Review 1：This is an older hotel, and it shows. Everything in this hotel looks senile and decrepit. Doors are hard to shut, bathrooms have every shade of rust and other things, carpets are stained with who knows what, etc...

Review 2：This hotel is on the beach, but don't ask for more. It is great if you are with friends living it up on spring break or any other alcohol fueled vacation.

Review 4：We have been going to LaPlaya in Daytona Beach since our honeymoon in May of 1985...we have been there about a dozen times since then...and have never wanted to stay anywhere else. The staff are just caring and enthusiastic and helpful, and we have so many wonderful memories of our many stays there!!! We have seen some reviews where people have complained that it's outdated and needs paint etc....well we don't care about that superficial stuff. The awesome balcony view and comfy rooms/beds along with the fantastic staff (especially the speedy maintenence guys and sweet girls who clean the rooms) more than make up for a lil bit of peeling paint here and there!!! Love LaPlaya and will never stay anywhere else. Our first experience with Booking.com was also fantastic...great communication and room price PLUS they made sure to let LaPlaya know what our preferences were. If u just want to get away from all of ur worries and relax and have some fun....check out LaPlaya!!! Take it from me...my husband and I ALWAYS come home relaxed and happy even after almost 31 years :-)

Review 5：pillows were flat as a board, beds were small and very uncomfortable. carpets were turning my socks black on the bottom they need shampooed badly. the tiki bar wasnt open for business and the restaurant wasnt open for business either

We had been scheduled to attend a comedy show but had to cancel since we did not have towels to shower. Towels arrived at about 6:30 pm!!! The scary kind you see in movies. a roach or rat would not surprise you. checked in checked right back out-would never sleep there. doors won't close-holes in walls/cracks in toilet/outlets spark/tv don't work/fridge-oven rusted loud/pool-hot tub gross dirty smelled like dog/balcony not safe.

Review 17：The door only fully latched if you were very careful to pull it just right, and the door frame looked as if someone had tried (and possibly succeeded) to force the door open past the locks. Smoke alarm went off at 4 AM in our room, and the maintenance man acted surprised that we wanted him to come check it out, since it "had already stopped on its own". I did not feel particularly safe.

Review 19：we just had 2 days of over cast and rain -- our last day there we wanted to spend relaxing at pool and beach -- but what did we get ? jack hammering on the balconys two floors up from the pool --- who can relax with that going on?

Review 20：We had two little problems with our room. One was a clogged bathroom sink drain which they fixed immediately and the other was a problem using our entry card. They immediately changed the lock and gave us new keys. They were very prompt with all our requests and were all very friendly and helpful. We would stay there every time we are in Daytona. Everything about our stay was fantastic.

Review 21：I'm a senior citizen traveling alone in a city where I did not know anyone. Sontonya (a member of the housekeeping staff) made sure to speak with me everyday in a very concerning and friendly matter. The staff made me feel truly welcome.

The pictures of the rooms on the website differ from what you will stay in. The air conditiong did not work properly and we had to change rooms twice. My wife had two mandatory conference calls via Internet and could never maintain a signal. She had to drive across the street to publix just to keep her job!Never would I recommend Laplaya to anyone I know. Thanks for the Horrible Experience Laplaya!

Then to have them smoking, spitting sunflower seeds an pistachios while pouring their vodka cranberry and red bulls forced me to take my boy to the beach the rest of our day. There were not adequate dishes for what we needed and it would have been nice to have 4 chairs at the table instead of just 2 as there were 4 people in the room.

Review 85：My husband and I took a last minute trip to Daytona at the end of May and had a great time. This isn't a super fancy hotel so if you're looking for the Ritz it'll fall short but its great for the budget. The hotel location is wonderful, right on the beach and in the middle of all the shops. Check in isn't until later in the day but we got there at 9 and were able to check right in with no problems. There was a little kitchen in the room which was a nice surprise because we were only expecting a mini fridge and a microwave. There's also a great little tiki bar by the pool, they play music later in the day which was great for hanging out at night.

Review 86：The only real negative event that happened was the room next to us. The couple staying there were fornicating rather loudly from around midnight until 330am when we Called the front desk. It was resolved quickly.

We had a full kitchen but, not utensils or cookware besides a few coffee cups and plates. The hot tubs were standing room only they were so crowded constantly. The towels were like sandpaper. Our neighbors must have had a prescription for medical marijuana because they were stinking up our whole studio with the stank. My 11 and 5 year old thought there must have been a skunk somewhere.

Review 106：Tiki bar closed for repairs over a weekend at busiest time of week, pools always had sand in them and weren't kept very clean and neither were hot tubs, only one hot tub worked properly, some of guests were just not respectful of property itself or even the beach, if ur going to have a laundry room for guests make sure there are more than two washers and dryers and make sure they all work not just one of each or even one. Kitchen should be open for breakfast lunch and dinner, and most other hotels offer complimentary breakfast which would have been a plus. Not much of a menu either. Staff was great and respectful, even maintenance staff was great and respectful. There were non guests parking in parking lot as well to access beach and pools. Unfortunately, until facility and cleanliness as far as pools, and hot tubs and an increase on kitchen menu and restaurant hours go we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 108：I wasn't aware that an OCEAN VIEW, was only a partial view. That was not explained to me when I booked the room. The roof leaked in the shower and the ac leaked which made my floor soaking wet. I will never stay at this hotel again. This ruined my vacation.

Review 109：Horribly overpriced for the dilapidated "upgraded" suite.There weren't even comforters on the beds! Just sheets and athin little blanket with another sheet on top of it. The balconiesare not private. The front stuff are completely indifferent. Theremote didn't have a back,the batteries were held in byelectrical tape! Beware!

The beds were hard and leaning. With two peoplesomeone always felt as if they were falling off the side. Hearing andsmelling our neighbors(bachelor party on one side and marijuana on theother). The room was so small!

Door to outside balcony would not close completely.Towels were like loofah - cheap and rough. The bed smelled - we had to buy Lysol and Febreeze. Would have changed hotels completely - however we booked online and had paid in full - and could not afford the expense of another hotel. 7:00 am a family in the room above us was standing on balacony screaming at their children who were in the pool.
