Reviews for Admiral's Inn Resort
Review 1:Comfortable beds, clean rooms and plenty of warm heat. Right off the road but still super quiet at night. Great staff with good recommendations for dinner and breakfast as well as a way to avoid some traffic in Kennebunkport.
Review 2:I liked every aspect of this place.
Review 3:i loved the comfortabe beds and the cleanliness of the room. The staff were very friendly and super accomodating. I want to go back and stay again in April.
Review 4:The staff from Check in to check out was great. The room was fine, clean and neat. We did not like the individual unit Heat/ac unit ans it blew different temps and ran all night(noisy). Everything else was fine!
Review 5:Hot tub should remain open, especially in the colder months!!!
Review 6:Very helpful and friendly staff. Dinner suggestion was spot on. Walking distance to pretty much everything in town.
Review 7:Is my second visit here and I am very very happy. Everything is perfect here, the staff, the place, the cleanliness. There's the BEST option in Ogunquit!
Review 8:The trip was perfect!!
Review 9:The staff was amazing!! They made our 10 year anniversary the best time ever. They were always telling us the best places to go. The room was so cozy and clean!! The bed was so comfortable!! I couldn't have asked for me! We will be back!!
Review 10:Very nice Inn. I thought the location was going to be closer to downtown, but it didn't really matter. The suggestions for dinners, breakfasts and brunch were excellent!
Review 11:The location is within walking distance to downtown and the beach. Although I would not recommend the walk to the beach if you are spending the day in the summer with all your beach gear.. It's not that close, about a 6-10 minute walk. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable.
Review 12:Only downside was our room was very hot - even with the window open.
Review 13:Room was great, location was really good and staff very helpful. Breakfast was good too!
Review 14:Nothing. But I've machinr location. Could be nearer to rooms.
Review 15:So accommodating. Had to arrive at 2am because of unexpected hospital thing. Front desk was there. Rod and sheets really comfy. Ice machine a bit of a haul. Breakfast peaceful and continental. would have liked better circumstances to enjoy this place. Maybe next time.
Review 16:The inn was a 5 minute walk from main street of town. Rooms immaculate , beds comfortable, lots of pillows and linen smelled freshly laundered. Grounds well kept and staff very friendly!
Review 17:SOME SORT OF DISTURBANCE A FEW DOORS DOWN, WHICH INVOLVED THE POLICE AND LOTS OF SHOUTING, KEPT US UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF THE MANAGEMENT MADE SOME AMENDS FOR THIS, OR AT LEAST CHECKED IN ON US THE NEXT MORNING! THE ROOM ITSELF WAS MEDIOCRE AND NEEDED SOME UPDATING. THE BAR/BREAKFAST AREA WAS VERY LOVELY, BUT COULD HAVE USED A VERY THOROUGH CLEANING!
Review 18:THE LOCATION OF THIS HOTEL IS GREAT, AND THE STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK WAS QUITE FRIENDLY.
Review 19:The newer rooms could use more hooks around the bathroom for hand towels etc. wifi was extremely weak. It would be nice if you banned smoking from balcony/entire property. Next door guest smoking was a nuisance.
Review 20:Was very conveniently located.
Review 21:Kind of wish we had an ocean view, but we were centrally located anyway, but still no complaints.
Review 22:The people were very informative and experienced with the area and also helpful in getting show tickets.
Review 23:The staff was extremely friendly, and best of all it was a very short walk into town making it easy to just leave your car at the Hotel instead of battling traffic and costly parking. We would definitely consider staying here again
Review 24:Minor thing but I would suggest keeping the pools/hot tubs open past 9pm for adult guests who are up a little later and aren't planning to go out at night.
Review 25:The grounds were well kept and quiet, and the room comfortable and well appointed. Staff was extremely courteous and friendly.
Review 26:Mostly good, just wasn't there long enough to experience it.
Review 27:People there were nice, but only there for a little while. Seems like a nice summer place to be.
Review 28:The staff was outstanding. They went above and beyond our expectations! Marty offered to make reservations for us and showed us how to get anywhere within walking distance. We were in Maine to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and they brought us a complimentary bottle of wine to the room. At night, we met some nice and friendly people by the fire and Jake makes great drinks. The blueberry coffee cake was amazing in the morning! Highly recommend
Review 29:Within walking distance of Marginal Way and downtown Ogunquit. Our room was big and comfy and very clean. Marty & staff were very helpful ...we would stay again. Ogunquit Beach is close by , but a healthy walk .
Review 30:Room was exceptionally noisy. Air conditioner sounded like a jet - and that was with the fan on 'low'. Unfortunately, turning that off meant listening to the outdoor bar: music, conversations and people in the parking lot until around 1:30AM. All rooms (maybe 30?) in the building faced the bar by the pool. It was like an amphitheater with the bar as the stage. Would not stay there again. There is another building which would have to be quieter, but it looked much smaller.
Review 31:Location was fine, room was clean and staff was friendly.
Review 32:The bed was too soft for our comfort, we both ended up with back pain. Stayed two nights, but would not stay here again because of this.
Review 33:Location, good breakfast , nice staff
Review 34:The view could have been better than a parking lot, but then I hadn't requested something else. Also walking on a busy road to get to breakfast isn't enjoyable...could a pathway be made further in on the property?
Review 35:Our room was spacious, clean, and had two, yes two, comfy chairs, often not found nowdays. Well appointed breakfast! The beds were comfy, the room was painted a quiet green, no cheap prints on the walls. Within walking distance to the Ogunquit Playhouse.
Review 36:The beds were fine, but the pillows were too stiff.
Review 37:The location was great- a short walk to the places we wanted to go. There are two pools, one is for 16 years and older, and it has shade. The fire pit is amazing!
Review 38:entry to. Parking lot at 10 p.m. On a rainy night it was difficult to see the entry and post theater traffic was heavy
Review 39:Friendly courteous staff and breakfast muffins
Review 40:The staff was extremely helpful. The property was spotless and the room seemed to be brand new. Super great bed. Very modern and zen like feeling. Cannot say enough about how helpful the staff was. Took time to explain the entire town to every guest. Late check out time? No problem....I wanted to steal the housekeeper...it was that clean.
Review 41:Couldn't bring your own alcohol by the fire pit.
Review 42:John and Pavel were very polite and enjoyed their company out by the Tiki Bar. But your whole staff was very friendly and kind.
Review 43:The staff is great. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and they delivered a bottle of champagne to the room. Very thoughtful. Fairly close to everything. We would definitely stay there again.
Review 44:We had trouble with the WiFi, which wouldn't have been a big deal except that the cell service in the whole Ogunquit area seemed to be terrible. Breakfast was fine, but maybe just a couple more "kid friendly" options. Some cereals, bagels or English muffins?
Review 45:Although not an ocean view, it was great to be able to walk to the center of town and the beach so easily, especially given the significant traffic on Route One. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We especially appreciated the ability to go to the beach the next day and leave our car in the parking lot. The beach lot was already full when we got to the beach at 10am! And to be able to come back and take a shower mid-afternoon before getting in the car and heading home was a huge perk. The pool, firepit and bar area was nicely done.
Review 46:Carpets had some stains and could have needed shampooing.
Review 47:Friendly staff, walking distance to everything, outdoor bar and pool, fire pit, proximity to Ogunquit Playhouse with 20% discount
Review 48:We were in room 504 and the shower did not drain well. We were in standing water every day. That would be my only complaint, but a significant one. Also could have used a microwave in the room, and tea in addition to coffee.
Review 49:Loved the location, the cabana bar, fire pit, and large room. Thought the on-site laundry, though minimal, was very helpful and a nice surprise for drying wet beach towels.
Review 50:could have a little variety with breakfast- same thing every day
Review 51:staff super friendly, knowledgeable of the area and where to go to eat/play, had book of restaurant menus, very helpful
Review 52:Staff were exceptional & most helpful Clean & recently renovated Pool bar & fire pit - great place to relax Comfortable beds & spacious rooms Easy walk to everywhere Access to spa & shower facilities Great value
Review 53:i was involved in a minor accident. They were very kind and helped me considerably in getting cleaned up. Also, on arrival told me the best places for me to see and dine.
Review 54:That you had to walk down a few buildings to get breakfast which was tough because I am handicapped. The hot tub did not seem very clean in the evening when we went to get in it. There were things floating in it. Our shower was not set right in the reno which we brought to the attention to management.
Review 55:The staff were very friendly. They found out it was our anniversary and went out of their way to make it special for us. Our room was very comfortable. The pool area was peaceful. The pool was nice. We met some nice people there.
Review 56:Pool area was small and nothing "luxurious." Pool could use a cleaning (some bugs floating and pool walls in need of scrub). A/C in the room was sufficient, but it was window unit a/c which was a little noisy. Did find a bug in the room.
Review 57:Very friendly front desk staff. Very accommodating to all requests/questions. Spacious room. Comfy king sized bed. Pool area was quiet and chairs were plentiful. Parking free/easy. Good location - not right in the center of everything, but a very short walk to Shore Drive/beach for those who don't mind a short walk. Water/coffee/tea in lobby 24/7. Also liked that there wasn't a minimum # of nights like many properties in the area during busy season.
Review 58:Located on Route 1 (called Main Street by manager) but not in the center of the small town, which makes it Route 1. Difficult to walk on road shoulder (no sidewalk) to get to town -- No mirror in bedroom or luggage racks for suitcases - only the floor. Noisy ice maker in hallway very close to our room.
Review 59:AC barely worked. Sink & tub drains were clogged. Hotel on heavy traffic road which made going anywhere by car impossible.
Review 60:Room was clean. Staff was polite.
Review 61:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, the room was large and very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much. It is 2/10 of a mike from marginal way so although it is more convenient to be oceanfront, it was close enough to walk to every day.
Review 62:The coverlet on the bed needed washed, otherwise the room was spotless.
Review 63:Room was well decorated, modern with comfy bed and location! of the inn was awesome. It was within walking distance of the beach and shops.
Review 64:Carpet in our room was very stained...needs replacing. We were put in a handicap room which I didn't book, but that was o.k.
Review 65:Very quiet and close to the Marginal Way and shops!
Review 66:Mark and staff were phenomenal. Got us reservations at Jonathan's restaurant and our table was waiting for us. Got us tickets to a play and made sure he gave us an umbrella in case it rained as we were waking. Forgot a bottle opener and it was provided. Nothing but the utmost courtesy and kindnesses were extended to us. The beds were extremely comfortable and the location was perfect
Review 67:Air conditioner was loud in the room
Review 68:Everything! Great staff! Friendly and helpful. Good location. Nice walk to beach. Not too far from Marginal Way. Close to lots of good restaurants. The only place we want to stay!
Review 69:There was problem with wifi, which was fixed on the next day.
Review 70:Location - which is few minutes walk from the main street, and not that far from the beach. Friendliness of the staff - especially Marty. Jacuzzi - nice!
Review 71:The wonderful and discreet staff. Fantastic more than just a usual continental breakfast. Mattress and pillows to die for. The conversations around the fire pit.
Review 72:No gluten free options for Contl Breakfast. No tv channel guide on remote or in room. Only way to adust a/c was to climb on chair. Same for speed of fan.
Review 73:Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable room. Cleanliness.
Review 74:We have been there twice and have already booked for a third stay next month. The staff made it a wonderful experience and a fun place to go back to.The beds are comfortable and the continental breakfast and fridge were a nice plus. Mark at the front desk was there both times when we were there. He was so easygoing and promoted the Inn in a relaxed and knowledgable manner. We talked about the playhouse and thought about going and he was able to book it for us in a matter of minutes. The renovations were complete this last trip and the new pool and hottub were lovely. The added bonus was a firepit that was nice to sit by and chat with other guests at night. We are looking forward to another stay soon. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
Review 75:Not exactly cheap for a family of 4, but affordable for the key location.
Review 76:Great location, close to Shore road without the loud noises. Very good continental breakfast.
Review 77:Maybe the air condition units could be a little quieter.
Review 78:The staff and their knowledge of the area was great. Everyone wanted to help us enjoy our stay to the fullest. Great jacuzzi and location.
Review 79:The decor was very simple. The room could use a little something extra. The place was great otherwise.
Review 80:We we're able to get a great last minute reduced rate via the internet.
Review 81:The family pool was awkward to enter and exit. No stairs. Very hard for a senior citizen with a bad hip. The adult pool made up for it.
Review 82:The room #413 and the beds were heavenly.
Review 83:It's a short walk to the beach and town center. We are big walkers so we don't mind, especially since you need to pay more for the convenience of being closer.
Review 84:Overall friendly nature of the staff, nice workout and pool areas, delicious continental breakfast and a lot to do in the beautiful Ogunquit area. They were working on the outdoor bar which is going to even add more.
Review 85:We love that we can walk downtown or to Perkins Cove. The Inn is comfortable, clean and well kept. And the staff is very friendly. We'd highly recommend it!
Review 86:The pillows were all new and rather thick. No big deal.
Review 87:Not as old as the other town motels, well located as we walked to the beach with our 6 years old. Nearby many good restaurants on Shore Road and Main St. Quite, free breakfast, free parking, friendly staff.
Review 88:Need a ladder to get in bed...refrigerator is cheap and ruined our apples, spinach, and half and half. Advertisement said every room had a desk...NO DESK...did not not mention construction going on right outside our room. That breakfast is all sweets!!! Had to ask for soap. Bar opened at 4 PM but everytime we drove by after 8 it was closed already!! They just close whenever they want.
Review 89:Not much....can't think of anything
Review 90:Rude woman at check-in.
Review 91:Very comfortable property tucked away off the main road. Clean, comfortable room well worth the price. Short walk to town with nice restaurants and bakeries.
Review 92:It would be nice if there were microwaves in the rooms.
Review 93:Very accommodating, friendly staff, nice rooms, excellent location, nice breakfast included is a great value.
Review 94:My husband and I decided to stop there at our honeymoon. The staff was beyond amazing! Anything we asked for they were able to provide. Very clean, newly updated, walk to everything in town! Would recommend to anyone and we will be going back again.
Review 95:There was construction on the property while we where there. It was a little pricy for no waterview, small amenities, and a barely more than a families home grown kind of feel.
Review 96:Close to downtown shops with direct entry feom outside, individual porches, and a big shower.
Review 97:We weren't too fond of having a room right off of the front desk. I could see this being a noise issue during busier times.
Review 98:The place was clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. I found it very clean and our room was very nice.
Review 99:Sink was clogged, electrical outlet is not secured to the stud, used the wagon to take to the beach and the rear wheels fell off.
Review 100:The beds were comfortable, and the staff was excellent very helpful and always very pleasant to speak with.
Review 101:There was no desk to sit at in the room. There was no coffee maker in the room. There was no TV guide to see what was playing or the TV channels you were in the dark.
Review 102:The area was nice and not far from the town you can walk to the beach. The staff was great.
Review 103:There are two pools on location and one was closed due to construction causing it to be way over crowded for a holiday weekend. We couldn't go in. Just would have liked the heads up as when I was looking for a place a pool was a priority. I do think once the construction is done and the new poolside bar it open it will be very nice.
Review 104:The staff could not have been nicer. Rooms were clean and spacious. Like the location as we like to walk and just about everything is within a mile or less.
Review 105:I do wish the wifi accessibility were a little stronger.
Review 106:Wonderful, friendly staff. Very close to the center of town and to the beach and the Marginal Walkway.
Review 107:The staff was above and beyond helpful, they suggested places to see and great restaurants, the hotel was newly renovated and super clean, I loved it!
Review 108:It was off season so the breakfast restaurant wasn't open, nor was the (very small) pool.
Review 109:The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Convenient location not far from restaurants ans little shops.
Review 110:I wish it had said on the website that your breakfast/lounge areas were not open off season...that had a big impact on our choice, we wanted somewhere we could totally relax for the weekend without having to go out.
Review 111:This property was excellent. The staff member Marty was an absolute sweetheart recommended plenty of different places to eat/visit.
Review 112:Big thank you to the Admiral's Inn for making our anniversary trip so special! Marty at the front desk was spot on with recommendations for food and sights! We can't wait to come back this summer!
Review 113:Nothing.
Review 114:Were there for Thanksgiving week. Room was excellent in size and comforts. Everything was neat and clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our needs at all times. Definaty look forward to staying there again. Short walk to downtown Ogunquit if you are familiar with area.
Review 115:All is good
Review 116:The establishment is gay friendly and open, providing excellent care. It is less than a half mile to the bars and downtown area. Great location.
Review 117:The mattresses were on the soft side. No breakfast.
Review 118:Room was big, confortable and airy. Large room on the main floor for coffee and they had tables where we played cards.
Review 119:The Admiral Inn was a great place to stay and the staff were very nice and friendly. The quaint little inn is perfectly located close to everything. We went to Jonathans for a concert which was across the street. Marginal Way was within walking distance as was Perkins Cove.
Review 120:Some wet snow on small deck of the back exit closest to large parking lot was not remove in time before it turned to ice. The problem is that this deck is not exposed to the sun at all in my opinion. As a result, deck was slippery. This could become a problem and a potential liability.
Review 121:Being able tout walk everywhere. Bug clean room. Nice people.
Review 122:Upon arrival , very friendly staff, at our opinion the best location, peace and quiet, we enjoy the fire at night.. the staff go above to make our stay comfortable , we certainly go back anytime soon..
Review 123:No coffee making facilities in the room - although there was a constant supply in the lounge
Review 124:Plenty of parking Welcoming and helpful staff Proximity to the village centre Choice of good restaurants
Review 125:Wasn't very happy with the motel-style room that we were allocated on arrival, as we had wonderful rooms in the 'New Inn' building when we last stayed there. However, when we made our disappointment known at reception we were immediately offered alternative rooms in the 'New Inn', and our faith was restored.
Review 126:Admirals Inn is a convenient location for Ogunquit and Perkins Cove, although just on the outskirts of town, so not in the midst of all the traffic and bustle. Plenty of free parking space. Nice rooms in the 'New Inn' building, and excellent breakfast served in the hotel dining room/bar.
