Reviews for Astoria Rivershore Motel

Review 1:The breakfast was so meager that it has hardly worth the effort.

Review 2:Nice to have separate bedrooms, fairly quiet considering the motel is on US 30, close to downtown.

Review 3:Noisy' u can hear other guests while in their rooms. The traffic noise from the street is ridiculous. The room smelled and I wouldn't dare unpack and place personal items in drawers.

Review 4:Old style tv, so no HDMI to plug my laptop in. But that is it

Review 5:Twin beds was actually 2 rooms separated by a bathroom, ideal for 2 friends travelling. Price was cheap, location good, dated décor but was clean, the shower worked well and bed extremely comfortable

Review 6:Loud,breakfast was almost non existant, no ac

Review 7:While we did enjoy our stay here,it was a bit loud and the "continental" breakfast was lacking. They don't tell you it's right on freeway and so lots of noice. Overall though great room for price and staff was very friendly

Review 8:This place needs up dating and a good cleaning.no info in room re. Restaurants, local places of interest.did not have basic room convenience. No pen paper,tv guide etc.

Review 9:Would not stay there again

Review 10:The parking, came back to room late at night and had to park in Subway parking lot with fear of being towed didn't see the sign in motel office that parking there was ok. The desk clerk when checking in on Friday was very unpleasant.

Review 11:The young man working at the desk on Saturday morning for checking out was very nice and polite.

Review 12:only one window and that on the outside walkway so ventilation wasn't good, carpet in room is old, noisy since it is right on the highway

Review 13:location fairly close to downtown, easy to find, right on highway, king bed, clean room,

Review 14:I have a larger truck that was a bit difficult to park, but I was assigned a room that didn't have neighbors so it worked out.

Review 15:Pretty amazing that a hotel for half the price of the big names would be this nice. Don't judge this book by its cover.

Review 16:right by the busy road so bad traffic noise The two 'ladies' on reception didn't welcome us, wheeled out their rehearsed set of rules, regulations and amenities speech. All very functional and unfriendly.

Review 17:Big room, clean bathrooms Well located for where we wanted to be

Review 18:AC either didn't work or there was none. Tried leaving the window open, but the road noise was extremely loud. One bed apparently had some broken springs and dipped in the center and squeaked.

Review 19:Bathroom was clean and towels were large and fluffy.

Review 20:the frig was full of cake pizza choc candy half hamburger and takeout box I didn't open which I dumped because the frig door would not close. No coffee makings And had an odor of wet dog, priced way too high/service!

Review 21:Location easy parking, beds and bathroom were clean.

Review 22:The motel was hot, noisy and when husband went out to car a lady asked him for money. People outside their doors smoking and talking loud was kind of scary and alot of road noise.

Review 23:price was very high for the quality, very noisy and there was an incident that happened that night the cops were there in the morning so we didn't like itit was a place to put my head and take a shower

Review 24:contininental breakfast was prepackaged pastries, oranges, coffee & oj in the teeniest of lobbies. No fan of any type in room.

Review 25:on riverfront (tho' across from a warehouse). Felt clean & safe.

Review 26:If traffic noise annoys you, you might not like it here.

Review 27:I really liked the "double" where beds are separated by the bathroom & hall. It's great for traveling friends who don't sleep together, and the back bedroom is nice and quiet.

Review 28:There was no climate control and it was very hot and muggy there. The only relief was to open the window, which let in horrendous street noise. Sleep was impossible.

Review 29:The motel was easy to find. It is right on the highway.

Review 30:Continental breakfast was basically OJ and prepackaged pastries

Review 31:Full kitchen with dishes/pans included, friendly and attentive staff, room clean and comfortable, great location within walking distance of restaurants and downtown.

Review 32:The bed wasn't the most comfortable but for the price, we didn't expect much.

Review 33:The staff was great! Very welcoming. Location was perfect! Just a minute walk to all of the local attractions. For the price, it was perfect! Big room with a kitchen and they provided all dishes and cookware.

Review 34:location, view, highway, noise = When we told the girl we were disappointed, she said, "Yeah, I get that a lot, but whether you stay or not, I have to charge this credit card number." The "Queen Suite" had just a full-size bed, and it was okay at best. The bathroom was so small, it was hard to close the door. We skipped the "breakfast."

Review 35:large room, full kitchen

Review 36:Nothing bad at all. Was pleasantly surprised.

Review 37:We booked short notice, and figured our teen would just be crashing out on the floor. Our room ended up being huge, with a great kitchen, and a sofa and chair! It was a great location and a great value. Would totally stay again!

Review 38:TV placement was too far away from the easy chair. I did not want to turn volume up too loud to disturb neighbors.

Review 39:Plenty of parking. Right on the main street thru Astoria. King size bed was more than adequate for single person.

Review 40:It was a bit tatty, broken drawers etc. Also the room smelled foul when we got to it, hopefully from cleaning chemicals as the room was meant to be non-smoking.

Review 41:The location was near enough the downtown and boardwalk.

Review 42:The only thing I would change would be to have a wider variety of breakfast options in the morning! But I appreciated having anything available at all!

Review 43:The room was clean, it smelled good, plenty of towels, and a good size!

Review 44:Room was dirty, we asked for a king the bed was a double, the toilet wasn't even bolted to the floor, they had a $15 dollar heater hooked to a thermostat with no control it was either on or off. Wouldn't recommend staying there again.

Review 45:Wasn't a thing to like

Review 46:I'm a light sleeper. there was a hum or background noise til late at night. So I had a hard time falling asleep.

Review 47:Close to the Riverwalk and downtown.

Review 48:Had to pull out fridge to plug in coffee maker & microwave. This would have been difficult for an older person.

Review 49:The view was great. The breakfast had good options for "grab-and-go".Excellent recommendation for dinner (Ship's Inn) & it was in walking distance...and delicious! Central for travel from Seaside to Cape Disappointment.

Review 50:The road noise is insane and the rooms need to be updated if they are going to continue to charge the same price.

Review 51:It was a room that was kind of cheap.

Review 52:Maybe city of Astoria could install a pedestrian crosswalk light somewhere within a safe distance!

Review 53:Comfortable pillow top mattress, close to river walk, museum & well recommended restaurant with riverside seating & tasty meal.

Review 54:Went to take a shower and they didn't have hot water. I let it run for a long time and it barely got luke warm. Went to get tea in the morning at the continental breakfast and they had Lipton tea bags - but... you guessed it - No Hot Water.

Review 55:The desk clerk was quite grumpy, but the other employees were very friendly. It is on a busy street, but the restaurant across the street was fabulous!

Review 56:Full kitchen, easy access.

Review 57:Noise level was quite high with our room # 208 on the street side, and a lot of traffic. The bathroom needed some attention, (There was no caulking around the tile floor and the toilet did not flush properly.)

Review 58:The staff seemed helpful and it is a central location.

Review 59:Back screen in 212 desperately needs to be cleaned. People have written messages in the dust on the screen. The King bed room didn't have any way to cool it down after the long hot day in Astoria.

Review 60:Our room had two windows to help cool down our room due to the hot day in Astoria. The beds were comfortable too. Working ice machine. The double double bed room had the beds far enough apart, it felt like two rooms!!

Review 61:Its a bit of a hike to get into town,I thought it would be a bit closer. We needed ice and the machine did not work. The continental breakfast was more of a snack bar, without healthy choices.

Review 62:It was affordable, I did like that we could go for a walk across the road on a pedestrian path. The 3 CUPS cafe is a gem of a cafe and glad it was close by. The king bed was clean and comfortable.

Review 63:right on the interstate =VERY noisy. no air conditioner=stuffy. horrible lighting=difficult shaving and/or make-up appliccation.

Review 64:close in, reasonably clean

Review 65:Motel was next to their bar/lounge so nite times were fairly noisey with music. No refrigerator or microwave.

Review 66:Right downtown, close to everything. Remodeling, so everything was new and fresh. Small town and felt safe walking at night.

Review 67:When we walked in the room smelled awful. We opened all the windows. The next morning I discovered the dirty towels left under the bathroom sink. It just made me wonder if the sheets were even clean. I'm sure you can understand.

Review 68:Rooms smelled very old and musty. Black mold in bathroom and not clean. Very disappointed for the price. Stayed in Newport at a very nice hotel for less than this and we were in a prime location. Should not be rated as a 2 star hotel.

Review 69:Location was good - able to walk to the trolley and favorite eatery

Review 70:Staff were't always there. Breaky was a couple of pasties left on a tray - OK provided you weren't expecting something fancy

Review 71:Convenient location. reasonable facilities

Review 72:No ac so we had to sleep with the window open. It's right on the 101 so nonstop traffic and tons of boat traffic too. We got basically no sleep. We didn't feel safe.

Review 73:noisy. I asked for a fan and got it,then I shut the windows to reduce noise. wifi did not work because of the peer to peer sharing software in the laptop. but then the network did not give me a chance to try again. The motel should tell me what to do about the software and help me solve the problem. Breakfast is just some pastries, coffee and juice. not real breakfast.

Review 74:the woman in the front desk did try to help, but did not solve the wifi problem

Review 75:Ended up with a smoking room (although it wasn't that smoky). Had to go out to the parking lot for my wireless to work. Moldy bathroom ceiling.

Review 76:Big fridge. Quiet back room. New-ish bathroom.

Review 77:Continental breakfast was poor. Coffee and packaged poor quality donuts or pastry.

Review 78:Location was great. Could walk to restaurants. Boardwalk is right across the street.

Review 79:I have never stayed in a motel that was that bad in the room and on the outside as well. Motel 6 is better than that. It does not deserve a 2 star rating. The TV was very small and holes in the desk top. Old bedding and dingy.

Review 80:Nothing. I went to another place. It was noisy and really awful in appearance. I was afraid to stay there.

Review 81:It was so noisy. The traffic over the bridge was really loud. I was also disappointed that it was not on the water. The busy highway is right out the door.

Review 82:I liked that the water was across the street. The room was adequate. I would not stay there again.

Review 83:The area was very industrial. It was advertised as having a river view, which in reality was a view of the shipping area. The room was dark and depressing and the neighborhood did not have a safe feel about it.

Review 84:The location was convenient for traveling through Astoria to Washington. There was a side room with the second bed affording a bit more privacy than a standard two bed room.

Review 85:Facility was outdated and very loud.

Review 86:It was available when needed

Review 87:thought it was on the river., not a view of the river

Review 88:nothing

Review 89:Nothing

Review 90:I was surprised to have a microwave and refrig in the room. It was great

Review 91:Convenient to historic downtown

Review 92:Not very clean. Carpet dirty amd smelled.

Review 93:Very noisy traffic all night, woke us up all night long

Review 94:it was very clean and the bed very comfy

Review 95:The view of the bridge and river was fantastic.

Review 96:Next upgrade the bed.

Review 97:Nicely done up grades in kitchen and vanity area. Size of one bedroom unit was nice.

Review 98:Highway traffic kept us awake all night. Not much of a breakfast

Review 99:Noisy. Outdoor steps. Staff in a hurry.

Review 100:Parking lot was small for parking a full size pickup. There is 2 separate bedrooms with TV in 1 only. Ice machine didn't work.

Review 101:Price.

Review 102:Price was out of line for a place with no breakfast , no amenities and no ac. Should go for $65- $75.

Review 103:Nothing.

Review 104:Breakfast/coffee not available until 7 AM.

Review 105:Good location, noise from busy road was not an issue. Good value for one night stay.

Review 106:Traffic noise

Review 107:They had a room available

Review 108:No one on duty at night

Review 109:The separated rooms....kids had their own space.

Review 110:Close to main road and so noisy unless you shut the window.

Review 111:Price, ease of excess.

Review 112:Great location, nice clean room. We actually had two joined rooms with the washroom in the middle.

Review 113:I thought it was ON the river, not a loud busy street. A tiny refrigerator does not count as a kitchen The bed spread had a large hole in it.

Review 114:WiFi access was unreliable. Breakfast was a waste of time. Reception staff not very welcoming or friendly.

Review 115:OK location.

Review 116:Old EXPENSIVE

Review 117:Great view of river and a ship coming into port. Drivewise it was convieniently located.

Review 118:Very noisy from traffic, must be on a truck route.

Review 119:Staff was nice

Review 120:not bad place was clean. Nice shower bed was ok ,bit stiff. But not bad overall for a cheap hotel

Review 121:property is very rundown

Review 122:Beds were ok

Review 123:Clean. Comfortable bed.

Review 124:Tobacco smokers on the 2nd floor balcony, road noise.

Review 125:Inexpensive

Review 126:Unhelpful resption. noisy situation and room. not a very clean room Poor and inadequate breakfast in very cramps reception.

Review 127:Leaving in the morning.

Review 128:It was on a busy highway

Review 129:It was cheaper!

Review 130:Bed was comfortable
