds were made every day, but our dirty coffee cups were left on the desk for three or four days.
Review 2:Great location, loved the snack bar and the beds were comfy, bathrooms clean. Free breakfast is a great perk, lox were great, bagels not so much.
Review 3:The room was very noisy. We needed to keep the window open because it was hot, but we were at the front of the hotel on the street and we were disturbed most of the night by people, trucks and other traffic.
Review 4:Hotel was central, breakfast was good.
Review 5:There is nothing to not like!
Review 6:Silver Bow was all around charming. More high-end hostel feeling that hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, evening wine tasting, amazing breakfast. Perfect location in Juneau. We had a room labeled a suite, that I would call a good family room, hardly a suite though.
Review 7:Staff badly trained - all sorts of oddness and mistakes. However, that's nothing compared with the staff in the attached bagel shop, who were truly appalling - stunningly incompetent, and they really didn't care that they were.
Review 8:Price was fairly expensive, but all of Juneau is kind of pricey. Older hotel, but very nicely remodeled, nice modern touches. No elevator, so pack light if possible.
Review 9:Location, and wonderful breakfast at the bakery. Room was small, but had all we needed. Very clean, nice bathroom. No a/c, but not needed when we were there. Our room overlooked the street & courtyard/parking lot of bakery. Right in the heart of shopping and restaurants, we did not need a car. Cabbed it from airport and to the ferry terminal.
Review 10:Our room's window looked out on hot tub area, so not much privacy unless shades were drawn. Room was small.
Review 11:Great staff, helpful and friendly. Fantastic location, good breakfast, snacks, wine bar. Nice bathtub in room with bath salts.
Review 12:Some employees didn't seem well qualified, but I don't blame the hotel for that as I suspect it is hard to find good help in Juneau.
Review 13:The owner is very considerate and goes out of his way to make the hotel experience friendly and personal, with snacks and a complimentary glass of wine available.
Review 14:The rooms are quite small. Our window faced onto the deck where the hot tub was, and could have made for a noisy experience for us if more people had been using the hot tub.
Review 15:The location was great and the staff was friendly. They went to the effort of preparing us a breakfast to go when we needed to leave in the morning before their kitchen opened.
Review 16:Noisy downtown on Saturday night. King bed in room 303 needs replacing
Review 17:Central location, hotel has a nice atmosphere, relaxing place and nice additional toiletries in rooms.
Review 18:The place was small, no elevator, the staff was sweet young people who were inefficient and seemed overhelmed. The rooms were tiny, with the bare minimum. We reserved a queen bedroom with city view, it was not so, the window was towards an old delapidated building and below there was a restaurant and all night we can hear the airconditioning and the smells of frying pans. Closing the window made the room unbearably hot. When we checked in, they told us the cleaning woman had an emergency with her child and we had to wait after 5 to get the room ready. The following day, we came back at 4:30 from a long cruise, the rooms were not made, again the told us the cleaning crew had not arrived yet. Their breakfast was not open until 7 when needed to leave the premises before that time.
Review 19:The location. Their breakfast came from their adjacent coffee place which had good food. But you have to stand on line to order you food, and staff was overwhelemed
Review 20:Would have liked to have had more of a staff presence.
Review 21:We loved that the property was right downtown and included a wine bar, bagel shop, and cafe/cinema.
Review 22:There should be a shelf or something In the bathroom near or under the sink to set shaving kits/make-up bags on.
Review 23:The bathroom and amenities were a surprise -- very modern yet eclectic. Nice robes.
Review 24:The only issue was the late night bar folks were pretty loud outside.
Review 25:SilverBow has the perfect blend of quirk and comfort. Complimentary breakfast (fantastic bagels!) and wine were great. They even took the time to prepare me a breakfast to go when I had a 5am departure.
Review 26:No real negatives. Only no elevator but it's a historic building.
Review 27:Access to a guest cupboard with coffee, teas, chocolate etc 24 hours a day with a sitting area to sit and relax. The bakery was awesome.
Review 28:We went to the restaurant attached to the Inn and it was very dirty. Everything but this was a good experience.
Review 29:We liked the room and amenities including the lobby.
Review 30:Only compliant, and its a small one-was the tv was small and the remote made viewing tv so slow. It's not the place to want to stay in and watch tv.
Review 31:I loved that Silverbow was conveniently close to downtown Juneau. The staff was friendly and helpful. I love that you get a delicious breakfast of your choice and wine vouches upon staying. It was nice to have snacks available as well. Loved the stocked bathroom with toiletries and even bath salt. Super cozy bed and pillows!
Review 32:I say that I would recommend it, but I would make sure they understand that It was REALLY noisy. We must have been close to some bars, because people were yelling late into the night. The early morning was not much better with people coming and going to open the cafe, clattering around and talking loudly. One morning the garbage was picked up as well. This is the one thing thing that would keep me away next time.
Review 33:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar was pretty good. The bagels and bread were really delicious! Coffee and a great variety of tea is available all day. The location is great. Although we had a car, it is within walking distance of the tram, restaurants, etc.
Review 34:Breakfast very haphazard and inconsistant. View from rooms is awful...cinderblock wall or a parking lot. Light and blind not working in room. However not a many options to choose from in Juneau in Summer unless you book really early so can't be too critical
Review 35:Thoughtful touches like water bottles for hiking in room.
Review 36:Breakfast a bit of a disappointment limited selection and ran out towards the end. Served in a confined space and hard to find food and utinsils.
Review 37:Location and staff
Review 38:The rooms can be a bit small considering the price of the hotel, but this appears to be the case in most hotels in Alaska. And with everything going on, you will not want to spend time in the hotel room anyway.
Review 39:Great staff and friendly, open vibe to the hotel. We really liked the lounge downstairs where there was always something good to eat and someone interesting to talk to. We will definitely return to the Silverbow on our next trip.
Review 40:the rooms are a bit tired and quite small
Review 41:great staff, very friendly; lovely breakfast with bagels, coffee, oats and sometimes a warm option; great location; loved the hot tub on the roof and excellent wi fi
Review 42:Wifi is pretty slow and our room was not very big.
Review 43:Almost everything about this hotel is amazing! The staff is very friendly, breakfast is tasty and there are so many little details (radio in the shower and a floating duck toy, hot tub, a book in the room) that makes you feel really welcome and cheers you up.
Review 44:Quirky downtown inn with great service, excellent food/breakfast amenities and nice rooms. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 45:Very limited parking space.
Review 46:Location, very close to downtown.
Review 47:Room was small and had view of the street
Review 48:Great location, good breakfast.
Review 49:At more than 200 USD a night and no lift some help with luggage would have been appreciated
Review 50:Location
Review 51:Great free breakfast (any menu item at the attached bagel shop) a little tea/coffee snack area for guests, and a rooftop hot tub. Nuff said.
Review 52:El desayuno me pareció regular.
Review 53:La atención es buena. Esta cerca de todo.
Review 54:No elevator!!! Lugging luggage up two stories can be difficult
Review 55:Pleasant rooms, good location, great cafe on the spot
Review 56:Holy cow the breakfast was divine. And included with my stay.
Review 57:Staff,Hot tub, food and wine bar.
Review 58:Parking
Review 59:the staff were so friendly but the parking was hard to find
Review 60:Nothing
Review 61:Very central to shops, sights, restaurants. Comfortable and helpful staff.
Review 62:We had the room at the front of the Inn which had a lot of street noise.
Review 63:Great location and staff very helpful and friendly. Very quirky and homely.
Review 64:Street noise Pricey
Review 65:In downtown Juneau Free breakfast at the bakery Free house wine at the wine bar Big fluffy towels Friendly, helpful staff
Review 66:The night girl was not as helpful and was not easy to find.
Review 67:The girl on days was friendly and helpful
Review 68:No Fire Exit, No Phone in Room, safety hazard plastic on steps going down stairs, no communication about restaurants
Review 69:The place is spotless! We loved the relaxing setting for breakfast in the lobby. The Silverbow is ideally located in Juneau. The staff were so helpful and kind. I would definitely return here again!!
Review 70:Not a hotel for a business focused traveler. Hard bed, no fridge, mini ironing board, loud people coming in at 1 am, walls were thin.
Review 71:Breakfast, good for the downtown party focused vacationer, fun staff and area.
Review 72:The staff forgot to get the TV remote fixed and to leave a packed breakfast out after suggesting it to me. It can be noisy if the other guests are, as the sound insulation is minimal.
Review 73:Very centrally located. Nice Cafe downstairs and the staff were friendly. A bit pricey but maybe that's just Juneau.
Review 74:Can't think of any reason not to stay here.....unless you need an elevator. They don't have one.
Review 75:Loved the free breakfast! The food is excellent with lots of choices! Perfect location for downtown Juneau. Clean comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. My favorite place to stay while in Juneau!
Review 76:The restaurant never got my order right. I'd order one thing and get another. And although mostly friendly there were restaurant staff who were a bit rude. I thought the accommodations were over priced.
Review 77:the bed was very comfortable, and the hotel staff were friendly and attentive.
Review 78:In the winter it can get windy in Juneau and the corner rooms do have a thermostat - but they did provide a portable heater and the bed was wonderful and I was cozy warm.
Review 79:The Silver Bow is a quaint boutique hotel with the old world history and flavor - I love staying here - the bakery next door is wonderful, the hotel is quiet and cozy!
Review 80:A wonderful stay and well worth the $! Great location (downtown with a great bakery attached), staff attentiveness and very comfortable, clean room. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Juneau. (And I've stayed at a few places in Juneau .) The hot tub on the roof is great !
Review 81:Pillows could have been a bit more soft but it was a very minor issue. The directions to hiking trails was hard to understand in the big notebook.
Review 82:The room was very clean and also nicely decorated. The bathroom was very nice size with a great bathtub. I loved having the balth salts. The food was great, and the breakfast that came with the room was excellent. The recomendations for food outside the Silverbow were spot on. Location was great. Staff were very nice and helpful. The photos in the dining area were great-they made me want to see more of Alaska.
Review 83:The windows are old and are single pane allowing noise from the streetto come in quite clearly. Its not on a busy street and the bars are ablock away so that's not bad but every other night we had thepleasure of listening to a very loud and very slow street sweeper forwhat seemed like hours.
Review 84:A perfect hotel for Juneau! My wife and I were a little nervous when webooked it as the description and the pictures of the hotel didn'tquite fit with the price. Upon arrival we found it to be exactly what wewere looking for! The Silverbow is not in any way fancy, modern, or inmost peoples definition, boutique, but it was exactly what we wanted. Itis an old building and has all the charm and class that turn of thecentury buildings have. Loved the room and the quirkiness of thesetting. Great beds and bathroom. The private hot tub was great with afantastic view of the harbor. The location was top notch but what reallysets the Silverbow apart was the staff. (And the fact that it shares thebuilding with a bakery/coffee shop and you get free bagels! Oh andthe wine tastings, cant forget those..) All of them were awesome andhelpful and made us feel at home. Kelly was especially great. I wouldrecommend this hotel to anyone looking for something beyond a longhallway with a ton of doors on both sides and a continental breakfast. Iwould say though that it is best experienced in a multi-night stay. Idon't think we would have gotten nearly the enjoyment if we had onlybeen there one or two nights. Thanks Silverbow! Kcco!
Review 85:This is the most friendly, most accommodating staff I have experienced in some time. They are both helpful yet give you the privacy you need. This is NOT a big box hotel. The rooms are smaller but with character. Breakfast was wonderful, as was the afternoon wine tasting.
Review 86:My room window was right below the hot tub. Not a problem--just closed the shade and snuggled up.
Review 87:What a cute hotel located next to a bakery restaurant. Comfy rooms, robes provided and genuinely friendly staff. Right in downtown Juneau so you can walk and enjoy the shops.
Review 88:The wifi service was very poor and the staff tried touse the Juneau location excuse. However, bars and restaurants next door had 100% efficient wifi services! I explained that wifi was one of the reasons I chose this hotel and made a complaint to the hotel in writing but I have heard nothing in reply. The hotel is way overpriced.
Review 89:I liked the fact that it felt like staying at someone's flat with little kick-knacks in the room like a shower radio. I liked that the staff were young and enthusiastic and that the bakery products provided were fresh and filling.
Review 90:Got a front room even though I asked for a quiet one. Hardly slept firstnight but street sweeper doesn't operate every night (0400 hours),twas better 2nd night.
Review 91:Smack in the middle of town. Friendly knowledgeable host. Easy goingrelaxed place, reasonable breakfast, can be noisy in the front rooms. Can organise laundry. Good middle eastern restaurant, Zephyr, next door.
Review 92:Our room was right next to the hot tub, so it was noisy at night if some one was in the hot tub and the shades on the window didn't go completely down to the bottom so the people outside could see inside our room if they were looking in.
Review 93:The staff was great, especially Kelly and Jenna. They were all very helpful with everything. The breakfasts were great. The happy hour for guests is a great touch.
Review 94:Very small room for the price. Room typical of period when the hotel was built. Price typical of Alaska. (Still probably the best deal in town.)
Review 95:Funky, downtown place with relaxed, super-friendly staff. Loved the convivial evening wine-tastings around a big, somewhat beat-up wooden table. Refrigerator, coffee, tea, etc. always available downstairs. Real home-like feeling.
Review 96:our only issue was the noise from the street below. maybe a more interior room would not be so bad - construction outside started very early. not really their fault I presume. I tried to use the rooftop hot tub - and bummer! It has just been refilled and was closed... rats.
Review 97:Exceptional service & staff... great location for walking, eating, etc.... very unique spot and loved the design. great food at bagel & coffee shop attached.
Review 98:Location, it was very noisy but I suppose this cant be helped as the bakery opens early plus it was a busy street.
Review 99:The room was small but nice, comfy pillows. The breakfast and all day snacks were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 100:To say that I had a mountain view is misleading. It's a partial view blocked by buildings. They should not charge more for this room. The room is small. I had to put a lot of my things on the floor. The drawers beneath the bed are not very handy.
Review 101:The location is excellent. I enjoyed the free breakfast and coffee and tea that was available and free.
Review 102:No elevator. Restaurant opens at 6:30. Would love if it opened at 6:00 in the summer since the sun comes up so early then.
Review 103:Staff was great! Very friendly and helpful! Bed was comfortable. Free breakfast was really, really good with wide range of choices. Love the variety of tasty bagels!! Wonderful location to walk downtown Juneau.
Review 104:Price was too high, my wife said she would only stay there again if there was a winter rate decrease
Review 105:great place, good mix of old time Alaska and contemperary colors, fabrics, and food. The proximity of the excellant bakery was a real plus
Review 106:Parking was a limited. Having the Parkade across the street was good as long as it is a weekend.
Review 107:The Silverbow is a very quaint inn. Great coffee at the bakery. We did not get a chance to try the baked goods but it smelt heavenly. The staff were friendly and very helpful Right in the middle of downtown which was easy access to all the sites and shops.
Review 108:The hallway floor squeaks but fortunately most of the guest get to bed at a reasonable hour.
Review 109:Love the hospitality of the staff and the ease of getting breakfast before we head ed to the airport for an early flight. The location to downtown eateries and our client makes it ideal.
Review 110:Excellent staff. Extremely hardworking.
Review 111:end of long day, would like elevator
Review 112:location
Review 113:breakfast items not ready early
Review 114:Comfortable place with helpful staff

Review 119:The staff was awesome- so friendly, super helpful welcoming! Would love to stay there again.
Review 120:Restaurant could be more that soup and sandwich which were good.
Review 121:I liked the hotel and staff very much, I would stay again.
Review 122:Great breakfast, close to the meeting I attended, cheery staff, comfortable bed.
Review 123:Can be a bit loud
Review 124:Small Comfortable Having the bakery there is a plus
Review 125:Excellent staff; excellent location, comfortable and not too expensive; great bakery
Review 126:The room, the lobby/dining room, the food, the staff (not in that order - all were great).
Review 127:Stairs
Review 128:Noisy at night
Review 129:Comfortable and cute, hot tub on the roof was unique feature.
Review 130:I can't fault it
Review 131:Rooms were chic and comfortable but with an old historic feel inhouse bakery awesome - lots of food included in roomprice
