Reviews for NYLO Providence Warwick

Review 1:Unfortunately there was nothing positive I could say in regards to my experience at NYLO. Along with being less than clean, I found it overpriced for staying in a room that rivaled my garage! This is definitely a spot for a younger crowd (early 20's age group). If your looking for customer service and sophistication look elsewhere.

Review 2:heating in the room didnt work for our whole stay . we complained everyday but they didnt respond or did anything . tv remote did not work properly , rooms were dirty , never been cleaning

Review 3:rooms are big enough

Review 4:My reception was a bit cool, particularly given that the wifi wasn't working and I had booked the hotel for a 1 night business trip. No compensation offered (even though asked.) The front doors aren't sliding doors so it's awkward with luggage. The clothing rack was very high (I suppose so it doesn't dip into the coffee maker). The elevator buttons were close to being broken.

Review 5:Most of the staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The atmosphere was stylish and mostly functional. Very spacious shower and comfortable bed. The autumn view on the river side is spectacular, and even the city side was nice. The restaurant and morning reception service was extremely helpful.

Review 6:Web site is incorrect, and they did nothing to remedy the problem. I booked a room that was described as 530 ft sq, ideal for families, "top choice among families". What I received was a 390 ft Sq room with one bed and no roll away possible. My daughter had to sleep on a small couch and foot extension. Staff at front desk told me they had no such room when I showed them the web site.

Review 7:Darrell at front desk courteous.

Review 8:The front desk people were very rude. Noemi at the front desk was horrible. I was not given any information about check out.

Review 9:The hotel has a very cool artsy vibe to it. The staff that ran the shuttle were fantastic and very helpful.

Review 10:the A/C was making a knocking sound, but I did mention it upon check-out and the front desk was willing to look into the repair for the future guests

Review 11:loved the look and décor of the place. reminds me of a boutique hotel in NYC

Review 12:The food at the restaurant was overpriced and underwhelming! I wish we knew this as we would have eaten at the food court/restaurants right across the street.

Review 13:The bed, staff and hotel in general

Review 14:Breakfast not included. A wedding the night we stayed closed the bar. We were unable to enjoy the riverfront location or charming bar atmosphere.

Review 15:Interesting style, clean room, unique setting.

Review 16:The room was very dark and uninviting. The shower was overflowed onto the floor. I used all the towels to clean up the water. I won't stay at this hotel again.

Review 17:The bed

Review 18:The view was phenomenal from our fifth floor river view king loft. Everything was squeaky clean and well decorated. The staff was super nice and helpful.

Review 19:A truly unbelievable hotel...I absolutely gasped with delight when I opened the door to the room. Our room was on the 4th floor with a wonderful view of the river and patio below. I soon found out the hotel is a renovated part of the Pontiac Textile Mills, what a wonderful way to preserve a huge part of Rhode Island history. We spent two evenings enjoying the food and drink on the patio. The staff was very attentive and friendly. If you are looking for a different hotel experience this is most definitely the hotel for you!

Review 20:Microwave and small fridge would be nice and could fit.

Review 21:Great location. Easy access to everything. Just the right set up especially if you don't plan to hang out in the room all day. Bartender was awesome. Cool patio area.

Review 22:Unfortunately given the small area, if someone was in the bathroom, there was no way to avoid light shining on those who were sleeping; headphones would be great to include for one to watch television while the other person is sleeping. Include more regular coffee. There was only one the others were decaffeinated or tea

Review 23:Although small it was well laid out. The location right on the river was very nice. Even though in the heart of things and very near the airport it seemed secluded. Enjoyed sitting on the deck eating breakfast

Review 24:The food for the lunch menu was not impressive. I had a simple salad with tuna, and my boyfriend had a chicken sandwich with fries. The salad dressing was not good & the salad did not taste fresh at all, my boyfriends sandwich was good but the fries were hard & dry. For how much I paid for the food I was not impressed at all.

Review 25:The bed was a dream to sleep on. The whole hotel/hotel room was great, I will definitely be returning again.

Review 26:Our original room was placed right next to the highway on the first floor even though I had called ahead and specifically asked for a room a higher level with a river view months prior. Also, all outlets on one side of the room were not working. The lighting in the rooms was very limited. The scary abandoned warehouse next door was a slight preview of what our hotel looked like before it was made into a hotel... the concrete walls in the NYLO were very gross as well.

Review 27:The decor in the lobby/bar area was really unique and ecletic.

Review 28:A beautiful hotel on a river but facing the Warwick mall. For the cost of the rooms I would expect this hotel to be closer to the water and not in the middle of a corporate retail district..

Review 29:Your hostess Jamie was probably the sweetest person I have ever encountered in a hospitality setting. She made our morning breakfast experience memorable!

Review 30:Booking.com or nylo lied about the listed rate. Price was listed at 150 something but when it came to the purchase page the price jumped 50 bucks. Took it anyways but dissapointed by the fraud.

Review 31:Room was beautiful and hotel was idyllic.

Review 32:Free breakfast at most chains compared to expensive fancy breakfast available here. River view was neat but since it's behind the bed and hard to get to it wasn't really beneficial.

Review 33:The overall atmosphere was very neat. The bed was amazing.

Review 34:I put do no disturb on the door and they still came into my room.....while I was getting dressed. When I called to confirm my Room they dodnt have my reservation on file, it took them an hour to call Booking.com and figure out how to find me a room.

Review 35:Room was nice

Review 36:general - concrete exposed - did get a sense of warmth somehow

Review 37:New modern deco but a little too retro for me. Younger individuals or copules may fund it better suited.

Review 38:Bedsheets were dirty upon arrival, pricey for location

Review 39:Friendly staff, comfortable bed, staff were quick to remediate bed sheet problem, free parking, free wi-fi

Review 40:There were no closets and/or drawer space for clothes. We also think they need to replace the toothbrush caddy in the bathroom -- ours looked old, dirty & had soap stains on it.

Review 41:We loved the look of the room & bathroom.

Review 42:the pillows are tiny - like sofa pads; very nosy room because of air conditioner and showering from other rooms; We both lost sleep until early morning...

Review 43:posh room and seems clean

Review 44:The breakfast was not free and it was completely terrible. Not really around anything BUT not fair driving distance. The bathroom wasn't enclosed, so you heard everything.

Review 45:The room was cool. The outside patio was lovely. The decor was fun.

Review 46:The bed at NYLO/Providence is spacious and very cozy. I always love the shower head--perfect! And, as much as it feels far off the beaten path, the location is ideal for travel…Plus, there's shopping/movies across the street!

Review 47:Not too much. The designer was very creative. Different Frm hotelsI've stayed. Hotel very clean. Cucumber water in lobby delicious. But location looks trashy. Lobby is small. You have to walk throughrestaurant to bar through bar to sitting area. The river view is a dirtyriver and a vacant warehouse. The room walls are brick & concretehidden with drapes. Very cold!! &Quot;Highlight. There's a mallacross the street. And please google the restaurant "SMOKEYBONES" I give it 5 stars!!! I won't be back. Thanks to thenasty attitude Frm manager/supervisor name(NAOMI)

Review 48:My room was not as clean as it should've been the shower curtain was a orange color at the bottom like it had sat there and the room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking hotel very in appealing I am not a smoker so that was a huge turn off

Review 49:The unusually high beds were inaccessible to my elderly mother. She had to sleep in the upholstered chair in the room. Staff tried hard to make the room usable for her, but could not. A room designated as "accessible" should have more reasonable accommodations. Small things: no bright lights in the room, only one regular coffee pod provided, no pen or stationery at desk.

Review 50:The rooms were comfortable and clean. I liked the style: concrete walls and floor, supplied with comfortable modern furniture and facilities. Excellent restaurant in attractive riverside setting. Easy access to Providence. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 51:Front desk seemed a bit inexperienced and overwhelmed. The bathroom walls were exposed from the top. Fine when you're with family, I guess, but not a great feature.

Review 52:Comfortable beds, unique decor. Good lighting and free wifi. Loved the old factory building along the river. Restaurant was very cool, good breakfast, and very polite staff.

Review 53:Can't think of one thing we didn't like.

Review 54:Very accommodating staff, unique decor, very comfortable rooms. Can't say enough about the restaurant and front desk staff going above and beyond to meet our needs. The chef actually came to work an hour early just to make our group breakfast! Seriously.

Review 55:Again I wanted to prepay for my stay with cash.

Review 56:Cash transactions. I feel like I shouldn't have to provide a credit card if I want to prepay with cash. Almost didn't stay there as a result

Review 57:we ordered lunch at the restaurant but the waitress went missing and our food was sitting out a while before we got it - cold fries and toasted sandwich ...not the best

Review 58:décor, staff, room

Review 59:Need a bit better lighting in the rooms. And , a bit more carpeting would have been better given the concrete floors. But for a short stay livable.

Review 60:Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 61:Described as modern chic Luxury Boutique Hotel. That's one way to look at it if you buy into the Buzz words. One look at the room said something different to me. Cold slabs of concrete surround you. Reminded me of a jail cell with decent furniture. Small, narrow room that did not feel homey at all. The piece of Apple jack cereal found next to the bed and the mystery pill on the bathroom floor didn't exactly say Clean to me either. I submitted them to Management who was apologetic. God forbid if I had an animal or a child with me who ate the mystery pill. This could have turned into a very ugly situation. I also booked a King Room River view advertised on Booking.com as 575 Sq ft. No way was my room that large. I didn't see the $50 incidental fee coming at me until I checked my bank statement either. Not a happy stay.

Review 62:Room was quiet during my stay. However it was on a Monday night in the Winter. No loud parties below. Internet was fast once I was able to get on. Bed was decent. Pillows could have been bigger. Very fast and friendly check in and check out.

Review 63:Very cozy. Surprised my girlfriend and decorated a room on Valentine's day and went out for drinks across the street. Was a very quiet night we both enjoyed.

Review 64:We booked a king size bed but when we got to our room, we saw that they had just pushed two twin size beds together. My girlfriend slipped between both beds during the night and hardly slept at all. Also, we had taken the time to reserve a room at Nylo online before getting to the hotel. The staff had no idea we were coming and took 30 minutes to check us in. We both had to get to work early or we would have said something in the morning at check out. Worst stay so far...

Review 65:It was clean and very quiet.

Review 66:I hope they have plans to convert the rest of the old factory mill that is 10 feet from the rear of the building.

Review 67:The bed was amazing. The facilities look very modern and its different than most hotels with its industrial look. That is what I like about it the most.

Review 68:Room had an overall cold feel to it. One annoyance was it was impossible to keep a light on in the bathroom at night so to see if you had to get up as the shower was frosted glass into the room and the light was bright and kept us up. Not well thought out design.

Review 69:lack of draw space dark hallway no light over mirror in hallway if no draws- put at least 2-3 luggage racks in each hall entrance

Review 70:location food in restaurant bed comfort staff very customer focsed pet friendly but no pet amenities like a bed-- and food bowls after paying $50.00 charge

Review 71:Anthony was a great help with my booking as my reservation did not download into the pms. His follow up was on point. Room was gorgeous, price was reasonable, very comfy stay

Review 72:Think staff could be more on their game. I did not have a problem but I noticed that they were not as organized as they could be checking other people in and out.

Review 73:Hip and New

Review 74:Needs more / better lighting at the Pool Table

Review 75:That Rooms are very Quite and beautiful, great choice of old building that can used for some great hotels and History about the buildings

Review 76:While in the shower I happen to hit the handle and the handle went in the direction of making the water hotter. The handle was too easy to move and someone can be burned.

Review 77:I loved the view, style of the room and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Review 78:The photo of the room I booked was not the same as the room assigned upon arrival. When I complained I was told the room I had booked was not available. Rather than submit to a bait and switch swindle, I cancelled the reservation and found an alternate hotel.

Review 79:Nothing

Review 80:We stayed in the room 219, and the room is right on top of the 2 swing chairs in the lobby. From midnight to 3:00am, whenever people sat in the swing chair, we can hear this squeaky noise lasted for as long as someone remain in the chair. We called the front desk twice and asked them to stop the chair from being used until 8:00am as we couldn't fall asleep at all in the room. There wasn't much done at all. We keep hearing the noises. The hotel is fully booked that night so we couldn't switch to another room until next day. The hotel upgraded us to one bed room suite from the original studio. It was a nice gesture; however, it couldn't compensate for the fact that we didn't get any sleep at all for the night before. And no discount was granted as the manager never got back to us proactively. We HAVE to call them to check if a new room was arranged for us next day. We paid $160 per night to get no sleep. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. They need to get their act together.

Review 81:The thermostat was challenging to set and control. The engineering staff promptly responded and got it working.

Review 82:Prompt responsiveness of staff at front desk, housekeeping and facilities. Shuttle driver was courteous and friendly.

Review 83:Should offer valet parking. Front desk should be more knowledgeable about nearby beaches or things to do in Warwick. Rooms are designed well, but housekeeping was fair. If you are going for a sleek look than you need to keep all chrome and glass clean.

Review 84:Even though we were at first disappointed that the location was far from Providence, we were soon appeased because of how trendy and upscale the property was. Loved all the décor and bed was very comfy. Restaurant deck on the river is a great feature.

Review 85:air-conditioning is a bit noisy for the class of hotel

Review 86:loved the whole design of the hotel we used a suite to stay with our kids on the sleeping couch. that worked very well.

Review 87:I planned a last minute trip to Newport, RI and the nicer hotels in Newport were booked. I wanted to stay in a nice hotel and had seen NYLO's website and photos and thought it would be worth the 1/2 hour drive from Newport. It was not. The website makes the hotel look really nice but the hotel lobby is tiny and the photos make it look grand. The concrete floors in the room made me question whether they were really clean. Could have been but they were cold and uncomfortable. The shower needed to be scrubbed and re-grouted. There were patch holes on the wall that should have been painted over. Check in was 3:00 and we arrived at 3:30 and the room was not ready and they did not apologize or offer to comp us anything. They just said we could either wait or take the handicap room.Maid knocked on door and immediately started walking in room. Nothing special about this hotel. It was a huge disappointment.

Review 88:Comfortable bed. Nice try on decor but lacking... The hotel itself was clean but the shower was not.

Review 89:Though the staff was very friendly, they seemed to be unsecure and not very well organized. Maybe they were newly hired, but I never saw anyone who could look like a manager. The fitness room was delicate but not very well equipped. The sofa bed was horrible and not at all ment to sleep in!

Review 90:The size of the room (we had a suite, as we had two children) was great! And we loved the design of the hotel! The restaurant was excellent, though not very child-friendly. But I suppose the hotel's target group is not families....

Review 91:Unfortunately, we experienced poor service in the lounge and restaurant on a couple of occasions.

Review 92:Beautiful, clean, unique hotel!! Absolutely loved it!

Review 93:The customer service was atrocious. The front desk employees were useless in helping resolve a customer issue and actually helped create one by being arrogant in the face of it. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, with the shower floor still being blackened by previous use and the toilet contained some browning as well. The floors were slightly dirtied still throughout the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a single person. I would have gotten a better customer service experience at a Motel 6 or La Quinta.

Review 94:There was nothing that I was enthralled about to consider a pro or something I liked. The design was definitely different from other hotels but aside from that everything was below expectations.

Review 95:room was said to have a river look - only window in room behind the bed - so no view! - very dark and small room, no fully seperated toilet - shower area

Review 96:good Location, next to irish Pub and Shopping mall, nice garden, large free parking, very good TV signal

Review 97:They do not offer room service and kitchen was not open all day due to July 4th holiday so it was difficult to get a coffee or a snack.

Review 98:The stay here was very nice. Facilities were clean and hotel is run well. Its location is a quick drive into the center of the city. Breakfast the next day outside the restaurant was nice. Food and service were good.

Review 99:No inside/outside pool, steam room in the gym didn't work, no refrigerator in the room.

Review 100:Interesting rooms, quitness, available parking space, polite stuff,

Review 101:No fridge in the room. no wardrobe.

Review 102:Great location. Just opposite the mall with plenty of food options.

Review 103:Toilet bowl was really dirty on the seat when we got there.

Review 104:Great atmosphere clean modern overall great experience

Review 105:Everything

Review 106:No complaints at all. Great place to stay.

Review 107:Very short stay but we were very impressed with our first visit and look forward to our next.

Review 108:The lack of outlets

Review 109:The openness of the room and the sound proof rooms! The bathroom amazed me to no end and the bed was so comfortable

Review 110:Rooms are tiny and could use some drawer or shelf space

Review 111:Staff was superb. Able to check in early. Nice gym/bar area.

Review 112:only one bar of soap for our two night stay

Review 113:price per night

Review 114:Open bathrooms (sound) when sharing a room with someone who is not your partner.

Review 115:Restaurant Staff

Review 116:The room and view

Review 117:Old abandon building next door need to be demolished.

Review 118:The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone seamed to enjoy being at work!

Review 119:A bit noisy in the middle of the night, might have been just the other guests

Review 120:Free parking, live music, good food

Review 121:No room service

Review 122:Good restaurant

Review 123:Great getaway and a hidden gem. Totally enjoyed the room, outside deck, food was excellent and having the band during dinner was a bonus.

Review 124:No mini fridge

Review 125:Conceptual feel

Review 126:The food at the restaurant was cold. The food wasn't that great. No refrigerator in the room

Review 127:Nice bed and pretty view of the river

Review 128:Was taken back by surrounding neighborhood river was nice though

Review 129:Decor

Review 130:Greasy finger prints all over the television, remote and coffee area.

Review 131:The modern amenities, restroom, furniture etc.

Review 132:Hipness of hotel Patio

Review 133:Not enough to do in the area...
